Office mac 2011 - printing issue

I created a document using Microsoft Office for Mac 2011.  I can't seem to get the document background to print?  I see it when I am working on it but it does not show up in my print preview or the actual printed copy.  Ugh!  Thanks...

I put it in the forum per your suggestion here: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/mac/forum/macoffice2011-macword/office-2011-a nd-macbook-pro-printing-menu/8a9504c5-1bd6-47cd-9d2b-609eb7b17e74 and it is solved by reformatting.

  • MS Office Word 2011 Printing issue

Every time I print a word document my HP 8500 Officejet Pro prints out a sheet with the below info. How do I stop this from happening every time I print?
    Filename:
    Folder:
    Template:
    Title
    Subject
    Creation Date
    Change Number
    etc
    etc
    ect

You have the Word preferences set to print the document properties. Open the Word Preferences (click on Word then select Preferences). Click the Print icon and de-select Document Properties. OK the change and now you won't get the extra sheet.

  • I installed Office:mac 2011 on my new iMac running 10.8.3 and discovoed my file transfer from my old macbook installed Office:mac 2088. Now I have both installed and none of the office apps work - I keep getting the same error message

I recently purchased an iMac to replace my 2008 macbook.
I used migration assitant to transfer all of my macbook files to the iMac. I noticed that I had the old 2008 version of Office:mac 2008 on the iMac and decided to install Office:mac 2011 which installed successfully.
However, now I can't open excel or word or powwerpoint now using either 2008 or 2011.... I just get an error message saying there was an error and the app had to close. It offers to send a report to Microsoft.
I tried moving Office:mac 2008 to trash but this didn't resolve the issue.
Can anyone help (I am not a really sohpisticated user so be gentle)
    Thanks Dave

    Hello Dave,
This forum is for troubleshooting Apple Software Update for Windows, a software package for Windows designed to update Apple products that run on Windows, and not related to Microsoft Office in any way. I suggest you post Office related questions on Microsoft's own forums for their Mac products.

  • MS Office Mac 2011 CD Wont Run

    HI,
When i insert the installation CD for MS Office Mac 2011, the CD drive runs-stops-runs-stops etc and eventually spits back out the CD; why won't it read launch the disk properly?
The CD drive works as other CDs are read correctly and without issue.
    Tks,

Sounds like it might be an issue with the DVD itself. Try giving it a clean by wiping it down with a lint-free cloth.

  • IPhone4 syncing with MacPro microsoft Office mac 2011 Outlook

I'm unable to get my new i Phone 4 to sync with my Mac Book Pro using "Microsoft Office Mac 2011", "Outlook" for my email, calendar, contacts & tasks. Can someone help me?

I am having the same issues as you are and I spent about an hour on the phone with Microsoft Office yesterday and they told me that they are still working on a program to resolve this issue. It would have been nice if Apple did not authorize this product until all features where available.
I have many entries in my outlook calendar to transfer it all to ical, as well, i run a business so i do not want meeting invites coming from my mobile.me account - does not look professional. Does anyone know how to resolve this issue until Microsoft comes out with an update for calendars?

I think my problem has been that in Sytem Preferences>Mouse, my "Double-Click Speed" was set to the SLOWEST setting. After some experimentation, I now have the that setting two notches from the "Fast" end of the scale. In case it's important, the "Primary mouse button" in my Preferences is set to "Left".
This not only solves the text selection issues described, but also seems to eliminate the strange "resolving alias to" problem.
[For the curious, I have a Logitech Performance MX wireless mouse which can be configured with "Logitech Control Center". But the LCC software doesn't control double-click speed; this setting can only be made in the Mouse System Preference pane.]

  • Microsoft Office:mac 2011 want work with my script made in Microsoft Windows. May  be there is a file Problem.

    Hello!
Two years ago i made a script with a microsoft windows PC, using "Office Word".
Last year i changed my Hardware into apple Mac ,using Yosemite 10.10.3.
To work on with my script with apple i use Microsoft Office:mac 2011 Home and Student, but it want work. It is deeply frozen and very very slow. Mouse is not working normally. Pages are scrolling automatically. There is a Problem in kompatilibility between the file of my script (written by using a microsoft PC) and the apple computer e.g. Office:mac.
    Someone who can help?
    Ev

Apple support is not an expert source for Microsoft scripts, if Microsoft can't figure out their own software you'll just have to wait until someone who has had, and cured the issue.
    Sorry.

  • Office:mac 2011 home and business

I am using Office:mac 2011 on my new mac and just after I updated to the new operating system OS X Yosemite version 10.10, my Outlook account has started to add mailboxes to some of my email accounts. e.g.. INBOX 1-INBOX 11-INBOX 111 and it just keeps going
adding more ones after each inbox. It has moved accounts and some emails are just not there anymore. Is it an incompatibility problem with the new operating system?
    thank you net56

It's recommended to download and install

  • Office mac 2011 cannot open pdf

I cannot open pdf files in office mac 2011.
    Does anyone have any suggestions.

It sounds like you want to be able to modify a PDF in Word.
If that is the case you need a program that will open the PDF and then perform an OCR (Optical Scan Recognition) on it to convert it back to text (PDF is a form of image/graphic file; like a photo taken of how it will print).
Take a look at PDFPen Pro:

    from Smile Software
They also have a more limited featured version for less money:

I've had MS Office:mac 2011 on my imac for around 18 months now.  Outlook has just disappeared and when I find the file and open it it tells me that there is a problem and I may need to re-install it.  I've just done this using the installation disc which, then said the installation had been successful.
Outlook is still not working.  Can anyone please advise me on what to do next.

Remove MS Office 2011 completely (here are instructions) and reinstall it.
It's not a simple or fast process but it is important to follow all of the steps in order to get all the files that Office scatters around. This will not affect your data files, only MS Office and its preferences.

  • How do install Office: Mac 2011?  I am getting an error message when I go to the page...

trying to install microsoft office: mac 2011 home and student.  i am directed to a page and when i click on the link I get an error message about security.  i don't have the option anywhere of entering the product key.  not sure what to do.

You need to download the installer from Microsoft after you purchase it. Then you will have to run that application and it will request the product key as it goes thru the motions of setting up the product.
If you're trying to download an illegal version for free, that will explain the security message. The browser would be trying to protect you from yourself.

  • I just bought a new IMAC and i want to install the Office Mac 2011, but it doesn´t have a CD unit. How can I do it?

I just bought a new IMAC and I want to install the Office Mac 2011, but it doesn´t have a CD unit. How can I do it?

Howard has the easiest answer. Or at least, cheapest, since you don't need to purchase an external CD/DVD drive.
The "demo" software from Microsoft's site is exactly the same as what's on the DVD. Install that and activate it with the key in your software box.
    From Microsoft's site:
How do I install Office for Mac 2011 if my Mac doesn't have a DVD drive?
There are two options for installing Office for Mac if your Mac doesn't have a DVD drive.
Option 1: Convert your Office for Mac 2011 trial. To convert a trial version, you must have a valid product key. The product key will convert your trial into a fully licensed version of Office for Mac.
    1. Locate the 25-character product key in your product package or confirmation email.
    2. Open any Office for Mac application, like Word, PowerPoint, or Excel.
    3. On the first screen of the Microsoft Office Setup Assistant, click Enter your Product Key.
    4. Enter your product key and complete the installation instructions.
Option 2: If you have not previously installed the trial version, you can download Office for Mac from the Office for Mac website. To download, install, and activate the software you must have a valid Office 2011 product key.
    1. Locate your 25-character product key found in your product package or confirmation email.
    2. Go to www.officeformac.com/download
    3. Click Get Started to start the download process.
    4. When prompted, enter your 25-character product key and select your product language.
    5. When prompted, sign in with your Windows Live ID or sign up and create a new Windows Live ID account.
    6. After you enter your Windows Live ID, you will see a link to download the software. (You will also receive a confirmation email with a link to your My Account page if you prefer to wait and download your software at a later time.)
    7. Click Download Now to start the download.
    8. Save the file to your desktop. Do not change the file name.
    9. When the download is complete, double-click the .dmg file icon on your desktop. This opens the Installer application in Mac OS X.
    10. Follow the instructions in the installer screens to complete your installation.

  • Retina display for office mac 2011

I recently purchased a Mac Book Pro with Retina Display.  When I hook up an external montitor Microsoft Office Excel is blurry as is Word.
Mac Book Pro screen,  same thing.  Does Office Mac 2011 upgrade really fix the problem?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
Office 2011 needs an update to be compatible with Retina display. Install the most recent version from the Microsoft site > http://www.microsoft.com/mac/downloads Or open an Office app, and go to Help menu (on the menu bar) > Check for Updates. Run it twice

  • Why can't I open a PDF in Word?  I have Microsoft Office:Mac 2011

Why can't I open a PDF document in Word.  I have Microsoft Office:Mac 2011 installed because I have to email PDF and word documents to my clients.  Please help.
I currently have been viewing them in Preview.  Is that the only way?

Word is a text processor, not a PDF viewer. You can embed a PDF document in a Word document, but that's pretty much it. Besides Preview there are numerous third-party applications that can also view PDFs such as Adobe Reader.
