OES11 SP1 and Groupwise 2012 upgrade

Hi I'm am testing Groupwise 2012 with OES11 SP1 but can't seem to get the domain and Post office to start.
OES11 worked pre SP1 but.once I updated the server Groupwise doesn't want to start. Any ideas.
Cheers

Hi thanks for your quick response. That is exactly my problem. When I delete the file GroupWise works. Looks like Novell are looking at fixing the issue.
I will wait for the fix to be released.

  • Exchange 2013 SP1 and SCOM 2012 R2

    Hi there,
Hopefully someone can assist me with this issue, if it is one...
I am halfway through an Exchange migration, from Exchange 2010 SP3 on Server 2008 R2 to Exchange 2013 SP1 on Server 2012 R2.
76 users in total, roughly 80GB of Public Folders.
I have configured the 2013 environment with a cross datacenter DAG, also increased all of the timeouts of the cluster to take this into consideration, and everything appears to function as expected.
Added both 2013 machines to SCOM 2012 R2 for at least a week with no active users on it, and all monitoring reported ok, no issues.
Exchange 2010 is configured to use webmail.company.com for RPC over HTTP, which is what I have configured 2013 to use as well.
Implemented Microsoft ARR for client access to Exchange 2013, as opposed to ISA we've used for Exchange 2010.
A week ago, changed the DNS records for webmail.company.com from ISA to ARR, and all clients connected perfect.
Thought, ok, now we can start the migration. So far everything "seems" to be going perfect with the mailbox moves, however, SCOM is really noisy.
Attempted to reran the probe for EWS and got the error below:
Is there perhaps anyone that can assist me with these errors?
    Cheers

FYI... IIS ARR is not supported for Exchange Server.
Check in event log if you are getting anything related to the issue.
About Outlook POP UP to end users. Check the event log on 2010/2013 for MRS events.
Are those mailboxes still moving or in move request?

  • SQL 2012 SP1 and SCCM 2012 SP1

    Hi,
I am installing SCCM 2012 SP1 with SQL 2012 SP1 in Stand-Alone mode. But I am receiving error:"the service broker endpoint cannot listen on port 4022 because it is in use by another process"
I saw in SQL (SQL Server Configuration Manager) that I am using port 4022 without dinamic port.
    Thaks.

  • FIM2010 R2 SP1 and SCSM 2012

    Hello folks!
Im setting up a lab environment. I have installed SCSM DW and console, did pritty much what Carol did in this blogpost:
    http://www.wapshere.com/missmiis/installing-reporting-for-fim-r2
At the stage where Im gonna add FIM Reporting I get a error saying I have to install the KB2561430. This i apparently a hotfix for SCSM 2010 SP1. So, Im not able to install this hotfix in my environment since im running SCSM 2012.. Any ideas ? Im stuck.
    Regards, Remi

When you install FIM Reporting on a new server that has Service Manager 2012 SP1
    installed, follow these steps:
Install the FIM 2010 R2 SP1 FIMService component. To do this,
    clear the Reporting check box.
Upgrade the FIMService installation to build 4.1.3451.0.
Run the change-mode installation for the FIMService, and then
    add Reporting.

  • SCCM 2012 SP1 and MDT 2012 Task Sequence Templates, MDT File/Settings Packages

We're setting up SCCM 2012 integrated with MDT 2012 for our OSD. My main issue is finding actual reference material for the MDT task sequence templates when integrated with SCCM. The MDT documentation has a lot of information on variables and task sequences
    outside of SCCM integration.
One thing I'd love to find information on is what's actually going on during an MDT Client Task Sequence template. I found this http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/645a77b2-5be6-431d-818c-57d24b1435cc/understanding-mdt-task-sequence?forum=configmgrosd but
it doesn't delve into the kind of detail I'm looking for. I can dig up information through the MDT reference material on some things, but I just can't find anything out there that actually walks you through an SCCM/MDT task sequence template. For instance,
under State Restore what is being referenced in Install Software with base variable name PACKAGES, vs Install Applications and base variable name COALESCED APPS. And, where are you supposed to put these applications? That's just a specific example, I'm hoping
to find some kind of walkthrough.
Two things I'm hazy on are the MDT packages. What exactly are the MDT Settings Package, and the MDT Files Package? What are they used for? What benefits do you get out of using them? And, how exactly do you use them? I know one of them has something to do
with customsettings.ini, but what's the point of using SCCM with MDT if you still have to muck around in the customsettings.ini file?
Either way, it seems like there are a lot of references to SCCM task sequences, and a lot of references to MDT task sequences. But, not together. Which is a bit annoying since the MDT-integrated task sequence templates are very obviously different than either
SCCM or MDT by itself. Any help would be appreciated, even just information on where to look. Maybe I'm just really bad at finding reference material for SCCM/MDT. Thanks.

