Office 3013 32bit Pro Plus vs. Standard (Developer tab, add-in issues)

In a domain environment with Windows 7 64bit systems and Office 2013 Standard 32bit installed, we have had some issues with using Outlook templates.  When the outlook templates are opened/created and then edited and sent, the resulting email is missing
all edited content and looks as the original opened/created template.  Also, the developer tab is not enabled by default.
When Office Pro Plus 32bit is installed on the same system, the templates that are opened/created are able to be edited and sent without issue.  Also, the developer tab is enabled by default.
Has anyone else ran inot this before or have any suggestions?
Thank you for your time.

Hi,
How did you create the templates? Through an add-in?
Does this issue happen to all custom Outlook templates?
If you installed any security programs, please temporarily turn off them to check the result.
Please let me know the result.

  • How to make sure Office 365 (2013) Pro Plus click to run updates after it is installed on a computer

    We are getting ready to move from Office 2010 MSI to Office 365 (2013) click to run ProPlus.  Everything is ready to uninstall and install the new product.
    My question is if the Updates Enabled="TRUE" is not in the configuration.xml file will machines with the click to run office 365 pull updates from the cloud?  I had been told that the Enabled=TRUE is not needed in the configuration file as
    it is a default setting.  We want our machines to pull down updates from the cloud in place of providing a manual update location on our network.
    Our configuration.xml file looks like this:
    <Configuration>
        <Add SourcePath="\\Server\Share" OfficeClientEdition="32" ForceDowngrade="TRUE" >
        <Product ID="O365ProPlusRetail">

      <Logging Name="OfficeSetup.txt" Path="C:\temp" />
      <Property Name="AUTOACTIVATE" Value="0" FORCEAPPSHUTDOWN="TRUE" />
    </Configuration>
    Thanks,
    Brit

    I am trying more to control the process via GPO with a start-up script and have created a batch file which executes the below command. It works and installs which ever version you define in your .xml file, the only issue i am facing is that re-runs the setup
    at each reboot which isn't ideal. I am currently working on below script which could check the version of the office upon boot-up and only run if the specific version is not available. I have pasted the script right at the bottom of the page and if anyone
    could shed some light in making it to read the version value
    "\\server\c2r\Office365 update\setup.exe" /configure "\\server\c2r\Office365 update\Customconfign.xml" (this is the batch-file used as a startup script)
    PLEASE NOTE: There are three <Add SourcePath in my Cutomconfig.xml and not all three are required I use the one i need by taking the <!-- and --> from the beginning and the end  of each line

  • Office 365 pro plus 2013 update won't apply automatically

    Hi
    We have started to use office 365 pro plus 2013 click to run. The issue / problem we have is that the updates are installing but does not apply. The version of word,excel.. Is old
    and i need to manually go to example word and account to apply the updates. I want the updates to automatically apply.
    In the config file i have enabled updates. <Updates Enabled="TRUE" />. I have also enabled updates thru group policy and checked that the policy is applying.
    In the registry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\15.0\ClickToRun\propertyBag i have the following keys:
    updatesenabled = 1
    UpdatesDiscoveryPeriodComplete = 1
    updatesreadytoapply = 15.0.4535.1511,en-us
    UpdatesDiscoveryPeriodStartTime = 13026393682226
    updatesthrottlevalue = 313
    version = 15.0.4535.1004
    Does anyone have this problem and know how to make the updates apply automatically. I know that if there are office applications open it won’t apply or update but i have a test
    computer with no office applications running in the process list and still it won’t apply the updates.

  • Is CS3 Design Standard compatible with Windows 7 64-bits and MS Office 2010 Pro Plus?

    Hi,
    I have been googling around to see if Adobe CS3 Design Standard is compatible with Windows 7 64-bits with MS Office 2010 Pro Plus, but I couldn't find a decent answer.
    If anyone here has any idea on this, please let me know.
    As far as i know Adobe CS3 comes with Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro which is not compatible with MS Office 2010, so I am sort of worried that I will need to upgrade my CS3 to CS6.
    Any advises are welcome.
    Thanks.

