Office 2010 Displaying Duplicate Entries of the Same Printer

Hi,
Looking for some guidance on how to resolve this odd behavior we're seeing in Office 2010. In each Office 2010 app, when you go to File > Print, we find that certain printer objects are duplicated. I'm able to repro this problem which
has been reported by some of our business users. In my case, one of the printers shows a status of "Ready", while the other shows an unending status of "Connecting to printer...". I have removed this printer object and associated
drivers a couple of times and re-installed but every time I load Word, Excel, etc., the printer is listed twice in the printer list. Just focusing on MS Word 2010, I've tried deleting Word's "data" key, renaming Normal.dotm, but I can't get
these bad printer entries to disappear. I've tried connecting to different printers but the result is the same. The only common thread with this is that the printers that appear as duplicates are all network printers. I don't have a problem
with the send-to-onenote printer, Adobe printer or other local printers. Anyone else seen this behavior?

Please try this:
Printer must be off. Right click on printer icon. Delete device. Both instances will be deleted. Turn on printer. New device found. Installed device driver.
This behavior can occur if a serial number is not stored in the printer's read-only memory (ROM). When this occurs, the bus cannot determine if the printer you reconnect
is the same printer or a different one. As a result, a duplicate printer is added.
Please contact the printer manufacturer to inquire about the availability of updated USB firmware.

I've not had that problem.
The usual reason why an artist appears several times is because of spelling differences, capitalistion, or guest artists.
For example, "Dire Straits" and "Dire straits" may appear together in your iTunes Library, but become separate entries on the iPod. "The Clash" is different to "Clash, The".
If one track on an album is listed differently to the rest, say as "The Clash featuring a guest artist", then this too would be listed separately to "The Clash". The usual fix for this is to add the featured artist to the track name and remove it from the artist's name.
The hardest one to spot is stray spaces after a band name . You can see the one I deliberately put in at the end of that last sentence, but it's not so easy in the Artist field, where full stops (period) are not used.
An easy tip is to copy the artist name from one track, and paste it into all the others by that artist. Then Sync the iPod with your Library for these changes to take effect on the iPod.

They are all different. Hover your mouse pointer over each of the "Content Type" descriptions and you should see a "tooltip" to see that each has a different description.

Fixing duplicate database entries for the same audio file

My iTunes Media folder is stored on a network accessible storage server. Since upgrading to 11.1.x, my computer seems to be duplicating database entries for the same audio files - for some albums, I have 4 entries for every song, each one pointing to the exact same file. The only difference between entries is rating info and play counts, which are specific to a particular entry (I think). Has anyone else seen this behavior? Is there an obvious way to stop this from happening? I can delete and rebuild the database from media files, but that starts getting old if I have to do it every week or so. Is there a script to delete duplicate database entries? (I found a VB script on the iTunes for Windows community, but the offending machine is a Mac).

Multiple entries of the same topic in calendar

Hi, i am having trouble with my calendar, as in it displays multiple entries of 1 entry on the same day! eg. if i have one entry then it displays that same entry about 15-20 times on that same day in a list!!! can anyone help with this fault?

I'm having same problem but where there are duplicate calendar entries, one of the entries cannot be changed (doesn't have edit button)and the other entry can be changed. Needed to reschedule a doctor's appointment and wasn't able to delete b/c there isn't an edit button. So it stays there. Don't know which date is the new rescheduled date. I have iPhone 3g. Since iPhone4 my 3g is extremely slow too.

