  • Interaction between Azure VM with ADDS and Office 365 AzureAD users

    Good Morning,
    I am a bit confused and after a ton of reading I still don't have a good answer. I am building out an Azure environment to migrate users to Azure/O365. No devices will remain on the local network.
    I am looking to setup a few DC's on Azure but before I start adding users and whatnot to AD I would like to know how AD User objects on a server running ADDS in Azure work with account that have been setup in Office 365. I have already liked my onmicrosoft
    domain users to my Azure default directory and can move users between them.
    What I fail to understand is if users have AD accounts but also have AD accounts for the onmicrosoft domain would they be able to communicate. We plan on using O365 Exchange but those users would be onmicrosoft users and not users I would setup in AD on
    the Azure VM.
    Is there a whitepaper or an explanation of how I this works exactly. I hope I am clear enough.

    Antony

  • Unable to download attachments via EAS on Note 3.

    Hi folks.
    I'm having a problem with attachments on an Exchange ActiveSync account. It seems that if the account is configured to NOT download attachments automatically when connected to WiFi (or you are not connected to WiFi, but only cellular data), then it is impossible to download the attachment manually.
    The attachments show up in the email, but clicking "Preview" or "Download" both result in the same error: "Unable to communicate with server".
    I am a software developer, and VERY familiar with the EAS protocol. I've sniffed the traffic between the server and device both during the failed, manual download attempt and an automatically triggered download attempt. The response from the server to the client is IDENTICAL. The request is slightly different (for those playing along, the RANGE value is omitted for the automatic request, but present for the explicit request). The response is propertly formatted and correct data in both cases, but the device does not like something about the explicit request. This is regardless of attachment size or content. This works flawlessly on other devices, including stock AOSP 4.3 rom on a Galaxy Nexus device. I'm thinking this is a bug in Samsung's Email apk?
    Does anybody have any ideas, any other contacts?

        Hi mrubinsk,
    Downloading attachments is very important! I understand that you are very familiar with EAS and have already done some troubleshooting in an effort to resolve the issue. I have in the past have similar issues and learned that sometimes the most basic step is the one that ultimately resolve my concerns. Have you deleted and readd your EAS account on your phone yet? If not, please give it a try. Remove account, power cycle your device and set up your account again and test. Keep us posted.

  • Office 365 OWA, mail via Safari is marked as spam

    Hi,
    HTML email send via the web based Outlook Web App (Office 365) in Safari (7.0.6) is marked as spam and so for bounced by external mailservers. Plain text email via Safari or email send via Firefox or Chrome (HTML or plain text) isn't marked as spam.
    Anyone facing the same issue?

    I have the same issue.
    Mail works perfectly.. NO SPAM issues, EXCEPT when using Safari.
    This is as much an APPLE issue as a Microsoft issue. All other browsers work perfectly.  So, what is Apple doing in Safari
    that causes it to be considered Spam?
    Because of this I'm going to be forced to start using Firefox, which Apple probably doesn't want its users to do.

  • Is it possible to switch from Office 365 online user management to Active Directory after Exchange online migration?

    If we utilize the Cutover method to migrate from on-premise Exchange (2007) to Office 365, which to my understanding will hand over user management/authentication to Office 365 online during the process, is possible to later switch from Office 365 user management
    to Active Directory (synced to a future local domain, or even possibly via AD federation single sign-on)? If so, how difficult is this process and is there any documentation available?
    Asking this because the organization  I'm working for plans to upgrade (re-do actually) its entire infrastructure. There will be a completely brand new domain/AD set up that's totally unrelated to the old one. At the same time, we also plan to migrate
    all emails (previously hosted locally on Exchange 2007) to Office 365 and get rid of local exchange. Now because we will set up new domain, we do not want to carry over the older AD to the cloud, hence we will not use the "Staged Migration".
    So the plan is to to use "Cutover" migration first, which means all authentications will become Office 365 managed. That's fine for now. But later, after we set up our new domain and AD controller etc, we'd like to have Exchange Online switch back
    to syncing with our new on-premise AD. We'd also like to consider the AD Federation Services if it's not too complicated to set up.
    Your advice on this would be greatly appreciated!

