Office 365 ECT to Azure Cannot connect to the LobSystem (External System)

I've tried to set up External Content Types to an Azure SQL database but when I access my page I get an error.
I basically followed http://www.pointbeyond.com/2012/12/31/surfacing-data-from-sql-azure-in-sharepoint-2013-online-office-365
Can you help me work out what i've not done, I don't know where to configure Azure firewall as this message suggests. The error is below:
Cannot connect to the LobSystem (External System). Reason: 'Cannot open server 'uf7prto4sj' requested by the login. Client with IP address '157.55.225.241' is not allowed to access the server. To enable access, use the Windows Azure Management
Portal or run sp_set_firewall_rule on the master database to create a firewall rule for this IP address or address range. It may take up to five minutes for this change to take effect. Login failed for user '*REMOVED*'. This session has been assigned a tracing
ID of '9389a67c-dc78-4134-9167-545ec963be3a'. Provide this tracing ID to customer support when you need assistance.'

Hi,
It depends, if it's a static IP address for your machine, it should be OK for this one IP address; if it is a dynamic IP address in a range, you can input the IP address range which contains this mentioned IP address
157.55.225.241, or update the changed address to date.

  • Manage Office 365 Licensing via Azure API

    I am at a loss. We have an issue with limited available licenses for Office 365 Pro Plus for users to use on their home/personal machines. As a result we can not add all of our users, nor does anyone want to manage this manually.
    The solution I proposed is to write a web portal where users can go and selectively apply a license for their account. On the back end, the page would execute an API of some kind to Azure and assign a license. In return, they can also go to remove the license
    if they so desire (It will never happen but give the option).
    What is the best way of doing this? The Azure management portal is extremely confusing and I can not figure out where to begin... I created an API that I can't even figure out how to use and I'm not even sure that I will be able to accomplish this using
    an API. Any suggestions?
    I am using Visual Studio 2013 and at this point purely using a bare bones console app just to see if I can get connected and execute a test API.
    Thanks!
    Tony

    Hi,
    Your second sentence is unclear "We have an issue with limited available licenses for Office 365 Pro Plus for users to use on their home/personal machines".
    Users can install Office 365 ProPlus on up to five different computers with a single Office 365 license. For example, a user can have Office 365 ProPlus installed on a computer in the office, on a laptop to use when traveling, and on a home computer.
    With that in mind, do you really need to create this API?
    Here's some more info on the Pro Plus license:
    To use Office 365 ProPlus, a user must have an Office 365 account and have been assigned a license. If you, as the Office 365 administrator for your organization, remove a user’s license or account, the user’s installations of Office 365 ProPlus go into
    reduced functionality mode.
    Even though users don’t need to be connected to the Internet all the time to use Office 365 ProPlus, users must connect to the Internet at least once every 30 days. This is so that the status of their Office 365 subscriptions can be checked. If users don’t
    connect within 30 days, Office 365 ProPlus goes into reduced functionality mode. After users connect to the Internet and their subscription status is verified, all the features of Office 365 ProPlus are available again.

  • Recently Added Office 365 Domain to Azure

    We just signed up with Azure and I'm in the process of building it out. We also have an existing Office 365 subscription which we use primarily for email (Exchange 2013 in Office 365). The trouble is that I'm fairly new to Office 365 and a complete noob
    when it comes to Azure, so everything I'm doing to get these two worlds to talk is self taught (we do not have support).
    In an effort to get a head start, in Azure, I have built two servers to be designated as domain controllers and two servers to be designated as application servers; a total of four virtual servers now exist in Azure.  I installed the respective roles
    on each of the servers.
    This morning I finally managed to understand how to link our existing Office 365 domain to Azure; the Office 365 directory now exists in Azure.  Subsequently, I attempted to promote the two virtual servers to domain controllers in the recently added
    directory to no avail.  When I begin the promotion, I select the option to
    Add a domain controller to an existing domain, enter the domain name (Office 365) and the domain admin creds, and then I'm met with the following error:
    An Active Directory domain controller for the domain "name of domain" could not be contacted
    Basically, when I attempt to add this to server to that domain I'm met with an error that no domain controller exists or if I attempt to promote the server to a domain controller I'm met with the error above.  How do I get around it?  How can I
    successfully add either of the newly provisioned virtual servers to the domain?
    Any help you can offer would be great!