    I don't know if Acrobat 8 is Win 7 64 bit compatible or if it's supported. The rest of the apps should be fine.
    But I do think you'll have issues with Office 2010 files being placed into InDesign.
    Moving to CS6 is something you should be thinking about very soon. You only get upgrade pricing until the end of the year, but I highly recommend taking a look at Creative Cloud. At $29.99/month for the first year it's a bargain.

  • Upgrade Office 2010 Standard to Office 2010 Pro Plus using Config.xml

    Hello,
    I am upgrading Office 2010 Standard to Office 2010 Pro Plus. But after using the below config  pro plus did get installed but both versions of Office 2010 ( Stand and Plus ) show up on the machines. I want only Office Pro plus to appear.
    The second issue is that even after uninstalling  Office 2010 Standard from the Control panel the Office shows activation of both ( Going to --File ---Help)
    How can I edit this config.xml to remove office 2010 Standard first and then upgrade to Office 2010 Pro Plus?

    Hi,
    Here is not a Config.xml solution, but we can use it as a workaround, basically automate the uninstallation of Office 2010, reboot the computer and then deploy Office 2010. You may find the following article useful if you need more info on that.

  • Activating Microsoft Office 2013 Pro Plus? Volume licensing needed?

    Hello,
    I have unique scenario in my company where we need to install office 2013 pro plus on 10 hard drives. Each hard drive has its own windows 7 operating system. Due to security reasons, the setup consists of one computer tower (with no primary hard drive) that
    has a slot in tray for one hard drive. These hard drives are accessed one at a time. There are not set up on a network and do not have internet access. What would be the best method of installing office? Of course we could install 10 copies of office on the
    10 hard drives, but this would be expensive. I keep hearing about KMS (Key management service) and MAK (multiple activation key) which I believe would require volume licensing. Is this a possible cheaper alternative? Would we need to set up a server to manage
    the keys?
    Any feedback is appreciated.
    Thank you

    Hi,
    A volume licensing aggreement is the best plan for your case, I think.
    Multiple Activation Key (MAK) activation is used for one-time activation through Microsoft hosted activation services, either via the Internet or by telephone. Each MAK has a predetermined number of allowed activations, this number is based on volume licensing
    agreements.
    KMS is a client-server model in which the client requests activation from a computer serving as the KMS host. KMS activation requires TCP/IP connectivity between the clients and the KMS host. By default, KMS host uses DNS to publish the KMS service. It works
    best with more than 50 computers.
    So I think the best choice for your scenario is MAK as your setup is not on a network and only need 10 copies of Office. Also, with MAK, you don't need a server to "manage the keys" as the MAK key need to be added at installation time.

  • Deploying Office 365 Pro Plus from a network share?

    I have setup a network share to install to a number of users, who I have applied licensing to and have created a script to run the setup with the xml configuration file.
    The install runs completely fine, installs the 365 Pro Plus, but when the user goes back and starts a program, I get the activation needed button and the user clicks on it and up comes the Install product page that redirects to their online account and asks
    for the Office to be installed again.
    Here is my xml config file. Is the autactivate portion correct?
    <Configuration>
        <Add SourcePath="\\leo\office365" OfficeClientEdition="32" >
        <Product ID="O365ProPlusRetail">
          <Language ID="en-us" />

    Hi,
    As per the description, I understand that you are having issues with Office 365 activation after the installation.
    I have tested this on my own machine (with a similar configuration.xml file). It works well if I enter the correct email address that's associated with this Office subscription.
    Does this affect all users (email address)? I'd first suggest you check if you've installed the correct version of Office that's associated with these user accounts.

