Office 365 contacts and public folders

Hi all, I am looking for some help with Office 365, detailed below:
We have a CRM system that emails in multiple contacts meant for particular users within the organisation, and we are looking for how to get these contacts automatically added to particular users contacts lists behind the scenes, this will need to be automated
with no input other than initial setup required. Does Office 365 have the capability to manage this.
If you require any more information, please let me know.
Thanks in advance for any advice or assistance.

Hi,
I'm not aware of such an automatic way to have these contacts added to particular users' Contacts folders. The workaround is to import these contacts from a .csv file, but you need to do this manually for several times. Or we can send the .csv file via an
email to the particulars, then let them import these contacts by themselves.

  • Extract all "business fax" phone numbers from all users contacts and public folders

    Hello,
    I'm looking for any method to be able to extract "business fax" phone numbers from every user's contact list and public folders contacts.
    Is this possible, perhaps with PowerShell?
    We are using Exchange 2010, but this forum posting site only lets me choose Exchange 2013.   Is Exchange 2010 still supported?

    I recevied a reply from the Script Center, telling me to post in the Exchange Developer forums.
    From the Exchange Developer forums I received replies that basically told me I need to figure this out myself and they are not a free consulting service.   Here are the exact words....
    Reply:
    You need to understand that either you have to try to learn Exchange and scripting or you need to search for solutions.
    In most cases with EX2010 there are many utilities build into the EMS that can do almost anything you need however, you need to learn Exchange to be able to even know what to ask for,  This is not a free consulting forum.  It is a forum for
    professionals who use scripting in their work or who are currently learning how to use scripts.
    If you are basically versed in Exchange you wil know that the EX2010 home site has all of the resource links.  You should always start there.
    You need to either get a good book on Exchange administration or sign up for a class in Exchange.  It is not possible to guess at how to manage an Exchange installation.  Exchange is one of the most complex system Microsoft has ever created.
    It may even be more complex that MSSQLServer.  You must be trained at some minimum level to work effectively with Exchange.

  • I can't get the iCloud Contacts and Calendar folders to appear in Outlook 2010 using the iCloud Control Panel.

    I can't get the iCloud Contacts and Calendar folders to appear in Outlook 2010 using the iCloud Control Panel.  Also the datafile share which ends in .aplzod is not created in Outlook.  The Contacts and Calendar are sent to iCloud (verified on iCloud.com) but the iCloud folders are not created in Outlook in the Contacts and Calendar navigation panes.   I get a message toward the end of the sync process indicating that there was an unspecified error.  I'm using the newest version of the iCloud Control Panel, the 32 bit version of Outlook 2010, Windows 7 64 bit, an iPhone 3GS, and the latest version of iTunes.  Any ideas how to complete the sync process to the end?

    Pretty much the same for me: Windows 7 64-bit, Outlook 2010, iCloud Control Panel 1.0.1, iPhone 3GS.  Error report at end of setup process is shown below, and has been emailed.  Any help please?

  • Sync Multiple Outlook contact and calendar folders

    We have multiple Outlook contact and calendar folders in Outlook (Work and Personal). Is it possible to sync multiple folders to the iPhone?

    The problem is excactly what I just found out while trying to sync my new N97, which I also bought for the reason, it was said to be able to sync my outlook contacts (etc.). But sorry, just syncing one folder nearly equals to it cannot sync at all. I am really upset, to see the lack of this function to such a sophisticated mobile and software. (The mobile cannot do nothing about it, it is a problem of PC Suite. But the mobile worth only so much, as it is supported by the software!)
    To add to blutarskys request, it is not only used in business, that people have folders in Outlook contacts. Hello, it is the most convenient way, to organize groups of contacts, like family, friends, colleagues, support, etc. pp. Myriads of people use that function as it is one of the most basic functions.
    So please Nokia, launch this feature up asap. It is deeply requested.
    Without, N97 is of no use for me. I still cannot believe, it is not possible. I still just hope someone will state, that we just overlooked it.
    Kind regards.
    PS: In case you wonder:

  • Office 365 E3 and Office E4 differences

    Hi,
    What are the differences between Office 365 E3 and Office 365 E4? Any link for this?
    What about the Business Intelligence services any differences between E3 and E4?
    Thanks in advance

