Off line viewing of sent messages stored in ICloud.

I would like to store sent messages on the server but also keep a copy on my mac for offline usage.  Is this possible?

Hi Peter
No unfortunately I didn't find a solution. I think it's a problem of GMail because this happens also in the webmail of my google account. So Mail is not the problem.
Other strange behaviour, my sent messages are duplicated in the draft box.
I didn't have time to go to my account in line yet.
I think the problem must be solved in your Gmail account on the web.
I let you know if it can be resolved there

  • View Adressee Sent Messages

Hi, using Apple Mail, I cant figure out how to view the Adressee in Sent Messages. What I see is the Sender and that is not of much use because it is Me. Who can tell me how to configure Mail so that I see the Addressee (and still sort by Date)? Thanks.

Are you using OSX Lion or Snow Leopard (OSX 10.7 or 10.6)?  You have posted your question in the Snow Leopard forum, but it seems like you may be using Lion???
Apple has seen fit to change the mail program in Lion.  I don't use Lion so I can't help you if you are.  You may want to repost your question on the Lion forum.
Mail's menu in Snow Leopard looks like this:
IMAP or POP - doesn't effect menu.

  • Download Tutorials for Off-line Viewing

    Hi
I am new to Aperture 2 and keen to learn more. I have an hours journey in the morning on public transport and this would be a perfect time to watch tutorials (off line). Does anyone know whether there's a way of downloading Apple's Aperture tutorials so that I can do this?
    Many thanks

  • Connot view my sent messages

I cannot open (read) any of my sent messages. Always get the following response:
The message has not been downloaded from the server. You need to take this account online in order to download it.
The account is online and have no problem sending and receiving email.
    G4   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

This indicates an "overstuffed" mailbox issue which means the mailbox has approached or exceeded the recommended size limit or the mailbox has some corruption.
The recommended mailbox size limit for Jaguar or Panther Mail is 1GB and for Tiger Mail, 2GB. This problem has been significantly reduced if not nearly eliminated with Tiger Mail.
An "overstuffed" mailbox issue can occur at any mailbox size but is more likely to occur depending on the number and size of message attachments contained in a mailbox and especially as a mailbox approaches or exceedes the recommended size limit.
Quit the Mail.app first and using the Finder go to Home > Library > Mail > this POP account named folder (named by the user name and incoming mail server for the account) > Sent Messages.mbox.
Move the Sent Messages.mbox to the Desktop.
When re-launching Mail, a new Sent Messages.mbox will be created automatically by Mail within the account named folder when sending the next message with this account.
This will allow the Mail.app to function properly again and not risk losing any new sent messages while working on the old Sent Messages.mbox moved to the Desktop to recover the existing messages.
Control-click on the old Sent Messages.mbox moved to the Desktop and at the menu window that appears, select Show Package Contents.

  • TS3992 where can i view pictures that are stored in icloud

where can i view photos stored in icloud and how do I delete some of them

There are two iCloud Photo areas: My Photo Stream and Shared Photo Stream.  Here is the info on both.
iCloud: My Photo Stream FAQ - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4486
How do I delete photos from My Photo Stream?
You can delete photos from your photo stream the same way you delete other photos from your iOS device or Mac. Just select the photos you want to remove, then tap the trash icon or click Delete. On your PC, select the photos you want to remove from your photo stream, right-click, then select delete. When you delete a photo from My Photo Stream on one device, iCloud will automatically delete it from the My Photo Stream album or view on your other devices. Learn more about deleting photos.

How do I delete photos from a shared stream?
If you are the owner of a shared stream, you can delete photos from the stream in the same way you delete any other photos from your iOS device, Mac, or Windows PC.  The photos will be automatically deleted from the stream on all your devices and the devices of anyone subscribed to the stream. Any photos that were previously saved or downloaded from the shared stream to another location, such as the Camera Roll, will not be deleted from that location. • Do I need to have iWork on my iOS device in order to view files that are stored in iCloud Drive?

