Office 365 Pro Plus - Setup Failed Error - Network Deployment Share Method
Hello,
We recently deployed Office 365 Pro Plus utilizing the network share method. The issue we are experiencing is occuring after uninstalling Office 365. When we try to reinstall 365 on the same PC, the setup states "Setup Failed - A newer version
of Setup is required to install this product"

Things I've done to rectify include:
Re-downloading Office & Redistributing before retry
Re-imaged computer to ensure a fresh build.

Appvisvsubsystems32.dll is a type of DLL file associated with Microsoft Application Virtualization.
This might happen due to invalid or corrupt Appvisvsubsystems32.dll registry entry or another program overwriting the version or uninstalling the Dll file.
Mostly such issues can be rectified by manually registering the Appvisvsubsystems32.dll using the Regsvr32 tool.

Hello, I have Windows Server 2008 R2 and I have installed Office 365 pro plus volume license but I keep receive the error when I launch the product I receive this error "This Copy of Microsoft Office 2013 cannot be used on a computer running
Terminal Services. To use Office 2013 on a Computer running Terminal Services, You must use a Volume License Edition of Office"
Jim GUnlike managed volume-licensed environments, Office Professional Plus for Office 365 cannot use Microsoft Application Virtualization (App-V) or Windows Server 2008 Terminal Services as deployment options. Because Office Professional Plus for Office 365 is
based on the Retail SKU, you cannot install it on a Terminal Server.

I'm planning to deliver Office 365 Pro Plus updates via SCCM where i can control the build versions and use the already available SCCM to do so.
My issue is around the user clicking "Cancel" when they are prompted with the notification window to close down Office apps when trying
to release an updated build version.
This is because when the user selects cancel the application fails with "The exit code
is 17002, the execution status is FailureNonRetry" = FAILED. This message is taken from the execmgr.log.
Ideally I'd like to allow the user to defer the install say 3 times and afterwards deploy it mandatory...like how you could manage WSUS patches.

If you re-run the advertisement set the schedule to something like daily then as expected the user will be re-prompted with the notification window providing they have a office app open at the time of deployment. Ensure the program is set to re-run
on failed attempt.
However this will continue to be re-curring and you'll never know when the user will decide to click close programs to continue the install. So i worked around this by using a program wrapper from AppDeploy which worked a treat. It allows you
to defer programs a specified number of times. Very helpful on the user interaction side of things.

365 cannot install the new build if any Office applications are running.
We do have a attribute (FORCEAPPSHUTDOWN) that can be set in configuration.xml file to force shutting down any applications that block the action, but this will not
make the process your ideal way.
So through Office if you click Cancel the user cancels the update and will not be re-prompted? Surely in the corporate world you would want them to be compliant and not have the user ultimately manage their patch level?
I am already using Forceappshutdown but enabled the display level (in the config.xml) which is how they are prompted to close the app. For sure doing this silently would not be feasible. It would automatically close office regardless. Definite no no.
I will repost in the SCCM forum and see if i have any luck if what you say is true. I can't be the only person with this issue. I need to find some guidance on deferral procedures. -

Though can't get it deployed, I keep getting some errors about checking internet connections ...though I can run the command manually and it'works.

Office 2013 pro plus activation fail on windows 8
hi guys
I have issue about getting Office 2013 pro plus activation fail on windows 8 via KMS server.
When I test using KMS server via nslookup -type=srv _vlmcs._tcp all looks good with corporate KMS server.
Activation fine with windows 7 environment
Any idea

We recommend you download it from the website and extract it again to make sure your source install is complete.
Run setup.exe as administrator then try the install.

Office 365 Pro Plus Install or deployment issue.
Users downloading the software direct from the user portal leaves them stuck on the setting up office when they don’t have office on their systems and does not allow them to download it.
Downloading to the network to deploy gives the error that they may not be connected to the internet which makes no sense at all but I’ve tried it three times all with the same result. IT downloads the actual installer file to

We're preparing to deploy Office 365 Pro Plus with our existing SCCM 2012 infrastructure. Many of our clients currently have Office 2010 or Office 2013 installed on them. What is the default setup behavior for installing Office 365 Pro Plus on these systems?