    Marcin is correct.
    For better understanding, imagine Windows Azure Active Directory as an Organizational Unit (OU), in which you can manage user accounts and groups, but no any computer accounts. WA AD is for handling authentications, and because Office 365 (which is a SaaS)
    authenticates with WA AD, and an Azure subscription is also using WA AD object for authentications, you can import WA AD of an Office 365 subscription into Azure.
    On the other hand if you build your own network and infrastructure in Azure, and needs a Domain Controller, you need to install a VM with Active Directory Domain Services role.

  • BPC Excel: The system cannot connect to the server. There might be network

    Hi Guys,
    I get the following error when i try to connect to BPC Excel: The system cannot connect to the server. There might be network or security issue.
    This only happen on clients machines, I have installed the client tools on the server and tested, i can connect to Excel but not on the machine. My MS office version is the same as the one on the server. BPC is ver 5.04
    Has anyone experienced the same problem.
    your help will be greatly appreciated.

    Let me summarize your issue to see if I may help.  If I cannot, then you will need to work with SAP Support on the connection problem.
    - You have a single or multi-server setup?
    - Installed using BPC 5.1 SP3, (or 5.0.502) correct?
    - You can enter the BPC on the server, both via BPC Excel and BPC Admin?
    - When you initiate BPC Admin on your client, so can connect to the Server and perform Admin operations?
    - When you initiate BPC for Excel, and walk through the connection wizard, you cannot connect to the server?
    - When you are in the Connection Wizard, are you using a path or a Server designation?
    - Is the system on a single domain?
    - When you added users to the Admin Security profile, they were selected from a DOMAIN?
    - You have processed security and assigned ALL TASKS currently and processed the MEMBER ACCESS profiles, yes?
    After all of this, have you uninstalled 1 BPC client, cleared the ProgramFiles/BPC folder, and deleted the local stored BPC information?  If you haven't, just for simplification, I would attempt this process.
    You also hae read all the SAP Support Notes regarding using Excel2007 with BPC and the issues you may experience?
    Please let me know and maybe we can help.

  • Cannot connect to the iTunes Store from my home network since I upgraded to ios 6

    I own an iPad 2 and recently upgraded to ios 6. Since then, I cannot connect to the iTunes store from my home network.  I can navigate any other site and access any other application.  I can even reach the iTunes store through My Personal Hotspot and through my office network.
    Has anyone experienced something similar?  My network carrier is Telmex and I know for sure, they block port 25.  Any guess on whether there could be a setting impeding connection?
    Help!!!

    Hi Nickey,
    If you are having difficulty connecting to the iTunes store from your PC there are a number of things you can try to get connected again. Details are available in this article -

  • InitCatalog:Cannot connect to the server

    Hello,
    We have installed BPC 7.0 in 2-server architecture.
    First server is VM - Windows 2003 32 bit, it contains
    - BPC
    - Reporting Services
    - Integration Services
    Second server is physical. Windows 2003 64 bit, it contains
    - SQL Server 2005
    - OLAP Server 2005
    We have installed also a separate client: admin and office tools.
    During opening Excel 2007 (provider Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0 is installed on first server) we got error:
    InitCatalog:Cannot connect to the server 'XXXXX'. The server is either not started or too busy.
    After clicking the OK button in the error message, I was further notified that Account dimension member cannot be downloaded and so on.
    It looks like similar problem as in this thread: InitCatalog:Cannot connect to the server 'XXXXX'.
    But it wasn;t solved.
    We got also the same error during processing cubes/dimensions from BPC Administrator.
    Can anybody help us solving this problem?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello Stevej13,
    The first thing I would do is follow step six in this document to set a static IP: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c02817031&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&product=4023246&tmp...
    When it askes for DNS information, enter in Google's DNS. Preferred DNS = 8.8.8.8 Alt DNS = 8.8.4.4
    If that does not help, if you could provide me with the following information it would help me out.  First, who is your ISP( Internet Service Provider, i.e. Comcast, AT&T, Verizon, ect.)?  Second, who is the maker of your router?  Lastly, what is the model number and firmware version of your router?

  • EWS, Office 365, An internal server error occurred. The operation failed.

