Office jet 8000 ink levels

I recently installed new cartridges, ran the printerhead cleaning from HP Toolbox and now my printer says I am low on ink.  Ive printed maybe 5-10 pages, is this possible?

Choose the type of duplex - you probably have Short-edge binding enabled.  Change it to Long-edge binding.

  • Office jet 6310 ink cartridge replacement

I own an inkjet 6310 all in one printer and i needed to replace my ink cartridges.  i currently have a black 337 and a color 343 in the printer.  the replacement cartridges per hp is now black 95 and color 98.  when i intall the new ones, i get an error message that the 95/98 cartridges are not the correct cartridge.  i can't find 337/343 anywhere.  i even bought another set of 95/98 to see if it was a cartridge problem and it didn't work.  Any ideas?
I bought the printer about 3-4 years ago.

Did you buy the printer in one country and then move to another?  If so you will need to Contact HP to request a "Regionalization Reset". There should not be any charge for this, it is covered as part of the cartridge warranty. You will need to have access to your computer and printer while on the line with HP. You will also need to have a set of cartridges for the new region, once the reset is complete cartridges from the original region will no longer work.  HP's web page on the subject is here.

    Hi,
The XL cartridges are physically same size with the normal cartridges, only THE volumes of ink inside are not the same. Normally the volume of ink inside a XLcartridge is more than double the volume of ink inside a normal cartridge.
Hope this helps. Note: they must be physcally same size otherwise they won't fit.

  • Office Jet 7500A Wide Fomat 910a - Checking Low Ink Levels

I used to be able to select 'Devices and Printers', select my printer and then I would be given a few choices including Checking ink levels.  I have recently tried to do this, but the option no longer seems to be there.

  • Hp 8500 Office Jet Pro never warned ink was low, how to change this?

We have 2 of these units and prefer to only have the hp printers.  Got this printer setup, it seems verbose in asking to register, please register, you must register, you cant print until you register.  ok fine lets regsiter then!  thats ok youre already registered.
the next day: WARNING! You must take action! your HP Printer has an alert you must read! click HERE to read the alert!  okay okay whats the alert?  Your printer is not registered, would you like to register to get valuable gift offers and get an email from hp about new and exciting things you can print?  next day WARNING! You must take action, the printer software could be totally worthless, all drivers are erased or will fail, click here now before its too late!  click.  you havent checked for updates to your hp driver software, want to check now?  ok click.  please wait....  your drivers are up to date.  click here to close this message.
Im NOT KIDDING or being sarcastic, and I say all of this for a reason.  today when trying to print, I mean while it was in the process of printing a page, the page stopped and it said OUT OF INK.  looking closer it was the black cartridge that was TOTALLY EMPTY.  The printer is used at an office where printed documents are very important.  While printing documents for a meeting with a client, this hp 8500 stopped and said the ink was not low, it was OUT of ink and printing cannot take place, do not pass GO, do not collect $200, come back when you're sober.  It uses only the HP ink cartridges, fortunately some other ones were on hand to install and finish printing.  this could have been a printing disaster.
With all the other alerts it gave to register over and over, and then the messages saying check for updates, each time the entire message was carefully read, nothing about ink levels, everyone who uses an inkjet for office printing where its important knows the cartridges get used up and have to be replaced.  but why wouldnt this warn about low ink when it asks everything else?   Is there a basic way to set the printer driver in windows to give an alert when the ink starts to run low??

    Hi harleyfire
I understand you would like to be able to have the ink alerts automatically and the registration keeps prompting you all the time.
For the registration that keeps coming up you can correct this by doing the following:
On the Windows taskbar, click the Windows icon.
Right-click Computer , and then click Manage . The Computer Management window opens.
In the left pane, click the arrow next to Task Scheduler , and then click Task Scheduler Library .
Under Name , point to any of the following tasks to select them, click Delete in the Actions pane, and then click Yes in the Task Scheduler dialog box.
Any Webreg task (Example: Webreg 20031218075500)
ExtendedService Plan - After triggered, repeat every 30 minutes indefinitely
HPCeeScheduleForryan - After triggered, repeat every 6 hrs for 3000 hrs (30.00:00:00)
InternetServiceOffers - After triggered, repeat every 30 minutes indefinitely
Registration - After triggered, repeat every 30 minutes indefinitely
    ServicePlan - Multiple triggers defined
    Close the Computer Management window.
For the Officejet 8500 a910 you can change the settings for the ink alerts through the software. Double click the Officejet 8500 icon on the desktop and it opens the HP Printer Assistant. Then click on icon for estimated ink, then click on the tab called Advanced Settings and click Show Alerts options. Show me ink alerts right away.
If you have the older model Officejet 8500 a909 you would have to uninstall and reinstall and should prompt you for the ink alerts.
    Hope this helps.

I ran all the diagnostic tests including cleaning the cartridges, cartridge alignment, shut off the printer unplugged it, restarted, shut down computer retarted. All the other colors work except for the black cartridge. I checked the vent on cartridge and it is they way it should be. How can I print with Black Ink? very upset!!!! Have got to get something printed ASAP

I've got the same with a new black ink cartridge. The display keeps alerting that you have to renew the ink. Tha's oke but the printer does not print black/White.
Do i have to replace the collor ink also at the same time?
Does it mean that if you replace black and not the color that it's NOT possible to print b/w?

  • Can I use AirPrint on my ipad2 with an office jet pro 8000 wireless?

I am currently using hp Eprint home and biz but can't print from pages
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

    Hi Unkljoey,
Are you referring to web pages inside the HP Home & Biz app, or are you referring to the actual app Pages?
Currently the Office Jet Pro 8000 Wireless does not support AirPrint or ePrint. The only way to print from the internet or selected saved files is to use the HP Home & Biz app. Here is a list of ePrint and AirPrint compatible printers.
In order to print web pages with the app it is required that you register the app itself with your eprincenter.com account. You can do this by selecting ePrint in the top right corner on the app, and then choose register with ePrint.

  • Office Jet 8600 Pro gives repeated message of depleted ink after replacement with new ones

My OfficeJet 8600 Pro (n911a?) gives a repeated message of depleted ink levels (Cyan and Yellow) even after I have replaced them with genuine HP 951 ink cartridges. I have checked firmware and software updates and it appears that everything is up to date. Any other thoughts?

    Given:
HP OfficeJet 7410xi All-in-One connected to 2 desktops (Visa and Win8.1 - 64-bit) via usb network hub (i.Connect).  Able to print from both computers.  Vista machine has HP Solution Center installed (able to import pictures from camera SD card, scan documents to PDF, etc).
Q1:  Are print drivers and sw for 2 different HP printers (HP Office Jet 8625 and HP OfficeJet 7410xi All-in-One) compatible on the same computer?
What is the installation procedure for the SW and driver for HP Office Jet 8625 and connect via Wireless to Visa and Win8.1 - 64-bit desktop such that the 7410xi All-in-One current  setup not impacted.
Objective:  Ability to select the desired printer for printing,Reason:  the 7410 HP Solution Center has additional functions (scan to Pdf, import from camera SD card, etc) than the 8625 so need both.
Q2:  Does the HP Office Jet 8625 have similar HP Solution Center ... please provide link to the HP Solution Center SW for the the 8625.
Q3:  Where is the user guide manual for the HP Office Jet 8625?  The user guide manual refers to 8610, 8620, 8630.  Is  8620 same as HP Office Jet 8625; what's the difference?
Q4: Where is the text installation for the HP Office Jet 8625?  The only installation guide is a poster -- no words on the poster.  Please provide text based setup instructions  starting from unpacking out of the box.
Concern with users comments regarding the HP8625:  http://reviews.costco.com/2070/100116415/united-stationers-hp-officejet-pro-8625-e-all-in-one-printe...

