Office 2013 disable privacy option but no GPO

Hello,
I want to disable the following privacy options but cant find any GPO setting for it. Somebody know where the settings are located?
Allow the Research task pane to check for and install new services
Allow sending files to improve file validation
Thanks.

Hi,
Office Administrative Template file doesn’t include those privacy settings (there are many Group Policy Settings are missing from the Administrative Template).
I would suggest you to use Process Monitor to get related registry keys and push the changes out through Group Policy Preferences:

  • Disable Delete option but enable edit option for a content item?

    Hi,
    Appreciate your input on this. The portal version being used here is 3.0.9.8.2.
    I would like to have the following privileges setup for a content folder's items.
    - one group can edit and delete items
    - one group can edit but not delete items.
    However looking at the access types available at the folder level - there are only "view only" , "edit style", "manage items", "own folder","create with approval".
    The "manage" privilege is simply a catch all privilege. User can edit, checkin/out and also delete an item.
    How do I prevent a user/group from deleting an item ? (or atleast disable the rendering of the 'X' delete icon?)
    I did experiment with the audit option by enabling version control which is somewhat helpful in that I can preserve the older versions, but like above, I cannot enforce that.

    thanks for your answer Mr. Atkinson, that was excatly what I need. This is my code inside the event receiver:
    public override void ListAdded(SPListEventProperties properties)
    SPList list = properties.List;
    list.AllowDeletion = false;
    list.Update();
    but the above code dont have any effect on the list, I have still the Item with DELETE THIS LIST in the listsettings.
    do you know maybe why? or can I also debugg it?
    thanks in advance

  • Afterburner - Disable Overclocking options, but not monitoring

    Is there any way to disable the overclocking options in Afterburner, without losing the monitoring options ? (temps...)
    i don't want to overclock. (and also not by accident by moving those sliders by accident !) but i do want to keep monitoring.
    if it isn't possible, is this something that could be added to a wishlist for a new version ?
    Thank you in advance !

    Quite invalid point. You can minimize Afterburner but keep monitoring if wanting to oc with another tool although that EVGA tool surely not ocs better than Afterburner. Besides it is irrelevant what manufacturer your board is as Afterburner not only monitors cpu temps when MSI boards are used. Point still is that what is requested is useless.
    I still think the option to have the overclocking features completely hidden from the time you open the program till the time you close it would be really nice, and I for one would use it, and at least one other person in this thread would as well, so it's not completely useless.
    And let me clarify, Afterburner and Precision X are extremely similar, either can overclock my card, but, they have slightly different increment levels, my card is a factory overclock, so, already being overclocked, I don't have a whole ton of headroom for additional overclocking, I can get an additional 81Mhz on the core clock, that puts me right at a 250Mhz total overclock from stock, nice round number, anything past that, and it becomes unstable, atleast without a voltage boost, Afterburner won't land right on 81Mhz, it's either 76 or 84, that's why I use Precision X for overclocking it, not better, just different.

  • Office 2013 click to run: configure specific options like in /admin setup

    Hi,
    In an Office 2013 click-to-run install, how can we  set f.e. the Exchange server, disable Junk mail protection (we have a seperate system for that), disable RSS, username to be used in Outlook (%username%) etc?
    We have that when using the office 2013 setup.exe /admin but not in the click to run.
    I don't find these options in the config.xml reference: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc179195%28v=office.15%29.aspx
    Please advise.
    J.
    Jan Hoedt

    Hi Jan,
    Click-To-Run version of Office 2013 does not contain the Office Configuration Tool (OCT). And the
    Config.xml file mentioned above is used to customize Windows Installer-based Office 2013 installations, not for Click-To-Run version of Office.
    To configure these specific options for Click-To-Run version of Office 2013, you can use
    Group Policy Administrative Template files (ADMX, ADML). The policy settings apply to both Windows Installer-based (MSI) and Click-to-Run version of Office 2013.
    Download link for the Group Policy Administrative Template files (ADMX, ADML):