    I am using EWS 2.0 to access a users calendar in Office 365. I use AutoDiscover to find the ExchagneService, then bind to the calendar via CalendarFolder.Bind and at the next statement folder.FindAppointments I get the error
    An internal server error occurred. The operation failed.
    I know that the credentials used to access the user are correct - have tested in the webmail and it works just fine.
    If I use my own credentials (after having assigned rights to the user in question) my program does not fail. Only apparent difference is the administrator role.
    Below I have listed the central parts of the code:
    First the AutoDiscover (which work)
    service = new ExchangeService(ExchangeVersion.Exchange2010_SP1,TimeZoneInfo.Local ); // service is a global variable
    service.Credentials = new NetworkCredential(ConfigClass.CalendarReaderName, ConfigClass.CalendarReaderPassword);
    service.AutodiscoverUrl(cal, RedirectionUrlValidationCallback);
    Then the part where I want to get the appointments
    CalendarView view = new CalendarView(_firstdate, _lastdate);
    Mailbox mailbox = new Mailbox(cal); // cal is the e-mail address of the user
    FolderId id = new FolderId(WellKnownFolderName.Calendar, mailbox);
    CalendarFolder folder = CalendarFolder.Bind(service, id);
    FindItemsResults<Appointment> findResults = folder.FindAppointments(view); // This is where the error occurs
    Anybody know what this error actually means and how to solve the situation. I want to run the program using a service account rather than my personal credentials.

    the error came back - but the trace revealed the error:
            <m:ResponseMessages>
              <m:FindItemResponseMessage ResponseClass="Error">
                <m:MessageText>An internal server error occurred. The operation failed.</m:MessageText>
                <m:ResponseCode>ErrorInternalServerError</m:ResponseCode>
                <m:DescriptiveLinkKey>0</m:DescriptiveLinkKey>
                <m:MessageXml>
                  <t:Value Name="InnerErrorMessageText">Too many concurrent connections opened.</t:Value>
                  <t:Value Name="InnerErrorResponseCode">ErrorTooManyObjectsOpened</t:Value>
                  <t:Value Name="InnerErrorDescriptiveLinkKey">0</t:Value>

            </m:ResponseMessages>
          </m:FindItemResponse>
        </s:Body>
      </s:Envelope>
    </Trace>
    The account is used for other purposes as well - looking into other calendars. And I have seen this limitation before and read that it is a timing issue.
    I guess I need to use another account ...

    Hi,
    From the 10.1.2 BI Beans Install Guide it says:
    OracleBI Beans supports data stored in Oracle9i Enterprise Edition or Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition. However, only particular releases and patchsets are supported:
    * Oracle9i Release 2 Enterprise Edition, as follows:
    o 9.2.0.6 for all platforms.
    o 9.2.0.5 with the latest OLAP patch for Windows-only.
    * Oracle Database 10g Release 1 Enterprise Edition with the latest OLAP patch.
    From the error message it would appear that the Database is not one of the above.
    Thanks,
    Lisa

    Hi,
    Please note that we have follwing versions of DB up and running:-
    1)Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.1.0.2.0 - Production
    With the Partitioning, OLAP and Data Mining options
    2)Oracle9i Enterprise Edition Release 9.2.0.5.0 - Production
    With the Partitioning and Real Application Clusters options
    JServer Release 9.2.0.5.0 - Production
    Pls let us know the solution to resolve this problem ASAP.
    Thanks.

    You are not using a supported version of the database. BI Beans/OLAP only support the following database versions:
    10g - 10.1.0.3 with additional OLAP patch
    9i - 9205 with additional OLAP patch
    9i - 9206
    I would suggest that you have not applied all the required database patches to your instance.
    Hope this helps

  • Sharepoint list dataheet view error "Cannot connect to the server at this time. You can continue working with this list, but some data may not be available"

    I have a List which is having around 14000 items in it.while opening that list in datasheet view it is giving error .
    Below is a summary of the issue:
    After selecting datasheet view beow error occurs:
        "Cannot connect to the server at this time.  You can continue working with this list, but some data may not be available."
        "Unable to retrieve all data."
        The item counts displays say 100 out of 14000 items.
    Exporting List to excel is giving only 2000 records out of 14000 records.
    Other Observations   -
    This is happening to only one list on the site .There are other lists in the site whose no. of records is equal to 8000 to 9000.They are working absolutely fine without any error.
    Also, If I am saving this list as a template and creating another list with it ,then it is working absolutely fine with 14000 records,so the issue does not seem to be related with no. of records as the template list is working fine.
    I have checked the Alternate access mapping setting ,its fine.
    It should not be related to lookup,datefield or any other column as the list created from it template is working fine with all these columns.
    I checked below links also ,but doesn't seem to work in my case.

    I have spent two days to resolve this issue. Microsoft has released two KBs with reference to this issue...but are not appearing in search results at the top.
    I am sharing my finding.
    1. First install the
    KB2552989 (Hopefully you might have already installed it. The KB detetcts it and informs the user.)
    2. Then update registry by adding new key for data fetch timeout as mentioned inKB2553007
    These two steps resolved the issue in our environment. Hope it might help others as well.
