Office 2007 Outlook

I have created my Outlook InBox view in a certain manner: date; from; subject; attachment etc.
Without user action, my view changes. I reported this to our IT team who replied that it is not something they could fix. I have a hard time believing this . I think that they have missed something in the settings. Also my PC does security updates during
the day.
Could this be the issue?
Thank you,
Dina Tsourdinis

Hi,
Since the view has been lost, we may not be able to retrieve it.
Try to re-create the view, check if it will be lost again. If it is lost again, the view may have been corrupted, try starting Outlook with the "cleanviews" switch, this will restore default views, all custom views that you created will be lost.
Press Win + R and type “outlook.exe /cleanviews” in the blank box, then press Enter.
Then check if the view will stay.

  • Answers to Problems With Icloud and Office 2007 Outlook?

My computer has a Windows 7, 64 bit operating system and Microsoft 2007 Office, which includes Outlook 2007 where I do most of my mail and keep my daily calendar and all my contacts. I wanted to sync my iphone 5 calendar with Microsoft's Office 2007 Outlook Calendar. I followed the instructions but it has never worked and Icloud put my original Outlook Calendar and Contacts in the deleted folder for Outlook and substituted folders called Contacts1 and Calendar1. Unfortunately, the sync with my iphone does not work properly. It did the very first time after installing icloud and itunes but thereafter all it does is upload stuff to icloud and additions made in my Office 2007 Outlook calendar since the first sync do not get transferred to my iphone calendar. After numerous attempts to make this work I decided to just forget about trying to sync with icloud so I deleted it from my system along with itunes and now i am left with the icloud calendar1 and contacts1 in Outlook 2007. I am unable to transfer my icloud calendar entries back to the original Outlook 2007 calendar the same for contacts. Can anyone tell me how to do this so I can delete the icloud folders contacts1 and calendar1 from Outlook 2007?  Thanks.

Try to export them as .pst files from within Outlook (http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook-help/export-contacts-HA102919759.aspx).  Then disable iCloud syncing and import the .pst backups back to Outlook.

  • Office 2007 Outlook Not Accepting User Credentials

I was setting up a user with Outlook 2007 so that he can check his email. The user is a domain user and his AD account is "synced" with his microsoft exchange account (Same password). Simple install, so it should have been straight forward. When
initializing his email account, it asks for his password and username. we input it and hit ok. The box prompts again for the same credentials. It gives me 2 green check marks but the "log on to server" issue does not give me a check mark and continuously
prompts for a username and password. The information is correct....
    Things I have done:
I have already removed all of his MS Outlook credentials from credential manager.
    I have reinstalled Office 2007.
I have also done other random tips I cannot remember.
    Any suggestions?

Anyone have any suggestions to my issue? I attached a picture of the issue.
I also have more details now. After the first time you enter the user credentials the "Remember me" box disappears as shown in the picture. The prompt then continues to ask for credentials. I can access the OWA with the same credentials and there
is an ADF and I can login to the computer with the same credentials...

  • Conflict:   Java 6.18 seems to conflct with Office 2007 Outlook & Word ???

    Hi Roomies,
I've just updated to Jave 6.18 on Vista Business so I can run a web site I need to use that requires this package.
However, I've noted that my MS Office 2007 developed a issue immediately after the install, with both Office Outlook and Word shortcuts on my desktop failing.
I then looked at the "Programs Folder" on the "Start Bar" to see if it was just the desktop icons not working ...only to see that all the "MS Office 2007" Icon in the "Start" menus had disappeared. The MS Office 2007programs would not activate from those blanked out (but named) locations either.
That said, the Office Outlook icon pinned to the "Quick Start" bar still did exist and that icon was fully functional and Outlook did activate from it, but had some minor run issues and was far from being a stable initiation of the program.
To resolve the conflict ... I used "Restore Point"and reverting to a date before the installation of Java 6.18. After doing that, I reinstalled a Java 6.18 a 2nd time ...only to have exactly the same thing happen all over again. Thereafter, I used "Restore"again and have not attempted to reinstall a 3rd time as yet.
UPdate: (24 hrs on) ....It just gets worse.
After posting the above issue on "Sun Forum", I hope I may get some feedback.
24 hrs on and after installing "Google Earth (+Chrome)", I saw that both the "Restored" Outlook & Work 2007 icon had once more disappeared from my desktop ...and the "MS Office 2007" Icon in the "Start" menus had disappeared once more ....and again no MS Office 2007programs would activate from those locations once more.
Again, for a 3rd time, I used "Restore Point"and reverting to a date before the installation of the "Google Earth & Chrome"package.
It has become clear to me that I have an issue with installing ANY PACKAGE and for what ever reason, after any install, MS Office 2007 is conflicted by those attempted instalations.
I have now also posted this same question on "Microsofe Answers"forum too, yet my question is still one that my remain of interest here, so again I ask:
Could some let me know if there is ~
    1.) A know issue? ....or
2.) ...Has anyone else come across these sorts of conflict before please? ...and
3.) Can you recommend a fix for them?
    Thank you.