  • Problem with uninstalling Office 2013 SCCM 2012 R2

    Hi, I am in a process of learning SCCM 2012 R2. Currently I am focused on application management so I started by deploying Office 2013 to test collection with only one member - direct rule membership by computer name. Deployment process finished without
    any problems - I kicked off installation from Software Center on client machine. Having installed Office 2013 I tried to uninstall it but I got an error: Setup can't find or validate an installation file. Please try reinstalling . . . . In SCCM server I entered:
    setup.exe /uninstall ProPlus /config .\ProPlus.ww\Uninstall.xml
    in uninstall program line. Uninstall.xml file is nothing special:
    <Configuration Product=”ProPlus”>
    <Display Level=”basic” CompletionNotice=”yes” SuppressModal=”yes” AcceptEula=”yes” />
    </Configuration>
    I tried to uninstall Office 2013 from cmd line but I got the same error. I can manually uninstall Office 2013 by running setup.exe file and following wizard but that does not mean anything to me except it proves installation files are not corrupted. Office
    2013 installation .iso file is downloaded from MS Volume Licensing Service Center.

    In SCCM server I entered: setup.exe /uninstall ProPlus /config .\ProPlus.ww\Uninstall.xml
    in uninstall program line.
    I've responded in your other thread:
    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/fd735611-95bf-46f6-8add-2229a52e3e93/i-can-not-uninstall-office-2013-from-command-line?forum=officeitpro
    Hi, your command-line is not valid - you are using a "relative" path for the <config.xml> and that is not supported..
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc178956(v=office.15).aspx#BKMK_config
    Note: You must use a fully qualified path. Setup does not recognize relative paths with /config.
    Instead, I suggest that you copy your "Uninstall.xml" file to the same folder where setup.exe exists, then, adjust your command-line like this:
    setup /uninstall ProPlus /config Uninstall.xml

  • Crystal report 8.5 export to csv and rtf format not working with office 2013

    Hi Experts,
    Crystal report version 8.5 hangs and eventually crash when i export my report to csv or rtf format on windows 7 with office 2013 installed, code is written in VB 6 although the same scenario is working with office 2010 installed.
    i debugged the code and found the application hangs at function Report.Export(False).
    below is the code snippet
           .PDFExportAllPages = True 'ePDFExportAllPages
           .PDFFirstPageNumber = ePDFFirstPageNumber
           .PDFLastPageNumber = ePDFLastPageNumber
           .RTFExportAllPages = True 'eRTFExportAllPages
           .RTFFirstPageNumber = eRTFFirstPageNumber
           .RTFLastPageNumber = eRTFLastPageNumber
           .UseReportDateFormat = eUseReportDateFormat
           .UseReportNumberFormat = eUseReportNumberFormat
           .UseReportNumberFormat = eUseReportNumberFormat
           .XMLAllowMultipleFiles = eXMLAllowMultipleFiles
           .XMLFileName = eXMLFileName
           Report.Export (False) ----Application hangs here and eventually crash
    Looking forward for your help, as it is very urgent
    Regards
    Mohit

    Hi Mohit
    CR 8.5, being about 15 years old, does not support Windows 7. I am surprised this works for you with MS Office 2010 and to be honest, I'd consider my self lucky there. The fact that is does not work with office 2013... well, like I said, lucky with Office 2010 and your luck ran out with Office 2013.
    Your option; rewrite the app in VS 2010 / 2012 / 2013 and use the CR Assemblies for VS .NET from SAP Crystal Reports, Developer Version for Visual Studio .NET. The CR Java SDK would be another option.

