Office 365 password expiration notification per email?

As far as I know, users of Office 365 are informed about upcoming password expiration via popup when being online. Our users do not stay online the whole time but randomly connect to and are complaining now, that they are not being notified
about their passwords to expire soon in time.
My question is: is there a way to generate an email within Office 365 informing a user that his/her password is about to expire?
In this case I would recommend them to create a forwarding rule pointing to the main email address.
Thanks a lot
Eduard

Hi Eduard,
As far as I know, this is currently not a feature in Office 365 yet, only a pop-up message will show when the password is about to expire whenever they sign in.
Anyway, this is the forum to discuss questions and feedback for Microsoft Office client. There is not so much about Office 365 admin/hosted aspect here. I would suggest you to post in the dedicated forum -

  • Z10 and Q10 frequently asking for Office 365 password

I have an AT&T Z10, and a client has a Verizon Z10 and 2 Verizon Q10s.  Both of us use Office 365 as our email service.  With the lack of BB10 support in BBCS (Blackberry Cloud Service for Office 365) I was forced to set up all these devices on ActiveSync.  For the most part this is working OK.  However each user has either been prompted for the Office 365 password multiple times in a day, or they don't notice the prompt and the ActiveSync account is marked as invalid on the Accounts list in setup.
I have looked everywhere within the Office 365 administration console and can find nothing related to asking for the password frequently.  I did find settings to control if the device has a password, but nothing related to the device prompting for the Exchange password.
I am only annoyed by it, but my client is getting quite frustrated and is questioning whether they will bother upgrading their other 20 Blackberry devices to BB10s, or look at other devices.  Either some direction to solve this ActiveSync problem, or a likely date for BBCS to be BES10 would be helpful.

My user with a Q10 has had this same issue with our Office 365 account. Seems to work fine for a few days then randomly stops getting new email. Go in and reenter his Office 365 password and all is well again... for a few days when it seems to lose it again.
We have about 15 iPhone's of various flavor and 3 Android HTC One's with no issues on O365.

  • Email notifications per email account, and bundled together? (former Android user)

    Hello there,
I made the switch from an old HTC Android to the new iPhone 5S two weeks ago and the one thing I cannot configure to my liking is email notifications in the notification center. I have multiple email accounts that recieve a moderate volume of emails on most of my accounts per day and need a quick way to view the activity of a given email account, not the app. I currently use two email apps as follows:
    Mail - iOS7 native app
    x2 Exchange email accounts
    x1 Windows Live email account
    x1 Yahoo email account
    Gmail App
    x2 Gmail email accounts
I have configured the notification center to notify me for all but the yahoo email account. The problem I have is that the notificaiton center only shows X number of recent emails (selected in settings) the APP has recieved, and does not say which email account it is, or how many extra emails on top of X that I selected were recieved. My phone is on silent 24/7 and the only vibrates for phone calls and text messages. I will periodically check the notification center throughout the day and use it as a summary of what has happend since the last time I checked.
On my Android, each email account would have two lines in the Android Notification center. The first unread email on an account would use those two lines to tell you the subject line, time recieved, email account, the total number of unread emails, and the app. Once that account gets two or more emails, it simplifies to say the number of new messages, time the last one was recieved, the email account, the total number of unread emails, and the app. What is really nice about that setup is that each email account had two lines in the notification center, no matter what, and at a quick glance I can see which email accounts are really acitve and I probably need to check on. If one email account was really active and I wanted to check on it, I could select the single notification for that account and it would take me to the (already updated) inbox where I can quickly browse to see what all the emails are about. At this point it may sound like it is just different and I just need to get used to the iOS7 interface, but let me share an example where iOS7 lets me down, and Android has done well for the last couple years:
During M-F from 8-6, my two exhange accounts and one of my gmail accounts are the only accounts I care about. One exchange account receieves 5-20 emails per hour, and the other exchange account might recieve 1-5 per day. Only a small percentage of those 5-20 emails need a priority response, but the account that gets 1-5 per day are emails that I need to know about and respond to right away. What happens in the iOS7 notification center is that I may not even see a notification for the email account that gets 1-5 emails per day, and if I do, it only tells me the sender, subject line, and some of the body if I allow more than 2 lines - it does not specify which email account it was sent to. I can choose 1, 5, or 10 emails to be displayed for the Mail App in settings, but the 5-20 emails I recieve can bump the 1 important email from the one account out of the notification center.
Is there a way to configure notifications per email account, and bundle all the recieved emails (by saying "# New Messages" or similar) on a given account into 2-4 lines? My ultimate goal here is to not lose a notification on one account due to the high volume of another, but to also keep them concise enough that I don't need to scroll through a massive list of notifications like one giant inbox.
I would appreciate any tips or advice to configure the notification center better for my use case. Thank you!

