# of current subscribers

Can somebody please point out to a report where a publisher can see the  # of current (not lapsed) subscribers to a publication?
Thank you,
Mark

Hi Henric,
I gave some thinking on this since yesterday.
It might be worth investigating to see if you could override the listener handling and registration methods which near cache uses so that you could use whatever notifications are sent anyway.
1. : I can't answer this at the moment.
2. a: I believe the key match is done on the binary key. I don't see any reason why not to use the binary key.
2. b: I think it depends on how many listeners. Look at the documentation of the multicast-threshold-percent setting within the multicast-listener configuration.
Best regards,
Robert

  • Creative Cloud NAB special for current subscribers

    Quick question about cloud subscritption.
My cloud subscription is set to renew in June, but I see that you have a NAB special offering adobe Creative Cloud for $30/month.  As a current cloud sbscriber, am I eligeable for this offer?  It would definitely be appreciated.
    Thanks!
EDIT:  As an aside, could someone please clear up who exactly is eligible for this promotion?  I'm on the phone with Adobe support, and the sales guy seems to think that only NAB attendees are eligible for this special.

    Hi Graham,
    I found this link
    http://success.adobe.com/en/na/programs/events/1303_30759_nab.html?sdid=KEYJL
The offer appears to be catering to NAB attendees but doesn't specifically call this out as being a requirement to use the promo.

  • Black Friday deal question for current subscribers.

As a current subscriber is it possible for me to switch my plan to the black friday deal pricing? I've only been on my plan for 2 months.

You might want and have to wait. The iPhone 4 is good but next year the iPhone 5 could be at the 4s price now and 4s be free.
Apple does not let specials really go through unless there a new phone or iPad etc. Verizon doesent allow an early early upgrad since they let go the yearly upgrade. You can add a line but is the iPhone 8gig really worth it? You have to ask yourself that.

  • Adding Subscribers to Shared Photo streams?

Recently created a photo stream/album that I identified to share with four individuals; however, realized that I needed to add some additional addressees. Unfortunately, I could not figure out exactly HOW to add new "subscribers?"  I went to the Help Center, where their "Manage subscribers to your shared photo streams" information did outline steps; unfortunately, the instructions for adding new subscribers does not appear to be available on/in my system???  I can only see (have the options to change):
    The Album name
    Description
    Deletion of those already selected
Turn on option for Public Website
    ...and no others???
    Can anyone help in this?
    Thanks.

  • Will I lose our subscribers if I move our podcast from Mobileme to GoDaddy?

We currently publish a podcast to Mobileme. Our podcast has a large number of subscribers that we have built up over the past few years.
Problem is that our podcast is constantly being disabled on Mobileme because we are exceeding bandwidth limits and we need to move to a new hosting company (ie. Godaddy).
If we move to a third party hosting company, will this cause us to lose our current subscribers?
    Can someone please advise?

Thank you for this information. I have read it and still have some questions, as I know virtually nothing about how RSS works.
The instructions say that I should "use the <itunes:new-feed-url> tag described in the iTunes RSS Tags section below. The tag will cause the iTunes Store to be updated with the new feed URL, as well as all iTunes client versions that support podcasting".
    My questions are:
    1. Where can I find my RSS feed? I went into my iDisk > Web > Podcast, where I found a file called "rss.xml". Is this my RSS file? Or should I be looking somewhere else? I use iWeb and don't know where to find it.
    2. To be clear, I am only inserting these words: "<itunes:new-feed-url>" into the RSS feed. Nothing more. I don't need to give the name of new hosting company or anything like that? That being so, how does iTunes find where the media files are located?
    3. How do I upload the new RSS feed? Do I "Publish Site Changes" in iWeb, or does iTunes find the RSS feed all on it's own?
Sorry to sound like sound so ignorant, I just find this very complicated and I don't want to lose our subscribers.

  • When will Verizon/Motorola release a DVR with MORE STORAGE?!?! This is pathetic