Missing and duplicate entries in the calendar

I'm a long time (1997) Palm user who's moved to a BB 8330 last month. I can't seem to get calendar syncing to work correctly. In some instances, I am missing items on Outlook. I often have duplicate entries on the handheld. I've searched the forums and there seem to be similar issues and the solutions appear to be around Service Books, but I'm not confident I have a clue how not to lose lots of info.I also cannot seem to find information that explains the relationship between email addresses & calendar (I don't see why there should be any!!!)
Scenario (trying to answer up front the questions from other forum posts):
I am using Outlook on my home computer to manage my personal calendar. I do not have an email account associated with Outlook.I have set up 2-way sync with Outlook for calendar, tasks & contacts
My work uses Lotus Notes. I have set up one sync to the handheld only from the Lotus Notes calendar
The only email account configured on the BB is a gmail account (which is not associated with either calendar). I originally set this up via the wizard, then removed it, but added it back (under Email settings) when I discovered I couldn't send email from the Address book without it. I actually prefer google mobile for email management since it modifies the server state as well. Not sure if the add/remove/add sequence has somehow messed up the calendar?
I have checked under Calendar > Options and two calendars appear. Based on the color associations it appears that Device Default is associated with Outlook personal calendar & my gmail account is associated with the Lotus Notes calendar entries. As far as I know I did not create these associations.
Checking under Options > Advanced Options > Default Services, I see CICAL & CMIME entry and those are both the gmail account.
Checking under Options > Advanced Options > Service Book, I see only one CICAL & CMIME entry and those are both the gmail account.
Separately, I do have a couple of mobile apps to read email (gmail- same acct - and yahoo), but those appear to not integrate into the BB apps directly.
Everytime I sync with Outlook, I end up with lots of duplicate entries on the handheld. I have also noticed that I am missing entries that are on the handheld, but are not on Outlook (in one very odd case, the entry was created on Outlook and now only exists on the handheld). I may have deleted duplicate entries related to the missing items at one time... I can't be sure about that. I believe I currently have a complete calendar on the handheld, but not 100% confident I have a good calendar anywhere.
And as an aside, have to say I'm really bummed that I have lost easy access all my Palm historical data. It appears BB will not bring in old calendar data by design (found that in some BB documentation on their site). Now that I will not keep up with Palm upgrades, at some point I will lose access to that data. Sigh.

Each of those entries at the RSS site show up in my Firefox RSS folder twice. The content of each entry when I go to it is exactly the same. It's not that one is the reply to the original post or anything like that. For instance, see the attached image of the list of items that show up. The highlighted yellow on top is an example. Both of those links display exactly the same original post and replies. Why is that? Is is possible that somehow I'm subscribed twice? Does that make sense? How can I delete the duplicates, or for that matter, clear all those items that show on the list? I just want to see the new ones. Thanks.

Multiple entries for the same genre in iPod, but iTunes is fine

In the Genre list in my iPod, there are several copies of a few genres -- for example, there are like 4 or 5 "Dance" entries under Genres.
Each duplicate genre contains the same songs, and the total number of songs in my iPod matches iTunes. So why there are there multiple Genre entries, and how can I get rid of them?

A spelling or punctuation mistake, or sometimes a trailing space usually causes this after the artists and/or song/genre name, which fools the iPod into thinking that there are two different artists or songs/genres. The trailing space is the hardest to spot.
Best way to cure this is to go into iTunes, highlight that artist and/or songs, right click on them and select "get info".
This brings up the multiple song info window. If you see the "artist" field (or in your case, the genre field) is left blank, then there is a discrepancy with that name.
So to correct this, in the artist or song box retype the name, as you would like it, and then click ok. You should do this even if no mistakes are immediately visible.
Re sync this new artist/song info to your iPod.

OpenType Frutiger fonts in Photoshop displaying different weights for the same instance.

Really weird bug I've noticed. Our client has provided us with Frutiger LT Std. type family and Photoshop. We are using the fonts for their designs, but instances of the same font look different. Let me explain...
If I apply Frutiger LT Std. 65 Bold to a headline at 20px, it looks fine. If I make a new layer and apply the same font treatment, it renders like a semi-bold (note: there is no semi-bold in our Frutiger font family); the difference is clearly visible. If I create a character style from the correctly displaying headline instance, and apply it to a new line of type (or an existing line of type), it displays incorrectly as a semi-bold font. If I duplicate a correctly displaying headline instance, the duplicate will do the same thing. However, if I drag/copy the correctly displaying headline instance, it displays correctly and looks fine. It's a small bug, but it's causing big inconsistencies in our design and taking a lot of time to fix.
I've tried deleting the fonts and re-installing them in Font Book. No luck.