When MDT integrated with SCCM, We need the following MDT components to be created:
    MDT Boot image
    MDT Toolkit Files
    MDT Settings
The MDT boot image (for example) gives you extra abilities over the standard ConfigMgr boot image such as the ability to display a HTA Refer here:
    http://www.windows-noob.com/forums/index.php?/forum/98-frontends-and-web-services/
MDT Files once created, you will find UDIWizard_Config.Xml file in which you can start User driven Installation OSD using UDI designer.
Refer these links for better understanding:

    Thanks, Prabha G
Thanks for the quick reply. But, what about the MDT Settings Package? Also, both have a pretty big folder structure for each package. Surely it does more than just provide a couple xml and ini files? I'm not looking for anyone to spoon-feed me the information,
but at least a pointer in the right direction for finding the reference material. It seems for SCCM/MDT integration you have to go all over the place finding scraps of information to put together.
Also, any info on the SCCM/MDT task sequence templates? Thanks.

  • GW2012 sp1 and OES 11 requirements ?

I going to be migrating the last of our post offices to OES11 in the next couple weeks. When I am done, everything will be on oes11 (not sp1) and gw8.3 I then plan to upgrade to 2012sp1 once everything is ok with the PO's on Linux.
My question is, do I need to upgrade to OES11 sp1 before doing the upgrade to 2012sp1 ?

  • Hyper-V host server upgrade from Server 2008 R2 Enterprise SP1 to Server 2012 R2 Datacentre

We are about to upgrade our Hyper-V host servers from Server 2008R2 Enterprise SP1 to Server 2012 R2 Datacentre to take advantage of the latest Hyper-V features.
This only concerns the host servers and not the guest VMs running on the hosts (they will be upgraded next year).
This is what is running on our host servers:
    Host 1
    File,print & issuing CA server
    Exchange 2010
    SharePoint 2010
    Quickbooks server
    Domain controller 1
    Offline CRL CA
    Host 2
    SQL 2008
    Forefront TMG 2010
    Domain Controller 2
    Windows 7 client
With this is mind, I have drafted a rough action plan as follows:
Create a list of all file locations for VM memory, snapshots, virtual memory and Hyper-V config files
    Document all existing system settings
Gather server information, download drivers, RAID controller and other boot drivers & firmware updates (in case the in-place upgrade fails)
    Test all software media
Copy all VMs onto external data storage (NAS drive)
As part of the upgrade process we will redistribute some hard drive space i.e.
expand them to their new sizes and verify the data integrity of copied VMs by powering up each VM in a test environment
Wipe and adjust the sizes of the host partitions to accommodate the expanded VMs
Perform an in-place upgrade to Server 2012 R2 Datacenter
    Check EV, services etc
Change the default locations for VM memory, snapshots, virtual memory and Hyper-V config files
Upgrade Anti-virus and other system software
    Test the system
Are there any glaring omissions? Does anyone have any tips they can give me?

    Hi Marco,
always do a fresh Installation of your hyper-V Hosts, you could end up doing a lot of Troubleshooting with Drivers,Addons etc.. new Installation ist way faster.
Depending if you have a Cluster or Standalone Servers there are different ways to do it.
When you have installed your 2012 R2 Hyper-V Server you just can Import the VMs from the new Location.
As far as i know VMs with snapshots are not supported, so you have to remove them before doing that move and commit the changes to the vhd files, the VM need to be offline on 2008R2 to do that.
You do not Need to Export the VMs on 2008R2, just copy it, normaly you should have all Files of a VM in one Folder.
A working Backup is always your friend on such Tasks.
When the VMs are running on Hyper-V 2012R2 do not forget to Update the Integration Services.
Make Sure your Servers Hardware are still supported with 2012R2, see Server Catalog and Support Matrix of the Vendor.
And last one, where possible and supported convert the VHDs to VHDx Disks, after testing the first boot of the VM.