Yeah.. I have problems with all apps that have notifications.
Forget the Google Gmail example.. I'll use imo, Groupme, and Facebook as examples.
I see the notifications. But when I open the app, it won't show the newest received messages. It will take a few second before the app would refresh.
With my Android experience, all apps would update with the new information in the background. It appears that even though the apps are running in the background in iOS, the actual app appears to be paused until you reopen the app. That's when the app will refresh with the new information.

  • ISE and AD Password Expiration Notification and allow user to change

We are almost ready to go live with ISE for our VPN users.
One last thing that has been asked is, how can we make ISE prompt a user when their AD password is about to expire, and allow them the opportunity to change it at that time?
I know the ASA has the ability if it is authenticating directly against AD, but that functionality goes away with IPN. So what settings are there to prompt users connecting via Anyconnect to the ASA VPN through ISE?
We do not have ISE setup for internal users/systems yet, this is strictly a VPN only setup for now.
    Thanks,
    Dirk

Since we are using radius protocol so password expiration notification will not occur. The user will be prompted when password would expire. With ldap over ssl, user will be notified that "your password will be expired in x number of days" but we can't pick that method as it shoud be ASA integrated directly with AD/LDAP.
Since we have ISE in between acting as a radius server so we have to live with the option where user will not be notified but password can be changed by end-user.
Procedure for Configuring RADIUS Password Management
Requires tha tthe Radius server/ISE  be integrated with an Active Directory MS-AD server.
    1. Enable "password-management" in tunnel-group/Connection Profile.
Note: "password-management password-expire-in-days X" will not work, use just "password-management"
    2. Ensure that MSCHAPv1/MSCHAPv2 is enabled on the RADIUS/ISE server.

  • Error in Dashboard "Your Office 365 password is not the same as your Windows password."

I have 4 users using Windows Server 2012 and Office 365 for email.  All is going well,  but I am now getting the error listed in the title.
When I first set this up, the passwords were the same, and integration worked very well.  After the users changed their passwords on the domain, this error started to pop up.
Question:  Is there a specific way the users have to change the password to have this sync continue?  If they change the password by Ctrl+Alt+Del and choose change password, will this keep it in sync with Office 365?
Thank you for time and answers.

    Hi,
àI have 4 users using Windows Server 2012 and Office 365 for email.
Did you mean that had enabled Integrate with Microsoft Office 365 service on the Windows Server 2012 Essentials?
Would you please let me confirm something more?
When changed password and synced to Office 365, there will spend some times. Please check if this error still pop up. Or had disappeared?
Please check if encounter issues when users logon client computer via the new password in the domain environment. Meanwhile, did there any issue occur when users use emails
or sign in office 365 by using the new password?
If any update, please feel free to let me know.
    Best regards,

  • Password expiring notification

Hello everybody. I'm developing a control wich warns an user logging to a web application about when his password (stored in an active directory server) is going to expire. I've found in this forum plenty of information to write this control and it's almost done but I've a doubt yet: is there an A.D. attribute wich says how many days before the password expiration the warning must be sent?
I think no because, as far as I know, this is a kind of domain protection constrain wich is not directly related to Active Directory and I didn't find any examples or documentation about such an attribute but I can't really claim to be an expert in Active Directory architecture or Windows management then I think it's better to ask before setting an application parameter :)
I'm accessing an Active Directory server on a Windows 2003 SP2 computer via an application developed in Java 1.5 under Tomcat 5.5.
Thanks for any help, take care!
    Massimo Campodonico

I'm assuming you've discovered the post titled "JNDI, Active Directory and User Account status (account expired, locked)" available at http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=716240&tstart=0 that describes account & password expiry etc.
I think what you are tring to determine (or mimic) is the password reminder interval. Refer to the Microsoft KB article at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/135403 which describes how teh password reminder interval is determined. With Windows 2000 (and beyond), this is configured by group policy, which ultimately configures the registry setting HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\passwordexpirywarning
    Good luck.