Q9:  "... Windows 8.1 will not print via wireless to this printer  ... Download the latest drivers from the HP website for the 8620 series - not from the supplied CD. The printer works out of the box with the "old" version of windows perfectly..."  Please provide a solution if this user's solution may cause other compatibility issues?

    Hello @xandux,
I would like to assist you today with the answers to the questions that you have regarding the HP Officejet Pro 8625 e-All-in-One Printer.
Q1: The print drivers for the HP Officejet Pro 8625 e-All-in-One Printer and HP Officejet 7410xi All-in-One Printer are compatible on the same computer.
For the Officejet Pro 8625 you would first run the Wireless Setup Wizard on the front panel of the printer to connect it to the network.
    How to Configure Wireless:
On the printer touch screen, touch the Right Arrow () to display the second navigation screen.
Touch the Setup icon (). The Setup Menu screen displays.
Touch Network, touch Wireless Setup Wizard, and then touch Continue.
Wait while the printer searches for routers that are within range of the printer. The Select Network Name menu displays.
Scroll down the list of network names until you find the name of your network.
Touch the name of your network, and then touch OK.
If prompted, enter the WEP or WPA key. This is case sensitive.
The printer will now connect to the network.
Once your printer is successfully connected to the network than you may run the installation of your printer.
The driver package for both Windows Vista and Windows 8.1 is the same. Should you want the latest drivers for the HP Officejet 8625 on both computers please click here to download the drivers. You will need to open that link on both the Vista and the 8 Computers. Once the website opens select the Download button on the top left. Once the download is complete the installation window will pop open. The onscreen prompts will walk you through the quick and easy install. You simply select that you are connecting a Wireless printer when prompted, the installer will search and find your printer and complete the install. You simply sit back and hit 'next' a few times. For additional install assistance and documentation please click here.
I can assure you that your HP Officejet 7410xi All-in-One Printer will not be affected by the installation of the HP Officejet Pro 8625 e-All-in-One Printer as they use completely different drivers.
Q2: The HP Officejet Pro 8625 e-All-in-One Printer uses the HP Printer Assistant Software rather than the HP Solutions Center Software. The Printer Assistant Software installs with the printer. Therefore, there is no separate link available for this. The Printer Assistant will load an icon on your computer that looks like this:
Once you click on that icon you will see a similar screen to this:
Q3: The User Guide for your HP Officejet Pro 8625 e-All-in-One Printer can be found here. It is for the Officejet Pro 8610/8620/and 8630 products as they are all within the same series.
The Officejet Pro 8625 is identical to the Officejet 8620. For specific specifications for just the Officejet Pro 8620 (8625) series printer please click here.
There are slight differences between the 8610, 8620, and 8630 products.
The Officejet Pro 8610:  Print speeds are slightly slow (19 ppm in black and 14.5 ppm in colour), letter size flatbed glass, no automatic duplex copies/scans. The specifications for this printer can be found here.
The Officejet Pro 8620 and Officejet Pro 8630: both models are identical with their specifications. The only difference is that the Officejet Pro 8630 comes with 2 paper trays. The specifications for the Officejet Pro 8630 can be found here.
Q4: For detailed setup and install instructions please refer to the two documents below.
For out-of-box hardware setup instructions please click here.
For installation instructions for Windows Vista and Windows 8.1 please click here.
Q5: There is no switch that should have to be altered when printing envelopes. You simply load the envelope within the paper tray and select Print, just like any other printer. For instructions on how to properly load envelopes please click here. The only issue I have seen is that people aren't 'telling' the program on the computer that the printer is printing envelopes. This may cause a 'paper mismatch' error as your machine 'thinks' it's supposed to pull letter size paper and doesn't detect that as loaded in the tray. If there was a hardware defect with the switch when the HP Officejet 8625 first came out, we are not seeing those issues now so the switch issue must have been corrected.
Q6: Because of the Printhead design within these printers, there must be ink inside the printer to print. Therefore, if you run out of yellow ink, you must replace the yellow ink to continue using your printer. Once a cartridge is empty the printer goes into a 'depleted cartridge' error state. When this happens you are not able to use any features of the printer. The best course of action would be to keep an eye on your ink levels. When you start getting prompts that your cartridge is low, have a cartridge on hand for when the ink finally does run out. What I would recommend is if you're not planning on printing a lot in colour from your computer set the 'Black Ink Only' feature under the driver to ON. If you do not have this feature enabled, when you print from your computer certain print jobs are sent to your printer as 'image' files. If a document is sent to the printer as an 'image' file the printer will use colour ink to enrich the black on the document. This causes the colour ink to run out much faster than anticipated. If you turn Black Ink Only ON only black will be used for black documents. If you want to print a colour document you simply disable the Black Ink Only feature for that specific print job.
For more information regarding why this occurs and how to set Black Ink Only please click here.
Q7: Your machine is designed to go into sleep mode after about 10-15 minutes. This is not a design flaw. Ideally, once your printer enters sleep mode, if you need to print something you simply send the print command and the printer will wake up and respond for you. Occasionally sleep mode has issues. One issue for instance is when you have a networked printer. Sometimes the routers don't send the print command to the sleeping printer properly and that causes the printer not to 'wake up'. This can be corrected with altering settings on your router. The other issue may lie with a programming issue within the printer. The best course of action to avoid sleep mode issues would be to ensure that your printer is running the latest Firmware. The latest Firmware can be downloaded here.
Q8: Again, powersave mode is the same thing as sleep mode. You should have no issues allowing your wireless Officejet 8625 to go into a sleep mode. Once the printer is asleep you simply send a print job to your printer and the printer will 'wake up' and print for you. It is rare to see 'sleep mode' or 'powersave' issues. Always keep the Firmware up to date to avoid programming issues.
Q9:  Microsoft has recently released a HotFix to correct wireless printing issues as they have found printing issues within the Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 Operating Systems. This issue is not specific to HP or the HP Officejet 8625. Rather, the issue seems to affect all wireless printers on the Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 Operating Systems. The HotFix can be found here. Once the website opens you simply select the button for HotFix Download Available. Follow any onscreen prompts to install the HotFix. There has been a lot of luck with running this fix.
I hope this information helps to clear up any issues you may have. Please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns. Thanks for reaching out to the HP Support Forums!