    In principle, you cannot sync back from the cloud AD to the on-prem, yet. But you can take advantage of the soft-matching mechanism once you have the new AD in place:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2641663
    Be careful though, as the moment you turn on Dirsync, all the matching users in the cloud will have their attributes overwritten. A very good idea is to do an 'export' of the cloud AD first, using the WAAD module for PowerShell and the Get-MsolUser cmdlets,
    which you can then use to compare or import data in the new on-prem AD. Some links:

  • Office 365 - Access User Profile -Error: Attempted to perform an unauthorized operation

    Hi,
    I am using a console application to read the user profile data in office 365.
    I am getting the error as "Attempted to perform an unauthorized operation", while running the console.
    I have used the below code:
    static void Main(string[] args)
    Uri test_targetSite = new Uri(test_siteurl);
    string decryptedPwd = Decryptdata(password);
    foreach (char c in decryptedPwd)
    securePassword.AppendChar(c);
    SharePointOnlineCredentials onlineCredentials = new SharePointOnlineCredentials(login, securePassword);
    //getting UserProfile Service
    TestAdminUserProfileService.UserProfileService admin_ups = new TestAdminUserProfileService.UserProfileService();
    admin_ups.UseDefaultCredentials = false;
    string authCookieValue = onlineCredentials.GetAuthenticationCookie(test_targetSite);
    admin_ups.CookieContainer = new CookieContainer();
    admin_ups.CookieContainer.Add(new Cookie("FedAuth", authCookieValue.TrimStart("SPOIDCRL=".ToCharArray()), String.Empty, test_targetSite.Authority));
    // Gets the first profile
    GetUserProfileByIndexResult pResults = admin_ups.GetUserProfileByIndex(-1);
    int totalUsers = (int)admin_ups.GetUserProfileCount();
    int counter = 0;
    //Loop through all UserProfiles and Add to custom Group
    while (pResults.UserProfile != null)
    try
    // Get the next profile
    pResults = admin_ups.GetUserProfileByIndex(Convert.ToInt32(pResults.NextValue));
    How to fix this for Office 365?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    Thanks for the reply.
    1. How to check, which is the App pool account for office 365 portal?
    2. Which account has access to user-profile service application? if yes, how to verify the same?
    3. How to access Manage service applications in office365? Like in SharePoint 2010 or 2013
    Go to SharePoint Central Admin > Application Management > Manage Service Application
    Thanks

  • Outlook 2013 not fulling syncing with Office 365 OWA

    Briefly - is there any reason why emails that are accessible via the browser in Outlook are not being fetched by Outlook 2013 on the desktop? This using Office 365 Small Business Premium, client machine is running Win7.
    TIA
    Mike

    Hi Mike,
    Please confirm the items which are not synced to Outlook are listed in specific folder or all folders. Please click Send/Receive All Folders in Outlook to check whether all items can be synced completed in Outlook.
    We can follow Eric's suggestion to disable Outlook cached mode to check whether the issue persists. If the issue doesn't happen in Outlook Online mode but only in Cached mode, we can
    create a new Outlook profile
    to have a try.

  • Email address missing from account info in Office 365 exchange console, unable to access inbox

    Hi
    we have successfully migrated our on premise Exchange environment to Office 365. We came from a 3 domain environment and we are having some issues accessing accounts. I have tried to add the smtp:[email protected] address using ADSI Edit but after
    DirecSync, I'm not able to locate this address on the account. is there a different way to add email address to Office 365 accounts?

    I would recommend asking them in Office 365  forum: http://community.office365.com/en-us/f/default.aspx

  • OWA Users cannot access .snp attachments

    One of my user complains none of the user can access or download .SNP (MS Access Snapshot File) attachments from OWA 2013. When a user clicks on the attachment they get the warning message "Access to this Attachment is blocked. Recipients may not be
    able to view the attachment, either."
    But the same file is easily accessible from Outlook.
    I have tried Set-OwaMailboxPolicy -Identity OwaMailboxPolicy-Default -AllowedFileTypes ".snp" and restarted the IIS Service but no luck!
    Do I need to have Office Web App Server to be able to download these .SNP files? Is there any way around to allow such files in OWA out of the box?

    Hi,
    I recommend you should check the owavirtualdirectory also with the following command:
    Get-OwaVirtualDirectory -Identity "ServerName\owa (Default Web Site)" |fl name,server,*FileTypes
    If no .snp type, you should to add it.
    Get-OwaVirtualDirectory -Identity "ServerName\owa (Default Web Site)" -AllowedFileTypes  @{add = ".SNP"}
    The following article for your reference:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb123515.aspx
    AllowedFileTypes
    The
    AllowedFileTypes parameter   specifies the extensions of file types that the user can save locally and   view from a web browser. If the same extensions are in multiple settings   lists, the most secure setting overrides the less secure
    settings.
    To enter multiple values and overwrite   any existing entries, use the following syntax:
    <value1>,<value2>.... If the values contain spaces or otherwise require   quotation marks, you need to
    use the following syntax: "<value1>","<value2>"....
    To add or remove one or more   values without affecting any existing entries, use the following syntax:
    @{Add="<value1>","<value2>"...;   Remove="<value1>","<value2
    Thanks.

  • VB Script required to automatically send form in MS Word as attachment using Office 365/OWA

    Hi,
    I have created a Form in Word 2010 to be used by our company and have managed to find a VB script to send this form as an attachment through MS Outlook.  However some of our users are using OWA.  Need a VB script to integrate both OWA and Outlook
    2010 to send my form as an attachment. If this is not possible, I can always separate my form to detect OWA only.
    Help please

    It shouldn't matter whether recipients are using Outlook or OWA when you send a message.