From your update, it would appear that this issue is not restricted to installing Java. It is possible that there is a corruption in the Windows registry that is causing this problem and could be due to a bad context menu handler installed.
I have noticed that there are other posts on different sites where people have reported the problem. One method is discussed regarding addressing a problematic shell extension is here - onhttp://windowsxp.mvps.org/slowrightclick.htm

  • Outlook connector crashes with Office 2007 SP2

Hello. Microsoft has started pushing out Office 2007 SP2, resulting in Outlook crashes for Connector users who apply the patch. The only workaround we've found is to restore the users's system with Windows Restore, and then hide SP2 with Windows Update. A Connector uninstall restores normal Outlook operation. A reinstall of the Connector does not fix the problem.
    We're running Outlook Connector 7.2.402.1.
Sun Java(tm) System Messaging Server 6.2-8.04 (built Feb 28 2007)

"the store x is being re-pushed to the indexer for the following reason: index reset, re-push entire store"
Is there a solution? Will a patch will be issued for Connector 7.2? I haven't tried Connector 7.3 because our messaging and calendar servers don't meet its version requirements.
    David.

We're seeing the same issue with Office 2007 SP2 and Connector 7.3 Update1. We're running JCS 5 (roughly Update 1 patches on top of it).
Here's the MS error each time. I can click on Calendar, Contacts, and Tasks. As soon as I click on any email folder, crash.

I also tried this with the Office 2007 Outlook Feature pack (also contained within SP2) that was released early for various performance fixes. Same error issue. I resolved by uninstalling the Feature Pack. I tried uninstalling SP2, no luck. I also tried uninstalling/reinstalling the SJ Connector, no luck.
I will check desktop search, see if I can turn it off for Outlook and see what occurs.

  • Office 2007 Inbox repair tool for Outlook

Running Office 2007 Windows 7 64bit received this error but program wont open for me to follow its suggestion.   "Can not open errors have been detected close and then use the inbox repair tool scanpst.exe"Warrior57

    Hi,
If you open your Outlook and receive this message, you may need to use the Inbox Repair Tool to repair your PST file. Follow these steps:
On the Start menu, click Run.
    In the Open box, type
    drive:\Program Files\Common Files\System\Mapi\LocaleID\scanpst.exe
where LocaleID is the locale identifier (LCID) for your installation of Microsoft Office. For example, the LCID for English (United States) is 1033. For a list of LCIDs, see Microsoft Office Help.
    Click OK.
In the Enter the name of the file you want to scan box, type the path and file name given in the error message above.
Note   You may not be able to use the
Browse button to locate this file because it is located in a hidden folder.
To change the options for logging errors during the scan, click Options. If you choose
Replace log or Append to log, the log file is saved to the same directory as the .pst file.
    Click Start.
When the file scan is completed, select the Make a backup of scanned file before repairing check box.
    Click Repair.
If the file is successfully repaired, you will see a Repair complete message. If the Inbox Repair Tool was unable to repair the file, you will need to use a backup of your file.
    Hope that helps.

  • Outlook 2003 and Office 2007/10 Files

Our exec is having problems opening up files created with the Office 2007/10 standard...doesn't matter if it is WORD or EXCEL...and he has the compatibility pack installed to read the files.
When he tries to open a DOCX or XLSX file within an email attachment in Outlook 2003, it says the file cannot be found...if he saves it first and opens it up fro mthe save position, it works. And he can open standard DOC or XLS files within a attachment email.
We have uninstalled and reinstalled the compatability pack / file converter with same results...this is a situation where he just wants it fixed and fast.
    Thanks...

  • Problem linking SharePoint 2007 calendar to Office 365 Outlook

    Hello,
I'm trying to link our SharePoint 2007 calendar to my Office 365 Outlook on my Surface Pro 3 running Windows 8.1. The problem is, the Actions button in our Sharepoint calendar does not have the "Connect to Outlook" option visible at all. I've done
the connection multiple times and everything should be in order, but now trying to do this with our new Office 365 & Surface Pros this problem occurs. I tried it with two different Surface Pros, neither have the Connect to Outlook button available.
    Any ideas?

Having been working on a very similar project for a good few months, I could probably write a novel on this.
First, forget about the tool, there's isn't a golden utility that'll do everything for you.  This is due to the two generation gap between technologies and the move from on-premise to cloud.  Simply throwing a tool at this and hoping it'll work
    will cause you problems.
First, analyse your SP 2007 environment and work out what you think your pressure points will be.  For us, there were plenty, such as: -
    Custom workflows
    Densly populated lists
Changes in functionality, content types and so on
Obsecure changes to web part functionality
You'll want to see HOW any tool you look at handles these issues.  We ended up using Metalogix Content Matrix, which has a few troubles moving workflows and custom forms.  In the end these were recreated manually.

  • Unable to open .xls and .xlsx files from windows explorer or from Microsoft outlook using MS Office 2007

When I double click on an .xls or .xlsx file Excel will open up, but I never see the file open up.
If I right click on the excel file and say open with excel I then get the following error:
"Windows cannot find file c:\test\test.xls.  Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again...."
Everywhere I looked seems to indicate the file associations was messed up so per a technical document I deleted the .xls and .xlsx association and then ran the Office 2007 repair and rebooted.  Still not working even after office puts the .xls and .xlsx
    file associations in.
Here is what I see the in .xls and .xlsx for the &Open action:

    DDE Message: [open("%1")]
    Any guidance would be appreciated!

  • HT4759 How to Completely Uninstall iCloud? Office 2007 Save As Crashes

I can no longer use "Save As" in Office 2007 since I enabled ICloud.  Word and Excel Crash. And Outlook does not seem to be about to send more than one email at a time.  I have to select the Send/Receive button right after I create a new email.  If I wait and create a second email, the first email in the outbox changes status from ready to send to cannot send.  And even if I open it and try to send it, it will not send.  I have to re-create it.
I want to know how to thoroughly uninstall ICloud.  Other posters on Microsoft (Girish M) and Apple (SkinnyNick) have indicated that the problem is related to ICloud.  And I can confirm that I started having problems right after enabling ICloud.  Here are the references:
    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/office/forum/office_2007-excel/excel-2007-clo sing-unexpectedly-when-trying-to/69705682-06ca-4e39-b17e-56d4bacc3452
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4607859?start=0&tstart=0
I spent a lot of time trying to trouble shoot this problem.  I ran the Office install to repair.  This did not work.  I uninstalled all Office 2007 related products.  I then manually purged all directories relating to office including the Common Shared Directories.  Then, I ran Microsoft's FixIt to uninstall Office to make sure everything was uninstalled.  Then, I reinstalled Office 2007 and it still failed.  I thought about installing Office 2010, but the second post (above SkinnyNick) indicates that this would not work.
So, I am looking for a way to uninstall iCloud including that parts that is causing this problem.  Now, the second post (above) from
SkinnyNick) says that he tried to uninstall iCloud but this did not fix the problem.  He finally reconfigured iCloud by de-selecting Outlook, but I would rather completely remove iCloud.
Can anyone provide instructions on how to completely remove iCloud so that my Office 2007 products will function again using Save As?
    Thanks,
    Rob

As a Windows Application Developer who has more than 28 years of professional development experience, I can tell you that anything is possible in terms of how developers implement their applications. I have seen just about everything under the sun, and it would not surprise me if Apple's iCloud not only places files in key Windows directories, but it may use configuration information in a file as opposed to the Window Registry to control how their application behaves. And this would prevent “System Restore" from fixing the problem. Configuration information can be stored in many places. And, even if you do use the Windows Registry to control how your application works, you can key off of new files (like a user profile file) to control how your application to behaves. Csound1, you have been very generous with your time, and I am very grateful for your advice. Thank you.

