Office Jet Pro L7580 Runtime error when re-installing drivers

My Dell Latitude with Windows 7 (32 Bit) stopped talking to my Office Jet Pro L7580 a month or two ago, and I finally had time to try to troubleshoot it. I don't have any idea what may have changed to make it stop. After trying to reinstall it without success,  I uninstalled the driver/app using the Windows uninstall and uninstalled the printer using the control panel. I then downloaded OJPRO7X00_FULL_14.exe and ran it. It extracts correctly, but then comes up with the message: Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library,  Runtime Error: Program: C:\USERS\WA... This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information.
I have several other drivers for other printers on the machine for use at my workplace, and they work fine, and this and earlier versions of this HP driver/app working fine for a couple of years. I've seen others on the forum that have had this error, but not in this situation.
I'm stuck at this point. Any help would be appreciated.

If you have not tried the above steps yet, then I have an alternative.  Try reverting back to an old save point prior to the date you lost your scanning abilities.
I have seen a runtime error on Windows 8 where the OS was refreshed and that fixed the issue.  In Windows 7, refresh is like reverting back to an old save point.  You can also choose to upgrade your Windows 7 OS to Windows 7 OS (that is not an error in typing).  This restores the important original settings prior to the possibility that perhaps a Windows update to C++ is what caused this.
You also have the option of using a recovery CD as well.  The link(s) below may also be helpful.
--Backup and Restore--
--How to Use System Restore--
Let me know if these are also options.  Since you have a lot of HP printers, yes my steps above would cause you to have to re-install the software to every last one of them.  I want to make this as easy as possible for you but if the above suggestions do not work, it may have to be done.  Keep me posted though. I hope this works!

  • Office jet 6700 printer jam error when there is no printer jam

I get a continuous printer jam error when there is no jam present.  I have tried connecting and reconnecting.  Same error.

    Hi @lbrockhurst
Although you are not experiencing a true paper jam, the solutions presented in the following document might help to resolve the issue; A 'Paper Jam' Error Displays on the HP Officejet 6600 e-All-in-One and 6700 Premium e-All-in-One Pri...
    As you will see in the document above, paper jam messages are not only a result of physical paper jams;
The following factors can cause paper jams:
Paper loaded incorrectly in the paper tray.
    Damaged or dirty paper rollers.
Torn, wrinkled, or damp paper loaded in the paper tray.
The rear access door or two-sided printing accessory (duplexer) might not be closed or is not locked into place.
Paper was added to a stack already in the tray while the HP product was printing.
The tray contains more than one type of paper.
The paper is jammed inside the HP product where you cannot see it.
An obstruction is blocking the paper path.
Torn pieces of paper from a previous jam are stuck in the product.
    The tray is too full.
If printing on an envelope, the edges of the envelope are bent.
I have also seen communication hiccups cause such error messages. This may sound silly, but if the issue persists, after completing the steps in the document I provided, let's leave the router on and unplug the power cable (NOTE: Do not reset the router.),  then do the same with the printer, and shut down the computer. After a full minute, plug the router back in, wait for it to fully power up, then plug the printer back in and wait for the wireless light to become solid. Once both the router and printer are on, go ahead and turn the computer back on. Doing this will refresh the network connection.
    I hope this heps.

  • Office jet pro 8600 envelope bending when printing

I've tried printing envelopes and I have no problem printing, loading envelopes or making sure they are not crooked. However, the envelopes become bended after printing. I would like to know if there's anyway to have straight through printing so that the envelopes do not bend during printing.
I've attempted to remove the duplexer, but when printing it says the tray is out of paper.

Hello there! Welcome to the forums @Vssv0425 ,
I read about how your envelopes are bending when fed through the printer and I'd like to offer my suggestion.

If the troubleshooting does not help resolve your issue, I would then suggest calling HP's Technical Support to see about further options for you, such as a replacement or trade in. • Office Jet Pro 8600 Plus Faxing Problem with 2-EXT port Connected

I have the Office Jet Pro 8600 Plus and when I fax, I must disconnect the phone line connected to the 2-EXT port on the back of the printer. This is very annoying, and I'm hoping someone here can provide a more convienent solution. I'm connected through a Cable Modem EMTA device for my voice service that is sharing the fax...which like I said, faxes fine, as long as the phone line is disconnected from the 2-EXT port first.
    Thx,

    Hi @powwow63 ,
I see that you are having issues with sending faxes, you have to disconnect the line in Ext 2 to be able to send a fax.
I can help you with this.
Using a Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) telephone service can cause faxing to fail because fax transmissions are sensitive to the timing of the signals used to transmit the fax. If using a VoIP digital line is necessary, changing the Fax Speed Adjustment setting to Slow might improve the ability to send a fax over a VoIP telephone line.
Make sure that you have a DSL filter installed. If you do not have a DSL filter, contact your DSL provider to find out where you can buy one.
I have provided a document with some steps for changing the fax setting on the printer.
    Cannot Send or Receive Faxes.
Go to Solution nine: Enable or disable error correction mode in this document.

