Offical iTunes 7 feedback.

Does anyone know where to leave offical feedback on the glaring problems with iTunes 7? I am having a lot of problems with this upgrade and would like to report them through offical channels.
Extremely dissapointed with this update, it's like going back to Windows "updates" that just mess everything up.

am having a lot of problems with this upgrade
Such as?
It was crashing, loosing artwork, the play/pause button did not change or would change very slowly, it used massive amounts of CPU, it would cause other programs like Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects to crash, forgetting positions in audio books, downloading double versions of all my podcasts, lower quality audio on playback compared to previous versions, if QuickTime was open at the same time both would crash, my iPod (3G) would not sync, 7 and 7.1 have a just plain ugly GUI and are generally a giant piece of junk.
I was really surprised that this "Update" was not developed and tested better. Apple's complete silence on the overwhelmingly negative response is also disappointing.
I have since reverted to 6.5 and it runs beautifully with no problems. I will not update again. I see no reason to. 6.5 has all the features I need and use and runs perfectly.

Is there an e-mail address where you can drop suggestions or feedback about itunes or ipod?
i found send feedback about itunes but it appeared to be a feedback for music, video or store or whatever and not regular feedback about the functionality and other options.

  • Where can I find what versions of software are compatible with Yosemite? ie. Logic Express, Microsoft Office, iTunes etc

    Hi,
I'm thinking of getting a new iMac, however I am concerned some current software will not be compatible with it and I'll lose files etc. For example all my music files for Logic Express 8.
    I am currently running:
    Mac OS X version 10.6.8,
    iTunes 11.4,
    iPhoto 7.1.5,
    Logic Express 8.0.2,
    Microsoft Word/Excel etc. is 12.3.6.
These are the most used applications so I want to limit any losses from these if I were to get a new iMac.
Any support with this, and on how to transfer files to a new iMac would be very much appreciated.
    Thank you.

  • Sharing one iTunes Library with Fast User Switching

Last year, I started using one MacBook Pro for Office use and Personal Home use, by creating two user accounts on it, and enabling Fast User Switching. I did this when I gave up using two separate desktops macs.
Now I have two rather similar music libraries, taking up too much hard drive space. Once I enabled Music Sharing in my Office iTunes Library, I realized that I could gain access to that Office Music Library when I am on my Personal Home User account. Since my Library on my Office account is the most complete, can I eliminate the iTunes Library on my Personal Home User account, to save hard drive space?
If so, how should I do this?

    Yes.
If so, how should I do this?
Move the iTunes folder in Home/Music on the Personal
Home User Account to the desktop.
Launch iTunes. Unable to locate a library file, it
will create a new one, empty one in a new iTunes
    folder at Home/Music.
Connect to your shared library as usual. If
everything is working as expected, trash the iTunes
    folder on your desktop.

My iTunes was created under an admin. user profile that I would like to delete. I created a second profile also with admin privlages but I want to delete the first because I messed up the shortname on the profile. So, if I delete this first profile, will I lose all of my music? Will I lose access to the music?

  • Problems With The New iTunes 11.2.2

Since I updated iTunes to the new 11.2.2, I'd have nothing but problems. First of all and most importantly, 100GB's+ worth of music has been lost. Don't know why or how I can retrieve them. No, I don't have them on iCloud, because all of my music is stored in an external hard drive. Secondly, after realizing I have no other choice but to start over, I made a new playlist. But I have no option of putting songs in them! ***?? Why? Can someone please tell me what's going on with iTunes?
    Feedback would be greatly appreciated!

  • No way to report feedback in ver. 6

    ITunes 6 Feedback
I have created and placed in iTunes forest sounds which I have burned many copies for friends in version 4 & 5 of iTunes.
The time is 70 minutes and in these versions showed as being 715MB.
I installed version 6 of iTunes. I just tried to burn a copy of the Forest Sounds using the same Verbatim media and the message came up stating:
The songs in this playlist will not fit on one data disc.
Do you want to create multiple data discs with this playlist split across them?
This will require more than one blank disc to complete.
When I press ‘Cancel’ it does so. When I press ‘Data Discs’ it does the same as cancel. (The message simply goes away and nothing happens.)
When I press ‘?’ for help, the message says ‘No pages with your search words were found’
It seems to be very different with version 6. The time still shows 70 minutes but the size is now showing 772.2MB.
2ND ISSUE .... PROBLEM REPORTING THE ABOVE
I selected ‘Provide iTunes Feedback’ to report the above issue and expected to be able to do so. Not so. It only provides the ability to ‘Request Music’, NOT iTUNES RELATED FEEDBACK.
There should be a place to report issues but I could not find it. So I am posting it here in hopes someone from Apple will find it and correct both errors.
Interesting thing: I placed one of the formerly recorded discs in and it showed the capacity as 709.5MB. I will install it back into iTunes and see what results I get.

