So you have Office Home and Student 2010 on that model.
There may be a repair option for that preinstalled version. Try this.

  • "An Office 2003 installation on your computer is corrupted and setup cannot continue" error on Office 2010 Pro install

I am currently trying to install Office 2010 Pro Plus onto my machine that has Access 97 and Access 2003, Visio 2003, Excel 2003, PowerPoint 2003, and Word 2003 installed. I need to keep the previous versions of Office installed as they are used for development
work. When I try installing Office 2010 I've stopped with the following error message: "An Office installation on your computer is corrupted and setup cannot continue. Remove or repair the Office 2003 product and re-run setup." I can't remove and
repair doesn't seem to do anything. Most posts suggest removing previous office versions or deleting/altering the MS Office registry keys (which would damage the previous versions of Office). Is there a solution to install Office 2010 independently of any
    other version of Office installed?

I figured out a method to finally install Office 2010 bypassing the error stated in the title, by manually removing all the keys that included the term "Office 2003" from the Windows registry.
I share my fix with more details and pictures step by step here :

Please note that you need to be very careful when manually editing the Windows registry as it may cause problems to your operating system and even cause a massive failure requiring you to re-format your disk.

  • Office 2010 problem

    Hi there everyone.
Recently my laptop was not functioning well, the Windows Store are not responsive also all the Windows Apps, not to mention my Microsoft Office was faulty here and there. I tried the Refresh function, but it didn't work, so I went and reset my laptop to
default settings and every problem was solved, or so I thought. I tried looking for Microsoft Word, but there is only Microsoft Office activation page. It asked for my product key, but when I entered my product key, it says that what I entered is not a Microsoft
Office product key. Help me, I really need to get my Office working for my thesis :(

This area is only for OS activation issues, but I can tell you that the product key for Windows is different than that for your Office install.  The one for your Office install is likely on the CD holder that you received with your purchase.  For
more help you should post your question in the
    Office 2010 forum.
And just in case of dire emergency, Open Office is a free alternative that can even read docx files.  Just sayin'
Please do not read this sentence. Please ignore the previous sentence.

  • By mistake i just unistall ms office 2010 from install/uninstall kindly help me

    Hello,
    my self manan patel
    i have bought new laptop on january ( Intel 2nd Gen Core i5 i5-2410M / 2.3 GHz )
by mistake i have uninstalled microsoft office 2010
kindly help me that how can i activate again...
    looking for help...
    thanks in advance

your MS office must be a starter edition which is a promo pack by Microsoft. there is no re-installation allowed for this pack, its one time install only and for test and experiance. if you like it, you need to buy full version from Microsoft.com.
if you purchased full MSoffice with machine(its written on the box if its full or starter only); you get the option to re-install it using media shipped with computer. try visiting HP recovery manager and select application installation. if you have full version, possiblity of option available there to re-install it again.

  • Adobe Acrobat X Pro & Office 2010 problem

    So.
We have a machine with Windows 7, Office 2010 Home and Business and Adobe Acrobat X Pro
Earlier everthing was ok, but now we have a small problem.
The PDFMaker don't work with Word. The Add-on is disabled and when I try to enable nothing happends. In Excel and PowerPoint it works.
I've tried to repair Adobe. Tried to uninstall the PDFMaker part and reinstall. Tried to repair Office. Also restarted the computer. No difference.
Still working in Excel and PowerPoint, but in Word the PDFMaker isn't available.
    What can I try now?
And of course, we use it mostly with Word.

    Hi "McBack",
You can try deleting the entry for PDFMaker in the disabled items @ “HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Word\Resiliency\DisabledItems". The entry corresponding to the PDFMaker can be checked via double-clicking the individual list items under “Disabled Items” hive and checking for the string that reflects the location of PDFMaker COM-Add-In, say “C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 10.0\PDFMaker\Office\PDFMOfficeAddin.dll”.

    Hi,
to modify an existing installation (e.g. to change a feature state from "Absent" to "Local/Installed"),
    you can do this several ways;
    a) create a customization MSPfile (with OCT) and deploy that:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc179141(v=office.14).aspx
    b) create a customization XMLfile and deploy that:
     http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc179195(v=office.14).aspx#ElementOptionState http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc178956(v=office.14).aspx#BKMK_modify
    c) uninstall and reinstall Office

  • Project Professional 2013 Installations Fails with Office 2010 installed on Windows 7 x86