  • Office 365 Pro Plus - updates from the internet

    Hi All
    I've used the Office deployment toolkit to download Office 365 Pro Plus to a local file server, and have now packaged this up within SCCM 2012 for deployment to clients.
    In my configuration.xml file i have the following set for updates
      <Updates Enabled="TRUE" />
    I understand that this setting allows for updates, and client will download them from the internet.
    Is this correct?
    I am concerned that the Office 365 source files i downloaded are a few months old now, so will be out of date and i am relying very much on my deployed clients to be downloading updates as expected.  Do i need to do anything else?
    Thanks

    <Updates Enabled="TRUE" />
    I understand that this setting allows for updates, and client will download them from the internet.
    Is this correct?
    That's correct, with Updates element configured as "TRUE", the Click-to-Run update system will check for updates from the CDN server automatically. So with this configuration, you will always be up-to-date:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj219426.aspx#BKMK_UpdatesElement
    Deploying with an old build should be no problem here, but why not re-download a newer build with ODT (Office Deployment Tool). That should not take too much time and will definitely reduce the network bandwidth consumption when Office 365 updates itself
    from each client after the deployment...

  • Office 365 Pro Plus Security Update User Permissions - Sccm

    I plan to deploy Office 365 Pro Plus using Sccm 2012. My configuration setup file has this line Updates Enabled="TRUE" UpdatePath="Share" .  My users are not local administrators of their workstations. If I update the office
    share with a patch, will my users have permissions to install the update? If not then how will my users get updated?
    Steve Bender

    Hi Steve,
    Yes, with this confirguration, every Office 365 client will automatically check updates from the update location configured during setup - "Share", in your case.
    You should make sure that it's a share (like an internal UNC or HTTP path) that every Office 365 client has permission to access.

    Hi tobytyler9655,
    ProPlusWW.cab is a file from Office Pro Plus installation.
    Since ProPlusWW.cab is missing, the installation resource may be damaged. You can download the install resource from Microsoft website and reinstall it.

    Microsoft Office Pro plus 2013 installation wizard pops up everytime I open a Word document or a new page.  I realize that other people have the same problem.  However no answer has been found to stop this problem.  I wonder if there is a
    way.  Hope someone is able to tell me and the others.

    Hi,
    By the installation wizard, do you mean the First Run screen? If yes, please follow the steps below to disable it:
    STEP ONE: If you have not already, download the Office 2013 Administrative Template files. These can be downloaded from
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35554
    STEP TWO: Copy the ADMX files to %systemroot%\PolicyDefinitions and the ADML files to the language specific folder (such as en-us) under %systemroot%\PolicyDefinitions.
    STEP THREE: Using the Group Policy Management Editor go to User Configuration | Administrative Templates | Microsoft Office 2013 | First Run |
    STEP FOUR: Set the Disable First Run Movie to Enabled and the Disable Office First Run on application boot to Enabled
    Please check the result then.

    Using Exchange 2010 Server and Lync 2010 Server at the back. To the best of my knowledge, this option is only available when using Exchange 2013 rather than Ex 2010.
    Can somebody confirm this as I am not 100% sure about it.

    Hi,
    The photo precedence in Lync 2013 is high-resolution photo from Exchange 2013 -> Photo from web address -> Active Directory photo. The "Edit or Remove Picture" button is available if you integrate Lync Server 2013 with Exchange 2013.

    Hi David,
    Are you installing Office 2013 with a CD or source files on your local drive?
    The log above tells us that the failure occurred during the install of the ProPlusWW.msi. "1603" is a generic MSI error code, so doesn't help much here.
    I noticed below part in your attached log:
    "2015/02/06 15:36:55:270::[6108] MSI(INFO): '02/06/2015 15:36:55.254 [3892]: Assembly Install: Failing with hr=80070005 at RemoveDirectoryAndChildren, line 396"
    The error code 0x80070005 is also described as ACCESS DENIED, so you might want check your permissions and make sure you are running as admin.
    Also, if you are installing with a CD, then please try a flat installation (which means perform an installation from an image that has been copied to a hard drive rather than directly from CD media), and see if issue persists. This can help
    with problematic software installations because performing a flat copy is much easier for the computer than the random access reads required during a normal installation.