  • Password Expiration Notification

    Hi,
Is there a way to receive email notification when a password is going to expire? Right now, I only know this when I log in to the database with the account that's about to expire.
    Thanks
    Nora

One intuitive approach, (maybe not the best though)
Create a job that runs every day, checks EXPIRY_DATE from DBA_USERS and sends you email if there is password that will expire soon.

    Windows Small Business Server 2011
    Exchange 2010
    Netgear Prosafe VPN fvs318
I have talked to there tech teams and they said it never reaches their queue.  The only thing that both of them have changed is that they switched to hosted Exchange Office 365.  I'm trying to help out my church, so I am in no way knowledgeable
in Exchange.  I have the firewall open to outgoing mail and emails we're going through until about a month ago.  Since both of them are no longer going through, I'm sure there is a setting on my end that is not allowing them.  Can anyone suggest
    where to look?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
To narrow down this issue, please take your time to collect some information:
Does this happen to message sent to an individual, to a domain, or to a network?
Does it happen for messages sent to recipients within your organization, or to recipients at other domains?
What do the SMTP protocol logs show when attempting to send the messages?
    Refer to:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124531(v=exchg.141).aspx
Try to stop and restart the Exchange Transport service to check this problem.
    Thanks.

  • Send email through password expiration scheduled task.

I want to send an email to a user through password expiraion notification scheduled task. But that particular scheduled task not become in active status after i click run now button. How can i send an email to a user whose password due to expired?

Last time I had a requirement for sending out password expiration notifications we implemented it as a custom scheduled task. There might be better or quicker ways to do it but that was what we did.
The code for the custom task is very straightforward so it is most probably quicker to write one of your own rather than trying to figure out what the OOTB task does.
    Good luck

I have registered for "Microsoft Power BI for Office 365 preview!" and received the welcome mail from Microsoft Office 365 <[email protected]>
But their is nowhere mention of any promotional code
Further as per the steps given in the welcome mail I created the unique tenant for Power BI and now provisioning Power BI for office 365. Here as per the snapshot provided in the provisioning document I am not able to see the specific license
i.e "Microsoft Power BI for Office 365" which I have to assign to my tenant. Instead I see the License "Microsoft Office 365 Plan E3". Is this acceptible?
Further i have assigned this license (Microsoft Office 365 Plan E3) and added Power Bi app to the Site Contents
Now when I try to open Power Bi app to open the reports I have uploaded to office 365, I get the following error
    *********Error**************

  • LMI doesn't work with Office 365 and Azure AD credentials

This is my setup: Windows 10 ProOffice 365 userPC is joined to Azure AD So, with the above scenario, you actually login to the computer with your Office 365 credentials, which is an email address and password. Typically with LMI you would login with a local user account or an on premise Windows AD domain account.  But Windows 10 lets you login with your Azure AD (cloud) / Office 365 credentials, which is what we are using.

I not a Telstra employee, but I have a tech background, but not in internet protocols. You may consider ringing. Microsoft possibly ???  who  may ???     be using some access protocol that NBN will not access ???????? There are some extremely highly specialist and qualified  technical IT folk in some specific forums, just for example,  Whirlpool.     who actually are employed in that area of IT. You may want to search if anyone else has experienced this.  The more I think about this, the more I think Microsoft may be your best port of call ???

  • Office 365: some basic questions

    Hi,
I've read somewhere that Office 365 will offer unlimited storage via OneDrive.
If that's true, I'd like to sign up for an paying account.
I had a trial running some time ago for my private domain but didn't continue the trial.
    What I'd like to have:
    -unlimited storage for best price
-use my own domain in my mailaddress/outlook account => then I'd need a business account?
-share documents from onedrive to people who don't have a onedrive
    Please advise.

    Hi Jan,
Here are a few references for your question:
All Office 365 customers will get unlimited OneDrive storage at no additional cost, Microsoft has just announced this:
    https://blog.onedrive.com/office-365-onedrive-unlimited-storage/
You can add a domain that you’re already using for email into Office 365 and use it with email and other services:

Of course, you can share a document to people for unauthenticated access, you can do this by creating a gest link.
By the way, this is the forum to discuss questions and feedback for Microsoft Office client. There is not so much about Office 365 subscription/plan aspects here, I would suggest you to post in the dedicated