    Here is the plan description of Office 365 Enterprise E3 and Office 365 Enterprise E4:
    Office 365 Enterprise E3:
    http://products.office.com/en-us/business/office-365-enterprise-e3-business-software
    Office 365 Enterprise E4:
    http://products.office.com/en-us/business/office-365-enterprise-e4-business-software
    Leonidas is right that compare with Office 365 Enterprise E3, E4 plan includes Enterprise voice. For Busines Intelligence services, as far as I know, there is no differences between Office 365 Enterprise E3 and E4.
    By the way, this is the forum to discuss questions and feedback for Microsoft Office client. There is not so much about

  • We have office 365 subscription and we need to merge our Microsoft Dynamics CRM online subscription to office

    Hi,
                 We have office 365 subscription and we need to merge our Microsoft Dynamics CRM online subscription to office 365
     For organization:  Softtrends Software Pvt Ltd (https://softtrendssoftwarepvtltd.crm5.dynamics.com)
    Office 365 organization :  Softtrends Software Private Limited
     [email protected]

    Hi there,
    If you already have two different Microsoft Online services accounts, then this is no easy task. If you sign up for two Microsoft Online services, using two different Microsoft Online services ID's, you basically need to choose which one to throw away, and
    then do a migration from one to another.
    If you have a lot of data in both of them, you could cross your fingers, and make a Service Request to Microsoft, hoping that they could do some magic for you, or at least tell you which migration track that's the easiest one.
    The important part is that you first sign in to the service you want to keep, and then register for a new one using Sign in, in stead of Sign up. This way they are automatically liked to the same Windows Azure Active Directory tenant.
    I hope I understood your question, and was able to help you here.
    /Anders Eide

  • Office 365 logo and link in suite bar

    Does anyone know how I can hide, remove, or change the Office 365 logo and link in the suite bar?
    Stefanie Long

    If you want to hide those two bars please do the following
    1 – Open you site with SharePoint designer
    2 – If you are using a sandbox solution go to _catalogs/masterpage/themename
           If you are using a farm solution got to _catalogs/masterpage/
    3 – Check out and edit in advanced mode the master page you are using
    4 – Search for the comment <!--SuiteBar start-->
    5 – Right before it paste the line bellow
    <Sharepoint:SPSecurityTrimmedControl runat="server" Permissions="ManageWeb">
    6 – Search for <!--SuiteBar end-->
    7 – Just below it paste the code
    </SharePoint:SPSecurityTrimmedControl>
    The SPSecurityTrimmedControl applied remove the suite bar but could not be used to remove the ribbon bar because SharePoint uses this one to calculate the scroll on the page.
    The ribbon bar has to be hidden using a small script.
    8 -  Search for <!--Ribbon end-->
    9 – Right below it paste the script
    <script type="text/javascript">
      var suitebar = $("#suiteBar");
      if(suitebar.length<1)
         $("#s4-ribbonrow").css('display','none');

    I know this may be a simple question, but can anyone tell me the difference between the shared folder and the public folder? To me, they both seem to serve the same purpose and work in the same way.
    Thanks

    Hi Will,
    Search for 'keep shared files' in the Mac Help on
    your computer. The descriptions there should hopefuly
    clear things up.
    Hope that helps.
    iBod,
    I know it has been a long time since you responed to this, but I am just getting around to revisiting it. The descriptions make the shared and public folders seem to be different, but in use they appear to function in an identical manner. Is there really any difference in the way they work? If not, why bother having two specialty folders that do the same thing?
    Thanks,
    Will

  • Exchange Mail Setup and Public Folders

    V1.01 effected some changes in how the iPhone interacts with an Exchange server. Unfortunately, in my case, they were not positive changes.
    In V1.00 the iPhone would create three folders - Inbox, Deleted Items, and Sent Items in the local mailbox. It would ignore most other folders created on the Exchange server such as Calendar, Notes, Spam, and Public folders to name a few.
    In V1.01 the iPhone now processes all the folders on the Exchange server. If I have twenty folders on my Exchange account, all those folders appear on my iPhone. Okay, that is acceptable. However ALL Public folders are now being downloaded to the iPhone as well. NOT okay!
    I now have hundreds of public folders sitting on my iPhone that I do not want there. After discussing this with some IT guys, the finger seems to be pointing at a broken implementation of IMAP on the iPhone, specifically its inability to define subscriptions - delecting or deselcting folders for populating locally on the iPhone.
    I hope this issue can be addressed, and of course true direct push email implemented for Exchange email accounts.