  • Where is System Center 2012 for download? I see Sp1 and R2

I have a DPM 2010 install that I am going to upgrade to 2012.
After doing a bunch of reading on here and other documentation,
a DPM 2010 -> 2012 in place upgrade is supported
    but 2010 -> 2012 Sp1 or R2 is not supported.
Ok fine...Where the hell can i download the plain 2012?!?! i can't find for download on microsoft's site at all.
Can someone help me out with this?!?
Sp1 and R2 i can find all day long, i even find the 2010 eval version but the 2012 without sp1 is nowhere to be seen.

If you are planning to upgrade to 2012 R2, when doing the planning make sure your DPM Install is running on a atleast Server 2008 R2 with SP1, and that your SQL Server that is hosting the DPM Database is running atleast SQL Server 2008 R2
    with SP2.
Also make note that if you bring DPM up to 2012 R2 you can for the time being not backup Server 2003 and Server 2008 operating systems.
    Kind Regards,
    Tobias

  • Windows 2012 upgrade plan to R2 hosted with SCOM 2012 SP1

    Dear Experts,
Currently we are hosting SCOM 2012 SP1 on Windows 2012 Operating System and the Server team plan to upgrade Windows server OS 2012 to Windows OS 2012 R2.
So, Is there any Potential road blocks and things to take care for SCOM 2012 SP1 if we want to upgrade the Windows 2012 R2 OS.

    Hi,
I have seen this a couple of times without any issues.
Just make sure you backup all SCOM related (databases if local, management packs etc).

  • Issue while Upgrading vmm 2012 sp1 to vmm 2012 R2

    Hi,
We are trying to upgrade the vmm setup to 2012 r2 ,we retained the existing vmm database
While upgrading to vmm 2012 r2 , got the below warning message:
"The VMM database contains one or more services in a failed state. Upgrading to VMM in System Center 2012 R2 is not recommended. Retry the upgrade after you have reinstalled VMM for System Center 2012 SP1 and repaired or removed these services. Click
    Cancel to exit the upgrade."
Tried to find the bug using the vmm logs file like
    errlevel
    setupwizard
    vmmserver
In erlevel log, the entry was "0".
Any idea what the issue is????

    1. You just need CU3 - these are cumulative
    2. Sure, you can take a temporary snapshot. You need to take a SQL backup also.
    3. Don't forget to test the upgrade process on a copy of your site database (use /testdbupgrade)
    This guide may help you

  • ZAV GroupWise 2012 SP1 PDF Attachment error

    Hi,
I used the novell template for GroupWise 2012 SP1.
Attachements for Office 2010 are working fine.
But when opening PDF's its giving an error for protected mode.
I am using spoonreg virtual.exe on the client.
Can somebody help me with this?
    Joeri

    Joeri,
Can you verify if the virtual file system for this build contains the following folder:
    @SYSTEM@\macromed\flash
If so, create a text file called mms.cfg, with the following data:
    ProtectedMode=0
Add it under that folder in the virtual file system and rebuild, then try using the virtual app and see if the PDFs still give you problems. You can also try building this in ZAV 10, to see if you get any better results.

  • Groupwise 2012 SP2 and Office 2010 integration

I have recently virtualized Groupwise 2012 and all seems to work well, Messenger launches on startup and it integrates with other applications etc but the only problem I have is when I open an Office 2010 document I get the following message popping up:
Please wait while Windows configures Microsoft Office Standard 2010
    Gathering Required Information
This is in a MSI/Windows Installer box, I can only imagine that its installing some kind of user settings but I have scoured the internet and imported all the reg keys etc that I can find. This also happens everytime a document is launched, if it happened once a session I could maybe understand.
Has anyone else experienced this issue with Groupwise and Office?
    Environment is ZAV 10 & Windows 7 x64
    Thanks
    Rob