In everyone of those instances, I've shut down Photoshop and restarted my computer.

I have the following context structures in WDA.
A ( Cardinality 0..n, Selection 0..1, Supply function - B_ITEMS)
-B( Cardinality 0..n, Selection 0..1, Supply funtion - B_ITEMS)

- B2
- B3
- B4
A1
A2
A3
A4
I populate 3 items in the context node B in the supply function B_Items.
I bound this context node to a table (with dropdownbykey) in web dynpro application, I can see 3 items in the dropdown field in all 10 rows.
But when I bound this context to the Table in Interactive Form (SFP), there I have a table with Enumerated dropdown list in all 10 rows.
In runtime the dropdownlist has 30 records ( 3 * 10 ), it gets duplicate items.
Do you know why I am getting duplicate entries in the Interactive Form dropdown list?

i've never used the supply functions...
but it sounds like it's running through the function for each row. is it a table you pass? Can you check to see if it's already populated before passing in the values? i wonder if you can set a variable in the code to skip if it's already been run once.

Multiple entries of the same movie on Apple TV

I've imported a number of movies that i'd previously ripped using Handbrake into iTunes. They all play fine, and look great. The problem is that some of them are showing up multiple times (4x) in the primary Apple TV movie directory. This is strange because it only happens with some movies and I only have one copy of each in iTunes and on my iMac. As a double check, I changed "sources" and looked at the streamed view of the same iTunes library the movie only shows up once.
I've used the same settings to rip and import the movies. The Incredibles, and Madagascar show up 4 times each, and Shrek and Finding Nemo show up once.
Any ideas?

I had a similar problem with duplicate entries in the movie section. Today when I unplugged the Apple TV to test it with a SD (standard definition) set I had in the house I noticed that the duplicate entries went away when I powered it back up on the SD set.
All I did before I unplugged it from the HD set was set it to 480i under TV resolutions and then I hooked it up to my SD set. When I hooked it back to my HD set the duplicate entries were still gone.

Multiple entries for the same company.

Anybody out there have any idea how to enter multiple entries for the same company in Mail without having to enter all information every time for each individual. This was a very basic feature in MS Outlook. Possibly a workaround if not an option within Mail? Thanks.

Select a card with the details on it, and Edit/Copy /Edit/Paste (Command-C Command-V). Now edit one of the cards with the new individual's details. If starting from scratch, create a company card with no personal information and duplicate it as needed.

Outlook-2 different entries for the same person (but not the same email)

i was asked to switch from outlook 2007 to outlook 2013 as a trial.
For some reason, I get two different entries for the same person (but not the same email), one which is the name as normal and one where the name has ' around it. In the below example:
I have 24 emails sent to Ciaran and then a further 14 sent to 'Ciaran'
The email address for both is exactly the same and it does not seem to matter if I create a new email or reply to an incoming one.
I switched back to Outlook 2007 and the issue is still the same.
any suggestions?

I would say that there is no way to prevent Outlook from doing it, it dependents on how the sender formatted the sending address, not the recipient who replies.
To fix this:
Open the message and double click the address and view source
Just replace the generated Display As with the Display As you want

Duplicate entries in the menu - how do I edit?

I have installed two apps: Vlingo and Navita.
In the menu for, say... text massaging, at the top I have two entries that read:"Reply with Vlingo" and two that read: "Translate with Navita". (There are several duplicates)
I uninstalled the app and then re-installed it, yet the duplicates are still there. Given that there are several entries and several programs that have these duplicate entries in the menu, they are cloggin up the menu.
How can I edit out the duplicates?