I have a Office Jet Pro L7780. When I try to print red, the color comes out brown. I have tried replacing all of the ink cartridges, printing from within two different programs (microsoft word and belight business card composer V5) from my Mac, and from within MS Word on my Windows lap top. In all cases if red is called for, I get brown.
I have gone through the printhead cleaning procedure, the alignment procedure and the print quality diagnostics, all to no avail.

  • Can't scan from Office Jet Pro 8600

I can't scan from my Office Jet Pro 8600.  I'm connected to my home Verizon Fios wireless network.  I'm running Windows XP.  The printer works fine, but I can't scan.  When I use the display on the printer I get a "No Computer Found" message.  When I go to find the scanner on the Control Panel/Scanners & Cameras - I can see the printer listed, but when I click on the printer, I get a message that reads: "The scanning software could not be found, or your scanner is not connected.  Please make sure your scanner & your scanner software are properly installed."    So then I use the HP Print & Scan Doctor to download to "Get Installer" presumably to download the software.  After the software downloads, there is no difference.  I still can scan, & the network is not seeing the scanner.  What gives?

    Hello,

  • HP Office Jet Pro 8600 Plus 910 n printer driver does not install on a windows server 2008R2 OS

I recently had a new server installed, a Proliant with a Windows Server 2008R2 operating system. I now just discovered that my All in One Office Jet Pro 8600 Plus A 910 will not install on the Windows Server 2008 R2, ïncompatible operating system. Does anybody have a workaround or solution?

    Hello dawnp,
    Welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that you are having an issue with installing the printer on to your Windows 7 computer.
I suggest that we start off by running the HP Print and Scan Doctor.  If the Doctor fails, please let me know where it failed as well as any error codes you may see.

  • Hp Office Jet Pro 8600 A910, suddenly can't send fax. Reveiving faxes are ok.

We can't send any fax, but we can still receive a fax. This happened suddenly without any changes (on device or our telephone line) When sending a fax it dials and gives a busy tone. After that we get a error sheet pointing out Error 388, communication error. Following things we did:- Tried sending fax on our other phone line to rule out broken phone cable/connections.- Called to phone and from phone to fax which worked.- Printed out T90 testsheet. All tests passed.- Tried faxing with ECM off or in other words turned off the error connection mode.- Tried faxing with lower connection speed setting.- Checked other settings to see if there was anything wrong, but all okay.- Powered off, disconnected power cable for at least 15 seconds. Is the fax broken or anything else we can try?

Hi , I see you have been troubleshooting an issue with your Officejet Pro 8600 no longer able to send faxes, and I think I may have found some more information for you. Can you specify your your exact printer model for me? In your post title you say it is an 'Office Jet Pro 8600 A910' but and A910 is an Officejet 8500A. How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number? Seems like an odd question, but the printer make a copy? It could be an issue with the scanner mechanism.
Is the printer connected directly to a wall outlet or is it in a surge protector or a power bar? We want to connect it to a wall outlet just so we can eliminate the power source as the root cause. See this document for more information about Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector (Note: This document is not limited to Laserjet printers.)
HP regularly releases firmware updates that may also correct the problem you are experiencing. You can click on this link to;Get Printer Updates for HP Officejet Pro 8600 (N911), Officejet 6600 (H711) and Officejet 6700 Premium (H711) e-All-in-One Printer SeriesGet Printer Updates for HP Officejet 6500A, and Officejet Pro 8500A e-All-in-One Printer Series Have you tried to run the Fax Test Report? It's usually located in the setup menu, under tools. The fax test report will let you know if it finds any problems and how to correct them. Once everything passes on the fax test report, you can Test Your HP Fax Machine with the HP Fax Test Service.  I reviewed the error code you provided from the Interpreting Error Codes in Fax Communication Error or Fax History Reports document.  Error 388: There is too much noise on the line for a valid connection between two fax machines to complete. The noise problem might go away over time. Retry the fax reception when telephone line conditions have improved. Call the telephone provider if line conditions fail to improve. Have you touched base with the phone company to make sure they have not changed anything on their end? Does this same error occur with every number you try to dial?  You could see if anything in Fax Sending Fails Intermittently or Fails for Only One Recipient is helpful as well.  Please let me know if these steps resolved your issue, or if there is anything else I can do to help.  I look forward to hearing from you!   Thanks,
