OES2SP3 Windows folder size incorrect when shortcut present

We have seen a strange situation several times now. If we attempt to copy a folder from one Novell NSS volume on a server to another NSS volume on another server, in this case OES2sp3 Linux, the copy will not succeed because it reports there is not enough disk space. Even if the folder is say 8GB in size and there is 20GB of space free on the other volume it still will not copy.
By copying a small amount of folders at a time, we have located Windows shortcuts(lnk) files in certain folders that point to other Novell NSS volumes on our system. Users create them by accident or on purpose sometimes. Somehow Windows(Novell Client) is seeing that link and adding the space it points to instead of just the size of the lnk itself (Tiny) to the total amount of space used.
We've seen this multiple times now and simply deleting the link allows the copy to occur and the correct amount of space to be reported.
Has anyone else seen this and is there a permanent fix, short of just deleting shortcuts from the OES Linus server's NSS volume?
Thanks,
-Nyle

  • Font size incorrect when printing smartform

    Hi,
I have a smartform containing many smaller windows with frames. One big window should show a word in grey and in big letters behind all the other windows.
In my smartstyles, I have used the font family "HELVE", font style bold and the size 72. When I print to a sap printer device, the word is printed in very small letters and in black. When I´m printing about LOCL and then on the same printer, the fontsize is correct.
What can I do to change that?
The second problem is, that the letters are shown over the frames of the other windows, but it should be completely in the background. I put the window with the backgorund letters as the first window on the screen to get it behind all others, but it´s not working....
    Cheers Arne

Define the paragraphs & character formats using SMARTSTYLES & use them in your smartform.
You have to give the smartstyle name in the Form attributes-->Output options for the formats to be used in your smartform.
frm ur pc only u can get this font file..
go to control panel , in tat go to font and select your desired font file..
now give the path of this font file in se73..

  • Folder size changes when it moves to my capsule

I copied files from my WD external hard disk and the folder I moved now is smaller in size and has a different (higher) file count. Is this normal?

You need to look at the files.. actually see what files are added.. Apple adds a couple of small files to its directories.. indexes.. these won't show up unless you turn on show hidden files.
Files can also take more or less room.. depending on the sector size in the disk.
Just check that the files are same.. even if the size on disk is different.
Open a get info for a file on the WD.. and look at the actual file size.. that is what matter.
730,991 bytes (733 KB on disk)
When the file is copied to a disk it will fill up to the end of the sector.. so there is also a size on disk.. it is different.

  • Folder size changes when copied

I bought two identical external hard drives.  They are both formatted the same - Mac OS extended journaled.
When I copy some large folders from one drive to the other, and then check their exact sizes with get-info, sometimes they are identical and sometimes they are different, usually in a small amount.
Should I be worried that I'm losing some data?  Or is it common that folders are not read accurately to the last bit, but that they are in fact identical?

Really?  I'm the only person who has ever seen this?  I make a copy of a large folder from one Mac extended journaled drive to another Mac extended journaled drive and the new copy is slightly different in size, per get-info?
Surely I'm not the only person encountering this...
    Can anyone advise?

  • Storage Spaces: SSD tier size incorrect when using EnclosureAware option in a pool

    Hi folks,
We're about to deploy Storage Spaces in our test environment, but we encountered an issue while configuring Enclosure Awareness on Storage Pools.
When we create a Storage Pool (over 3 JBOD's) and set the option EnclosureAwarenessDefault to $True, the SSD tier size automatically decreases / shrinks to 12GB (sometimes 18GB sometimes 0GB).
Without EnclosureAwarenessDefault, we get 1110 GB of SSD size available.
The same behavior is seen when enabling -EnclosureAwareness on Storage Space (virtual disk) level.
    A summary of our configuration:
3 SOFS connected twice to each JBOD (LSI 9207-8e - SES 3 ) = HCL certified
3 JBOD arrays (Quanta M4600H) (Firmware Management SCSI Enclosure Service (SES-2) = HCL certified
Each JBOD array has 16 HDD and 4 SSD.
SOFS are fully patched, including KB 2913766

    Hi Partner,
Thank you for your detailed information and sorry for the delayed response.
After consulting with some senior engineers, please check the following:
Server manager does not let you set the column count of the space, which means that it is automatically selecting 6 as the column count, as there are 12 SSDs.  Unfortunately, the column count must be less than the number of disks of each type in each
enclosure (limited by 4 SSDs), otherwise space creation will fail, and estimation will produce a small, somewhat random number.  If you create a space through powershell and specify –NumberOfColumns 4 then it should work.
    Hopefully it helps.
Feel free to let me know if you have any question. Thank your for your time.

  • Folder size indication

It would be helpful when in folder view to be able to see the size of the folder - I fill folders until they are a DVD-worth and then archive and create a new folder (DAM approach). Currently I have to go to windows to see the size and then back to Bridge to decide what to do next.
A folder size indication when folder on Content panel + perhaps a right click to give properties etc. as per Windows.

