Office WebApps Open in Client Default Behaviour

I have an issue with my SharePoint farm that pops up intermittently with default open behaviour.
We have around 20 site collections and 6000 users.
Office WebApps in installed in our farm, however the default on all sites is set so that documents open in the client application (Word, Excel, etc)
Even though this is set, we have a few users who still complain that the web client opens the document by default.
I'm aware this can be caused by using the 64-bit version of IE instead of the the 32-bit version. But in most cases users are actually using the 32-bit version.

Are your users using the 64bit version of Office? The Office integration features will not work with 64 bit anything.
For the users with the issues, check their permissions and Permission Levels to see if they have the "Open Items : View the source of documents with server-side file handlers" permission.

In Lion, the default of pressing a link on a web page, is to open the page in a new tab. In itself, I do like this because this is what I did for 19 out of any 20 links, which I command+clicked in previous Safari versions.
However, there is a snag to this behaviour. Most (all?) secure site do not like links to be opened in a new tab. For example, when I am doing Web banking, The the linked page doesn’t open in new tab. Rather I get a page telling me my login session is expired. Probably a security measure instituted by my bank.
I since found out, that a command-click opens lings in the same window. Theoretically that solves the problem, if I would think about this all the time. I don't. Old habits die slowly.
Is there a terminal command to make links open in same window the default behaviour, as it was in Safari 5.0.

I got it figured out today, basically you have to load the Parallel Flash Loader first into FPGA ram. It is a special .sof file (pfl_epXXXX.sof) based on your FPGA. Code is actually pretty straight forward, using the Sys Exec VI. Use the windows based programmer to generate the .cdf file that identifies your FPGA, attached Flash and .pof file .
Syntax was odd going into Sys Exec. Note the extra "C" in in front of the "quartus_prm.exe" I have no idea why that was needed, but I was getting an error until I just happened to put it in there (Blind Luck :-))
I used a 2 element array going into a four loop
cmd /cquartus_pgm.exe -c USB-BLASTER -m JTAG -o P;pfl_epXXXX.sof
cmd /cquartus_pgm.exe -c USB-BLASTER -m JTAG S_FPGA.cdf
Defining the working director C:\altera\12.1sp1\qprogrammer\bin
And added match string with "Successfully performed operation" on the output in the loop to make sure everything loaded correctly then adding the array to give me a overall P/F
To anyone doing this same thing Altera's documentation is poor to say the least. It took most of a week to figure this out Not allowed to upload code, so anyone wanting details just post here and I will try to help. This was painful, with lots of lessons learned.

Word opening in Client Application in SharePoint document library when feature is not activated in manage features in site collection

Hello, I wish for all Word documents to open in the browser for my SharePoint document library on my team site.
The feature 'open in client application' is not activated in Features for the site collection and the setting in the document library is set on 'Use the server default (open in the browser)
When I select File > new> from the ribbon in the document library - it still opens Word in the client application?
Any ideas on this?
Is there a general Office 365 setting over riding SharePoint somewhere?

Okie don't open up a ticket. Can you please open internet explorer...See if its the latest version. Once you have done that can you login to the SharePoint site. Then go to the internet wheel option in top right corner > select manage add on >
Click on toolbars and extensions on left > then click on SharePoint open documents in client and disable it. Close the browser completely now for the changes to take effect. Open internet explorer once again and then try to go to site collection click on
file and create new. The word will open up in browser now. This has to be done on each and every machine in your firm so that users will be able to open up only in browser. Out of the box there is only one way is to customize the ribbon and remove the new
option from there or creating an all together new ribbon for your SharePoint from visual studio.

Document library open in client application not working for img,pdf,txt files

In an office 365 sharepoint site i have enabled open in client applicartion for document library but it is not working for image/txt/pdf files for word and excel files it is working fine. I have even turned on the feature open document in client application
by default from site collection features also but there is no change.
Please advice.

The feature is currently designed to be used with HTTPS, and will not work as expected with the HTTP connection available on Office 365 for professionals and
small businesses sites.
To take advantage of this update, do the following steps:
Wait for the update to the SharePoint Online service, which is in progress now.
Upgrade Adobe Reader to the version 10.1.2 client.
Add your SharePoint Online root URL/domain to the Trusted Sites security zone in Internet Explorer1 (e.g.,
https://contoso.sharepoint.com).
Check the Keep me signed in box when you log in to a SharePoint Online site.
This

being rolled out worldwide along with several other new features.

MS Office changed Open With

The file "Open With" option for pdf files was changed by MS Office to open all files with Outlook (it was an operator error - mine ) but my problem is that I can't change it back. The image on the icon shows office and not the standard pdf file icon. I tried several ways into the Open With option setting and nothing works. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Acrobat reader to see if that would allow me to reset to the default but no help. I can open the files individually by clicking on the icon and selecting OpenWith Acrobat but I would like to be able to ID pdf's and make Acrobat the default for the files.
I tried several MS forums and no help there either. Can anyone here help me?

System: Windows 8, Professional. LabVIEW 2011 SP1.
Abnormal behaviour and steps to reproduce:
Above mentioned VI doesn't work when LabVIEW was started with administrator privilegies. And it works as expected when LabVIEW running in normal (non-administrator) mode.

Unfortunately LabVIEW 2011 SP1 does not support Windows 8. I tested this behavior with LabVIEW 2012 SP1 on Windows 8 and everything worked correctly.

Powerpoint Office Webapps Exception.