When attempting to install Project Professional 2013 Pro (x86) on Windows Professional x86 PC that has Office 2010 ProSp2 installed client getting an error message at the end of the installation "Project 2013 has encountered an error during setup".
I have gotten the installer to work on x64 PC with Office 2010 installed. (Something worth noting that even thought I set the reboot to prompt its automatically reboots without warning but, appears to be working.)  I also tried using the OTC, custom XML
file and just running setup.exe and get the error no matter what. When looking in the logs I there are MSI installer error with an error: Product:
Microsoft Project Professional 2013 - Update '{A6FFA77F-C1C1-43D3-A2C7-6A5B68138D9F}' could not be installed. Error code 1603. Windows Installer can create logs to help troubleshoot issues with installing software packages. Use the following link for
instructions on turning on logging support: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=23127
Without having to uninstall Office 2010 what do I need to modify in the installer to get it to Project 2013 Pro to install on the x86 machine?
    Thanks

    Hi,
Your environment will support 32 bit of Project professional 2013 (x86) as you have Windows and Office of (X86).
You try to modify registry then you wont face issue.
The issue when you hit a "1653" is that Windows
Installer "DisableRollback" is set. Office 2013 requires that "rollback" be enabled. If you are getting a "1653"
error in your logs as Ken did then the solution is to delete the "DisableRollback" (or set to '0') at the following registry keys:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Installer
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Installer
these are the issues I've seen:
Scheduler service was stopped. At a cmd window typing "net start schedule" resolves the problem.
CMD.exe was customized via the following registry key. Solution was to temporarily disable the customization by changing autorun value to autorun_old.
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Command Processor
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Command Processor
Permission issues - seems some custom permissions affected Ingram's install which he explained in his previous post.
Environment variable "ComSpec" had been modified (semicolon added). Fix was to remove the added semicolon (there should be no semicolon).
The way to identify you are hitting this specific issue is if in the %temp%\OfficeSetup.log there is a mention of "Office64MUI.msi" failing to install with return value of 1603
If you want to enable verbose logging via the following key, rerun your failed install, and collect all the setup and MSI* logs that will give more information.
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Installer]
    "logging"= "voicewarmup"

  • Problem uninstalling Office 2010

My company is currently using Office 2010 ProPlus via O365 subscription.  We are preparing to update to Office 2013 and I am trying to create a script that will uninstall Office & Lync 2010 and install Office 2013.
I'm having trouble finding a way to uninstall Office 2010 from a script.
I've tried to follow the instructions I found here, but when I run the command:
    setup.exe /uninstall ProPlus /config uninstallconfig.xml
    I get an error:
The product installation has been corrupted.  Run setup again from the CD, DVD, or other original installation source.
The install source I'm using is a shared folder on our network, which is the same location Office 2010 was installed from.
I've tried using both /uninstall ProPlus and /uninstall ProPlusSub as I'm not sure which one is correct.  I get the same error both ways.
    Any suggestions?

Just like the error says that your installation has been corrupted. I would suggest you to use Microsoft Fix It tool to remove Office 2010:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971179
Or you might repair Office 2010 first, then try to use /uninstall command again.
For the command, please check whether you have typed the correct ProductID. For more details about
    /uninstall, please refer to:

It works correctly in Firefox, IE, Chrome and Safari. I have installed Office 2007.
But when I test it in a new pc with Office 2010 installed, it does not work in Firefox browser (it works in IE, Chrome and Safari)
This is the console java error:

  • Installing Office 2010 64-bit Trial

    Hello,
I need to install a trial version of Office Profession Plus 2010 64-bit onto a server.  I mistakenly installed the 32-bit version of the trial, and now after uninstalling it (on the same day), the 64-bit version of the trial will not install.
I am getting an error saying "Error 25004: The product key you entered cannot be used on this machine".
If the 64-bit trial does install, and it integrates well with other 64-bit software in my environment, my company will purchase licenses.  Before purchasing those licenses though, I need to see it working in my development environment.  How
can I get the 64-bit version of the trial installed?
    Regards,
    Brian

    Hi Brian,
If you are attempting to install Office 2010 Trial on a machine which has Microsoft Office 2010 Trial installed once, you will have this error.
This functionality is by design, only one Trial installation is permitted. You might want to try with another machine.

  • How to uninstall Office 2010 32 bit and install Office 2013 64 bit

    Hi Everyone,
I am rather new to SCCM.  I have setup a SCCM 2012 SP1 system.  I am now trying to setup an Application where it will install Office 2013 64 bit.  Everything seemed to go smoothly until I tried testing it.  I received an error that I
cannot install the 64 bit version of Office 2013 because Office 2010 32 bit is already installed.
I tried to modify the MSP where it will uninstall Office 2010 before installing Office 2013 but apparently as soon as it starts it checks for the 32 bit installation and exits when it finds it.
Could someone give me a detailed solution (since I am new to SCCM)?
    Ken

While referring to older versions of office I think this link may apply: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/f255e17d-4e1f-4231-8a88-d63f41c83c52/how-to-automatcally-uninstall-office-2007-32-bit-for-installation-of-office-2010-64-bit?forum=officesetupdeployprevious
Also you might create an office 2010 package, with an uninstall program that removes it.
Then in your office 2013 package make the uninstall for 2010 to be run first.

