Office for MAC 2011 outlook Calender not syncing

I have a mac book pro laptop user and that installed Office 2011 for Mac. I've setup outlook to use a exchange account and for whatever reason. i can't seem to get his calender to sync on the mac version.
Any ideas or help on this would be appreciated.
Thanks

Hi,
Please try to configure this Exchange account in Outlook 2010/2013 for Windows machine to check whether the issue persists. Also check if everything is OK in OWA.
If the issue doesn't happen in Windows machine and OWA, it indicates there is no issue with this problematic user's mailbox and Calendar in Exchange server. If the issue only happens in Outlook 2011 for Mac, I suggest we can ask a question in Outlook
for Mac forum for more professional suggestions:

  • Launching MS Office for Mac 2011: "Font is not Installed" errors

Message Microsoft (MSOffice).app wants to use the font "xxx". This font is not installed. Allow Microsoft(whatever).app to use this font? show in finder, don't allow, allow. happens with all Office apps, runs through entire font library.
about 3 months ago this started - not sure what I did to kick it off, but now whenever I try to use a Microsoft Office for Mac 2011 app it runs through the series of fonts and asks me to do something. I can go through one at a time and select 'don't ask me again' and 'allow' or 'don't allow' but I'd rather figure out (and solve) the problem. Any ideas?

  • With my Lion OS, if I upgrade to Office for Mac 2011, it will not work?

LIke the title says, with Lion OS, even if I upgrade to Office for Mac 2011, I will still be unable to use word docs. The reason it bothers me so much is that I need both my mac.com email and the ability to send Wrod docs to my publisher. I feel stumped.

even if I upgrade to Office for Mac 2011
That implies you haven't upgraded yet. Yes?
I will still be unable to use word docs.
Why would you presume that? You'll be able to open and create any Word documents.

  • Problems with Office for Mac 2011 Outlook

So I've BYOD with my work, but having difficulty in accessing my Outlook email on the work's server. I keep getting the following pop-up for the mail stating that Outlook has redirected to the server (name of server here) to get new settings for your account (name of email account here). Do you want to allow this server to configure your settings? I havce the option of to Deny or Allow, both of which have been tried. The pop-up still pops-up no matter.
What our PC-oriented tech department has discovered is that it is being routed to an incorrect address. They have no idea where that address resides and we need to figure out how to insert the correct address into the correct place within the software.
    Can anyone help me?
    Thanks.

there seems to be something wrong with the Office for Mac software getting things right on that platform on that machine
Then that would be a question for Microsoft' and their forums.  It's up to Microsoft to maintain compatibility with the OS, not vice versa.
when Lion came out, there were others who had some issues wtih Outlook
Lots of sofware has issues if not updated to be compatible with new operating systems.
I was hoping someone who got things right might see this and response.
This has nothing to do with Outlook..it's running as it should.  The problem is that the autodiscover feature on your company's exchange server is not configured properly and is telling Outlook to point to that incorrect address.  It's up to them to fix the autodiscover settings on the exchange server.

Two things I can suggest, first verify your ISP is not the issue, next check in the Microsoft Office for Mac forums located at:

If no answers are found re-install Office for Mac and attempt to update again.

  • I was going to purchase Office for Mac 2011, including Outlook.  However, I am hearing many problems with this software including the inability to sync Outlook with iPhone and iPad

I currently sync my iPhone and iPad with Outlook on my Windows Desktop, but want to switch and still do this on my new Mac running Lion.  However what I am reading about the nightmares of syncing with Outlook in Office for Mac 2011 is making me think twice about going down this road.  What an awful situation of purchasing a Mac and being potentially stumped by 'Office for Mac 2011'.
I want to continue using Microsoft Office including Outlook for my business applications - but on the Mac.  I like Keynote for presentations, however I also have to create presentations in PowerPoint for some business situations.  So, although I don't ideally want to put Windows onto my Mac, would it be more efficient and less hassle to use Parallels 7, Windows 7 and Office 2010, rather than endure the issues associated with OFM 2011?
If I decide to use Parallels 7 and Windows 7 am I then into using software to protect against virus' and malware?
I wouldn't be asking this question if Office for Mac 2011 (including Outlook) wasn't a problem - sadly from what I'm reading, it is.
    Thank you in anticipation.

I just resolved my Outlook 2010 + iPhone Calendar sync issue today :  if you have multiple email accounts set up in Outlook (like I do), then you'll find that each account has it's own Calendar (a rather pointless feature IMO).  However you probably only use one Calendar like most people, and what has happened is that the mail account which is set as default for Data Files is not the one you are using.  Try this:
Outlook 2010 -->  Account Settings -->  click "Data Files" tab -->  select as default whichever acct. is associted with the Calendar you use.

