Office Jet Pro 8000 - Feed problems

Our officejet pro 8000 has just decided to stop feeding paper, whether I have 10 sheets or 50 sheets inserted it wont feed. It just makes a clicking sound, not so much a grinding sounbd, definatly a clicking sound. On inspection it looks like a cog maybe jumping?
Anyone else had issues with this model and found a fix?
thanks
Si

I am having the exact same problem - constant feed problems - and I have tested other kinds of paper....

    Hi Unkljoey,
Are you referring to web pages inside the HP Home & Biz app, or are you referring to the actual app Pages?
Currently the Office Jet Pro 8000 Wireless does not support AirPrint or ePrint. The only way to print from the internet or selected saved files is to use the HP Home & Biz app. Here is a list of ePrint and AirPrint compatible printers.
In order to print web pages with the app it is required that you register the app itself with your eprincenter.com account. You can do this by selecting ePrint in the top right corner on the app, and then choose register with ePrint.

  • Office Jet Pro 8000 Does Not Recognize Legal Paper

I have an Officejet Pro 8000 and added a second paper tray for legal paper.  I know I'm not doing something simple but can't remember how to get printer preferences to show both letter and legal for available paper.  I chatted with tech support for an hour and still no answer.  Would appreciate any help in getting my printer to recognize legal paper.  When I empty the top tray, it does grab the legal paper.  Thanks!

    OK, good.
Have you gone to: Start, Control Panel, Printers...right click on the printer and selected Printing Preferences?  It should be in there.
Also, when you open a print dialog (by selecting File, Print or cntl-P from any program) you should be able to select which tray it prints from.
If you have been on the phone about this for an hour you have probably done this, but it should really be there.
There is a relatively new software/driver package for XP and your printer here.

  • Print on hp office jet pro 8000 A809 from iPhone 5s

I have had this printer hooked up to my desktop and now that I have an iPhone (5s) would like to print from phone. I have an old HP desktop XP Pro Ver 3 and printer usb linkeded into PC. Right now the printer is not detecting any connection wirelessly alhough it's hard wire connected. Anybody have a similar deal?
    Thanks

I have it looks like the same problem.  Do I take this printer apart to check if any of the parts are broken?   If so HOW?

  • Office Jet Pro 8000 Wireless suddenly won't print cyan.

The printer in question, as stated in the title, is an Officejet Pro 800 Wireless.  It still has the original print heads, which it reports to be in “good” condition.  All of the original ink cartridges have been replaced once, the last being the cyan cartridge which was replaced with a brand new 940 XL a few weeks ago.  The printer has been working flawlessly until just tonight, when it suddenly stopped printing cyan.  The other three inks all seem to print just fine, but not cyan.
So far, I have tried removing and reinstalling the cyan cartridge, and the cyan/magenta printhead.  No change.  If I try to print a page of solid cyan, I get nothing but a plain white page.
Any ideas?  Is it plausible for there to be a defect in the cyan ink cartridge which would cause it to work just fine for a few weeks, and then suddenly stop?  The cartridge has an expiration date of 2014-01-01.
How about the printhead?  The printer reports that it is in “good” condition, and that its warranty expires on 2011-11-19.  The warranty on the printer itself has already expired.  (Correction—on generating the page again in order to produce the image that I will attach to this message, that status now reads “Monitor” instead of “Good”.)

It seems like there might be a problem with the Cyan\Magenta printhead. I suggest you have a look at teh document below and follow the steps mentioned in it. In your case, you could start from Solution 4, which is to print a Print Quality Diagnostic report and follow the appropriate steps mentioned thereafter.

I think you may need to replace the CM Printhead if the steps don't help.

  • HP Office Jet Pro 8000 Printhead Issues (?)

