Office 365 Shared External Contacts - how do I delegate Edit and Update permissions to users

Hello
Office 365 Shared External Contacts - how do I delegate Create/Update/Delete/Edit permissions to users who are not Admins? These Contacts are in the Global Address List. Not Outlook personal Contacts. O365 Small Business Premium

Hi,
To grant users delegate permissions, open Outlook, go to FILE -> Info -> Account Settings -> Delegate Access -> Add -> Search and add the user, click OK -> Edit the permission of the user. We can set different permissions in the dropbox
of Contacts.
There are four permisssions for Contacts:
1. None
2. Reviewer (can read items)
3. Author (can read and create items)
4. Editor (can read, create, and modify items)
Select the permission that you want to grant the user.
We can also modify the permission later in this section.
I hope the information is helpful, if I misunderstood anything, feel free to correct me and provide more detailed description of the question.
Regards,
Melon Chen

Can you merge two user accounts on a macbook? my wife has created a new user on her new macbook air then, inadvertently, created a second one when using the migration tool. 1st a/c has her office 365 install, while 2nd has her itunes database, docs and contacts. What is the best way forward to get everything into the one account? Not sure if the office 365 will allow another installation into the second account, otherwise would just do that and delete the first, if that is possible?

There is no merge but you can move data from one account to another via the Shared folder. Data is copied from Shared. Watch your free space when copying. These are large files.  Do one at a time if you are on a small drive. After making copy, delete from other users before you start next copy.
Office365 installs in the main Applications folder and is available for all users on the computer. Activation is tied to the drive not the User.

  • Office 365 Shared Mailboxes - Auto Reply

We've just migrated from an exchange 2003 to Office 365.
We have several shared mailboxes where previously they had an out of office setup with a generic message on it.  Now that those mailboxes have been turned into'Office 365 Shared Mailboxes' without licenses attatched, i can't seem to work out how to
setup a similar auto reply for each of the mailboxes.
The only thing i can see is to assign a license to each of the mailboxes that we want to have an auto reply and treat them as normal users, but this just seems a waste of money.
    Any Help?

It appears you may have bumped into a limitation of Office 365.
You might try this workaround.  License the mailbox, log in, set the out of office message, log out, and remove the license.  If the out of office message stays, then you have your workaround.  Please post here whether or not that works so
others will benefit from your experience.

  • My MacBook Pro hard drive is almost full and I wish to store my Aperture Library on an external drive, how do I do this and is the use of USB2 suitable or do I need to use a Firewire external hard drive?

My MacBook Pro hard drive is almost full and I wish to store my Aperture Library on an external drive, how do I do this and is the use of USB2 suitable or do I need to use a Firewire external hard drive?

You'll get better performance if you use a Firewire hard drive (especially if you buy a 7200 RPM drive). Firewire's IO speed is significantly faster than USB 2.  USB 2 has a theoretical max speed of 480 Mbps except that it has extremely high over-head.   The fastest speeds you can typically get are about 300 Mbps.   Firewire, on the other hand, has very little overhead.  The fastest speeds you can get are very nearly 800 Mbps.  You will typically be constrained by the maximum read/write speed of the drive, not the speed of the I/O on the Firewire bus.  Now if you had one of those nice shiny new Macs with the Thunderbolt I/O and a Thunderbolt drive (Light Peak) ... I think they alter space and time so that your data arrives before you know you want it.
Also... unless you want to buy a solid state drive (very expensive), try to keep your hard drives from becoming much more than about 60% full if you want great performance.  A nearly "full" hard drive is, on average, only about half as fast as the same hard drive when nearly empty.
USB 2 will work perfectly fine... just not as fast.
Also... it's much safer to move the entire Aperture library than to "relocate masters".  Your images must be managed.  You can Aperture manage them, or you can manage them.  But someone has to manage them.  If you "relocate" them so that they are no longer stored inside the Aperture library then you'll need to work out a system of how you decide to organize things and it's critically important that you don't start moving files around or deleting things without Aperture's knowledge.  If you do, you'll break the links to your masters and start having problems with missing masters.  If you have Aperture manage the library then you don't need to worry about any of that stuff.... it's safer.
Do make backups (use the Aperture Vault or use some other backup program, but make sure you back up your work if you care about it.)  There are only two kinds of hard drives in the world:  (1) those that have failed and (2) those that are going to fail.  There are no exceptions to this rule.  Hard drives are cheap.  Backup software is built into Aperture and into your Mac.

I am using a iPhone 4 on iOS 7.0.4.  I shared a contact with my friend using message and she got my other messages between my other friends, and she also found all her contacts are deleted as well.  Can someone help? what happened to my phone? is it safe for me to message others?