Are your Alternate Access Mappings configured propertly?
The URL of your site must be present in the AAM collection for the web application that hosts the PowerPoint you're trying to edit in browser.

MP-BGP Router Reflectot (RR) Default Behaviour

Hi All,
I have a 7206VXR configured like RR for MPBGP (Afi/safi 1/128 L3VPN rfc 2547Bis).
My RR is configured with different peer-group towards its clients (PE).
I'd like to konw what is the RR's default behaviour when it receives an updata message type 'withdrawal' by its client.
I've observed that:
- When a PE send its update (withdrawal), it receive back by RR all its bgp table...with a lot NLRI that my PE doesn't need..Is it a normal behaviour?
- When a PE send its update (withdrawal), it receives back by RR its own update..I think that this is a normal behaviuor since he is configured within a peer-group on RR. Is it correct?

Hello I'm trying to configure a lab with 4 7600-sup32-3b 12.2(2)-33.SRC. 2 of them as P routers and the rest as PE. P's are Route Reflector and PE are route reflector clients. If I create the same VRF in both PE routes are note not advertised between PEs.(show ip route vrf lab). Please could you give me a configuration example or a link where I could take a look.

Client Agent behaviour after device deletion

Hi experts,
quick question on client behaviour:
I've installed a client successfully and the client has registered as active in ConfigMgr (2012 SP1 CU2). Now someone went ahead and deleted the device from ConfigMgr. On the client, I can still retrieve policies from the MP and the client agent itself works
fine (correct site, all actions are there, all logs are fine). Now for the but: it doesn't re-register itself in ConfigMgr.
Is this default behaviour because the device was manually deleted from ConfigMgr? Or could this be an error?

Okay. The device in question was found to be in ConfigMgr twice as Unknown. Deleted both Unknown Devices and am currently waiting for the client to re-register.

Unable to open personal folder default

Recently, Microsoft Outlook displays a message "Unable to open personal folder default", pressing buttons <OK> outlook closes. But if you move the Outlook.pst file when you start outlook can't find a personal folder file, and asks for help.
Shows him to move files and outlook works fine, but before the first shutdown. Then, after another run outlook again it can not open the personal folders used by default. Maybe try some pst file reader? Tried to reinstall the office - nothing.

Well. Does the DL have more than 5000 contacts in it? If so, that may cause a problem due to Exchange's 5000 recipient limit for sent emails.
Where is personal distrubution list stored in your scenario? Stored in OST and sync with mailbox, or backup in the local PST file?
If other contact groups and contacts can be opened just fine, it seems the issue may occur if the problematic contact groups is corrupted itself.
You can take a chance to open it via MFCMAPI tool. If it even cannot be open, I think it cannot be recovered unless we do a single mailbox recovery.

By default Mac apps do not close when you close the window you were working in. Unlike in Windows when you click the top right X icon in any program is closes the window and the program shuts down. On Mac OS X clicking the X in the top left hand corner only closes that windows and leave the program running in the background. If they are left open and you reboot they will restart with the system and load a window for them.

If you offer a PDF to the end user, they usually know what to do with it. OTOH, if you wish to provide software to facilitate the local printing, you might launch an application on the client side that accesses the JNLP API's PrintService - that can be done in a sandboxed application.
A signed application might access the normal J2SE based print services. Though I heard that Sun had decided to make printing a 'prompt on first attempt' deal - even for sandboxed apps., from 1.5 plus (or was it 1.6 plus?).
It would be a serious security bug if a web site could print on the client printer, without trust or active involvement from the end user.

Print Reports on Client Default Printer

Hi All,
I am using Oracle Reports 11g Release 2 (11.1.2.2.0).
I want to print oracle reports from ADF which is JEE base framework on client default printer. I am send just plane url to generate report to report server. In Oracle forms we have option to get job id of report, but in plain url i am not seeing any thing like that. In forms in am generating PDF wait untill job is finished and then send pdf to client printer by using job id.
How it will be possible by using plain URL send to report server or any other idea to achieve this task.

Why does mountain lion "bunch up" all my microsoft office documents that I have open when I hit f3? When I had snow leopard for example, if i had 4 or 5 different microsoft office documents open at the same time I could hit f3 and easily pick one of them

Notice how in the photo, I can't identify which MS office document I would like to switch too. Perhaps since the Dashboard and Desktop windows are at the top of my screen now Apple doesn't let you have all the applications take up the full screen and be sized individually so that you can have a better idea on what to pick.
I like the idea of grouping to an extent... If you have a bunch of random things it was hard for me to decifer between what was safari, chrome, or word. But now that they grouped them like this, if you have multiple pages of one program running, you can't switch between those pages easily like before.

If I wanted to open any of my Applework documents I had to open them one at a time and resave them with pages. This could take weeks.I have 1000s of apple work documents.
You don't have to open and re-save every AppleWorks document you have right now. Just wait till you need one, then do it. The documents aren't going anywhere.
Am I dealing with Microsoft? This was a BIG surprise to me that Apple would release an OS without testing all programs.
Frankly, it is not Apple's responsibility to ensure compatibiltiy with every piece of software available for OS X. That is the responsibility of the software vendor. Lion has been available to developers for several months before it's release, so Microtek had plenty of time to update their software. Yet they did not. How is that Apple's fault? I think Apple was very generous to give you a refund for Lion.
I'm not trying to belittle your frustration but I do think your ire is misplaced.
