# of windows in PPM

hi,
Everything in PPM portal is opening a new window.  If a user wants to operate with only one window like when an item is opened, it just opens in the same dashboard window as a embedded one, what is the setting that the user/admin can do for that user.  Can you please navigate the specifit setting in Content adminstrator tab of the portal.
Pls reply.

Hi Sujata,
You can achieve this by launchpad transaction (lpd_cust). Select the role RPM_RIH and select instance DRILLDOWN.
For the node INM_UI_NAV/ITEM_DETAILS, go to the advance parameters.
And change the navigation mode in portal parameters to INPLACE. It will open portfolio item in same window.

  • Secondary Resource in the operation "SETUP" of a PPM

    Hi experts,
    I need to record directly in APO (SCC03) a PPDS PPM with a secondary resource which should be considered in the setup activity
    I recorded the following:
    Operation          Activity          Activity Type          Mode           Resource
    0010                    0010                    S                         1          WLINE_1
    0010                    0010                    S                         1          SECONDARY_RESOURCE
    0020                    0010                    P                         1          WLINE_1
    In the activity 0010 (operation 0010) I placed a flag in the field "setup activity"
    When I tried to actívate the PPM,  the system sent me the message:
         OPERATION 0010 ONLY CONTAINS A SETUP ACTIVITY
    How I can to solve this issue?
    How I can include a Secondary Resource in the setup operation of the PPM?
    Regards,

    How are you logging into the system? Are you using the Fingerprint to login or the password in Client Security Solution (CSS)? Remember that Client Security Solution controls your settings for the Password Manager (Security settings for Fingerprint reader data are controlled by CSS also)
    You can go to Start -> All Programs -> ThinkVantage (or Lenovo Care) -> Client Security Solution
    If you have CSS version 8, you should see a Menu Bar at the top.. You can click on Advanced , then Reset - this will allow you to clear all password data from the Password Manager.
    In addition to the "Reset" option, you also have the ability to "Manage" your settings. Use this to make changes to way you log into Windows at boot. You should have 5 options listed under "Manage". This also allows you to decide whether or not to use the Fingerprint when signing on.
    If you are trying to clear you fingerprint data, that can be done from BIOS
    F1 -> Security -> Fingerprint -> Erase Internal Fingerprint Data -> "Yes" to confirm.
    You should also take the time to read this Guide on Fingerprint Reader Tips below:
    http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-59650
    Also read over "Client Security Solution 8.0- Considerations"
    http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-66965
    I hope this will provide some help.

  • How to define Side Panels for linked to Child Window Applications

    We are trying to use the NWBC Side Panel with PPM 6.0 in NWBC 3.5.  We have a Role that has a menu defined that gives the users a link to the INM_WORKCENTER_APP which displays the current user's Tasks in a table.
    When we click on a task in the table it opens the task details using the CPROJECTS_FPM application in a new window.  This new window that opens up doesn't have any of the Side Panels that we have defined on the role with the main menu links.
    We have tried to add the side panel using different application alias and at different levels in the Role, but can't get a Side Panel to show up on the child window.  We even tried to switch the window to open INPLACE in the main window and it still switches to no side panels.  The only side panels we are able to see is side panels that the user has manually added under connections and the Data Context Viewer side panels.
    Is NWBC capable of having side panels to be defined to be available for these linked to child applications that are called from a main application screen?  If so, what is the possible configurations we need to make on the role for this to work properly?
    Thanks in advance for any help!

    Wanted to close this thread with the solution that worked for us.
    We had to change the Launchpad configuration for Role CPROJECTS Instance OIF.  We changed the Application from a Web Dynpro ABAP type to Object Based Navigation.  Set the Application Parameters Business Object to PROJECT and Operation to DISPLAY.
    Then for our role defined in PFGC for our NWBC, we added a new menu item to the Web Dynpro application CPROJECTS_FPM with Configuration CPROJECTS_FPM.  Then under Object Based Navigation we set the Object Type to PROJECT and Method to DISPLAY to match what we set above in the Launchpad.  Then set the menu item to be invisible since we didn't want it to show to users.
    Now when we launch the child window it uses OBN and sees the definition in our role and utilizes the same Side Panel definitions defined for the role.