  • Deploying Office 2010 with SP2 / Access runtime 2010

I am trying to install Office 2010 thru OCT / GPO. Starting a computerstartup script which runs a batchfile. The batchfile is starting the deinstalltion of Office 2003 and installs Office 2010. In the updates folder is also SP2 integrated so that SP2 is
    also installed.
In another batchfile and another policy i also install Access Runtime 2010.
The problem i have is that the installation of office 2010 is starting and installs, however the SP2 is often not. Sometimes it does and sometimes it don't. That is also the fact for Runtime 2010. Sometimes it does and sometimes not, then only Office 2010
    is installed without SP2.
because he sometimes installes access runtime 2010 and Office 2010 SP2 it makes it more difficult.
The batchfiles are running in computer startup script so before the user can log in to their W7 systems.

  • Deploy Office 2010 gpo/oct activation

I am trying to deploy Office 2010 Standard through  group policy startup computer script. A batchfile runs which starts the setup off Office and a msp file. First office 2003 gets deinstalled and Office 2010 installed. This all go fine but the activation
fails. When i start a Office program the program wants to activate.
Reading on the Internet about this problem comes with a lot of solutions which do not work. Solutions like AUTO_ACTIVATE and ospp /act in the oct configuration already tried without luck.
We use a proxy server in our orginisation but the proxy server is set in Internet Explorer. The difference is that the installation runs as a system user when set as computer startup script policy. Maybe that is the issue that the system user cannot reach
    the internet....
Off course when i login as the user and start for example excel then he cannot activate because of the user rights. A prompt appears of UAC that a username and password must be given but that can not be left over to the users....
We use a MAK key and not KMS (not a solution because MAK key is chosen..)
Also tried to activate remotly thru ospp but then a error appears 0x80072ee2. According to Microsoft this has something to do with rights, but how to overcome this problems.
I would like a silent install thru GPO and no user intervention, including activating....
What is the best way to solve this problem?
    freddie

I have almost the complete silent install however struggling with activation. Tried the above command in OCT with the cmd.exe /c etc switch but nothing happens because after starting a office programm activation requered coms in. It could be do that the installation
is in a batchfile and runs in a computer GPO maybe the system user has no rights to activate….
I cannot find a log file in %temp% to see what errors are…
I have also tried to set a batchfile at computer startup the runonce and even force in the OCT to start the machine up after Office 2010 is installed but then i need to restart the machine again because the runonce batchfile is put there after a restart is
taken place i guess so the machine needs to reboot the second time for the activation batchfile runs.
I am now seeking a easy way to activate silently and automatically without user intervention.
    Summarize what i have tried:
configure office thru OCT in the OCT tried AUTO_ACTIVATE =1 and add registry keys which adds a key in the runonce to start a batchfile which suppoce to activate Office. But after install office the machine restarts and after login the batch is not started,
    it is started next reboot....
Als tried in OCT to run cscript OSPP /act as a command post installation.
Non of the above works. Auto_activate and the direct script OSPP does nothing. The batchfile in the runonce starts the OSPP command but after a new restart so it needs 2 restarts.
The msp file is saved on a shared resource and the command to start the msp file is put in a batchfile which runs at startup script thru gpo, so maybe the local system user which runs the installation then cannot access the internet or whatever but thatswhy
i made  batchfile in the runonce so that batch is started under the user, but if only the batchfile would start after the installation and reboot of Office 2010 and not reboot again to start it...
What else can i do to activate Office automatically?

  • Office 2010 SP2 deploy several systems

We are deploying Office 2010 Standard thru Group Policy. SP2 i downloaded later so there are a dozen systems already installed office without the SP2. The meaning is to also install the SP2 Office to the machines which have gotton Office 2010 without SP2.
The quistion i have is: how do i deploy SP2 Office update thru GPO to several machines which already got the Office 2010 Standard installed. How to install Updates office thru GPO? This is not a setup file but all MSP files in the SP2?
I have already seen that one can do it by script but how?
    freddie

    Hi,
Your require could be done via script. I think you need to add some if-else sentences in the script. We could use version number to determine which machines need to install SP2.
The version number of Office 2010 SP2 is greater than or equal to 14.0.7015.1000.
The version number of Office 2010 SP1 is greater than or equal to 14.0.6029.1000 but less than
    14.0.7015.1000.
The version number of the original RTM release of Office 2010 (that is, with no service pack) is greater than or equal to
    14.0.4763.1000 but less than 14.0.6029.1000.

If you need more help about writing the script, please post your qusetion to script center forum:
