Office app on iPad

I search for an office app on iPad.
This app have to sync with dropbox.
It should be also possible to edit word and excel files WITHOUT changing the format.
In Excel I want to use all the normal formulas. It should open the formula which are already in there.
I want to work like in office only on the iPad =)
What do you think, is this possible?

If QuickOfffice and Documents To Go won't meet your needs, then I don't think you're going to find any app that will - they are about as robust as any iPad Office app could be at the moment.
You could try using some kind of remote server or remote control of a computer running Office. For the latter, apps like Remote Desktop let you operate a computer from the iPad - so you could open the Excel document that way, but you'd have to be running it on a computer and you'd have to deal with the fact the the interface is meant for a mouse, so some fine-tuned details would be hard on a touch screen.
Another option - recently several companies have released apps to let you run Office on their remote servers. Check out OnLive Desktop or CloudOn. Haven't used them myself, but it might solve your problem.

All of the "Office" document editing applications on the iPad have limitations.  Best try them out to see if they meet your needs.

  • How can I install or use Microsoft Office on my iPad 4?

How can I install or use Microsoft Office on my iPad 4?

You cannot. Microsoft has not made a version of Office for iOS. There are however a number of apps that are compatible with Office documents. Apple makes iOS versions of their own iWork apps (Pages, Keynote, Numbers) that are available free if you purchase a new iOS device and that can be purchased separately for older devices. There are also 3rd party combined suites that cost less than the separate Apple apps. Ones often recommended include Documents 2 Go,  Quickoffice and Office2 HD.
If you can accept needing a network connection whenever you want to use the apps and have an Office 365 subscription, Microsoft has just released their Office Mobile app, though it has significant limitations. Or a server-based solution such as CloudOn might be an option for you.

  • Does new Office apps work with stylus/pen?

    Hi,
Does anyone know if the new Office excel, word and onenote for mac work with a pen/stylus on an ipad mini?
    Angelica

To my knowledge none of Microsoft's apps accept input via handwriting nor drawing. If you want to use a stylus, there are other apps available in which you can write and/or draw, including Penultimate, Notability, and others. You can find suggestions here:
    http://appadvice.com/appguides/show/handwriting-apps-for-ipad
Perhaps one of those would work for you.

  • Is it best to buy new ms office software for iPad or can I use my ms office already installed on my MacBook Pro ?

Can I use my current ms office on my MacBook Pro on my iPad or must I purchase new ms office software for iPad?

    Hi,
There's an app called Jump Desktop (Remote Desktop) in the app store. It's the fourth highest 'paid' app and the third highest 'grossing' app in the business category. (Go to the app store, then click on categories, then business. Then over on the right under top grossing and top paid you can click on Jump and read the reviews.)
You can work from your ipad with documents, spreadsheets, etc., make changes in them on your ipad and they will be reflected on your computer (mac or pc.) And you don't need a cellular ipad to make the connection. All you need to do is have your MBP on at home with a wireless network and be in an area where you have wireless access to connect your ipad (or iphone) with your MBP at home.
Jump Desktop (Remote Desktop) RDP/VNC will let you access your mac and all of your mac programs like MS Word, Excel, etc., as they are on your ipad. There's a free trial at jumpdesktop.com. If you like it you can then come back to the App store and buy it.  Please note that there are many free apps that will help but you might have to spend extra time adapting your work to an ios app as many (most?) do not translate from mac to ipad well.
Please read the reviews in the app store (I suggest you start with the most recent ones) and read reviews by pro tech reviewers.
    Hope this helps.

  • Microsoft office apps

Why microsoft office apps are fully activated in iphone not in ipad.????
    I deplore this act

I don't see why you can't express a comment here.  I have seen before how some people are simply gratuitously rude to others in this community.  If you have an issue with a comment express it respectfully.
The forum is 'Using iPad>Discussions'- to use the iPad we use apps.  I cannot see any harm in sharing experiences about the apps we use or would like to use.
I earlier commented on the MS OFFICE WORD APP but my comments have disappeared without any explanation to me as to why.  If you are going to delete something then explain why.
I was simply sharing my experience of USING IPAD with that app.  The app is rubbish.  In its 'free' version it is just a viewer.  I paid the £79.99 to get the full version but did not know that even this full version has no built-in print function and cannot open rtf documents.  If I had seen a post to that effect in this community I would have been forewarned.
I am not using the MS Word app and am sticking with the apps I used before MS launched their app.