    Hi helenhunt,
I would like to help you with this.
I have located a document I believe will be helpful. Although the title is 'Printer is offline' Message Displays on the Computer and the Printer Will Not Print, the solutions will help resolve the symptoms you are experiencing.
Solution 1 in this document suggests using the HP Print and Scan Doctor. This is a great place to start because
the Print and Scan Doctor diagnoses and helps resolve common printing, scanning, and connectivity problems, including:
    Connectivity :
USB: Verifies that the USB connection from your computer to the HP product is working correctly.
Network: Verifies that the network connection between your computer and your network is working correctly.
Device Status Test : Checks for device errors such as out of paper, paper jams, carriage stalls, and paper feed issues, and then provides instructions for fixing the error.
Driver Check : Checks for missing or corrupt driver files.
Device Manager : Checks for problems in Device Manager that would prevent printing.
Device Online : Checks if the product has been paused or set to offline, and then sets the status back to online if necessary.
Print Queue : Checks for and clears pending print jobs in the print queue (a log of print jobs waiting to print).
Port Match : Checks the port settings for the HP product.
Device Conflicts : Checks for conflicts with other drivers, such as other printer brands.
Ink Issues : Checks the cartridges and ink levels for issues that affect print quality.
Print Settings : Checks and adjusts the print quality settings.
Test Print : Prints a test page for print quality evaluation, and provides options for cleaning and aligning the printhead if necessary.
Scan Tests : Checks the scan mechanism, drivers, and registry entries.
Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require additional assistance, thanks.