I was hoping that iCloud Drive would allow us to view files on our iPhones or iPads without having Pages, Numbers, or even Word, Excel, etc... When I did the update to iOS 8 I found that there was no separate app for iCloud Drive, thus no way to simply view files stored on iCloud Drive.  I understand not being able to edit the files without having iWork or Office programs installed.  Does anyone know if we will have this capability or if I'm just missing it?  If this option isn't going to be provided to us, I'll be forced to continue to use Dropbox to view files on iOS devices (even though we can't view iWork files on iOS Dropbox anymore...)

To elaborate on my question, this is what I was expecting.  The iPad and iPhone in this picture looks as though there is a place on iOS where you can see all of the files that are located in iCloud Drive.  You can also see that each file has an associated tag (the colored dots) which we were able to start using on Mavericks.  I understand that the Mac you see in the picture has iCloud Drive as a native(ish) drive on the computer which will be available with Yosemite, but I don't understand where on the iPhone/iPad these shots were taken from, assuming it's iOS 8.0
On the up side, I just received my iPhone 6 today to find that iPhone6 and 6+ users are given Pages, Numbers, and Keynote free for their iOS devices.

  • Grid Lines View in the Message Viewer?

    Hi-
Is there anyway to format the message viewer so there are grid lines between the messages and columns I find it easer to read that way...
    Thank you...

Hi, I'm not sure I understand, but if I do, then no way I know of.

  • Can I do off-line viewing of a Movie rental on windows 8.1?

I have a Windows 8.1 tablet.  I want to be able to watch a movie on a long airplane ride without having internet access.  Is there a way to rent the movie in iTunes and watch it?
I downloaded the rental movie.  Once in the air, I tried to run it in iTunes but it did not work.  I then went into Windows Explorer and found the file on my C drive.  I right-moused on the movie and said I wanted to run it in iTunes.  It ran but the sound was not perfectly synchronized with the video and it was frustrating to watch.

Registration has always been optional, so there is no point in trying. Those pages on the Adobe site are long gone. CS5 crashing is another matter, but without some crash logs and more detailed system information nobody can realyl know. This could be a mundane permissions issue on some files, could be a crash with the hardware acceleration stuff but just the same could be the activation system failing. Impossible to tell based on your limited information.

  • How long are (sent) emails stored on icloud?

    Dear Community!
I've been using @mac.com for a long time (several years).  How long are emails stored by Apple?  I'm trying to find an email I sent in April 2009.  Thanks!

They are kept until you delete them.

  • Is there a way to sync old sent messages from an online server into Mail?

When I got my new Mac, I already had several years of sent messages stored on an online server (Gmail). Is there any way to get these messages into the Sent mailbox in Mail?

You can set up your Gmail account in Mail as an IMAP account. Once done, you can view them in Mail or copy them to any folder on your Mac.

  • Apple Mail and Sent Messages

I have been having some issues with my iCloud email account and Mavericks. I wasn't sure if this was an iCloud issue or an issue with Apple Mail. It has to do with saving Sent messages. A couple of months ago, I had some issues with Mail. I deleted the com.apple.mail and com.apple.MailServiceAgent folders in ~Library/Containers and I deleted any plist files in Preferences. It worked for a couple months. Then, about two weeks ago, I noticed Sent emails were not be saved any where on my iMac.
So, I repeated the procedure and created Mail anew. It worked great for about a week. I always have the "save sent messages to server" option turned on. Then, one day I got some kind of message that a folder called "Sent" could not be created on the server. Looking at Mail, my Sent folder was completely gone. All of my previously saved messages in Sent were moved to the folder INBOXToDos.mbox/Sent Messages.
At first I thought iCloud itself was messed up. I logged into iCloud. There was no Sent mailbox, and there was no INBOXToDo mailbox. So, now I have no sent messages anywhere in iCloud. I sent an email from Safari in iCloud, and then, iCloud created the Sent mailbox.
Still, my Mavericks iMac will not save sent messages anywhere. I need help sorting this out and don't want to lose my previous sent messages even though they seem to be stored in some wonky folder.

Where is the Sent Messages folder listed? If it is not under MAILBOXES but in an IMAP folder, select it and go to Mailbox menu, Use this mailbox for>Sent.
It should disappear and sent messages then appear in the Sent folder.

