Office 2007 SP2 Compatibility

I'm looking for a document that specifically specifies if the SAPGUI 7.10 is compatible with Microsoft Office 2007 SP2. I've found a few notes stating corrections to specific issues with Excel 2007 but I need something that specifies that SP2 is compatible with SAP. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Hi , check the
Note 722513 - Desktop Office Integration: Maintenance information
Note 1286768 - OFFI:Support for Office 2007 files (*.docx and *.xlsx)
Note 1413494 - Composite SAP note: Supporting MS Office 2007 in workflow
SP are unspecified, i'm think SP are not mandatory in this case.
Regards.

  • Outlook connector crashes with Office 2007 SP2

Hello. Microsoft has started pushing out Office 2007 SP2, resulting in Outlook crashes for Connector users who apply the patch. The only workaround we've found is to restore the users's system with Windows Restore, and then hide SP2 with Windows Update. A Connector uninstall restores normal Outlook operation. A reinstall of the Connector does not fix the problem.
    We're running Outlook Connector 7.2.402.1.

"the store x is being re-pushed to the indexer for the following reason: index reset, re-push entire store"
Is there a solution? Will a patch will be issued for Connector 7.2? I haven't tried Connector 7.3 because our messaging and calendar servers don't meet its version requirements.
    David.

We're seeing the same issue with Office 2007 SP2 and Connector 7.3 Update1. We're running JCS 5 (roughly Update 1 patches on top of it).
Here's the MS error each time. I can click on Calendar, Contacts, and Tasks. As soon as I click on any email folder, crash.

I also tried this with the Office 2007 Outlook Feature pack (also contained within SP2) that was released early for various performance fixes. Same error issue. I resolved by uninstalling the Feature Pack. I tried uninstalling SP2, no luck. I also tried uninstalling/reinstalling the SJ Connector, no luck.
I will check desktop search, see if I can turn it off for Outlook and see what occurs.

  • Will upgrading to Office 2007 SP2 cause any problems with syncing?

I've got to figure this question has been addressed somewhere, but searching for "2007 sp2" found no topics...
So Microsoft's got Office 2007 SP2 available for download now. One of the highlighted changes is speedier Outlook performance which I'm anxious to experience. But I've had issues when I initially synced my iPhone to Outlook and then again when I upgraded to the latest iTunes s/w. Not looking forward to dealing with that again.
Is Office 2007 SP2 officially supported for syncing with the iPhone? If not yet, when & how will users be notified? What experience have people had that upgraded to SP2?

If the documentation doesn't say it is officially supported, then it's not officially supported. As for when, no one here will know--none of us work for Apple. The documentation will probably be modified once stability has been confirmed (or once issues are discovered).

    Hi Community,
has anyone experienced how EXCELSIUS 2008 works after upgrading MS-Office 2007 to the new SP2 ??
(including "2007 MS Office Suite Service Pack2 (SP2)" and "MS Office Compatibility Pack Service Pack 2 (SP2)" and "Security Updates for MS Office System 2007 (KB969618)" and "Update for 2007 MS Office System (KB967642)")
We're going to upgrade our PCs and need to know about any possible trouble/problems with our mission critical applications (and EXCELSIUS was identified as one of them
    Thanks in advance ...

I'm not sure if MS Office 2007 SP2 will actually cause any problem, but according to the supported platform list for Xcelsius 2008 SP1, MS Office 2007 SP2 is not listed (Office 2007 is).
    Other Tools
    =============
    Office      (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word)
    Windows Office 2003
    Windows Office 2003  SP1
    Windows Office 2003  SP2
    Windows Office XP  SP3
    Windows Office 2007
Fix packs typically do not include additional platform support, so I believe that 2007 SP2 is still not supported as of FP3. I'm pretty sure though that Office 2007 SP2 will be supported in the very near future...

  • OFFICE 2007 and Acrobat

I had reported on some issues of using OFFICE 2007 with Acrobat 7 and 8. I suspect there was a problem with AA9 also. Typically the result would be graphics with lines through them, at least when expanded. This would often appear that your graphic had been split into parts and pieced together in Acrobat. SP2 for OFFICE 2007 was released recently and I went back to test this issue with the new release. At this point it appears that everything is working great. This follow up is to suggest updates to BOTH OFFICE 2007 and Acrobat if you are having some problems. On this machine I am running VISTA business, OFFICE 2007 (SP2), and AA8. Bill

    Thanks for the update.