  • URL schemes for Microsoft Office suite for ipad

    Hello,
I am trying to implement inter-app communication with an app I am creating.  I would like to be able to tap a button in my app, and have an xls document I have put on my web server open in the IOS Excel app.  To do this, I know I need to make use of URL schemes.  I can get the button to open the Excel app itself by using ms-excel://, but I cannot get it to open the server document within the app.
    I tried the following:
ms-excel://HTMLResources/file.xls (referencing it in the resources folder)
ms-excel://http://www.yoursite.com/files/file.xls (referencing it directly via url)
Both of these options simply open Excel, but not the document.
I even tried putting it in a web overlay using html snippets as referenced here: http://blogs.adobe.com/jlockman/2013/04/05/launching-external-apps-from-a-dps-folio/
    No luck.
Does anyone have any ideas, or happen to be familiar with the custom URL schemes for Office for ipad?
I know that the office suite for ipad is relatively new, so I am wondering if anyone out there is familiar with the custom URL schemes for Office for ipad. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Allison
One other note: I have tried this same thing with PDF Expert and it works: (the app makes use of the URL scheme PDFE)
    So,
    PDFEhttp://yoursite.com/files/file.pdf
will open file.pdf in PDF Expert.

You could try creating a new user account on the computer, logging out of the current and into the new one, and checking the behavior then. If that doesn't help, I think you'll have to settle for using NeoOffice or possibly GoogleDocs until you can reinstall Office.

  • Is it possible to install Mac Office on an iPad?

Is it possible to install Mac Office on an iPad?

The only office programs you can install are the ones in the app store. there's the iWorks suite, but also Documents to Go (which I use) and plenty of other office programs.
I'd suggest that you read the reviews and see which ones look good to you. Personally? I don't touch any app that doesn't have at least 4 stars. Let 'the masses' tell you if it works well or if it's description is just hype.

Is it similar to operate as Microsoft Office Word 2011 for MAC?
Yes, of course that is why I recommend them as office-compatible apps for iOS.  That is exactly what they are designed for - to allow you to work with your MS Office documents on your iOS device.
I'm not sure of the current price, but if you search the app store, they are very easy to find - Docs2Go and QuickOffice have been amongst the top ranked MS Office-type apps for several years now.  Both also include a means to move files from your computer to your iOS device (QuickOffice uses an embeded file server over wifi, and Docs2Go has a free companion sync app for your computer).

  • Will I get the features of Microsoft Office on my iPad 3

Will I get the features of Microsoft Office on my iPad 3?

There is no Microsoft Office for the iPad as Microsoft haven't made an app version of it, so no you won't - but there are apps that support office documents.  The options include Apple's Pages app for Word documents, Numbers for Excel spreadsheets and Keynote for Powerpoint. And from third-parties apps such as Documents To Go ('premium' version) and QuickOffice Pro HD.

  • My rue la la app for ipad suddenly dosent work so I deleted it now when I try to reinstall it the app store says that it not available in the us. It is still on my Iphone and working properly. What is this all about?

My rue la la app for ipad stopped working. I deleted the app and tried to reinstall it,  it is no longer available in the app store and when I research it on safari and find it when i try to install it says that it is not available in the us store. What is that all about?

My app did the exact same thing. It is still unavailable on the App Store and when Rue La La's site directs you to download their app, the "not available in the U.S. message appears. This happened to me last night. The app wasn't working, I deleted it and was just going to reinstall but was unable to find the app. I figured it was some glitch but I have tried multiple times this afternoon to no avail.

  • No MS Office apps after Security Update 2007-009 1.1 (10.4.11 Universal)

On launch all MS Office apps do a "optimizing font menu performance..." at which point they start displaying error messages that "The font [e.g. Adobe Caslon Pro Bold Italic] is corrupt and should be removed. OK". You get an error message font by font for pretty much all the fonts on the Mac.
I haven't taken the time to let it go through the entire list of fonts to see what happens, as it's quicker to launch Word, etc. on a PC and get back to work.

    Hi Andrew,
Office will return all kinds of error messages for fonts that aren't really damaged when cache files are corrupt.
Close all running applications. Remove the following files. The tilde (~) indicates your home account.
    ~/Library/Caches/com.microsoft.browserfont.cache
    ~/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/Office Font Cache (11)
Next, go to the /Library/Caches/ folder and delete the subfolder:
    com.apple.ATS
Always immediately restart your Mac after removing cache files.