  • Snow Leopard 10.6.1 IMAP Sent Messages Missing! Where are they?

I upgraded to 10.6 from 10.5 and everything was fine apart from push to the iPhone! In an effort to get it all working I decided to do a clean install, so backed up my mail accounts (which should now be in one place in 10.6) and everything else + made disc image etc. However, after doing the clean install, and reconnecting the backed up email accounts, I can only see the mails in the inbox. There are no emails in the sent messages! I have looked in the mail account folders and can’t see anywhere that sent messages are stored. I have also since the clean install created new users and sent emails to see if anything arrives in that users mail store, and nothing comes in that I can see, but they can see the newly sent message in their sent folder! Only sent messages prior to the re-install are missing. I have the old install of the server backed up, so I can access them if I knew where to get them from.
Where are sent messages stored? It looks like they are going to some other location on the server rather than the specified location in mail prefs.
Has anyone else experienced this, or have any advice.
    Cheers

Hi, I used ditto (as root) to back up all the folders from /var/spool/imap/dovecot/mail/ and then to restore them – however, they are now in a new location on a separate drive which the mail prefs are pointing too. I have checked to see if anything is going into /var/spool/imap/dovecot/mail/ and nothing is there – which is correct.
I have also checked permissions and they are fine.
If this was a brand new install it would all be working as normal – I can see new sent messages, just not the old ones or old folders that users might have made.
However there is no folder in the UID’s called Sent Messages – even with new accounts! The only folders are "cur" (received mails), "new" and "tmp". I have no idea where the sent messages are being saved too (old or new)! I was expecting a folder within the UID’s with the sent messages inside.

  • Sent messages only appear in the sent folder after restarting Thunderbird

Hi, my problem is that sent messages do not appear in the sent folder unless I restart Thunderbird. I have the sent 'copies' box de-checked as if not although it syncs I end up with two copies (of sent messages).
I am using Thunderbird 31.2.0 on OSX Yosemite connecting via IMAP to ZOHO mail with STARTTLS on 587 for SMTP.
Hope you can advise, I've tried SSL/TLS on 465 also and it is the same. It's a bit of an inconvenience not being able to view the sent messages.
    Many thanks

Interesting to know (the RFC violation) but as you say, perhaps not relevant as such, although if ZOHO wasn't auto-placing a copy in sent then I could check the 'place a copy in' option and it would work ok.
Anyhow, I tried your recommendations and yes, I use both an Android and an iPad to also check my mail but with both disconnected from Wi-Fi the problem still persists. There are a few warnings being reported in the TB error console on the Mac but they just relate to 'mso-table-lspace' for my INBOX.
And for info in Thunderbird on my Ubuntu laptop the problem is exactly the same -
'Place a copy' checked - Messages instantly appear in the sent folder but there are two copies.
'Place a copy' de-checked/Cached connections = 5 - Messages only appear in the sent folder after restarting Thunderbird
'Place a copy' de-checked/Cached connections = 1 - Messages appear in the sent folder on clicking out of the folder and back in.
On Ubuntu there is nothing at all in the error console.
I can work with how things are at this stage as I don't live in the sent folder (rather the inbox), and when you click into it (with the connections cache at 1) the messages do appear, so I suppose that's actually ok.

  • I can't see the recipients/addresses in the bcc field in Mail sent messages

I'm looking to double-check the recipients in an email I sent, but it's not showing the bcc line in the sent message. I've never had this problem before... Have recently upgraded my Macbook Pro and updated Mavericks (10.9.2) and now using Mail 7.2. Any ideas how to get the bcc field to show??

    Hi,
I've attached screenshots of the default settings below. The settings are in '''Tools''' ('''Alt''' + '''T''') > '''Content'''
Alternatively you can try to start Firefox in [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe%20Mode?s=safe+mode&r=0&as=s Safe Mode] and in the first screen choose '''Reset all user preferences to Firefox defaults''' and click '''Make Changes and Restart''', but this would reset all your settings in addition to those of fonts and colors.