    Merci d'avance

    Hi digital_badger,
    as you sure have seen in the link it is not officially supported by NI, which means to you one of the following things:
    1. You could upgrade your LabVIEW and your Report Gerneration Toolkit to Version 2014 and use MS Office 2013
    2. You could just try it with MS Office 2013 which might work but if it's not working you don't get any support from NI.
    Even if someone tried it already and it worked for him does not mean that it will work on your machines. It is possible that on some of your machines it could work but not on others. Their can be a lot of problems while playing around with unsupported setups.
    3. You could leave your setup as it is and stick to your MS Office 2010.
    I hope I could give you a good answer to your question

  • Cannot install Office 2013 - Seup cannot find or validate an installation file

    I downloaded the trial version of Office 2013 to evaluate it, but was unable to install it because I kept getting the following error...
    Setup cannot find or validate an installation file.  Please try reinstalling office from your installation source or if you installed from a downloaded  package, please re-download and reinstall.  If you continue to haVe problems
    contact Microsoft or your system administrator.
    I tried re-downloading the program - again I was met with the same problem.  I tried running the setup file as administrator - problem remained.  I tried copying the program to the hard drive and running it from there as the administrator - problem
    remained.  I downloaded Microsoft  fixit tool for problem installations and ran that - that was no use either.  The error message just kept coming back again.
    I am assuming the setup file is corrupted in some way but seem unable to get an alternative setup file that will actually INSTALL.  Or is there something so blatantly obvious going on that I'm missing it?
    Help please!

    I deployed Office 2k13 to client machine via SCCM 2012 R2. It did that flawlessly but I got the same error after trying to uninstall Office 2k13.
    setup.exe /uninstall ProPlus /config .\ProPlus.ww\Uninstall.xml
    Uninstall.xml file:
    <Configuration Product=”ProPlus”>
    <Display Level=”basic” CompletionNotice=”yes” SuppressModal=”yes” AcceptEula=”yes” />
    </Configuration>
    I can uninstall Office 2k13 manually by running setup.exe and following wizard but it is not automatic process so it sucks.

    Hello community,

  • Office 2013 removed grammar & writing style options for Portuguese (Brazil) language

    The pt-br (Portuguese - Brazil) proofing tools for Office 2010 included many grammar options but apparently these have been removed in Office 2013. Pt-pt (Portuguese - Portugal) still retains these options for some reason. I asked about this issue on the
    Microsoft Community forum and the forum moderator confirmed that the Brazilian Portuguese Office 2013 spell checker does indeed lack these features.
    I know that the pt-br proofing tools was designed by Itautec Brazil. So I contacted the project leader and she answered me as follows:
    " Someone from Itautec contacted Microsoft and they answered: “Microsoft has now replaced all of the above features with our own versions - we do not intend to ship the Itautec features with any new Microsoft product.”"
    I would like use Office 2013, but I cannot work without a robust Brazilian Portuguese spell checker. Is using Office 2010 my only option?

    You can go to this page and click Download button to download Microsoft Office Proofing Tools 2013 - Portuguese (Brazil):

  • Office 2013 refuse to show rich Grammar options in just ONE language

    The bottom line is that Office 2013 Professional Click to Run allows me to use full “Grammar” and “Grammar and Style” features on ALL languages but Portuguese.
    I use both English and Portuguese. Word allows me to check lots of stuff in English, but it
    only allows three things in Portuguese
    (Capitalization, Punctuation, and Spacing) and do not display the “Grammar and Style”  option.
    I´ve tried to use Spanish and French and both show full options like in English.
    I´ve tried almost everything I could think of, including uninstall everything, install the Office 2013 Professional in Spanish and install both Office LangPack2013_EN_x86 and OfficeLangPack2013_Brazilian_x86.
    It did not work. I´ve also already upgraded to Windows 8.1.
    One thing you must know is that, by mistake I´ve choose Portuguese to Windows 8 single language installation option. When I´ve realized this, I´ve reset to factory default and
    choose English. I am wondering if this initial misstep did not left some language problem on the operational system level.

    Hi JRBMendes.
    I had the very same problem as reported by you. What I did was just place the Office 2013 CD in the DVD driver and click install. In the option field, click "Repair" or "Reparar" if you are using the Portuguese version. After finishing repairing, it will
    ask you to reboot the system in order to complete the repair. Bingo. Worked just fine and you have style and grammar option back again.