  • Upgrade to Vista/Office 2007 blew my CS2 VBA script to heck...

I am scripting a conversion program in Excel 2007. I cannot get the CreateObject to work. Period. The code worked fine under Office 2003 under XP, but now I get "Type Mismatch" at the
    Set MyInDesign = CreateObject("InDesign.Application.CS2")
line of code. I have checked the references, and they are on for the InDesign CS2 type library. I have run this as both a standard user and as administrator. No joy.
I did, however, go into Office 2007 macro settings and change the security settings to enable all macros and trust access to vba project object model. Once I did this, the above line of code generates an "Out of Memory" error.
Yes, I shouldn't have gambled with changing a Microsoft product, but I figured we would eventually all be using Vista whether we wanted to or not, as Microsoft is dropping support and development of XP soon...
But regardless, we are dead in the water... any ideas???
    Thanks!!!

    Hi,
Which type of email account are you using? If you are using Exchange or IMAP account, your items are usually delivered to and saved on the mail server. You can also view your items if you configure your email account in another PC.
If it's only a pst-file in the local disk of your work pc, it's not possible to view the items unless you can go back to your work pc and copy the pst-file to your home pc. I'd like to let you know that a Personal Folders file (.pst) is an Outlook data file
that stores your messages and other items on your computer. It won't sync to the mail server. See:

  • Office 2007 installer run everytime i open excel only

Ok, I need some help on this one. I have office 2007 pro installed on a
terminal server for a couple of years now with no problems. The other day one
of the users called and says that the installer program open every time they
open excel. I logged in and sure enough it runs. When I open word, pp or
outlook, the installer does not run. When I look at the event log I get two
event errors, an event id 1001 and 1004. Below is the one I think that might be
    causing the problem.
This is the event id 1001. Detection of product
    '{90120000-0012-0000-0000-0000000FF1CE}', feature 'EXCELFiles' failed during
    request for component '{0638C49D-BB8B-4CD1-B191-052E8F325736}'
This is the event id 1004. Detection of product
    '{90120000-0012-0000-0000-0000000FF1CE}', feature 'EXCELFiles', component
    '{8BE509B9-BD83-4EEF-99C1-8F6EF615B8FB}' failed. The resource 'C:\Program
    Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\XLSTART\' does not exist.
I tried to run the repair utility under add/remove programs and I still get
this error. After the install runs, excel opens fine and keeps opening until I
log out of the server then log back in after a period of time. I have not
uninstalled and reinstalled office yet. But what I’ve read so far on some of
the other forums is reinstalling is not the answer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

SO FAR, SO GOOD.  I THINK I HAVE IT SOLVED
    ok,
I think that i have finally solved this issue after talking with another tech friend of mine.  When I look at the event look it says this everytime I open excel
'C:\ProgramFiles\Microsoft Office\Office12\XLSTART\' does not exist.  When I drill down in the "C" drive, sure enought there is no XLSTART file or folder.  After I let the install configuration run, it adds this
a folder called XLSTART and after I close excel and log out the folder dissappears.  So, I let the install configuration run again and rename the XLSTART folder to XLSTART_OLD.  I log out and then log back in.  When I open excel the install
configuration runs again, but after I log out and then back it, the install configuration does not run anymore.  I think that the XLSTART folder was corrupt and it just needed to install a new one.  So far my theory has proved correct, because I
have logged in and out of the Terminal Server and opened excel a dozen or so times yesterday and it open with no problems.  I just tried to open excel again about two minutes ago, and it is still working fine.  I hope that anyone who is having
a similar issue can use this information
    Thanks.