  • "Password is incorrect" after Word 2007 SP2 is installed

    Hi,
I have a word add-in. I use the protect and unprotect methods on a document.
The password is decided by the program is always the same.
After installing Office 2007 SP2, the unprotect method throws an exception saying that the password is incorrect.
Is it a known bug? is there a workaround?
    Thank you,
    Shay

I'll second what Cindy says that this is not the forum for Word issues. However, I can not duplicate what you describe. If you start a thread in a Word NewsGroup - perhaps here: http://www.microsoft.com/office/community/en-us/default.mspx?dg=microsoft.public.word.application.errors&lang=en&cr=US - and provide more detailed information, I will look at it further.

I had to uninstall my office student 2007 and when I tried to instal it again the dvd wouldn't work.  It would spin but couldn't read it.

    Hi,
    Thank you for using
    Office 2007 Application Compatibility forum.
From your description, I understand that you are unable to reinstall Office 2007 with the DVD, as the system could not read the DVD. If there is any misunderstanding,
please feel free to let me know.
Before we go further, I would like to confirm the exact version of your operating system. Is there an error message when the system trying to read the DVD?
At the same time, I suggest trying the following:
    1.
Insert the DVD on another computer. Can it be read?
    2.
Insert other DVDs on the current computer. Can the computer read the DVDs?
We can also go to the computer manufacture’s website and to see if there is any update to the DVD driver. Please update it to the latest one.

  • Word 2003 w/ Office 2007 compatibility pack crashes after writing PDF

Writing PDF from Word 2003 SP3, all patched, using (most recently) Acrobat 7.1.0 has for some months crashed on my system after the PDF is written but just before the Acrobat window closes and control of Word is returned to the user. Word is hung so severely that it is not possible to close it with Task Manager. And, it happens every time, whether from a single-page document or a >300 page API document with extensive graphics, links etc.
The generated PDF is complete and valid, but has not been closed, so at this point it cannot be accessed. No choice but to reboot, after which the PDF can be accessed and is just fine. Word shrapnel (temporary files) litter the folder because it never closed properly.
Searching the net I could never find anything that sounded like my problem. It felt to me like a font issue. On a hunch, I uninstalled the Office 2007 compatibility pack (which comes with Vista fonts that I've never used), and along with it, several associated Office 2007 security updates and service pack 1 for the compatibility pack.
Once again I can write PDF's without hanging Word. If I had nothing better to do with my time, I might try reinstalling the compatibility pack, its service pack and the updates one by one to see when (or if) the problem might return... but this has caused me enough grief so all I'm prepared to do is post this information in the hope that it might help someone else.
BTW - I also use Solid Documents PDF Converter once in a blue moon to create Word docs from PDF files. It also has PDF generation capability, which I tried as a troubleshooting measure. Same result. Clearly this is nothing to do with Acrobat per se.

Sad to report that a few days later, the problem had returned, so my joy was short-lived. Now it's even more mysterious than ever. Why would uninstalling a compatibility pack provide *temporary* relief?

  • E90 and Office 2007 Compatability

Ihave office 2007 on my laptop. When i transfer files to my e90, it does not recognise them. I have to save the files on my laptop in office 2003 format and then transfer again to my e90 which then recognises it. Is there a way around this or an update for the office that is installed in my e90? Also i have pocket express which came automatically installed on my e90. I see its java and hate that application after suffering errors in my nseries handsets. When i remove it either via app manager or via the menu option using the c-option, when i restart the phone the application pocket express appears again. Is there no way to delete it permanently?

And a lesson for the present!
    (Persian Proverb)

Hi there as far as I know the latest version of E90-1 software (V300) has support for Office 2007. If you want to do it an easier way, enter the office menu and then quickoffice. Scroll to updates and you should find a reasonably priced update for compatibility of 2007 documents.
As for your second issue, there must be an installer file somewhere on your phone that keeps re-installing the application. You must un-install this as well when removing the application and this should stop it from re-installing very time you restart.

  • RoboHelp X5 compatability with MS Office 2007?

Will our existing RoboHelp HTML X5.0.2 (Build 606) projects continue to function properly when our company switches to the MicroSoft Office 2007 suite?  Thanks in advance - obviously I'm not a techie...

Hi RonHyson and welcome to the RH community.
Word 2007 is not supported in RHX5. However you can still use RHX5 with Word 2007 installed provided you never want to use any of the word functionality. This includes use of the RH for Word application or (in the RH HTML application) the importing of Word documents or the Printed Documentation single source layout.
Note that if you install Office 2007 you will have to reinstall RHX5.
