I have the same username and password for my Apple account and iCloud. My main email server is btinternet. When I try to share a photo by sending an email by iCloud I get a message "Server doesn't recognize username/password combination". Do I need to login to iCloud with my btinternet password?
Seeing others with same problem I have gone into iPhoto>Preferences>Accounts and changed password to btinternet password. It worked. Thanks.

I bought a new Macbook pro in 02/26/2013 from Apple Canadian Ices -003. Than I could not use it, because my cursor uncontrollably was jumping around the screen, I was resumed my trackpad become bulging, Than on11/25/ 2013 they changed my trackpad for free, because was manufactoring defect, but not the bulging battery. They said that is do not needed. Since that my cursor is quiet often quivering, I think my Macbook has serious manufacturing defect. But they said no, during a year period I went to the genius bar at least 15 times, with this and similar problems. I went there yesterday, with different problems, and they said one of the screws came off from my truck pad, therefore they need to fix it and change it. I said: - What, how, what is the real problem? A screw does not comes off just like that? They will change my trackpad again, but not the battery. They said has to rebuild the operation system, I'm saving all of my data right now! I would like to exchange the battery too, or maybe get a new Macbook. My Macbook is 2010 China model. How long I would have this trackpad problem? What are you suggesting?
If it's a 2010 as you say towards the end of your post, it's out of warranty. The battery isn't covered in that case. Why don't you just buy a new battery if that's your concern? If it's a 2013 as you say up at the top, it shouldn't have a bulging battery. How do you know it does? If it really does, ask for the store manager and explain the problem.

Firmware update was done on my MacBook Air while connected to power source and now I cannot start up. It keeps shutting down. Any ideas??
Start by doing an SMC reset http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964 and see if that resolves it.

My MacBook Air is very slow. Every time I click the mouse, the spinning wheel appears and remains for up to 30 seconds before the screen changes. This has been happening the past 24 hours. Any ideas?
First, back up all data immediately, as your boot drive may be failing.
If you have more than ten or so files or folders on your Desktop, move them, temporarily at least, somewhere else in your home folder.
If iCloud is enabled, disable it.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except keyboard, mouse, and monitor, if applicable. Launch the usual set of applications you use when you notice the problem.
Step 1
Launch the Activity Monitor application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ If you’re running Mac OS X 10.7 or later, open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Activity Monitor in the page that opens.
Select the CPU tab of the Activity Monitor window.
Select All Processes from the menu in the toolbar, if not already selected.
Click the heading of the % CPU column in the process table to sort the entries by CPU usage. You may have to click it twice to get the highest value at the top. What is it, and what is the process? Also post the values for % User, % System, and % Idle at the bottom of the window.
Select the System Memory tab. What values are shown in the bottom part of the window for Page outs and Swap used?
Step 2
You must be logged in as an administrator to carry out this step.
Launch the Console application in the same way as above. Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left.
Post the 50 or so most recent messages in the log — the text, please, not a screenshot.
Important: Some personal information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Edit it out before posting. -

Your boot drive is damaged in some way. If you have an original installation disc, you can boot from that and run Disk Utility. From DU you can select your internal hard drive ("Macintosh HD" is the name Apple puts on it - you may have renamed yours) and select "Verify Disk". If errors come up, try "Repair Disk". If it repairs, then you should be able to restart and boot from it. If it doesn't show up or won't repair, your drive is probably hosed.

my iPad was stolen in brazil. i cannot get the manufacturer id number from my iPhone or my macbook air....they are all linked together though. any suggestions on how and if i can possibly retrieve this and thus locate the device? thanks julie
Launch iTunes, go to the Preferences, select Devices, and hover your cursor over the backup file for the iPod. That should show you the serial number, IMEI, and possibly the MEID.
The manufacturer ID will not help you locate the iPad, though. If you set up the Find My iPad service in the Settings prior to the iPad going missing, then there is a chance that can be tracked, though it depends on a number of factors (the iPad is turned on, connected to a WiFi or 3G network, and has not had the Find My iPad service disabled or the iPad been completely restored).
If you did not set up Find My iPad, then there is no way to track it. Contact the police and change any passwords for any online accounts you may have used from your iPad (the iTunes Store, for instance).

how do I connect my new (purchased last week) macbook air to my samsung smart tv? I purchased the adapter at the apple store and connected to the TV via HDMI cable. The TV says "no signal. I do not see TV as an option in the display tab of system preferences. what else do I need to do?
First, make sure your TV is tuned to display the correct input signal. Most TVs have several inputs (multiple HDMIs, cable connections, RCA etc) so double-check that you're using the correct one - HDMI1, HDMI2 or whatever is written next to the port.
I assume that you have a mini-Displayport to HDMI adaptor? If you open displays preferences, first tick the box that says "show display preferences in menu bar" then locate the menu and click Detect Displays. See if that helps.

Okay, I did my best searching and I couldn't find anything that matched all your descriptors. I did do a search on both decoder numbers. SB0256 returned very little results, but with SB0466, I was able to find this ebay listing:

This card isn't a Champion like you suggested. And with my complete lack of knowledge, I don't know what I/O dri've bay means. But since it is PCI and the decoder matches the number you gave me, this card should be adequete, right?
Whether it works or not, my search indicated it might be very hard for me to find that card (or any PCI card for that matter). Everything I saw was out of stock. I know this is a forum for Creative, but are there any other manufacturers that will allow me to accomplish my goal, either with current cards, or discontinued cards? Thanks again

Facetime between iPad2 and MacBook Air worked fine here in the USA. The iPad2 is now in Rome, Italy and we can't connect internationally. We both can hear the caller ringing in and can see who is trying to call, but after accepting the call we cannot connect. No voice, no video. iPad is successfully sending and receiving eMails, but no Factime connection What's up?
I am curious if possibly the hotel has some sort of VOIP block on. Have you tried Skype? Did you talk to the hotel staff? My husband is traveling to Milan in a couple of days and I wonder if he will run into the same issue. He has had no problems from Istanbul but he is staying in a corporate apartment there. I burned some files onto a DVD-R disc using my MacBook Air.
I did it by dropping the files onto the DVD icon in Finder and burned it right there.
If I put the dics into my DVD Player, it plays just fine. If I insert it into a computer, it opens the disc like a memory stick or something: I can open the files, but it won't play via Macs DVD Player. When I transferred my data from a 128GB Macbook Air to 256GB Macbook Air (brand new version as of 9/1/13) I end up with 188GB used! I add up the size of Users, System, Library and Applications and it comes to 90GB. What am I missing? How did I "use" up so much space in migrating from one Mac to another?
Did you use the Setup Assistant available at the beginning of the new machine's setup process? Or did you use Migration Assistant later after you had set up the new machine?
If you used Migration Assistant, you generally wind up with two accounts (the new one you set up on the new machine plus the old one you ported over) - that may explain your excessive use of space. In that case, you can either manually combine/remove all unnecessary duplicate files, or you can start over by using Command + R, wiping your drive, and downloading the OS. Once it's downloaded, use the Setup Assistant offered at the beginning of the install/setup process. -
macbook froze while online. hard shutdown. when it restarted, an error message appeared saying finder shut down unexpectedly containing a message box with a long list of technical jibberish. after clicking OK that it would send an error report to Apple, the same error message box appeared again and again every time OK was clicked. Safe mode is slower than normal, and some things won’t work at all.
