Office product key needed

I took my 4 year old g550 laptop back to it's start this week and found that I no longer have full office access- it's the trial version and I need to put in the 25 digit key to get full access again.
Yes - I DID have the full office for 4 years in case anyone is going to tell me I only had the trial one.
Anyway, how do I find out what the key is? I didn't get a disc at the time, it was just "on" when I bought it.

hi markdou,
Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
If the computer was purchased from Lenovo together with an Office Registered,
It should come with a Key card where it list your Product key for Office.
That is the only original copy of the Office Product key and Lenovo does not have any copy of it.
was the computer purchased with office from another store or the Lenovo Website.
Hope this helps
Cheers!

  • Visio professional 2013 cant install because office product key does not match

Settings: office 2007 on windows 7
I'm the IT manager for a small consulting company. We use the full microsoft stack - all paid for.
When one of the consultants needed visio we went along and bought an digital version of it.
We installed it and all was nice and dandy.
The consultant left the company, we decommissioned the visio product from his laptop which was then recomissioned to a new employee without the visio.
Another consultant is now in need of visio. When trying to install visio according to the instructions we are asked to activate the office account on this specific laptop.
We then get a message that this office Product key is activated through another Microsoft account please log out and log in with that account?
We are using the exact same procedure as when installing the visio the first time (the visio sw is not installed or used on any other machine).
We have a multi license (volume) windows and office agreement with product keys.
AND WE ARE STUCK - SPENDING MORE TIME ON THIS THAN IT WOULD ACTUALLY COST US TO BUY ANOTHER Visio license!
I've used Microsoft / windows / office throughout my career but this just is not professional!
Please help – To me this is not a support issue that I should spend support money on. We have purchased all products and we cannot get it to work.

    Hi,
From your description, you had a digital version of Visio professional 2013, it was a retail version. Please give me the whole error message when you
    activate Visio.
As far as I know, we need to uninstall Visio professional 2013 online( keep connection with internet),then we could re-install and activate it. If you uninstall
it from consultant' laptop offline, it'll store the product key in the laptop.
I recommend you activate a Microsoft product by using Microsoft Product Activation Center

  • Can't find 2011 Microsoft Office product key after using Time Machine

I just upgraded my macbook pro to a 512gb crucial ssd. In order for me to do this without downloading any other software off the internet, I bought an external drive and had time machine back up everything. I installed the SSD, started up the computer and had time machine do its thing and booted everything up onto the ssd. Everything went perfectly up, until I went to open up any Microsoft Office application because they required I put in the product key. The last time I put in the product key was when I first bought the macbook pro about 4 years ago(I installed everything using the disc). What I tried to do was boot the computer using the old hard drive and we have the same story.... I need a product key that I don't have. I even tried installing a product key finder and it found no Microsoft Office product key.
Tomorrow my plan is to use time machine to bring me back to the couple minutes before I setup the new SSD. Before I do that, I want to know what your opinions are on this matter or more importantly, what should I do?
    Thanks in advance.

Read the instructions that came with your PIN - they tell you how to get the Product Key from the MS Shop (I think it comes from there, anyhow!)

  • How to retrieve Microsoft Office Product Key  for Mac

Hi there, Hopefully someone might have a suggestion on how to retrieve the Microsoft Office Product Key for Office 2010 on Mac.
Scenario:  Last month, Apple advised me my iMac hard drive may be faulty and would need replacing.  That was done, I restored my iMac from Timeline backup and everything is dandy except I need the Product Key for Office to access any of my documents.  I purchased the product online in my old job, that email address is now no longer valid and I have lost access to the email that the product key was emailed to me in.  I am unable to retrieve the product key from Microsoft without buying a new copy.
I do have Office uploaded on my Macbook Air from the same download/product key, so I have access to the program on the laptop but not the iMac.  Hopefully I can get the product key from the laptop somehow.
Any guidance or suggestions would be appreciated.  Thanks :-)

As Office is not an Apple product, I strongly recommend asking in the Microsoft Office:Mac forums here:

Everyone there is a Mac user AND an Office user, something you can't say about Apple's forums. You will get the fastest help there and I think you will find the contributors more than helpful.

  • Missing MS Office Product Key

I did a factory restore on my notebook PC.  I did not record the MS Office product key because I thought it was pre-installed.  I purchased the computer in 2010 and cannot find the original CD's/manuals.  Is there a way that I can find out what the product key is?

Hi,             The Microsoft Office installed on this notebook is trial version, you can check this information from the below link. The full version of office should have been installed by store, so you have to get in touch with them as HP ships this unit with trial version of Office. http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-Pavilion-dv6-Entertainment-Notebook-PC-series/4150017/model/4230503/document/c02207165/

  • I need to re-enter Microsoft Office Product Key all the time!

Why do I need to enter the Product Key Number all the time when I open Office programs? I use Microsoft Office Mac 2011 Home & Student. At least every week I need to re-enter the product key number..... Why??

Get in touch with Microsoft support. Let them solve it. That is what I had to do with a similar problem.

  • MS Office product key

Where do I find the product key for MS Office?  I bought the HP Envy laptop with Office installed, however, I lost the product key.  Is there anyway to search the PC itself to obtain product key?

You are indeed correct -- the old Microsoft link is dead.
I have corrected the Post, thanks for the update.
I am sorry the link is no longer active; the content was not my own -- the link pointed to a Microsoft file.  I suspect whatever solution was posted in the file is no longer valid, hence the removal of the document and the link.
You can certainly call Microsoft -- except for the usual hassle one associates with calling any Response Center, calling Microsoft is not worse than calling any of the rest:
You may have to wait in the queue,
You might need to wade through endless menus and never find a topic that fits your situation,
You might be shuttled between silence and beeps and odd musical interludes,
    and then --
Finally, when you are connected with a live person -
The Technician might accidentally disconnect the call when you are transferred one last time...
    Piece of cake.
    Smiling.
    ========================================================
On the other hand, I have talked to Microsoft on occasion when I have needed help -- and they have been pretty good about providing me the assistance I needed.
If you have your receipts, that is, you can at least prove you purchased the software, you should be golden.

    Hi,
If you didn't purchase Office 2010 online, then I would suggest you to contact Microsoft Support (https://support.microsoft.com/ContactUs/)
Microsoft Support might be able to help you if you have a valid proof of purchase. If you don't, there is very little they can do. While we understand this can be frustrating, please note that this is similar to other company or store policies when you lose
your proof of purchase for their products.
Or, you can contact Microsoft via Contact Microsoft Customer Service:

  • Microsoft Office Product Key

    Hi
I am planning on getting a new hard drive for my macbook pro and I can't find my Microsoft Office 2011 product key (or installation disk)
If i want to have office on the new hard drive, do I simply have to copy the Applications (and related files) over to the new hard drive, then add the [/Library/Preferences/com.microsoft.office.licensing.plist] file?
Or do I need to reinstall Office from the microsoft website (if so, where would I find this)?
Please correct me if I am wrong

  • Product Keys needed?

Just like so many others I am getting the Hard Drive fail message thing. So my plan is to Back Up doing the Image on an external hard drive, replace the Hard Drive. I think I have an idea how to reload the OS and Programs back onto the new drive but do i need the Product Keys for Windows 7 and Office 7? The key for Windows is worn off and I can't get to the email that had the Office key,
is there an easy way to get these?

If you use HP recovery disc's then you should not need the COA under the laptop.
    Office I am not sure???
Since we process 10,000-15,000 laptops a month I bought PCWinRecovery.
    There is a free download.
To get the product keys I think you need to purchase an upgrade.

  • Changing MS Office product key

Hey, I need to reinstall MS Office but I couldn't do it via the CD as my disc drive is broken (i have tested on more than one CDs) so i transferred my friends MS Office to mine but it's registered with his product key. Can i change it so that it's registered to mine because I don't obviously want to get sued!
    Many thanks

Since Office is not an Apple product, you'll get better response if you use a forum dedicated to Microsoft's Mac products such as <http://groups.google.com/groups/dir?sel=33607053> rather than an Apple forum.
Be sure to search the forum first in case someone has already had a similar question answered. You'll get your answer faster this way. Post your question in the forum if you don't find anything that helps you.

I'd suggest calling Microsoft, since it's their product and they issue and validate the product keys.

  • Product Key needs reactivated.

We are a Microsoft Registered Refurbisher. We have refurbished a large number of Dell OptiPlex 745s over the last couple years putting on Windows 7 Home Premium.
We sold one to a customer last month - he brought it in today saying he has had to re-enter the product key every few days.  It comes up saying it may be counterfeit.
We have never run into this before - we checked all the event viewer logs and there didn't appear to be anything out of the ordinary.
Also Microsoft Secuirty Essentials turns itself off.
    Anyone have any ideas????????????????
    Thanks

You can post a diagnostic to the Windows Genuine Forums.  Here are the instructions on how to do that:
    MGA
    Diagnostic Report:
To properly analyze and solve problems with Activation and Validation, we need to see a full copy of the diagnostic report produced by the MGADiag tool (download and save to desktop -http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 )
    Once downloaded, run the tool.
Click on the Continue button, after a short time, the Continue button will change to a Copy button.
Click on the Copy button in the tool (ignore any error messages at this point), and then paste (using either r-click/Paste, or Ctrl+V ) into your post.
    One
    Issue Per Thread:
Most Activation and Validation issues look the same, on the surface, but can have many different causes and fixes. This is why we ask for a diagnostic report and this is also why we ask that you create your own thread for your issue (in other words, don't post
your issue in another person's thread).
It just becomes too complicated to try to troubleshoot multiple different issues in the same thread.
    New

Note that if you are new to these forums, you may find that you are unable to post due to a restriction on the inclusion of links and pictures.
Simply delete the only lines that contain links -  this will allow the remainder of the report to upload (and those lines are not generally

  • Retrieving Microsoft Office Product Key from Time Machine

    Hi All,
I have recently replace my hard drive with a SSD in my Mac book pro late 2011 and carried out a time machine restore, now when I try to open any microsoft office for Mac apps it is requesting my product key and I am unable to close the pop up. I no longer have the product key as I recently moved and mislaid the key is there any way of going into a previous time machine back up to retrieve the key ?
    Thanks in advance.

For the future, somewhere on your boot disk there's a Microsoft Office folder. The next time you get the product key, create a TextEdit document, enter the product key in it and save the document in the MS Office folder. If you restore from Time Machine or a backup, it'll be there. Make recording such key numbers (product keys, authorization codes, etc.) on your computer where you can find them, and you'll thank yourself down the road.