  • Fiori app in new window

    Dear all,
    We have installed the PPM Fiori apps on our system; we have managed to get these four apps on the launchpad. However when we click one of the tiles the error "Failure - unable tot start app" occurs. If we do the same but now right click and open in New Tab or New Window the app is started without any problems.
    Has anyone experienced the same behaviour?
    Regards,
    John.

  • Integrating Portal and PPM

    Dear Experts,
    I'm trying to integrate PPM's web dynpro abap applications in Portal. My basis team has setup everything regarding SSO and it works OK.
    When i define a WDA Iview, I set the following properties (as any standard WDA):
    Namespace: sap
    Application Name: inm_workcenter_app (this is the WDA that shows Project & Portfolio Management)
    System: SAPPPM
    Everything works perfect and the WDA is displayed in the iview.
    That iview shows a list of the available projects, and when you click one of them, it opens a new window showing the project's detail.
    The thing is, that when the new window tries to open, it shows an error that is logged in Portal's default trace as follows:
    Caused by: com.sapportals.portal.prt.runtime.PortalRuntimeException: Exception in SAP Application Integrator occured: Unable to parse template &\#39;<System.Access.WAS.protocol>://<System.Access.WAS.hostname>/sap/bc/webdynpro/<WebDynproNamespace>/<WebDynproApplication>/;sap-ext-sid=<ESID[url_ENCODE]>?sap-ep-iviewhandle=007<ESID[HASH]>&sap-wd-configId=<WebDynproConfiguration>&sap-ep-iviewid=<IView.ShortID>&sap-ep-pcdunit=<IView.PCDUnit.ShortID>&sap-client=<System.client>&sap-language=<Request.Language>&sap-accessibility=<User.Accessibility[SAP_BOOL]>&sap-rtl=<LAF.RightToLeft[SAP_BOOL]>&sap-ep-version=<Portal.Version[url_ENCODE]>&sap-wd-tstamp=<$TimeStamp>&<ProducerInfo>&sap-explanation=<User.Explanation[SAP_BOOL]>&<StylesheetIntegration[IF_true PROCESS_RECURSIVE]>&<Authentication>&<DynamicParameter[PROCESS_RECURSIVE]>&<ForwardParameters[QUERYSTRING]>&<ApplicationParameter[PROCESS_RECURSIVE]>&\#39;; the problem occured at position 310. *Cannot process expression <System.client> because Invalid System Attribute:*

    Could anyone please help me?
    Any ideas would be appreciated.

    Hi,
    Since it's a WDA application can you try running the app from Backend system SE80 and see if it works?
    I assume when running the application from Portal it uses Object Based Navigation(OBN) to navigate and open the details in new window.
    Within the application there will be code to call the page, make sure you are using the same System Alias within the application and also see the OBN is setup properly.
    Can you also verify if the Standard Application from the Business Package works fine.

  • Installing SAPNWRFC on Windows XP

    Greetings,
    I've being trying to install SAPNWRFC on a Windows XP machine with ActivePerl 5.8.8 without luck.
    I've made some research (including this thread NW RFC SDK 7.10, sapnwrfc.dll error in Win2003, XP) but nothing seems to help.
    After installing Visual C++ 2005 Express Edition (and other dependencies, including patches) I can compile the sources from SAPNWRFC without error messages, but after creating a PPM package and running a test program, I got the following error messages:
    "This application has failed to start because SAPNWRFC.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem".
    And another one:
    "Can't load 'C:/Perl/site/lib/auto/SAPNW/Connection/Connection.dll' for module SAPNW::Connection: load_file:The specified module could not be found at C:/Perl/lib/DynaLoader.pm line 230.
    at C:\RFC\ajustenpl.pl line 4
    Compilation failed in require at C:\RFC\ajustenpl.pl line 4.
    BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at C:\RFC\ajustenpl.pl line 4."
    Forcing the DLL's to be founded (copying them to system32 folder, just to test) did not help (a different error message was generated, although).
    Using "nmake install" instead of creating a PPM showed no difference too.
    I took a look at the VC redistribuition package, but it seems to me that it is necessary only for workstations without a development environment. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
    I'm clueless and to be honest I'm not happy at all to have all this trouble. Why isn't there a PPM package (or a precompiled tarball) of SAPNWRFC?
    Thank you all.

    > Well here is a perfect opportunity for you to do

    Once I'm able to compile and get SAPNWRFC working in my box I'll be happy to generate a new PPD.
    Just tell me later how should I sent it to you.

    Compilation of any C/C++ code in Windows seems to be a pain. Lot's of downloads (some of them useless) and no complete documentation about it (at least in one place).
    Having a working PPD is <b>really</b> a great help.
    > 1. The standard MSVCRT.dll (required by ruby.exe)

    This DLL is available there in my box.

    I didn't know about this possibility, so I didn't try it.
    > 3. sapnwrfc.dll requires the 8.0 SP1

    I installed the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86) (here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=200b2fd9-ae1a-4a14-984d-389c36f85647&DisplayLang=en) but it didn't help.
    The funny part is that I installed the PPD of the SAPNWRFC (version 0.8) and receive the same error messages. For sure is a configuration problem in my box, not with SAPNWRFC.
    I did a research on Google for some hints about defining library repositories on Windows and I got some directions here: http://llg.cubic.org/docs/vc7.html.
    Defining a %LIB% system variable, with the directory C:\Program Files\SAP\FrontEnd\SapGui\nwrfcsdk\lib included didn't help either. Here is the content of the variable:
    "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Platform SDK for Windows Server 2003 R2\Lib;C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\VC\LIB;C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\SDK\v2.0\lib;C:\Program Files\SAP\FrontEnd\SapGui\nwrfcsdk\lib "
    I went throght the whole process again (compilation, creating a PPD file from version 0.11) with no luck.

    I reinstalled everything in my box, just to be sure:
    Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0

    Writing Makefile for SAPNW::Connection
    Writing Makefile for sapnwrfc
    After compilation, I checked the Connection.dll file for dependencies using the Dependency Walker program. It pointed three missing DLL that could not be found:
    - SAPNWRFC.dll
    - LIBSAPUCUM.dll
    - DWMAPI.dll
    The third dll I just copied to system32 folder and it worked fine.
    I tried to compile SAPNWRFC several times, forcing the location of the DLLs using the system variables LIB and LIBPATH for VC++ compiler. Same error again. I double checked with Dependency walker, no change.
    I forced the test copying the missing dll to system32 and repeated the test, which results in the following errors messages:
    Windows error message:
    "R6034
    An application has made an attemp to load the C runtime library incorrectly."
    Message from the Perl program:
    "Can't load 'C:/Perl/site/lib/auto/SAPNW/Connection/Connection.dll' for module SAPNW::Connection: load_file:A dynamic link library (DLL) initialization routine failed at C:/Perl/lib/DynaLoader.pm line 230.

    Compilation failed in require at C:\ajustenpl.pl line 4.
    BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at C:\RFC\ajustenpl.pl line 4."
    <b>Updated 2:</b>
    After some researching, I found some issues regarding the DWMAPI.dll installed in Windows XP when one update the Internet Explorer to version 7. I made a downgrade and start testing again. This time, DWMAPI.dll did not showed any issue in the Dependency Walker (DW).
    After that, the DW program shows only dependencies about the MPR.DLL and MSJAVA.DDL. Regarding Microsoft Technet website, this is not an issue and could be ignored safely.
    Anyway, the DLLs from nwrfcsdk were still missing. After adding the nwrfcsdk's path to the PATH global variable, the DW program shows no more issue.
    Testing again the program, although, showed the same error that I got after copying the DLL's to system32 directory ("R6034. An application has made an attemp to load the C runtime library incorrectly.").
    Searching in Technet showed that this kind of error is caused by invalid manifest files. But looking at the manifest files in the sapnwrfc, everything looks fine.
    I'm clueless now. Maybe somebody have the sapnwrfc working in a Windows XP box and could give me some directions.
    Thank you all.

  • SOLVED Cannot view .pgm and .ppm images

    Hi,
    I tried to view some .pgm and .ppm images produced by my APT weather satellite image receiver but gqview could not open them. Tried mirage but have same problem. Only gimp opens these type of images.
    Last time I tried to view .pgm images was probably more than 3 weeks ago so the problem may have developed after some recent -Syu. Any ideas please?
    Looks like the pgm and ppm (at least) file formats spec has changed. I compared with a pgm file saved by gimp and there is a hash-prefixed comment line below the P5. I inserted one in the files produced by my app and now gqview (and others) open them OK. Example:
    P5
    #comment (anything)
    800 600
    255
    data.........
    works ok but:
    P5
    800 600
    255
    data.........
    can only be opened by gimp.
    But still there is another strange problem,  when I "open as text" an uncommented .pgm file in gvim, it seems to go into a long loop trying to open the file and has to be stopped with a user interrupt. With a commented file it has no problem!!??

    Can you attach a screenshot?
    *http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Screenshot

    *Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot
    *Make sure that you do not exceed the maximum size of 1 MB
    If images are missing then check that you do not block images from some domains.
    *Tap the Alt key or press F10 to show the Menu Bar
    Check the permissions for the domain in the currently selected tab in "Tools > Page Info > Permissions"
    Check "Tools > Page Info > Media" for blocked images
    *Select the first image link and use the cursor Down key to scroll through the list.
    *If an image in the list is grayed and "<i>Block Images from...</i>" has a checkmark then remove this checkmark to unblock images from this domain.
    Make sure that you do not block (third-party) images, the <b>permissions.default.image</b> pref on the <b>about:config</b> page should be 1.
    Make sure that you haven't enabled a High Contrast theme in the Windows/Mac Accessibility settings.
    Make sure that you allow pages to choose their own colors.
    *Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Colors : [X] "Allow pages to choose their own colors, instead of my selections above"
    Note that these settings affect background images.

  • Problems when downloading VSD or PPM file types

    Hi,
    when we try to download fiels from collaboration server, getting the SSL prompt when trying to download either VSD or PPM file types, all other open just fine.
    Did any comeacross such kind of problem and any workaround.
    Thanks,
    Ramesh

    I'm not sure you both have the same problem, but Mario's may be caused by this:
    When you open an Office doc (Word, Excel, probably others) via HTTP from the appropriate application, Office 2000 and later check to see if the HTTP URL is WebDAV enabled. When you close the document, it makes the WebDAV/HTTP request back to the server to see if it can write changes to the document back to the original. If you have Windows Auth or Basic enabled on the site (even if anonymous is also enabled), and you are not logged into the domain, it's likely that you will get the prompt).

  • Opening a custom link in new window

    Hi All,
    We have created a custom iview in WD ABAP for showing PM notification data with respect to an item.
    The custom iview is accessed by click on a custom linked placed in Navigation panel.
    We want this iview to open in new window.
    In portal side we have done settings to open it in New Window but it is not happening.
    It seems that some other PPm setting overrides portal setting.
    Is this possible to configure this in SPRO.
    Your suggestions are welcome.
    Regards,
    Sumit Oberoi

    hi,
    I believe what you looking can be meet by working on Portal Content administration and in SPRO, navigation. Please eloborate more on what you have done and how you want your custom link to appear in portal e.g iview, tab, or seperate window.
    Information from your end could help to understand or even to get more knowledge about this.