  • How do I "link" my music folders to the iTunes Library?

I have recently upgraded my computer. I have formated my disk and installed a new XP, Office, iTunes etc.
Now I have all my music files on a disk D: and my iTunes at C: but I can't manage to "add"/"link" my music folders to the iTunes Library. After iTunes installation, I have changed the path at Edit/Preferences/Advanced/iTunes Music Folder Location to D: ... but the iTunes Library keeps "empty".
    Help please !!!
    Thanks.

    Goncalo,
Changing the location of the iTunes Music folder will only affect songs you add with iTunes in the future.
To add the songs you already have, use the File menu > Add Folder to Library ... option and select the folder that contains your music in the navigation pop-up window that appears.

  • ITunes and TotalRecorder issue

After I upgraded to iTunes 7 (bad idea ...), iTunes came up with an error message : "An unknown error occurred (0x666D743F)" and then terminated. (see http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=304318 ). I traced the problem down to the virtual sound driver of my TotalRecorder.
To fix the problem temporarily, I had to change my settings in Windows Control Panel, Quicktime Preferences:
Choose tab "Audio" - click "Select Audio Playback and Recording Devices" and in the opening dialog, on the tab "Audio" in the "Sound Playback" box I had to replace "Playback through TotalRecorder with "SB Live! Wave Device". Now iTunes works, but TotalRecorder is gone.
So now every time I want to switch from iTunes to TR and vice versa, I must change these settings. Must I say, Mr. Jobs, that I am not amused at all. I will try to walk back to iTunes 6 in the next days, unless the smart people at High Criteria (makers of TR) come up with a solutiuon.
I had been warned before, there were similar problems with prior versions of iTunes not playing with TR.
Apparantly Apple doesn't bother about compatibility with the user's software, or do they do this on purpose (e.g. to prevent recording of iTunes songs while playing them)?
They have no right to sabotage my legally acquired software that I use only for legal purposes!
(Honest) answers from Apple are welcome,

  • ITunes 10.6.1.7 unstable

After upgrading to iTunes 10.6.1.7, I'm experience 2 new issues:
iTunes periodically crashes, generating a Windows error report and has to be restarted.  This appears random as I'm not actually doing anything in iTunes when the crash occurs - it is just running in the background.  It is possible that it is related to Home Sharing as another computer and Apple TVs access the shared library on this box.  This is running on Windows 7 64-bit.
The second issue is that Apple TVs are sometimes unable to access the shared library.  This seems to be fixed temporarily by restarting iTunes.
I'm not necessarily looking for help as nothing has changed on the computer and these probllems just cropped up, so I think it is probably an issue in iTunes itself.  Just wanted to report the problem.

  • ITunes no longer recognizes Outlook on my computer

This morning, my system worked fine. After installing a supposed audio update, my computer has been acting up all day and I've been wasting hours trying to fix my computer and get iTunes talking to Outlook again.
The iCloud menu on my Network and Sharing Center keeps telling me to download outlook; I ALREADY HAVE IT.
This all happened after I downloaded the Dec. 14 update I received notice about; now, nothing is working the way it is supposed to.
    iPhone 4
    OS 5.0
    iTunes 10.5.2
NO LONGER RECOGNIZES OUTLOOK for syncing.

I know how you feel; it has been very frustrating and I wasted a lot of time trying to fix it. I tried repairing iTunes and restarting my computer several times, syncing with iCloud (which I don't like to do because it doesn't work consistently) and I even considered getting a different phone (yeah, I was that annoyed).
However, when I was considering uninstalling and resintalling iTunes, I typed that question into Google and found an online IT service called JustAnswer.com.  The tech there advised repairing Microsoft office from the control panel. I tried that and it worked; after repairing office, iTunes again recognizes my outlook.
Caveat: be careful when syncing the calendar; it duplicated my entries on my phone multiple times.