Just thought I would repost a letter I sent to verizon beggin g for more DVR storage, as 160 GB of  storage is pathetic, and laughable whne I can buy a 2 TB drvie for $100. I realize it is Motorola's fault we are locked to 160 GB at the moment, but Verizon is the one who chose them as a vendor, so this is hardly an excuse. Motorola should be able to turn on the USB port on the box for additional storage at the very least. Anyway, here's my letter, posted out of desperation and frustration more so than expecting any great results.
"Hello. I am anxiously wondering when you plan to offer larger hard drive capacities in your DVRs. We have FiOS now and are happy with the service, however, the fact that the devices can only hold 20 hours of HD content is pathetic, and has us looking to switch back to Dish Network, who allow you to use external hard drives via the USB port on the back of the receivers to add record time. We don't have the kind of lives where we can watch TV every night, so we often have to wait until we can find time to go through our favorite shows, and 20 hours cannot hold more than 1 or 2 episodes of any series with the 10 or so shows we enjoy watching in HD. I realize Motorola makes the boxes and motorla ultimately controls the capacity, but Verizon MUST have some pull here, and if not, you should really look into buying a company that makes boxes and move the operation in house for the sake of keeping customers. Give that a 2 Terabyte drive that can hold over 12 times the amount of shows as the pathetic 120 GB drive in my recorder can be bought at the local best buy for $100, I am sure a large company such as yourself could pick them up for far less. PLEASE make increasing the storage of the DVRs a TOP priority, and please let us customers know your plans with regards to storage in the near future. The capacity has not increased in years, despite more and more HD TV customers signing on, and the number of HD stations tripling. Thank you "

That IS good news.  We're constantly juggling and recording in SD because of the low storage capacity in the Motorola unit.  Any idea on the time frame for the new DVR and will current subscribers be able to upgrade?  I was just about to upgrade our old Series 2 Tivo to Series 3 HD and then do the home-upgrade on that to 1.5TB.

  • How do I Update Video Podcast Episode?

I uploaded a new m4v file and updated my xml feed file with the new file name and a new release date/time. I kept the title the same (see http://feeds.thesailingchannel.com/TheSailingChannel | the C Cushions episode). My feed url reflects the change but the subscription doesn't update in iTunes (even when I force a manual update). I currently have the orginal episode in my library. I'm wondering: do I have to delete the original episode before itunes will update? Should I also change the title of the updated episode in my xml file? I want all current subscribers to get the update, so having a user delete the current version first is not an option. Suggestions?

  • V1.x presets in 2 are the cause of blockiness

I wish stumbled across this before:
"Compressor 1.x settings do not work with Compressor 2"
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302019
I was inadvertently using the old presets (you should not see a MPEG2 - 60min option which is what I favoured). Now although this did improve things markedly I would still say 2-pass VBR 6.2 was better in V1.2.1 - but i haven't done extensive tests.
Cv.2.0.1 CBR is excellent, I wonder if I can fit 2hrs on a SL DVD using it. Consider:
    Compressor v2.0.1 DVPAL 2m 39s 550MB QT file:
    CBR 6.2 file size = 114.8 mb
    VBR 6.2 2-pass = 131.5 mb
I expected VBR to be smaller as I thought it compressed highly when there was little motion.
I import QT files into Compressor, though direct export from FCP works fine too. (FCP 5.0.3, QT 7.0.3)

I'm also experiencing the same problems using Rogers High-speed here in west Toronto.
If Mr. Brace's assertion is correct then it's absolutely unacceptable for Rogers to just arbitrarily modify their clients' networking mechanism simply because they're trying to manage "BitTorrents, P2P, IRC" etc.
Are we Rogers clients not all subject to enforced bandwidth quotas? Beyond the quota what right does Rogers have to deny my internet usage should that extend to "large media files from more than 1 server"?
Considering the ever-increasing spotlight on the iPod and all things Apple, I'd have to hope that Rogers aren't totally asleep at the helm and realize that they need to address the situation (or disprove it!) before current subscribers vote with their wallets and take their business elsewhere.
I'm going to contact Rogers during business hours tomorrow and have my call escalated as high as I can get it before explaining the situation and asking them what they plan on doing about it - stay tuned... I'm sure that they'll tell me that they've taken care of everything and we're back in business

  • Building a better near cache

I'm currently putting some code together to use for frequently updated data. The data set is large enough to warrant a distributed cache, and it will be read frequently by other cluster members than the key owner. To add to this, when the data changes it will trigger some business logic on the cluster members that had previously read the data.
In effect, it is a distributed cache in which clients can subscribe to particular keys to be notified when the underlying data changes.
The data is volatile and has very high update frequency so there's no point in backing it up on a second node, so I've configured a distributed-cache with 0 backups.
I've implemented a working prototype by wrapping a near cache and front-map listener. The wrapper maintains a set of current subscribers for each key, and each time a key is invalidated as per the near-schemes invalidation strategy the value is re-requested if the subscriber set is non empty. This works fine, but I'd like to get rid of the extra invalidate and get packages and instead get the updated value sent directly instead of the invalidation.
So here's a couple of questions:
    1) Is it possible to get this behaviour from a near cache out of the box (docs are slightly vague, and I haven't been able to get it to work by trial and error)
    2) If I were to stop using a near-cache and register a map listener for the keys directly on the distributed cache:
    a) is the key match evaluated on the object form or the binary representation of the cached key - I'm concerned about the cpu overhead when deserialising the keys?
    b) if there's more than one listener for the specified key, will the update package be sent using unicast or multicast?

