Is there a ribbon feature available on the Mac side for converting Office files like Word-to-PDF?

Hi pomonav ,
PDFMaker is not available for Mac OS. However, you can still create PDFs by using the File > Print command. In the Print dialog box, choose Save As Adobe PDF from the PDF menu.

i want to convert about 500 doc files to pdf and have tried to set printer to "Adobe PDF" printer with using batch "printing all" to convert my doc files, message box always asked me saving directory and tmp file for each doc converting, i just want it can process all files and no question, is there any way to do it? thanks

If so, you've a Microsoft "exotic", as it were, which is not, as far as I can determine, among the file formats support by Acrobat's conversion process.

What ought to provide a PDF is a File > Print using the Adobe Printer from within the viewer feature in MS Access or with the View App for those without MS Access.

Please let me know the exact workflow you are following.
Does it occur with all files?
Are you trying to convert from within Reader or from Browser.
If from Reader then make sure you are signed in within Reader
Also try updating Reader to the latest v11.0.09 and check.

Whenever I select Word Microsoft Setup Assistant appears, asks for feedback, then after selecting okay (both on saying yes or no to feedback) goes on to a registration page. When I click on this it says I've already registered so I just click okay, and then move on to a update page. After this, if I click on Word, the process repeats itself.
As I said, I don't have the disk to reinstall, and can't find the Office Settings to delete as many pages have suggested I should try. Safe Boot restarting also hasn't worked... Really stuck and need Word very soon for work.
If you can help, that would be great, and feel free to ask any questions about the situation as I'm not an expert here.

First, export your contact from iCloud.com and save them on your computer in a safe spot some where (like you desktop). Use this to help you do this: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH3606
Next, on both of your devices, go to Settings > iCloud and turn on contacts and select Merge. Then turn off contacts and select 'Delete form my [device]' when prompted.
Now go back to iCloud.com and select a contact (yes they will all be messed up again) and select Command+A on a Mac or Control+A on a PC to select all of the contacts. Tap the delete key on your keyboard (or right click /control click a contact and select delete).
You iPhone, iPad and iCloud.com should not be empty for contacts.
Go back to Settings > iCloud on both devices and turn on contacts again (you should not see merge this time).
Next, go back to iCloud.com and import your contacts (those exported .vcards). You can either drag and drop them into the empty contacts list in your web browser, or you can use the gear icon to import.
You cleaned up contacts should import correctly into iCloud.com and sync to both of your devices.

Hi Vinay.
Would these files be editable and if so, where would they reside? If you want people to be able to edit the files, you need to consider where the files are located. If you link directly to a file in RoboHelp, a local copy is copied into your project as a baggage file. If a user then clicks on the link, the local copy is opened and any edits can not be saved back to the WebHelp's output location. However if you were to create an image (like the ones you used above) and added a hyperlink to the file's location - i.e. on a network drive outside the project, this would enable users to edit and save changes to the original file location. Hope this helps.

I have a macbook and it is a dual boot system, I would like to be able to see the mac side of the system on a larger monitor. I can hook to a hdmi cable and see the pc side, but not the mac side, any suggestions?

I have a macbook that I bought second hand. The mac has a dual boot system with bootcamp on one side and snow leopard on the other. I would like to be able to hook to a larger hdmi monitor so that in both systems I could see better since on the leopard side the computer has PS4. I have purchased the dvi to HDMI accessory and purchased the HDMI to DVI cable, and can see fine on the bootcamp side, but nothing on the leopard side. Could somebody help me with configuring things so that it will see both side?
Also on a minor note, I need to purchase a new battery for this item and don't know which one to purchase. Any help would be greatly appreciated, especially with the display/monitor issue.

When you try to use the Mac side on your external monitor do you get a blank screen or do you see the aurora background?
It would help to know which one of the 9 different models of MacBook you have. To see which model you have go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info. When System Profiler comes up check the Model Identifier and post it back here.

OR you can utilize our CreatePDF www.createPDF.acrobat.com online service. It cannot be accomplished with our free Acrobat reader.

I'm afraid I'll need a little clarification here. Are you wanting to save a PDF in Word format? Or convert a file in Word to PDF?
For the former, you can use the ExportPDF online service (or Acrobat). For the latter, you can use Acrobat. (Although later versions of Word have their own PDF generator.)
If you'd like to give Acrobat a try, you're more than welcome. You can download a free trial from the link I reference above.

Indesign/Acrobat PDF - embedded link file(word, excel, pdf)

In the microsoft word, we can embedd, the pdf, word or excel files as link, so that when you click the embedded file (for eg. if you click the pdf icon of embedded file in word, the pdf file will open, as same as the word files and excel files will open) . There is will no seperate link files will be there. (so from a word doc embedded with pdf files and excel files will be opened from the word itself)
Is there any option to do like this in Indesign or Pdf, where we can embedd the Link files inside the indesign, without linking the files from the hard dirve or server.
Any idea about this? You people understand what i am trying to say?

Acrobat Pro has an Attachements navigation panel that you can add (embed) files that will open in their native application when clicked to open.
InDesign can do something similar... you can embed files via the Links panel... you can also edit original (but you might need to unembed it first.
Not on a computer with InDesign right now, I will check tommorrow.

Word to pdf problems - pdf splits 1 doc into 3

hi there. i'm using a mac and when i save a single word doc to pdf using the print options i end up with 3 pdf documents. what can i do? it seems to be that a large table on one page (which is set to landscape) splits the file up. i.e. it saves all that went before the landscape page as one doc, the lansdscape page as another and then all thats after this page as a third doc.

This is an old problem that has plagued PDF's created from Word Documents since PDF has existed.
If you have any Page or Section Breaks, and also if any of the section breaks contain switches in Page Orientation its a given that it will happen.
MS has got so tired at Adobe dragging its feet fixing this problem that they added a PDF converter that does cure Page break problems and make cure section break problems except when page is switched from Portrait to Landscape orientation. It debuted in Office 2008. But has since been incorporated in Office 2004 through updates. They installed a direct word to PDF Converter. Simply, go to SAVE AS... from the file menu. Scroll down list of conversion type. until you see PDF. Choose PDF and it "should" create your document just fine.
This is one case where Adobe nor Microsoft want to admit to a bug. Its kind of like the old chex cereal Commercial. "I don't like, you eat it. NO I don't like it You eat it. Instead of fixing the problem they've let it go on close to 20 years now. Adobe swears up and down that if they could just could figure out Word and excel Page and Orientation Code for Section and page Breaks.
Microsoft has come up with there own Converter for PDF In Office 2008 you go to Save As... and from scroll list choose PDF. Its also been introduced in 2004 in some updates. Even it may not solve the issue if you have section breaks with Page orientation changes (from Portrait to Landscape)
If you can't or won't update do the Following:
open first part of PDF
go to Documents Menu
Select insert Page scroll to end of document then choose insert at end of page. choose the desired PDF into insert.
Repeat the above with the thrid part.
This is easy, with just your 3 page document. But gets old fast, if you have a 500 page Document with lots of page or section breaks.