Office 365 Pro Plus - updates from the internet
Hi All
I've used the Office deployment toolkit to download Office 365 Pro Plus to a local file server, and have now packaged this up within SCCM 2012 for deployment to clients.
In my configuration.xml file i have the following set for updates

I understand that this setting allows for updates, and client will download them from the internet.
Is this correct?
I am concerned that the Office 365 source files i downloaded are a few months old now, so will be out of date and i am relying very much on my deployed clients to be downloading updates as expected. Do i need to do anything else?

That's correct, with Updates element configured as "TRUE", the Click-to-Run update system will check for updates from the CDN server automatically. So with this configuration, you will always be up-to-date:

Deploying with an old build should be no problem here, but why not re-download a newer build with ODT (Office Deployment Tool). That should not take too much time and will definitely reduce the network bandwidth consumption when Office 365 updates itself
from each client after the deployment...

after install office 365 pro plus, i am trying to activate the product using my assigned email id for the activation. every time when i try to activate it will appear below error. i am using our company proxy address for internet connection.
using my email id i am able to access office 365 portal but not able to activate.

Office 365 Pro Plus Security Update User Permissions - Sccm
I plan to deploy Office 365 Pro Plus using Sccm 2012. My configuration setup file has this line Updates Enabled="TRUE" UpdatePath="Share" . My users are not local administrators of their workstations. If I update the office
share with a patch, will my users have permissions to install the update? If not then how will my users get updated?

Yes, with this confirguration, every Office 365 client will automatically check updates from the update location configured during setup - "Share", in your case.
You should make sure that it's a share (like an internal UNC or HTTP path) that every Office 365 client has permission to access.

Excel crashes after sending mail (Office 365 Pro Plus)
Hello All,
A user reported that Excel crashes after sending mail.
Excel is part of Office 365 Pro Plus and is fully update (Feb 2015). Also there is no add-in enabled.
Is there a way to raise a log or fix this issue?.

The scenario is what you had described:
The user goes to File --> Share --> Email --> Send as Attachment. When he click "send
it" and then Excel crashed and got the "Excel has stopped working" error.
User didn't get "Excel has stopped working". User can't modify or close the Excel. So he had
two options:
- Kill the Excel Process
- Close Outlook then Excel can be used.
It seems Outlook is causing this issue (as you said).
When Excel Crashed after sending mail, I noticed that there is no pending request on Outbox.

Office 365 Pro Plus and ODBC issue
Hi,
ODBC connection works with Office 2013 standard but when Office 365 Pro Plus is loaded on the same machine after removing 2013 standard the odbc connection does not work.
Microsoft query does show the database but when we try to connect the message comes up saying microsoft not working. When I did a odbc trace the log showed error fault 1000 in mso.dll
Have tried the threads on 365 and odbc issues but none of these work.
Grateful if could get some assistance on this.

Office 365 Pro Plus vs Office 2013 Pro Plus licensing
I can't find any exact answers on this but I'm wondering if I can run Office 2013 Pro Plus instead of office 365 Pro Plus click to run. The problem is click to run causes all kinds of problems with 3rd party software. It's so random too and doesn't happen
to everyone in my office.
With office 365 this is what happens. We have this 3rd party integration with word that adds a tab to interact with our CRM. When you click a button on this tab word crashes and you loose your document. It will auto recover most of the time but at that point
the 3rd part integration is broken because the document was open outside of the software.
I did an online repair of office 365 but that didn't fix it.
So I have a volume license key for Office 2013 pro plus for my terminal servers and was wondering if I could just use that key on my computers to activate Office 2013 Pro Plus instead of Office 365 and still be compliant with the license agreement.
I have tried installing Office 2013 Pro Plus and activating with the Office 365 login but it converts office 2013 to the Office 365 click to run. It's so infuriating! LOL.

By the volume license key, do you mean a MAK key? Technically it should work fine, but since it will be related to the licence policy, I suggest you contact the local customer service to confirm:

I understand in your scenario if you activate Office 2013 with the Office 365 account it will display Office 365. But does it also display "click to run"? The installation method should change unless you installed Office 2013 via click to run too.