    Hi Henric,
I gave some thinking on this since yesterday.

  • Podcast "home page" doesn't update

Any help would be appreciated. Two of our five podcast "home pages" don't show new episodes. However, current subscribers receive the episodes. A lack of new episodes at the home page for these podcasts makes it look dated.
I can't seem to find a difference in the feeds that work fine and the ones we produce that don't update. A link to see an example of a non-updating "home page" is below. Thanks [mjm]

    You can try:
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
    See:
    * [https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Basic+Troubleshooting#w_8-make-a-new-profile Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile]

  • Subscribe to Podcast button- can I redirect?

I already use feeder to post my podcast to iTunes, so I have been removing the subscribe now button from my iWeb page, as it seems it creates a new feed. Is there any way to repoint the "Subscribe" button so it links to my already published feed?

"Does that mean that anyone who subscribes by clicking the button on my iWeb page isn't being counted by FeedBurner?" Technically not... but it eventually can! ...more on that later.
"can I reroute that button to go to the FeedBurner link instead of the iWeb link?" Yes and no. Yes there is a fix but no, if you do not do anything they will not be counted. I'll explain...
First, do not use the iWeb button. Remove it and create your own with your iTunes ID. Link it to something like this (yours will be different): http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=123401561&s=143 441
    I use an iTunes logo
Then modifiy your iDisk/iWeb/yoursite/Podcast/rss.xml with TextEdit to ad the line:
    <itunes:new-feed-url>http://feeds.feedburner.com/yourfeedburnerpodcast</itunes:new-feed-url>
    ...right before </itunes:owner>
Ping your iTunes ID to refesh it, check it, and presto! Your current subscribers will have their feed refeshed automatically when they open and refresh iTunes.
So far, changes to the iWeb have not altered the XML file but you may have to add the line again with the addition of an entry deletes it. I honestly don't know if it will as I'll be adding an episode in about three weeks.
This solved my "podcasting blindly" problem. I hope it can solve yours. The bauty of it is that if you change your podcast host, you only need to update uor feedburner profile.

  • What can be used in the place of iWeb?

I am new to the Mac world. I am just finding out that iweb is no longer avaliable as part of ilife. what can be used in it's place?

iWeb still is available as part of iLife. However, MobileMe and its attendant server service, iDisk, are no longer available (for new subscribers - both will expire for current subscribers in June 2012).
You can still buy and use iWeb, but cannot publish your created site to iDisk. You can publish to any of the many web hosting sites available (HostGator, GoDaddy, etc., etc.).
But even though you can still buy iWeb as part of iLife, Apple hasn't upgraded it for several years. So you're better off using other web creation software. There's several around. I happen to use Sandvox and like it.

  • When creating an Android app in DPS App Builder, why do I not have the option of "Multi Folio with Amazon Subscription"?

The only option available is Google Play. Why is this happening?

I found a folder with an old APK file that worked. I wish I could edit it because it has the wrong splash screen attached to it, but at least the app is working. I wish I could have the app back in app builder and be able to edit that. I understand that you all aren't going to support these Amazon Subscription apps but we have current subscribers and they may have a full year left. We are stuck with an app that we still need to use until their subscriptions are up before we can make a change to how our android user are going to receive their magazines. Adobe should allow some sort of support for this type of situation. Now I have an app with a bad splash screen that looks completely unprofessional. Is there anyway to recover the file in App Builder? Is that what you were referring to or were you just referring to the APK file? I do appreciate all your help and attention to this.

  • How to append recorded files.

    Two questions.
I am using adobe dvrcast to record my live streams. the problem I am having is when I stop the encode during a live stream, a new file is not created, the existing stream is written over. How can I preventive this from occuring.
Is there a way to have all vod files that are in one folder to roll over to the next file during play back.

Thanks for the quick response. I am using FMLE 3 and FMS 3.5. I have changed the code per your suggestion. However, the file still does not append when i press the stop button in FMLE. After pressing stop, when I press start button in FMLE again, the file size starts at zero.

  • Is Adobe changing rules midstream for existing Adobe Create customers?

Why could I create an MS word document from a pdf a month ago under my adobe create annual subscription but  cannot do it now without an upgratde?   My  last year's subscription  is still active  and has not yet  expired.    Are you really changing the rules midstream for current subscribers ?

I'm having the same problem and unfortunately, it doesnt matter which software i'm using... Word,
Publisher, and even photoshop.  I have Adobe Acrobat Pro and no matter how I try to convert, i'm still getting the same problem.