    Hi Paul,
    I replied to a post from you in another thread. It's easy to miss though, so here's what I said:
    "You should tell mail2web that there is an option in Exchange to hide public folders from IMAP clients. I'm an IT manager at a large software company with 50% of our users on Macs. We turned on the option to hide public folders from IMAP clients a while ago, long before the iPhone. It's worked very well and continues to work for iPhone people (like me!).
    There was no reason for us to make public folders viewable via IMAP, so hopefully the same will be true for mail2web."
    I'm actually really glad that Apple made this change. I want to see most of the folders at the inbox level in Exchange and with the Exchange switch turned on to hide public folders, there's no downside.
    Regards,
    fh

  • Outlook personal and public folders via Entourage?

    I'm the only Mac user in my company and for the most part, this relatively new transition has been seamless. The only tricky part has been with personal and public folders that are currently in Outlook - I can't see them in Entourage. Instead of having an intranet, we have all of our policies, forms, procedures, and general (corporate) information in Public Folders, and then our email accounts are limited and we're instructed to use Personal Folders for any emails that need to be kept longer than 60 days.
    Has anyone else run into this, and if so, were you able to find a solution?
    Many thanks,
    Sabrina

    I thought Entourage WAS an Apple product.
    Nope. M$ product. Always has been.
    why we chose to use Entourage instead of Mail in the first place
    Possibly because it's closer to Outlook in "feel" and is somewhat easier to configure from an IT perspective (i.e. they don't have to do anything to get Entourage to communicate with an MS Exchange server).
    Mail can be configured to work with an Exchange server, either by having IMAP support enabled on the server side, or by configuring mail to access the OWA (Outlook Web Access) server. Your IT group should be able to help there (note that "should" does not necessarily mean "will!).
    Hope this helps...

  • Adding note to Office 365 contact

    Hi there!
    I'm using the Office 365 REST API to interact with contacts. I know that Exchange is behind Office 365, so maybe you can help me with this question...
    First, I get the contact ID by querying:
    https://outlook.office365.com/ews/odata/Me/Contacts
    Then I need to add a note to a contact with a specific ID. I'm using the following code:
    public void UpdateContact(string id, string note)
    JObject updateRequest = new JObject();
    updateRequest["Body"] = note;
    byte[] byteArray = Encoding.UTF8.GetBytes(JsonConvert.SerializeObject(updateRequest));
    HttpWebRequest webRequest = WebRequest.Create(String.Format("https://outlook.office365.com/ews/odata/Me/Contacts('{0}')", id)) as HttpWebRequest;
    webRequest.Method = "PATCH";
    // Add the Authorization header with the basic login credentials.
    string authHeader = "Basic " + Convert.ToBase64String(Encoding.UTF8.GetBytes(user + ":" + password));
    webRequest.Headers.Add("Authorization", authHeader);
    webRequest.Accept = "application/json";
    webRequest.ContentType = "application/json";
    webRequest.ContentLength = byteArray.LongLength;
    using (Stream dataStream = webRequest.GetRequestStream())
    dataStream.Write(byteArray, 0, byteArray.Length);
    // Send the request.
    webRequest.GetResponse();
    But I'm getting a 400 Bad Request response.
    I found that notes are the body of the Contact, but how can I set that value? What am I doing wrong here?
    Any hint will be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks!

    Hi Ernesto,
    Not very much sure if you are targetting the correct attribute.
    However the NOTES attribute is called "info" in AD.
    Below is an example:
    SET-ADUSER john.smith –replace @{info=”John Smith is a Temporary Contractor”}
    As for Exchange Online, you might be missing 'S' in notes :
    Notes
    System.String
    The Notes parameter specifies additional information about the user.
    Set-User -Identity Contoso\Jill -DisplayName "Jill Frank" -Notes "Jill Frank is a Permanent Employee"

  • Office 365 (Word) and Onedrive comparability issue

    I have successfully used MS Mesh / Skydrive /
     OneDrive for years to sync my documents/PDFs folder between my desktop, laptop, phone, and iPad.  A month or so ago I purchased Office 365 and it caused all sorts of havoc in my Onedrive folder.  The thrust of the issue seems to
    involve Office 365 and Skydrive getting in the way of each other while trying to keep the documents up to date.  As skydrive tries to upload changes to a folder with Docs in it, a few of the documents will not update (leaving the red mark on the document
    icon instead of the blue check-mark showing it is up-to-date).  Office 365 share point will also give a list of documents that it was unable to sync (the list matches the trouble files in Skydrive).  Once this error hits a file, all of the content
    for the document is zero'ed out (and the file size decreases to 0 KB).  Thankfully, thus far this has only caused me to lose data from old, unimportant files.  This morning I lost data from an important file, but I had a backup of it saved in my
    email.
    I've tried a bit of my own trouble shooting.  At first I thought that the issue revolve around documents created in earlier editions of Word, so I created a folder in my Onedrive that was populated only with Office 365 Word documents, but this
    did not resolve the issue.
    It seems as if this problem affects documents randomly.
    My hunch is that it occurs when Office 365's sharepoint tries to update a file at the same time Onedrive is updating the file.
    I also use the iPad app PDF expert to access my skydrive folder on the iPad (because I store PDF's in the folders as well), but I don't believe it to be the issue because: (1) it worked perfectly fine before I installed 365, and (2) the problem
    with Onedrive and Office 365 persisted after I disabled PDF Expert's sync with the Onedrive.
    Note: Office 365 worked fine until I used it to upgrade the version of Office installed on my computer.
    I do not want to be forced to keep my Word documents separate from my Onedrive folder as I store numerous non-Word documents in my Onedrive folder as well and need to save them in folders with Word docs.
    Thank you.

    The solution is very simple.
    You have to install Microsoft OneDrive from the Mac AppStore. It synchronizes your OneDrive folders to the Mac. Afterwards, you usually find a OneDrive folder in your Home folder. From there, you can access all files as usual. If you change any file, it will be synchronized in both ways (Mac to OneDrive, OneDrive to Mac).
    I use this on a daily basis and have no problems with it.
    Have a nice day!

  • GAL Sync - Office 365 - Contacts in all devices synced with O365 GAL

    Dear Team,
    We are deploying Office 365 and want a script\option where we can synchronize the GAL with the contacts of Outlook\Mobile devices on a periodic basis. Please assist
    Regards,
    Deepti

    You will need to post O365 questions in the O365 forums.
    The GAL is automatically sync'd  with all devices.  Changes to address lists are immediately available.  It is up to the device to sync to Exchange which should be automatic for supported devices.
    ActiveSync technology is "active"  it is not periodic.
    If you are having problems here are some causes of address book failures:

    Post any further issues in O365 forums.

  • Office 365 Portal and Azure

    I have a very generic question.  If I setup an office portal 365, where does the data for all the office portal 365 features including sharepoint reside? Is it installed in SQL server database on cloud by default? Also, where does Azure come into
    play?

    SharePoint is a hosted, shared environment. It is not hosted in Azure (with the exception of Fort Knox data, but that data isn't accessible via your Azure subscription). If all you had was SharePoint, the only area where Azure comes into direct play is
    that your accounts in Office 365 will be on an Azure AD instance that you can access via the Azure subscription.

  • Office 365 Small Business - Public website error

    Hi,
    untill today I have had a working public website on my Office 365 Small Business plan. But I decided to try to change the site theme, I chose the sunflower theme in Oslo way. From the time of this change the website stoped working completely. Whatever I
    do always the error page occures. I have tried everything to fix it, but without success.
    Is there any way how to reset so called "new public website" to the default situation (I can not get to any historical version of the pages so I can not use the suggested way that is desribed on the help webpage.)
    Thanx for your answer,
    Michael

    1. its hosted exchange
    2. no, they wont transfer the domain. they can let microsoft manage the dns but that just involves changing the nameservers.
    3. yes for mx and mail related records.
    4. it depends on the current configuration, but is possible. but unless there is a reason to keep them on the other server, you can set up shared mailboxes for those addresses. these are unlicensed and there is no extra cost.
