Office support in BPC 7.5MS

Hello all,
Can anyone tell me which office versions will be supported in BPC 7.5MS
Especially information about Office 2003\2007 are both interesting for me.
I cannot find anything about this in the releasenote on ssm..
Thanks,
Alwin Berkhout

Microsoft Office 2003 or 2007
.NET Framework 2.0 (Install the .NET Framework Hotfixes by going to: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/899511)
XML 4.0 SP2 (included with the Internet Explorer software)
Pentium IV (1 GHZ CPU)
512 MB RAM
100 MB of free hard disk space in the My Documents folder
20 MB of free hard disk space for the installed Administration files
Xceedzip.dll (version 6.5)
Hope this helps.

  • What is it supported in BPC about SSIS pkg

I have some problems implementing SSIS dtsx for BPC.
A package with a sequenct container, or with a user variable to use to setting a property, or with a task to call another dtsx doesn't function!.
Does exist any technical documentation (not a user guide, please!) that describes what it is supported in BPC about SSIS dtsx?
    Many thanks.

    Craig,
You can do Partition in AS DB.
There was a bug in AS that didn't keep partititon information but it was fixed.
    Please try it.
Also you can find How to document in here.

  • Analysis for Office support multi thread?

Does Analysis for Office support multi thread/core? If so, what verison? I tried searching around this site as well as note 1466118 - Hardware & Software requirements for Analysis, edition for MS Office but was unable to find an answer.
I am on an Intel dual cpu with hyper threading turned on so it essentially looks like 4 cores. When I execute an Analysis View, I rarely see the EXCEL.EXE process go above 25% CPU utilization. I have plenty of RAM and hard drive space.
    64bit Windows 7
    32bit Office 2010
    AAO 1.3.5.2288
    Thanks

I found the following info at:
Excel 2010 Performance: Performance and Limit Improvements
Large Data Sets and 64-bit Excel
The 64-bit version of Excel 2010 is not constrained to 2 GB of RAM like 32-bit applications. Therefore, 64-bit Excel 2010 enables users to create much larger workbooks. 64-bit Windows enables a larger addressable memory capacity, and 64-bit Excel is designed to take advantage of that capacity. For example, users are able to fill more of the grid with data than was possible in previous versions of Excel. As more RAM is added to the computer, Excel uses that additional memory, allows larger and larger workbooks, and scales with the amount of RAM available.
In addition, because 64-bit Excel enables larger data sets, both 32-bit and 64-bit Excel 2010 introduce improvements to common large data set tasks such as entering and filling down data, sorting, filtering, and copying and pasting data. Memory usage is also optimized to be more efficient, in both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Excel.
    Multi-Core Processing
Additional investments were made to take advantage of multi-core processors and increase performance for routine tasks. Starting in Excel 2010, the following features use multi-core processors: saving a file, opening a file, refreshing a PivotTable (for external data sources, except OLAP and SharePoint), sorting a cell table, sorting a PivotTable, and auto-sizing a column.
For operations that involve reading and loading or writing data, such as opening a file, saving a file or refreshing data, splitting the operation into two processes increases performance speed. The first process gets the data, and the second process loads the data into the appropriate structure in memory or writes the data to a file. In this way, as soon as the first process beings reading a portion of data, the second process can immediately start loading or writing that data, while the first process continues to read the next portion of data. Previously, the first process had to finish reading all the data in a certain section before the second process could load that section of the data into memory or write the data to a file.

  • MDX Support for BPC on BW on HANA

    Hi All,
I have the following queries on MDX support for BPC on BW on HANA -
    1. What is the current state of Dimension Member formulas (or MDX) with BPC on HANA. Are they natively being evaluated within HANA?
    2. Does BPC on HANA support the same MDX features and functionalities that BPC on any other database would ? Are there any limitations here ?
    Please advise. Thanks.

  • Is Office XP no longer supported in BPC 7 MS Version?

    Hi experts,
Does anybody know if Office XP (Office 2002) is still supported in BPC7 (we're on Sp3)? The Installation guide does not mention it for the Admin and Client prerequisites but it does appear in section 7 (requirements for TS and Citrix).
On the other hand we've found that there are a few SAP Notes in which Office XP is mentioned so we're not 100% sure whether there is an omission in the documentation or either a typo.
    Thanks,
    Ibai Madariaga

    Ibai,
    Thank you for finding this.
As I know, Office XP was not tested fully for BPC 7M but for making sure. I will check it soon and will post it.
    Thank you.

  • Unable to do BPC for Office Installation via BPC Client software

    Hi,
I am trying to install "BPC for Office Installation" via the client software center. I get an error "You do not have authority to install the BPC for Office.".
I am on Windows 7 Home premium. My username is the only name on the computer and has admin rights.
I did browse through a few threads in this forum and as per the suggestions, I installed .NET 1.1 and service pack for it.
I also modified the "hosts" file in system32\drivers\etc to include the lines I need.
    IT STILL DOESNT WORK !
    PLEASE HELP!
    Regards,
    Tagz

    Thanks for your response Patrick!
I enable the Intranet option as per the note and added the website to my zone in the browser security option.
I get case 2 error as per the note. I tried going to the next step. Now it says "Not enough memory. A minimum of 64 MB of memory is required.". My computer though has 4GB memory.
    Please advice!
    Thanks,

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum- not sure where i would ask this.

Does anyone have an idea of when office 2010 will be supported?

    Please check note 1446026 http://service.sap.com/notes.
XI 3.1 will probably provide support for MS Office 2010 starting from SP4 (This is NOT XI 4.0)

  • Secure Kerberos Support in BPC v10 SP13?

    Hi guys.
I have been asked by the business to confirm that BPC supports secure (aka 'double-encrypted') Kerberos.
The only documentation I can find on this on the SAP site relates to either NW or MS version through CMS.
I will be installing using the "Windows" authentication option, so does this support encrypted Kerberos out of the box?
I am looking at BPC MS v10 SP13.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    I'm investigating the same issue.
I found some oss note about BPC MS installation with Kerberos (eg http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1961655) and some about issue resolutions.

In the meanwhile did you tried to configure BPC with kerberos?

  • MS office version in BPC server

How to know which version of excel is installaed in the BPC server MS2003 or MS2007.
Is it possible to know only from server or can we know from desktops?

Just open Excel into that server and you will know if it is 2007 or 2003 because the interfaces are different.
To know exact version you just have to go to - HELP - About Microsoft Office Excel and you will find out all the information.

  • VM support for BPC

    Hi folks,
I've been looking everywhere for some concrete guidelines, but haven't found what I needed - does anyone know whether SAP officially support BPC installs on a VM environment (whether for development or production)?
I would really like to find some official documentation that specifically mentions whether or not these scenarios are supported and/or recommended.
    Thanks very much!
    Jason

    Hi Jason,
You can find the answer to your question into SAP note 1098847.
    Hope it helps,

  • Is partitioning supported in BPC 5.1 (SQL 2005)

    Hi guys
We run BPC 5.1 SP5 on a clustered SQL 2005 environment.
I am looking in to how we can improve response times for our users and one of the suggestions is to partition the AS cube and/or the DB tables.
I am led to believe that partitioning the cube is possible, so am looking for any pointers on the best way to do that (and any ideas of what speed improvements are possible) from someone who has the knowledge.
There has been some debate internally on whether or not it is possible to partition the tables with our version of BPC.  Can anyone confirm whether or not BPC 5.1 SP5 can handle it and the best way to do it using SQL 2005?
I know it's a lot to ask, but I could really use the pointers.
    Thanks

  • Should Arch Offical support NON X Dependened App?

Arch Linux's CLI environment have been one of the Best Polished CLI environment out there. The color theme and how text are organize are simply sexy. For this reason, I chooses Arch for my Media server at home. Even though it would be ideal for me to run it without GUI, sometime I need to address the file directly in the server to check things out, like image, movie, and songs. Arch have everything for those stuff.
The one problem I find is that most of those software I run in CLI comes with some X.org Dependence. Such as, VLC, Mplayer, imagemagick, and even vim need some kind of X dependence, along with some seem very CLI focus app. I seem like a lot of Distro will also have a so call "nox" version of some software if they do supply pure CLI.
I know that you can find a few "nox" version of the softwares in AUR. But I think it would be great if Arch will supply some of those "nox" officially. After I think that suite the Arch Way pretty well. with X dependence makes the distro seem toward to Desktop usage.
    So what do you option?

  • No Office 2010 64 bit support and printer driver issues

I have been using Adobe Acrobat Pro 8 for about 2.5 years. Whenever I upgrade my laptop I usually upgrade most of the software I use including Adobe Acrobat Pro. This time I didn't see a need so I installed Acrobat Pro 8 again.
When I did, it no longer had integration with my upgraded Microsoft Office 2010. It also had an issue that every time I printed something to the Adobe PDF printer driver, the dialog box to select a filename would show up behind the application I was using (such as Firefox). Then when the PDF was generated and opened for preview, it also ended up behind the application I was printing from.
I chalked these issues up to using a version of Acrobat that came out before Windows 7 and before Office 2010. So I went out and reluctantly purchased the upgrade. All the marketing material said it was compatible with both.
Well, absolutely nothing has changed. It still doesn't work with Office 2010 because I'm using Office 2010 64bit, and still opens the dialogs behind the application I'm printing from. Almost every laptop comes with Windows 7 64bit and using Office 2010 64bit should not be something I can't do just to get support from an Adobe product.
If there is any workaround for the Adobe dialogs coming up behind the application I'm trying to print from, I'd love to hear it. I would have happily asked Adobe for a solution but I guess they don't offer any type of email support, chat support, or phone support unless you pay through the nose. Or maybe I just didn't see any way after clicking through all the screens under Help on their website.

For 7.0 and 7.5 it will not be supported. It will be supported for BPC 10.