One morning I printed several things and all was well.  The next thing didn't print at all.  I went through the trouble shooter and sent test pages which were very scanty with detail.  At that point I noticed that one of the colors needed replacing, installed that one, then the nex showed need to replace, installed that one and tried another test page.  The same scanty info.  The trouble shooter recommended trying to print the test page directly from the printer.  That was much better, but a lines of type had lines through them.  I replaced the printer cord and reinstalled the driver, but not much changed.  The third color eventually showed the need to replace which I did.  Now I have all new cartridges including black in the printer.  What was interesting is that generally when I repace ink in one of my HP printers, I get a message that the printer is "aligning the printhead" or doing some sort of check of the new cartridge.  Nothing like that happend with any of the three color cartridges.  I also did some trouble shooting on the HP site and found a video about replacing the printhead(s), but nothing that indicated what to look for on the printed paper or warning lights on the printer itself.  On this particular printer there is no LCD screen to show error messages.  I thought that I read on HP that a warning message would pop up on your computer screen if the printheads needed replacing, but never rec'd ANY messages on the monitor.  Does this sound like a printhead problem or a printer problem that needs repair?
    Thanks.
    Karen

    Hi dalmatianmom,
From what you described, It could be the printhead(s) causing the issue. I have located a document that I think will be very helpful. Troubleshooting Print Quality Issues.
If the issue persists after following all of the solutions in this document, I recommend calling HP. HP will have in and out of warranty options available. The number to call HP is 1-800-474-6836 for Canada and US, or you can Contact HP Worldwide.
    I hope this helps.

  • HP office jet pro 8600 - wireless printing problem

I am having difficulty printing wirelessly from my iMac to my HP office jet pro 8600. Sometimes it will print, often after waiting hours. But quite often it does print and when I click on the printer icon there is a message that states: "Ready on Server. The printer is not responding. I have no problem or delay in printing from my iPad or iPhone. Tried turning the printer on and off.

when you set it up with your wireless router did you let the printer detect the connection. If so check the wireless channel the router is set to. I changed mine and wham, now it prints as soon as my finger hits the mouse button. Hope this helps.

  • Office Jet Pro 8600 Plus Faxing Problem with 2-EXT port Connected

I have the Office Jet Pro 8600 Plus and when I fax, I must disconnect the phone line connected to the 2-EXT port on the back of the printer. This is very annoying, and I'm hoping someone here can provide a more convienent solution. I'm connected through a Cable Modem EMTA device for my voice service that is sharing the fax...which like I said, faxes fine, as long as the phone line is disconnected from the 2-EXT port first.
    Thx,

    Hi @powwow63 ,
I see that you are having issues with sending faxes, you have to disconnect the line in Ext 2 to be able to send a fax.
I can help you with this.
Using a Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) telephone service can cause faxing to fail because fax transmissions are sensitive to the timing of the signals used to transmit the fax. If using a VoIP digital line is necessary, changing the Fax Speed Adjustment setting to Slow might improve the ability to send a fax over a VoIP telephone line.
Make sure that you have a DSL filter installed. If you do not have a DSL filter, contact your DSL provider to find out where you can buy one.
I have provided a document with some steps for changing the fax setting on the printer.
    Cannot Send or Receive Faxes.
Go to Solution nine: Enable or disable error correction mode in this document.
Fax Sending Fails Intermittently or Fails for Only One Recipient.

  • I only want my HP Office Jet Pro 8600 Plus to print in black and white

I have an HP Office Jet Pro 8600 plus and I only need it to print out word documents and do not need color. For some reason the printer requires me to refill my yellow ink in order for me to print a document in greyscale. How can I change the settings so this doesn't occur?

  • Hp Office Jet Pro 8600 A910, suddenly can't send fax. Reveiving faxes are ok.

We can't send any fax, but we can still receive a fax. This happened suddenly without any changes (on device or our telephone line) When sending a fax it dials and gives a busy tone. After that we get a error sheet pointing out Error 388, communication error. Following things we did:- Tried sending fax on our other phone line to rule out broken phone cable/connections.- Called to phone and from phone to fax which worked.- Printed out T90 testsheet. All tests passed.- Tried faxing with ECM off or in other words turned off the error connection mode.- Tried faxing with lower connection speed setting.- Checked other settings to see if there was anything wrong, but all okay.- Powered off, disconnected power cable for at least 15 seconds. Is the fax broken or anything else we can try?