    Check your entries in /etc/vfstab and make sure that all the devices are mounted. If not, repair the device with fsck and mount or comment the entry in the /etc/vfstab and reboot. Most often the listed services will go to maintenance state if the device is not available for mount or incorrect entry in /etc/vfstab.

  • Content Server for Windows x64

    Hi,
    I need to install Content Server on x64 Windows machine.
    I downloaded the SR3 installation master CD.
    I need to find the "Content Server 6.40" cd labeled "SAP:SAP_CS:640:*:PPMS component SAP_CS:PPMS-LABEL)". From where can I download it?
    Thanks,
    Omri

    starting point for newer content server installations is currently service.sap.com/contentserver -> Media Library
    -> Literature , where I found a new "installation guide for SAP Content Server for Windows 2008".
    Unfortunately, SAP Note Note 1556824 "Direct navigation to SAP Contentserver download page in SMP" does not mention details on how to find the source for the content server installation, but I got help by Content Server for Windows x64

  • Problem with Threads and "plase wait..."-Window

    Hi everyone,
    I have a problem that I'm not able to solve in any way... I have a time-consuming task (a file decryption) which I execute in a separate thread; I've used the SwingWorker class, like suggested by sun-tutorial, and it works right. The problem is that I have to wait that the decryption have finished before continuing with program-execution. Therefore I would like to display a "please wait"-window while the task runs. I've tryed all the possible ways I know but the problem is always the same: the waitWindow is displayed empty, the bounds are painted but the contents no; it's only painted when the decrypt-task has finished. Please help me, I have no more resources....
    decrypt-file code:
    public class DecryptFile {
      private String cryptedFileNameAndPath;
      private ByteArrayInputStream resultStream = null;
      // need for progress
      private int lengthOfTask;
      private int current = -1;
      private String statMessage;
      public DecryptFile(String encZipFileNameAndPath) {
        cryptedFileNameAndPath = encZipFileNameAndPath;
        //Compute length of task...
        // 0 for indeterminate
        lengthOfTask = 0;
      public ByteArrayInputStream getDecryptedInputStream() {
        return this.resultStream;
       * Called from ProgressBarDemo to start the task.
      public void go() {
        current = -1;
        final SwingWorker worker = new SwingWorker() {
          public Object construct() {
            return new ActualTask();
        worker.start();
       * Called from ProgressBarDemo to find out how much work needs
       * to be done.
      public int getLengthOfTask() {
        return lengthOfTask;
       * Called from ProgressBarDemo to find out how much has been done.
      public int getCurrent() {
        return current;
      public void stop() {
        current = lengthOfTask;
       * Called from ProgressBarDemo to find out if the task has completed.
      public boolean done() {
        if (current >= lengthOfTask)
          return true;
        else
          return false;
      public String getMessage() {
        return statMessage;
       * The actual long running task.  This runs in a SwingWorker thread.
      class ActualTask {
        ActualTask () {
          current = -1;
          statMessage = "";
          resultStream = AIUtil.getInputStreamFromEncZip(cryptedFileNameAndPath); //here the decryption happens
          current = 0;
          statMessage = "";
      }The code that calls decryption and displays waitWindow
          final WaitSplash wS = new WaitSplash("Please wait...");
          final DecryptFile cryptedTemplate = new DecryptFile (this.templateFile);
          cryptedTemplate.go();
          while (! cryptedTemplate.done()) {
            try {
              wait();
            } catch (Exception e) { }
          this.templateInputStream = cryptedTemplate.getDecryptedInputStream();
          wS.close();Thanks, thanks, thanks in advance!

    Maybe you can try setting the priority of the long-running thread to be lower? so that the UI will be more responsive...

  • I install window 8 and Unfortunatly all drive format. And all drive mix, now i have only 1 DRIVE C. I want Bit locker Drive's data Back

    Last sunday i install a window 8 and this window format my all drive & make it 1 drive (DRIVE C). Before all of this i have 5 drive in different size with 1 Bitlocker protect drive.
    So i try data recovery software to recover my data. i got back all my data without that ( bitlocker ) protected drive.
    so please guys help me how can i get back data from bitlocker protected drives.
    please please help me.

    Hi,
    I sorry for your experience, but there is no way to recovery the data encryped by BitLocker untill now.
    BitLocker is designed to make the encrypted drive unrecoverable without the required authentication. When in recovery mode, the user needs the recovery password or recovery key to unlock the encrypted drive. Therefore, we highly recommend
    that you store the recovery information in AD DS or in another safe location.

  • HP LaserJet Enterprise 500 Color MFP M575 - Can't scan from Windows

    We recently purchased and installed an HP LaserJet Enterprise 500 Color MFP M575 to be used as a networked all-in-one solution for a number of offices. I have been able to get it set up on our network and have installed the appropriate drivers on the requested Windows 7 x64 machines, and network printing works perfectly. However, it seems that despite the fancy scanning features available from the all-in-one itself (scan to email, scan to a network folder, etc.), I can't find any way to do an old-fashioned scan from Windows.
    I have installed the full software solution available on the driver download page for the device, and while Windows lists the device as a "Multi Function Printer; Scanner" it does not recognize it as an actual scanner. The built-in Windows Fax and Scan simply reports that no scanners are installed. The software installation did not include the HP Solution Center (which I am used to seeing from my experience with various other HP all-in-one devices) or any equivalent for direct scanning. The driver download page for the device does not include any separate scanning drivers, so I can't be certain if they were included with the full installation or exist at all.Some of our staff also use Adobe Acrobat to scan, and even that fails to recognize the MFP as a scanner.
    We'll eventually be setting up the device to scan directly to a network folder, but we need a fallback while IT takes their time getting it set up; I can't imagine that the simplest option is not available at all. I must be missing something here, any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
    Edit: To add, I also ran the HP Print and Scan Doctor. Interestingly, it reports the device as a printer and only offers to "Fix Printing" without any sort of resolution for my scanning problem.

    There is no change to this problem after 6 months since the last post. Put simply, and as stated in the previous posts, there is no way to scan a document and receive the image on your PC. If you are working with graphics for any length of time or want to create an image for inclusion as an image in a document or web page using this piece of equipment will not allow you to do so.
    Great shame as every other function works well - it cannot be beyond the wit of HP to include a Windows application that enables you to scan an image, receive it in the software you are using at the time (e.g. Outlook, Word, Photoshop...) and use it in your work.
    HP Printers several years older than this £1000+ Enterprise printer were able to do this simple job and have done so for a great many years. Just being able to use Microsoft's Fax and Scan would be start.

  • Windows no longer detecting my Audigy 4?(Non-P

    Hey all. I've had my Audigy 4 (non-Pro) installed and working super for about 50 days, but it started giving me a weird problem. Windows was no longer detecting the card! It was weird. DX Diag, programs like EVEREST... they all report no sound card whatsoever.
    Here are my PC specs:
    XP Home Edition
    Albatron K8X800 Pro
    S754 3200+ ClawHammer
    x 2 OCZ ELPE 52 MB(2-3-2-5)
    Visiontek XTASY X850XT PE
    x 80 GB SATA 2 Seagate, x 80 GB Maxtor
    Some other things to note:
    XP has been repaired. Went from Service Pack , updates, and all the way to Service Pack 2. The card requires XP w/SP2, yes, so I have that covered.
    Onboard audio is disabled through the bios. I have AC'97 integrated audio on this.
    My motherboard has fi've PCI slots - although I can only access 4 because my video card is in the way, and I have tried three of those and I get the same problem.
    I have tried it in other PCs in my house, double-checked each time - so it is not ESD as I originally believed. It works just fine on those PCs. It is being not located only on MY PC.
    So guys and gals, I do not know what to do... I am stumped. It's the weekend so I can't call Creative support until Monday. I don't want to request an RMA through my warranty because clearly it's just a problem with my PC. What should I do?!Message Edited by Celsius on -26-2005 07:36 PM