  • Some Users unable to download my podcast. Help!

    I announced my new podcast show, Glasscaster, to my industry yesterday. Many people report happy download results, but a few have had their share of problems.
    Here's my link: http://web.mac.com/marciedavis/iWeb/Site/Podcast/Podcast.html
    One of the people in question is on a PC and has DSL. There are 3 complaints so far...each has a different browser, some have Explorer... The page loads it's iWeb template, but then it's full of little blue questionmarks where the file and the playbar etc. would be. Any ideas?

    Your podcast page looks good to me. I don't see any potential pitfalls or showstoppers. Could it be possible that some of your clients don't have QuickTime installed at all? It would probably be best if everyone had the latest QT version installed.

  • Office 365 ProPlus Shared Computer Activation - users are prompted to activate, proxy issue?

    Hi all,
    We're currently testing the roll-out of Office 365 ProPlus with shared computer activation but are having problems with Office automatically activating (with no user prompts) when using our web proxy.
    I've already added proxy exceptions (in our PAC file) for the 'Office 365 portal and identity' and 'Office 365 ProPlus' URLs (not Content Delivery Network) from
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh373144.aspx but test licensed Office 365 E4 users still get the 'Activate Office' prompt and even if they enter in their credentials are ultimately
    told 'There is a problem with your account. Please try again later'.
    Testing this on a computer not directed through the web proxy works fine and users get no pop-ups whatsoever and Office is licensed.
    The problem is I can check the traffic passing through the proxy in real-time and no traffic destined for any of the URLs on the TechNet page actually goes out over the proxy, indeed there is no Microsoft orientated traffic at all. It's as if simply
    specifying a proxy on IE's connection settings breaks shared computer activation.
    I'm in the process of a support case with our web proxy company itself but if there's anyone out there who can shed any light on this it'd be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

    Last: My workaround that's about 6 months old:I
    went through the same issue with Websense Cloud Web Security Gateway in my RDSH environment.
    Off and on, and seemingly without provocation, users would be prompted for credentials and these credentials would sometimes be accepted and other times they could just cancel out and continue working.
    I chalked this up to Microsoft's continual tuning and scaling of their cloud environment (we use Office 365).  I suspect Websense was not able to add hosts fast enough and the authentication issue just popped up from time to time.
    My solution? A workaround...set the list of recommended MS servers on "bypass" so that any traffic destined to these servers Websense would essentially permit without interference.
    Best of luck to you.

  • Office 2010 / Office 365 Calender sync

    Hi everyone !
    I have a bit of a interesting problem I have been google-ing left  right and center but everwhere I look I cant find a solution
    PROBLEM : The "OUTLOOK 2010/2013" calender does not sync(Sync they dont show the same information) with the " OFFICE 365 CALENDER "
    Extra information : We have over a hundred users everyone computer is doing this , We are running on Imap , E-mail's work perfectly ,
    But if you create a event(meeting) in the Office 365 calender(OWA via browser) only the office 365 calender(OWA via browser) can see it , not the Outlook 2010/2013
    And if you create a event(meeting) in the Outlook 2010/2013 only outlook 2010/2013 can see the event not the office 365(Owa via the browser)
    But here come's the Curve ball
    If I create a event(meeting) In office 365 (OWA) And Invite attendees , Both or more user's can see it in Outlook2010/2013 and office 365(OWA)
    But if you you do it Via outlook ,the user that created it wont be able to see it in the office365(OWA) but the rest would be since they received a mail about it
    So Since we don't want to run a POP setup.
     Question : How can I get the office 365 calender(OWA) to sync with Outlook 2010/2013 if you created the event(meeting) in Outlook and vice versa?
    Any help would be greatly appreciated !

    Hi,
    You are running on IMAP, this is why the calendars don't sync. If the accounts are setup as POP or IMAP, calendars and contacts don't sync. For accounts setup as Exchange, Exchange ActiveSync, calendars and contacts sync between the server and
    client.
    Anyway, may I know why on IMAP?
    "But if you create a event(meeting) in the Office 365 calender(OWA via browser) only the office 365 calender(OWA via browser) can see it , not the Outlook 2010/2013
    And if you create a event(meeting) in the Outlook 2010/2013 only outlook 2010/2013 can see the event not the office 365(Owa via the browser)"
    - This is just as I explained at the beginning, calendar items don't sync due to the IMAP setup.
    "But if you you do it Via outlook ,the user that created it wont be able to see it in the office365(OWA) but the rest would be since they received a mail about it"
    - The organizer doesn't see it on OWA because it shouldn't as I said. The intendees see it on OWA since the request has been sent to the server, no matter it's sent from the Outlook client or OWA, would be processed by the server thus be displayed on users'
    calendars.
    To change the IMAP setup is the only way as I can suggest on my side.
