Occasionally shutting down in the middle of the night while on charge, meaning my alarm doesn't get me up for work!
When I look on forums and the ultra shiny Sony website it seems there is a solution- Version 9.1.A.1.140 supposedly fixes these issues. My problem now is getting the damn update!!! I have tried using bridge for mac, and also the phones built in software update app but everything tells me my phone has the latest software WHICH I KNOW FOR A FACT IT DOESN'T!!!
What does Sony plan to do about this? Is there a known timeframe in which this problem will be sorted out? Or is the phone just going to be abandoned like my previous phone the Xperia Play was?

Office 2013 updates fail on computers with Access 2013 installed

I have about 10 workstations with the combination of Windows 7 enterprise 32 bit, Access 2013 and Office 2007 installed.
SCCM offers up both Office 2007 and Office 2013 updates to these machines, but the Office 2013 updates, fail to install.
The same thing happens when I go to Microsoft updates and manually install the required Office 2013 updates.
I read that one of the updates required Office 2013 sp1.
But when I downloaded it, it won't install: KB2817430 "The expected version of this product was not found on the system."
This is the second month I've had the failures. I removed KB2878316 and KB2889927 from my deployments and packages to stop repeated install attempts.
But this month I've got a new on failing, KB2899493.
Is there a way around this problem?

When you start a version of Access on a computer that has multiple versions of Access installed, the Windows Installer may start, and
a message that states that the Windows Installer is preparing to install Access may be displayed before Access starts.
Every time that you start Access 2003, Access 2007, or Access 2010 after you use Access 2013, the Windows Installer repair operation registers
that version of Access. Similarly, the Windows Installer repair operation registers Access 2010 every time that you start it after you use an earlier version of Access. This does not occur when you start Access 2002, nor does it occur when you start the same

We all (unfortunately) can't deny that Chrome is 'faster' than Firefox while Firefox is way more customizable. I heard that Mozilla will concentrate on the performance of Firefox this year, make everything smooth and load web pages faster. Is that true? Is there really something planned regarding this? Meanwhile I'm switching to Chrome, but I'd be happy if Firefox could also beat Chrome with performance and I'd be able to return back.

Hi mike2033, Firefox shouldn't pause or glitch when switching tabs between ordinary HTML pages. They should appear as fast as you can press Ctrl+Tab to move between them. Do you notice any pattern to the problem, whether related to actively streaming media or especially long and complex pages like the Facebook news feed? Pages can set scripts to run when a page is activated (gets the focus) or when you navigate away from it (losing the focus), which could make some pages slow to start up, but it shouldn't be a global phenomenon. If there's a new bug here, it would be nice to get a good description of when it happens.
If you get in the mood to experiment, you might also test in Firefox's Safe Mode, That's a standard diagnostic tool to bypass interference by extensions (and some custom settings). More info: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]].
You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using
Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled ''(Flash and other plugins still work)''
In the dialog, click "Start in Safe Mode" (''not'' Reset)
Not sure whether you will notice any difference. Maybe an increase in ads will make it slower than it was in normal mode...

Did you uninstall iTunes 11 and replace it with iTunes 10.7? If so, you'll need to go through a few steps to put things right:
Rename "iTunes Library.itl" to some other name;
Copy newst ITL file from the "Previous iTunes Libraries" folder into your main iTunes folder and rename it to "iTunes Library.itl";
Download iTunes 10.7: http://appldnld.apple.com/iTunes10/041-7195.20120912.d3uzQ/iTunes10.7.dmg
Download/install shareware app called Pacifist;
Open Pacifist and, separately, mount iTunes DMG file -- drag iTunes PKG file into Pacifist and install iTunes via the Pacifist application -- be sure to answer yes to replacing everything Pacifist asks about;

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
* "Clear the Cache": Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"

When will LabVIEW Drop Support for the NXT?

We currently use LabVIEW to program LEGO NXT kits in our engineering courses. However, LEGO is phasing out the NXT within the next year or two. Does anyone know the LabVIEW/NXT life cycle plan, i.e., when will LabVIEW no longer support the NXT platform?

NI doesn't currently have a definitive roadmap for future NXT support in LabVIEW, but I recommend you check out the community page for updated modules. I would also recommend adding any feedback you have regarding future releases to this page in the comments section and periodically checking this page for support updates.

When will Lightroom and Elements support the Nikon D600? In the meantime is there a workaround so the D600 raw files can be exported to Lightroom or am I simply out of business until Adobe develops the needed patch?
As best as I have been able to figure out I may as well rebox the 600 and go back to my older, supported camera, until whenever.

A: What were you using before your precious D600 showed up today.
A D90 with good glass.
Nikon 70-200 f2.8, Nikon 24-70 f2.8, Voigtlander 58 f1.4, Tokina 11-16 f2.8.
Now I need to get a good FF wide solution for the D600.
Trigger on the D600 is much more stiff than my D90 so I'm having to press down a bit harder to get the AF confirmation. Just need to get used to that I guess.
FYI, JPG files right out of the camera are looking good.

I had been using Apple's Aperture and switched to Lightroom a couple of months ago. I thought the price was actually quite fair for the power of the LR software. I did have to updgrade my computer's RAM....

We did enjoy some vino last night! I was thinking I would possibly jump ship to Sony A99 and just switch to all Zeiss glass with autofocus, but I'm not convinced that the EVF is for me, and I'm really not a video shooter, mostly just landscape and real estate. Also, I the Sony turned out to be priced a bit too high for me personally in comparision to the D600.

I can't find the new messages anywhere -- they have not moved to Saved, Junk, Trash, anything. IT is like the iPhone just ate them. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?

If you have a POP3 account this means that another "client" email program has retrieved the messages and deleted the messages from the server. You need to change the server settings on that device to leave the messages on the server.
If you have an IMAP or MS Exchange account this means that someone read the messages on another device and either deleted them or moved them to another folder. Or there is an automated script that moved them to another folder.