Hi , I see you have been troubleshooting an issue with your Officejet Pro 8600 no longer able to send faxes, and I think I may have found some more information for you. Can you specify your your exact printer model for me? In your post title you say it is an 'Office Jet Pro 8600 A910' but and A910 is an Officejet 8500A. How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number? Seems like an odd question, but the printer make a copy? It could be an issue with the scanner mechanism.
Is the printer connected directly to a wall outlet or is it in a surge protector or a power bar? We want to connect it to a wall outlet just so we can eliminate the power source as the root cause. See this document for more information about Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector (Note: This document is not limited to Laserjet printers.)
HP regularly releases firmware updates that may also correct the problem you are experiencing. You can click on this link to;Get Printer Updates for HP Officejet Pro 8600 (N911), Officejet 6600 (H711) and Officejet 6700 Premium (H711) e-All-in-One Printer SeriesGet Printer Updates for HP Officejet 6500A, and Officejet Pro 8500A e-All-in-One Printer Series Have you tried to run the Fax Test Report? It's usually located in the setup menu, under tools. The fax test report will let you know if it finds any problems and how to correct them. Once everything passes on the fax test report, you can Test Your HP Fax Machine with the HP Fax Test Service.  I reviewed the error code you provided from the Interpreting Error Codes in Fax Communication Error or Fax History Reports document.  Error 388: There is too much noise on the line for a valid connection between two fax machines to complete. The noise problem might go away over time. Retry the fax reception when telephone line conditions have improved. Call the telephone provider if line conditions fail to improve. Have you touched base with the phone company to make sure they have not changed anything on their end? Does this same error occur with every number you try to dial?  You could see if anything in Fax Sending Fails Intermittently or Fails for Only One Recipient is helpful as well.  Please let me know if these steps resolved your issue, or if there is anything else I can do to help.  I look forward to hearing from you!   Thanks,

  • HP Office Jet Pro 8600 all in one

I fax documents from word with my printer. Every once in a while, but more frequently as of late, the document will fax, shows send in the log, I hear the the fax completely send and hang up, but then it will fax it over and over, even though I only set it to fax one time. Only way then to stop it from sending is to turn off printer and then I either have to reboot my computer or log off to get it to clear. When computer comes back up, I turn printer back on and it is ready for use. It has done this since I bought it, but like I said seems more frequent.
It is an HP office jet pro 8600 all in one, running on Windows 8.1. It is hard wired, not running wirelesslym with desktop. Anybody have any clues as to what is causing this and how to fix it.  It is so frustrating.  Thanks.

    Hi LFoskey,
Does the printer send multiple faxes when you fax directly from the printer, or only when you fax from Word?
    You can check for a firmware update in cause the issue is being caused by the printer itself;
HP Officejet Pro 8600 N911a Firmware
HP Officejet Pro 8600 N911g_n Firmware (Plus and Premium models)
    Please also try the HP Print and Scan Doctor, it can quickly resolve any issues including but not limited to;
Driver Check : Checks for missing or corrupt driver files.
Device Manager : Checks for problems in Device Manager that would prevent printing.
Device Online : Checks if the product has been paused or set to offline, and then sets the status back to online if necessary.
Print Queue : Checks for and clears pending print jobs in the print queue (a log of print jobs waiting to print).
Port Match : Checks the port settings for the HP product.
Device Conflicts : Checks for conflicts with other drivers, such as other printer brands.

Please post back and let me know if there are any symbols other than green check marks and what they are next to of course. The wrench is not always easy to spot as the wrench and the check mart are in the green circle.
If you see only green check marks ( ), the tool did not find any problems.
If you see green wrenches ( ), the utility identified an issue and corrected it automatically.
If you see yellow exclamation points ( ), the test failed and required user action, but the step was skipped.
If you see a red X ( ), follow the on-screen instructions to resolve the issue.