  • A suggestion for iTunes Store

With the new policy of offering higher quality music (sans DRM), it might be neat to have a side by side free download of the same song, or songs, using the two different encoding processes. That way users could hear the difference and might be spurred to pay for the higher quality music.

We'll have to wait and see when the new EMI DRM-free tracks are posted. It may be possible to preview the two versions of the tracks separately. If so, you'll be able to compare that way.
For future reference, the best way to submit comments and suggestions regarding iTunes is through the iTunes application feedback page.
    Regards.

  • ITunes and QuickTime stopped working after an upgrade...

I have been pulling my hair out trying to get my iTunes working again. Here is what I have done already in order:
    1. Does not work regardless of user (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302856)
    2. Tried running with changes to MSCONFIG
    - Ran according to Apple Support Web Site (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302538)
    - Ran in Diagnostics mode
    - Ran in /SAFEMODE
    3. Uninstalled and removed from any reference from registry
    4. Removed iTunes configuration files (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302386)
    5. Installed WinInspector Spy and launched iTunes to see what happened. Unfortunately I have not figured out how to copy and paste the log, but it shows the iTunes window class being created, a bunch of other stuff, then the OfficeWatson class, stuff and then the infamous "iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close" message. After hitting the Send Error Report, I see the OfficeWatson window being destroyed and that is it. This leads me to believe that the problem is somehow with the outlook integration between iTunes and Windows? So I looked in my Add/Remove programs and sure enough Office and Outlook were upgraded the day after the last time i was able to use iTunes. So I tried uninstalling Office, iTunes and QuickTime. QuickTime refused to uninstalled claiming a fatal error. I then forcably removed it as described in the apple knowledge paper. Another interesting point, when I ran QuickTime, nothing happens, not even a crash message. When I run QuickTime Preferences from the system tray, the dialog shows, but when I click on the FileTypes tab, I get a RUNDLL error: "An exception occurred while trying to run "Shell32.dll, Control_RunDLL "C:\Program Files\QuickTime\QTSystem\QuickTime.cpl".
I also tried running StraceNtX.exe against it, but it doesnt create the right environment for iTunes (it thinks it is Windows 2000 and does have the right service pack).
PLEASE can someone help? This is the second time this has happened to me. The first time was on another computer that came with a "real" restore point (not the stupid one Windows has that does not work) and I solved it by simply restoring back in time. This time I do not have that option!
ARGH - I really do not want to have to use Media Player.
Is there a way to force a stack trace? I am a UNIX programmer and not familiar with Windoze.

It sounds as though things have got pretty screwed up. If you couldn't clean things up properly with the MS installer cleaup, there is thread on cleaning up uninstall information in the registry.
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=3637190&#3637190
I am not sure that I have anything more to offer as you appear to have done most things. Have you tried turning off all security software while doing the install, and doing the MSconfig thing with just Quicktime. Presumably your system is free of malware?
As a matter of interst, what happens if you have the task manager running when you start Quicktime, does it start and then stop, or keep running or not start at all?
A few people seem to have these intractable problems and the forum expert on this has been away since christmas, but you could try searching the forum for "b noir" posts about install/launch problems.

  • ITunes 11 slow to load on Windows 7 64-bit

We have laptop running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit in a remote office that has numerous drives mapped to the server in our main office.  The drives are accessed via a VPN at the remote office.  The laptop has the latest version of iTunes 11 installed on it.  When the laptop is in our main office iTunes 11 starts within a couple of seconds.  When the laptop is in the remote office iTunes takes up to five minutes to start.  When I remove all the mapped drives on the laptop while at the remote office iTunes starts within a couple of seconds again.  This problem is not unique to the laptop as we have a Dell desktop running Windows 7 64-bit in the remote office that has the same problem.  If I remove all the mapped drive iTunes starts within 2 seconds but with the mapped drives it takes a couple of minutes for iTunes to start.  Why is iTunes accessing drives that has nothing to do with it's library and media folders?  Is there any resolution to this problem?  Thank you in advance.

I have had this problem with Windows 7 and iTunes updates for some time. Each time it takes hours to solve but with the over the air upgrade to IOS6 on my iPhone and iPad, I was determined to solve and remember what I did, So here it is:
