Office 365 Direct Access SCCM

Hi,
Recently we deployed a bunch of laptops using SCCM (windows 8.1) but having a partial issue with Office 365 via Software Center.
When laptops are within domain:
- Office 365 installs during OSD
- Office 365 installs via Software Center
When laptops are within domain via Direct Access:
- Office 365 downloads but fails at installing.

I have seen some other post where they suggest it is a permission issue but in my case there are no pop up windows and the content was cached to user directory.
Also confirming that source folder (files and file sizes) are all matching compare to local cached folder.
Administrator full access to file (myself logged in as administrator)

Hi,
Found out what the issue was... not really a issue to be honest.
As I am managing SCCM at the same thing, I have office 365, Visio and Project installation as a separated package.
When I try to run Visio and Project while Office (Lync and Outlook) are running, it will instantly fails.
Once I turned those software off, it works like magic.

  • Display level suppressed when installing Office 365 ProPlus via SCCM even though XML says Display Level="Full"

    As the title says the display level is suppressed when installing Office 365 ProPlus via SCCM even though XML says Display Level="Full"
    I would like to install Office ProPlus with the display level visible to the user.  Not all users are local admins so I've installed Office within the admin context.  Does this happen because SCCM installs under system context and as such suppresses
    pop ups to the end user?
    Has anyone been able to get this to work or am i doing something wrong?  If someone can offer me some guidance please.  Here is my XML:
    <Configuration>
    <Add OfficeClientEdition="32" >
        <Product ID="O365ProPlusRetail">
          <Language ID="en-us" />
        <ExcludeApp ID="Access" />

          <ExcludeApp ID="Groove" />
          <ExcludeApp ID="Project" />
          <ExcludeApp ID="SharePointDesigner" />
          <ExcludeApp ID="Visio" />
        <ExcludeApp ID="OneNote" />
          <ExcludeApp ID="Publisher" />
        </Product>
      </Add>  -->
    <Updates Enabled="True" />
    <Display Level="Full" AcceptEULA="TRUE" />
    <Property Name="FORCEAPPSHUTDOWN" Value="1" />
    <Logging Name="OfficeSetup.txt" Path="%temp%" />
      <!--  <Property Name="AUTOACTIVATE" Value="1" />  -->
    </Configuration>

    When i install Office 365 ProPlus manually (independently of SCCM) I see the prompts (same SCCM Package and configuration.xml file).  This suggests it is suppressed when ran in the system context via SCCM.
    How does Microsoft expect you to maintain the build versions (running setup.exe /configure XML) if users are unable to view the prompts? This is significant if the user is already in an Office program they'd get prompted with a message to close the app else
    it automatically closes OR fails depending on if you include the ForceAppShutdown switch in the configuration.xml file.
    The users in the environment are not all local admins which is why i cannot run the deployment in the user context.
    I really need some help, anyone?

  • Office 365 Customers: General Availability for Access Apps

    The news hit last month that Access Apps would be available for all Office 365 customers, well now we can all move full speed ahead. So, what does general availability mean? Customers can now create, share, and use the Access Apps with the same level of full
    guarantee as the rest of Office 365. Prior to the announcement, the Access Apps were not under the Office 365 service-level agreement (SLA) and were available only under preview.

    Hi,
    I find the content which you mentioned above is talking about from the blog:
    http://blogs.office.com/2014/02/03/access-apps-general-availability-for-office-365-customers/
    Access apps are databases that run in the cloud on most browsers, if you need to know more information, please wait for the blog update.

  • Bypass Proxy for Local Addresses - Office 365 connection/ Outlook 2010

    This is a strange one.  Connectivity to Office 365 within our netwotk works fine although very slow for outlook 2010 client to initially connect. Once connected, it works ok.  I have done a netwotk trace using netmon to see if i can identify
    the reason for the slow startup (2 mins minumum for profile to load and for outlook to connect to exchange). The trace tell me that my local pc tries to make a direct connection to the office365 external IPs first, then tries the TMG proxy. Once it hits the
    proxy, it kicks into life and works.
    So it looks to me like it thinks the external IP address of office 365 is an internal address and spends it time trying all the ip addresses until it trys the proxy.  At this point, the
    Bypass Proxy Server for Local Addresses is ticked.
    As soon as i untick this box, all traffic heads directly to the proxy and of course it connects like lighting.  The exchange settings proxy is set in outlook for "on fast networks, connect using HTTP first, then connect using TCP/IP" (tick
    is on) and the same for slow networks.
    I cant for the life of me work out why it tries to connect directly to the external IPs first and not connect via TMG until i untick the
    Bypass Proxy Server for Local Addresses
    Would love any ideas that may assist.

    We have been in discussions with Microsoft over the last few days on this issue - which is seen with Outlook 2007 versions onwards.  Extract from resolution communication from Microsoft:
    The issue you have raised is known as it has been reported and when you have a proxy set in Internet Explorer and “Bypass proxy settings for local addresses”, Outlook will attempt to connect to Office 365 directly – like the bypass rule would apply.
    Because the direct connection is blocked in the Firewall, Outlook needs to have the connections going in Timeout before attempting to connect using the Proxy.
    Your network trace proves the issue.
    Microsoft have scheduled a fix for Outlook 2010 in February 2014 cumulative update. A fix for Outlook 2013 will also follow, but Outlook 2007 will not be addressed because it is in Extended Support.
    There are two possible workarounds for this behaviour:
    First, and I wouldn’t recommend it, is to allow Direct traffic through the Firewall to Office 365.
    The advantage of this approach is that it will be done centralized and it will impact everyone immediately.
    Information about the O365 IP addresses
    There are two downsides to this behaviour:
    1.  First you need to maintain the Firewall exceptions as IP from O365 server can change without notice
    2.  Second, winhttp traffic may go through both proxy and direct and this can cause unforeseen behaviour.
    The second approach is to use a proxy pac instead of manually setting in the proxy and the exceptions.
    The advantage is that you will have centralized method to control how winhttp traffic goes and the issue will not be experienced anymore.
    If a single pac does not be fit, you can configure proxy pac files for each site requirements and use an IIS server to store it.

  • Uninstall Office 2010/2013 to deploy Office 365 ProPlus

    following clarification is needed:-
    some of the pc is installed with Office 64 Bit edition, we are trying to remove the existing office (desktop) before deploying office 365 ProPlus. SCCM 2012 R2 is going to be used to uninstall office. my question is that can I remove/uninstall 64 bit Office
    using 32 Bit setup.exe or it has to be 64 bit for 64 bit office and 32 bit setup.exe for 32 bit office.
    also if I am looking for assistance to create query that can result in 64 bit and 32 bit office using SCCM. please paste the query in the response if possible.
    Thanks
    Farrukh
    Farrukh Anwar

    I would recommend that deploy a script that first removes the old version of Office and then Deploy the new version.
    My favorite script tool to use with SCCM is the PowerShell App Deployment Toolkit, and that would be great in this example too.

  • Access to office 365 api

    Hi team,
    i have been building up native applications and has access to Microsoft tenant in azure and there i have already the mobile application. Also i can add the webapi's to my application once when i went to configure tab and hit add on the bottom.
    So from here i can add office 365 exchange online api and set the delegated permissions to required field.
    Also i went through couple of articles and videos which shows how to get access to office 365 api.
    http://www.microsoftvirtualacademy.com/training-courses/deep-dive-integrate-office-365-apis-in-your-mobile-device-apps?m=11496
    As mentioned in video we add the connected service and it sign in to microsoft account and register the app.
    Also add some client id to App.xaml . And when we went to tenant application page we can see the new registered app with a client id.
    Please let me know if i already has the application in azure and i have added the office 365 exchange online api , then shall i need to do above steps or i can directly hit the api service Uri's.
    thanks,
    NItesh

  • Deploying Office 365 Pro Plus via SCCM

    Hi
    I am trying to deploy Office 365 Pro Plus via SCCM, I followed this process https://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/How-To-Deploying-Office-70e8b1eb#content , we don't use the application catalogue but I made the application available to be run via system

    Though can't get it deployed, I keep getting some errors about checking internet connections ...though I can run the command manually and it'works.
    Does anyone managed to install it via SCCM ?

    Thank you for the reply,

  • Office 365 Pro Plus Security Update User Permissions - Sccm

    I plan to deploy Office 365 Pro Plus using Sccm 2012. My configuration setup file has this line Updates Enabled="TRUE" UpdatePath="Share" .  My users are not local administrators of their workstations. If I update the office
    share with a patch, will my users have permissions to install the update? If not then how will my users get updated?
    Steve Bender

    Hi Steve,
    Yes, with this confirguration, every Office 365 client will automatically check updates from the update location configured during setup - "Share", in your case.
    You should make sure that it's a share (like an internal UNC or HTTP path) that every Office 365 client has permission to access.

  • Access to my Office 365 third-party app for external user : "a User account is not registered for the account"

    In my third-party web application of Office 365, I want to have access to the contacts, events and emails of all the users from the organizations who installed my app. The thing is I don't want that all these users have to grant me access, I just want one
    admin of the org to grant access for my app and then be able to retrieve the data I need for all the users.
    To test for one organization, I logged in as the admin and proceed to the Oauth2 authentication to retrieve the access token and in the first request (the GET one to retrieve an authorization code) i add the parameter
    prompt=admin_consent.
    With this access token, I can access the data (emails, contact, event) of the admin
    for instance for the contacts
    uri: https://outlook.office365.com/ews/odata/Users(adminemail)/Contacts
    but not the data of the other users of this org with this uri
    uri: https://outlook.office365.com/ews/odata/Users(useremail)/Contacts
    The only thing I can do is retrieve an access token for each user but it supposed that each user has to authorize the access to the app but it's very cumbersome. So, i don't see what enables the parameter prompt=admin_consent and how to use it. Does anybody
    know what it does?
    And my question is: how can I do to access the data of all the users of one organization when the access has been granted by one admin?
    Thank you!

    You are sending the OAuth request to a tenant specific endpoint of Azure AD. Note the {key_provided} part of your Url - that part represents the tenantid or a registered domain name of an Azure AD tenant. Azure AD throws this error is the user signing in
    is not a user in that tenant.
    Multi-tenant applications like yours have two options:
    Perform home realm discovery yourself and send the SSO request to the correct tenant-specific endpoint of Azure AD: when a new Azure AD organization signs-up for your application, record its tenant ID, and registered domain names. On your login page, ask
    the user for their email and try to discover what Org they belong to using the suffix the email.
    Use the common endpoint of Azure AD. Instead of the {key_provided} part of the URL, use 'common'. In this case Azure AD will determine the user's tenant and sign-in the user. The token that your application will receive will still be from the user's tenant
    (iss claim).
    2 is more convenient for apps. However #1 has an advantage when the user's Organization has customized their sign-in page with the company logo etc - in the case of #1 the user will directly be taken to the customized and familiar sign-in page.
    I recommend a combination of the two: try determining the user's organization and sending them to the tenant specific SSO endpoint. If you're not able to - send them to the common endpoint.

  • OneDrive for Business for iOS Devices - Accessing Non Office 365 Hosted Sites

    Hello,
    I have a SharePoint site that I host on premise and am not using Office 365 at all.  Is it possible for me to access the site using the iOS version of the OneDrive for Business app?  When I specify my username, password and SharePoint 2013 site
    URL i get a login error with username/password incorrect.
    Does the iOS app only support Office 365 implementations of SharePoint?
    Thanks

  • SharePoint Designer 2013 cannot access workflows in Office 365 Site

    I have an Office 365 SharePoint site with a number of workflows that I have created on my machine with SPD 2013. After a number of weeks I was unable to access the workflows from my machine through SPD (while still being able to access pages, site assets
    etc.), getting the following error: (Am restricted from submitting images)
    "Server-side activities have been updated. You need to restart SharePoint Designer to use the updated version of activities"
    Restarting SPD doesn't help, after clicking OK I get the "SharePoint Designer cannot display the item" screen, prompting me to refresh.
    When I do refresh, I get the following:
    "Windows Workflow Foundation, part of .Net Framework 3.0, must be installed to use this feature"
    This is happening on my machine, Windows 7 64 Bit, SPD 2013 64 Bit, but on a colleague's machine, Win 7 64 Bit, SPD 2013 64 Bit I can access the workflows.
    I get the same error if I try to create a new Workflow on my machine but I can create it on my colleague's machine.
    I downloaded SPD 2013 on a 32 bit laptop I have access to, in which I can create a workflow. One existing workflow can be accessed, updated etc. with no issue, one opens to a prompt to "Insert a stage" and one tells me that it "Failed to load
    the workflow definition for the workflow", then the "SharePoint Designer cannot display the item" screen. All of these workflows can be accessed from my colleague's machine.
    Here are the actions that I have taken to date on my own machine:
    Cleared the caches multiple times
    Checked for updates
    Installed .Net Framework 4.5
    Re-installed .Net Framework 4.0 (which contains 3.0)
    Uninstalled and re-installed SPD 2013
    Due to issues with a workflow on the site I am in contact with MS Support who are aware of this issue, they sent me a link to a hot fix that was already installed but they have no concrete idea of what might be going on.
    I was convinced that it was an issue on my machine, but I don't know what the issues that I have seen on the 32 bit SPD on the new laptop mean.
    I have been searching the internet for a fix with no success, I would appreciate any help.
    Thanks
    Mick

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that SharePoint Designer 2013 cannot access workflows in Office 365 Site.
    There was an issue recently when a service release was implemented that incremented the version number in the HTML header on some SharePoint online sites to '16' when SPD was expecting '15'.
    I suggest to install internet explore 10 and install a patch for IE10. Then test with "open with windows explore" then opened in SPD from sharepoint online.
    In addition, I suggest that in SPD go to Account > Switch Account and type in the credentials of the site you are trying to open (it defaults to your Microsoft Login).
    If the issue persists, to troubleshoot this issue, you can uninstall all versions of SharePoint Designer on workstation, clear cache and then reinstalling the latest SharePoint Designer. For the detailed information, you can refer to the

  • Found error while Deploying office 365 through SCCM.

    Hello Experts,
    We are currently working to deploy office 365 through SCCM but on client system it failed to installed.
    found error in AppEnforce.log file.
    Please help to resolved the error.

    ConfigMgr is doing it's job and trying to install the application. However the installation times out after an hour.
    See:
    Waiting for process 5820 to finish.
    That would suggest to me that there is something wrong with your installation parameters. The installation is probably not fully silent and is awaiting user input (that you cannot see).
    Narcoticoo's advice is good. Try to install the app silently manually. Until you can do this successfully ConfigMgr will not be able to deploy it.