You prob hit Delete All at the top  instead of the trash can at the bottom which will do only the selected msg.
Sorry, unless the entire converstaion is on a backup you can't retrieve it.

  • How do I transfer files and documents from one user account to another?

How do I transfer documents and files from one user account to another?

You haven't understood me. Follow these steps:
    1. Log in the user where are the files you want to transfer, and open a Finder window.
    2. In Finder, select Go menu (on the menu bar) > Go to Folder, and type /Users/Shared. Now you're on Shared folder, so leave that window.
    3. Open a new Finder window without closing the old one, go to the folder with the files you want to transfer, and copy them to Shared folder.
    4. After copying the files to Shared folder, go to  > Log Out, and log in the other user.
    5. Repeat the step 2, and you will get access to the transferred files. Now, you can open them directly from this folder, or you can copy them to a folder on your user folder

  • How do I share photos and music between different user accounts on the same macbook

How do I share photos and music between different user accounts on the same Macbook? i.e. I want all to be able to access family photos when logged into their respective accounts. Same goes for the iTunes library. Hope this is possible...
    Thanks!

To give other users read-only access to your iTunes library, use the Sharing features of iTunes. Sharing works over the local network as well as on the same computer. See the built-in help for details.
To give others selective access to your iPhoto library, you have the option of using iCloud Photo Sharing, if the privacy implications don't bother you. The images will be stored temporarily on Apple servers.
If you want to give full read/write access to more than one user, see the support articles linked below.
iTunes: How to share music between different accounts on a single computer
iPhoto: Sharing libraries among multiple users
There is a way to share the library without moving it to a secondary volume. If you really need to do that, ask for instructions.

    Hi,
First upload the file into an internal table. If you are using a file that is on application server. Use open dataset and close dataset.
    Then :
    Loop at it.
*insert or modify as per your requirement.
    Endloop.

Also, is it possible to return them in a manageable format like xml or csv?

    hi Michael,
Thanks for the reply, I found some filter suggestions from another website as follows:
    Get-MailboxPermission "[email protected]"  | where { ($_.AccessRights -eq “FullAccess”) -and ($_.IsInherited -eq $false) -and -not ($_.User -like “NT AUTHORITY\SELF”) }  | ft User -AutoSize
Get-RecipientPermission "[email protected]" | Where { ($_.AccessRights -eq “SendAs”) -and -not ($_.Trustee -like “NT AUTHORITY\SELF”) -and ($_.IsInherited -eq $false)} | ft Trustee -AutoSize
They work for the moment, but since they are not Office 365 official I don't know whether it will break if I have more users.
Also is it possible to get output in CSV or XML format instead of text.  If not possible, can you provide me how to parse the text format?
    thanks and regards,

  • Blackberry Office 365 email calender & contacts sync

    Hey Guys
I'm looking to hook my Blackberry Bold up with Office 365.
From what I've learnt so far out of the box I can sync email using POP3 or IMAP4.
However, I would like to sync my calendar and contacts too. I understand I need BlackBerry® Enterprise Cloud Services to do this.
I can see that I can turn that service on in my Office 365 account.
However, do I need to purcahse BlackBerry® Enterprise Cloud Services from Blackberry as well?
What else will I need to get it going do you guys think?
Any help/advice  would be greatly appreciated.

  • Office 365 Shared Mailbox in Exchange Admin

I am creating shared mailboxes in my Office 365 account and I want all the users on my domain to have access to all of the mailboxes. Is there any way I can set this up automatically, instead of manually adding each user to each shared mailbox and
then having to remember to add all new users into each shared mailbox?
Also is there anyway I can only allow them to have View-Only permissions on these mailboxes?
    Thanks

    Hi Lauren,
the cmdlet add-mailboxpermission is avaliable for Exchange Online, too.
    http://technet.microsoft.com/de-de/library/bb124097(v=exchg.150).aspx
So you can receive a list for all your users mailboxes, and then you run add-mailboxpermission to all of them.
    $mymailboxlist = get-mailbox -resultsize unlimited
    $mymailboxlist | foreach-object {
                     $resourceMailbox = $_
                     $mymailboxlist | foreach-object {
                             $permittedMailboxAccess = $_
add-mailboxpermission -identity $resourceMailbox -user $permittedMailboxAccess -accessRights FullAccess -InheritanceType All
In that example script you may ignore warning messages that a user already had access to her own mailbox.
You may add logic to the code to avoid that :)
If you do not know how to connect to Exchange online (required to run that code) please see
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj984289(v=exchg.150).aspx