This is about as minimal as Finder lets it get -
As far as I can tell that arrangement is displayed only when viewing the Desktop.
Finder uses a slightly longer one for a window whose view is set to Icon -
...and the one I posted previously for windows whose view is set to List.
In Finder, there is actually only one View Options display and it is live; what is shown in it will change as you change the view mode for a window, and also will change to reflect the choices/settings if you click on a different window.
Perhaps Path Finder has altered how that behaves. However, try some experimenting. Open the View Options display, and then try navigating into a nest of folders. Try highlighting different things in the Path Finder displays - the name of a folder in a list, the name of a column display, etc. At some point you may be able to access the long form for the particular folder's window.
On the other hand, Path Finder seems to act by changing how Finder's info is displayed. In doing so, it may also be interfereing with Finder's ability to present applicable choices in the View Options screen (perhaps because Finder is not coded to understand Path Finder). If you determine that is indeed the case, suggest you send a 'bug' report back to the publisher, explaining the problem and asking them to fix it in a future release of Path Finder.

  • Outlook 2010 - Data File Properties/Folder Size verses Windows Explorer pst file size

I am running Outlook 2010 32bit Version 14.0.6129.5000 on a Windows PC running Windows 7 Professional.  All updates from MS are up to date.
I have several pst files I open with Outlook 2010. The size of the files displayed in Outlook are very different than what is displayed in Windows Explorer.
For example one of the pst file called "business.pst" when opened Outlook displays it under "Data File Properties -> Folder Size" that the Total Size (including subfolders) is 764,354 KB.  Windows Explorer says
the file size is 1,190,417 KB.
For some reason MS Outlook 2010 is displaying the wrong folder size.  Any ideas why this is the case?
    Thanks,
    Pat

Outlook mailbox grows as you create and receive items. When you delete items, the size of the Outlook Data File (.pst and .ost) file might not decrease in proportion to the data that you deleted, untill it has been compacted.
Normally, after you have deleted items from an Outlook Data File (.pst), the file will be automatically compacted in the background when you’re not using your computer and Outlook is running.
For an exception, when the Outlook Data File (.pst) is somehow corrupt, the compaction might not finish correctly. So the size of the Outlook Data File (.pst) file might remain the same before compaction.
To solve this, try run the
scanpst to fix the Outlook Data File (.pst) file first, after that, we can
    manually start the compact command.
When finished, compare the file size again.

  • Finder won't display folder size in "Size" column or Info window

Normally, the Finder window will display a folder's size in the Size column. However, I have one folder which shows as "Zero KB" in the Size column. When I open the General Info window, the Size reads as "Zero KB on disk (Zero bytes) for 0 items."
In order to get the folder size I have to go into the folder, select all folders (there's many), then with either the Summary Info or Inspector window, it'll show the folder size ("185.32 GB on disk").
Why is this occurring in only this folder? Is it because it's a large folder or a folder with many subfolders?
I'm running Snow Lep 10.6.2. The folder is on an external drive in FAT32 format. I've already tried deleting the "com.apple.finder.plist" file and rebooting.
    Thanks for any help.

go to view menu->show view options and check the box 'calculate all sizes". then click "use as defaults".

Hi Doug! I was having the same problem but after reading a lot of answers I found the solution. First of all you need unistall ALL THE SOFTWARE OF APPLE from your computer, I mean BONJOUR, QUICKTIME, ITUNES, APPLE SOFTWARE UPDATE, APPLE MOBILE DEVICE SUPPORT and the other one that is from compatibility with apps of apple, after that you must verify if this folders are removed if they don't then remove it:
    C:\Program Files\Bonjour
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\
    C:\Program Files\iTunes\
    C:\Program Files\iPod\
If you have a 64-bit version of Windows, you'll need to confirm that the following folders have been removed:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Bonjour
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\
    C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes\
    C:\Program Files (x86)\iPod\
Then if you have ccleaner you can use it to clean all registers left, then reboot and try to install iTunes 11.1.4 again as administrator... That works for me, I hope that helps you too...

  • Acrobat Form button that when clicked will open a Windows Folder?

Is there a way to have a button on an Adobe Acrobat Form that when clicked will open a Windows Folder located with a predefined UNC path? I'm looking for a scripting solution.
    UNC example: \\myserver\myshares\engineering\changeorders
    I'm using LiveCycle Designer ES v. 8.2.
Thanks for any help that you can give.

This is in Internet Explorer 6 (yes, horrible, I know), but we use a standardized image where I work, with pretty intense GPO's.
Don't know what happens if you right-click the link; but from any other machine (with the same image) the same link will open with all three options "Open", "Save", and "Cancel".  These are not freshly imaged machines, so some setting must of been changed along the way to make this happen on this user's computer.
Repaired Acrobat, but this resolved nothing.
Also checked in IE to make sure that Adobe was enabled under the Programs tab.
Also, the option to view a pdf within the browser is not turned on.
    Any other ideas?

Thanks for the help. I installed CC and it fixed everything but Photoshop. I guess I will have to use my old laptop for images until Adobe fixes the problem. Do you know of a place where we can send issues like these to Adobe?

  • Folder Size in Explorer, Windows 7

    Dear Readers:
I would like to know if Windows 7 includes the option to view Folder Size in the Explorer window interface (an option similar to viewing [file] Size)?  I have attempted to use various software to do this in Windows Vista such as Tree Size Professional but the help files say that Windows Vista does not allow viewing of Folder Sizes in Explorer.
    Sincerely,
    penciline

For those who like to roll their own,  this VB Script code will work with Windows 7 and show a simple list with folders and sizes from a cmd prompt.  You can specify the depth.  It's very fast.  Run with no parameters for instructions.