From your description of the issue I suspect that it is Outlook that is incorrectly setup.

  • UNABLE TO SYNC. MY NEW iPHONE WITH MY MAC OS 10.5 OFFICE FOR MAC 2011

I can not sync. my Microsoft Office for Mac 2011 (calendars, contacts, etc.) with my new iphone4s.   Any suggestions?

@Kally24, you don't state what iPhone model or iOS you are using but for iOS 5 you need the following System
Apple ID (required for some features)
    Internet access
Syncing with iTunes on a Mac or PC requires:
Mac: OS X v10.5.8 or later
PC: Windows 7; Windows Vista; or Windows XP Home or Professional with Service Pack 3 or later
iTunes 10.5 or later (free download from www.itunes.com/download)

  • HT6114 After the latest OS X update (10.9.2) I cannot open Outlook (Office for MAC 2011). Outlook flashes briefly then nothing happens. How can I get Outlook to open?

After the latest OS X update (10.9.2) I cannot open Outlook (Office for MAC 2011).  Outlook flashes briefly but does not open.  How can I get Outlook to open?

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
    Step 1
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
Enter the name of the crashed application or process in the Filter text field. Select the messages from the time of the last crash, if any. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
    Step 2
In the Console window, look under User Diagnostic Reports (not "Diagnostic and Usage Messages") for crash reports related to the crashed process. The report name starts with the name of the process, and ends with ".crash". Select the most recent report and post the entire contents — again, the text, not a screenshot. In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.) Please don’t post other kinds of diagnostic report — they're very long and not helpful.

  • HT203300 Microsoft Office for Mac 2011 no longer syncs contacts and calendars after upgrading to Yosemite

Microsoft Office for Mac 2011 no longer syncs contacts and calendars through iTunes after upgrading to Yosemite. It worked fine until I made the mistake of upgrading. Help!?

Please describe the problem in as much relevant detail as possible. The "etrecheck" fad hasn't made that step any less necessary. The usual results of posting etrecheck output on this site without a full description of the problem are very poor.
The many "failed" or "killed" warnings that etrecheck sometimes spews are not a reason to reinstall the OS.
The better your description of the problem, the better the chance of a solution.
For example, if the computer is slow, which specific actions are slow? Is it slow all the time, or only sometimes? What other changes did you make, if any, just before it became slow? Have you seen any alerts or error messages? Have you done anything to try to fix it? Most importantly, do you have a current backup of all data? If the answer to the last question is "no," back up now. Ask if you need guidance. Do nothing else until you have a backup.

  • Office for mac 2011 not working correctly on new Macbook Pro- Help

I have a MacBook Pro from September and had One to One transfer all files/programs (including 2008 Office).  I then purchased the Office for Mac 2011 program and they installed it (I guess they did not remove the older program).  It has never worked correctly and I have tried to contact Microsoft to no avail.
None of the documents open with Fonts intact (Word and Excel open up blank though the graphic elements show up.  I have to Select All and choose a font to make it show up.
Powerpoint is barely functional (none of the layouts actually show up when I select them, the sidebar of slides does not update as I type or try to change themese, etc.  And then when I type, the program freezes and then shuts down.
I have uninstalled 2008 and 2011 and then re-installed 2011 but the same issues occur.  Someone on the microsoft community told me to remove my duplicate fonts, I ddi that and the same issues still occur. My brother has the same laptop and Office for Mac 2011 and no issues.
Can someone help me basically try to start fresh- should I uninstall again? (I waas told that installing/uninstalling too many times can further the problem).
    Help!
    Thanks,
    Bernice

Since yesterday all my usual .xls files will not open (Office for Mac 2011). CAN open .xlxs files. Default 'open with' is Microsoft Excel.app. No software updates done yesterday or the day before (or maybe a Silverlight or an Acrobat one by accident?). Have repaired disc permissions. HHD name is still same as it always was. What next? Thanks
PS I'm not a great techie so assume I don't know what you're talking about!

You may need to rebuild permissions on your user account. To do this, boot to your Recovery partition (holding down the Command and R keys while booting) and open Terminal from the Utilities menu. In Terminal, type:  ‘resetpassword’ (without the ’s), hit return, and select the admin user. You are not going to reset your password. Click on the icon for your Macs hard drive at the top. From the drop down below it select the user account which is having issues. At the bottom of the window, you'll see an area labeled Restore Home Directory Permissions and ACLs. Click the reset button there. The process takes a few minutes. When complete, restart.
