OfficeExtend AP OEAP602 not coming up on home network
I have an OfficeExtend solution working with 20 or so AP's and a 5508 in the DMZ. I've recently had a couple AP's that I configured and tested over an internet connection, but when I sent them out to the users they don't join the WLC. In fact, the users go to the admin interface of their home router and the router doesn't even recognize that a device is there. The users can plug a PC into the same port on the router and get to the internet with no problem. The last one that had this issue was using a Netgear WNDR4500 home router and AT&T DSL. I know the AP worked before I sent it out and about 15 OEAP's are working on the controller fine so I believe it's a quirk with the home router and/or internet connection. Any advice?
Thanks,
Curt B.
Refer to the following documentation for proper configuration :-
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/controller/7-5/config_guide/b_cg75/b_cg75_chapter_01101011.html
Note: - Make sure ports are open on firewall for OEAP and WLC that is CAPWAP UDP 5246 and 5247 . Further more use OEAP as local mode first then change to OEAP after successful join. You can use capwap debug if you are stuck in the middle of the way also.

HT4972 The Wi-fi on my iPhone 4 does not connect to my home network or other networks
The Wi-fi on my iPhone 4 does not connect to my home network or other networks that I have used in the past. I noticed this after I updated to version 6. I have tried to reset network settings ;turn off and on wi-fi; reset home network and it's still not working. Is there a fix for this problem?
Try resetting your network settings. Go to General\Reset\Reset Netork Settings. Sometimes this will fix things. If not, what type of router do you have, what network are you running (B, G, N, etc.).,
Good luck! -
My new IPhone 5 does not pick up my home network. My wife's new Iphone 5 has no such issue.I get a message "unable to connect' although the correct network appears.Never get to the prompt screen asking for my network password.Keeps trying to connect but never does.Have switched on /off button and turnesd off phone back on several times.

Recently purchased iPad Mini. Downloaded iOS 6.0.1. Could not get it to connect to Home WiFi using Linksys G Router. Have another Wifi Network in Home (CenturyLink provided it as a DSL/Router combo). Would not connect (nor would my iPhone 4s or my wife's iPhone 4) until I accessed the router's setting and changed to broadcast on Channel 6 and then IPad connected. I suspect the only reason the iPhone were still connected to the Linksys network is that they were before I "upgraded to iOS 6. Even after 6.0.2 the iPad and both iPhones will not connect to some home networks (its random) although thye will connect to public networks e.g. McDonald's, Panera, etc.

Hello AriJR,
Thanks for the question, that definitely sounds frustrating. Are you able to isolate the issue further (i.e. does the iPhone connect to other good-known Wi-Fi networks?)

Error 0x00000709 Networked printer not working in a home network with HomeGroup enabled.
I should start by describing my network by device.
Gateway device - Motorola SB5120 SURFboard cable modem
Router/WAP device - Linksys Wireless G Broadband Router with 4 port Switch Model: WRT54G v4 Security: WPA2 with firewall.
Windows 7 Ultimate Desktop with Homegroup enabled (Printer driver installed & ethernet wired)
Windows 7 Pro Laptop set to homegroup for the Desktop (Ethernet wired and Wireless depending on the situation)
Windows 7 Home set to homegroup for the Desktop (Wireless)
Brother Printer Model: HL-2170W (Wireless)
HP Printer Model: HP Officejet 6500A Plus (Wireless)
What have I done?
Installed drivers on 2 of the 3 computers. The final computer (Win7 Home) was added in later and works fine when connecting to the internet through the WAP. However it does not even find the printer when trying to install the driver which is a part of the
process for driver installation for the Brother Printer.
I had set up the printer for two of the three computers and had it working at one time however in trying to get the printer set up for the final computer I somehow have messed up those settings.
During that setup I tried to move the printer to a networked printer (It was shared before and installed on the network with both the Desktop and the Win7Pro lappy able to print but it would not print for the new arrival to the Homenetwork. This caused
me to seek a solution which involved installing the proper driver in the Win7Home and the discovery that the driver installer could not find the Brother printer at all which prompted the moving of the printer to a networked printer.) (The Win7Home computer does
not find the HP printer either but that is a can of worms yet unopened.)
I am sure there are a few things that I did not do correctly and I may have left out some additional information which you may require. If I can help clarify this question please feel free to query me. I thank you in advance for your time and consideration.
HHHi,
May I know that are these two network printer with network adapter? If they are installed on the network, you could add them and install the drivers for Windows 7.

Macbook not access work or home networks with wep key
I have just purchased a Macbook. It is to be used for work and home purposes. The work network is a given, and can not be changed. It requires a wep key that is 26 charcters long. When I input this via the Network instructions on my Macbook, it is not recognized. I have tried putting the prefix '$' in front, and '0x', and '0X' and placing in '"' (double quotes) and NO LUCK! I can't get into the network. This is no issue with multiple Windows PC's that I have. I can also access via pocket PC, and Cingular 8125 smartphone, but not Macbook.
At home, I can not access my network, a 2wire router, without disabling the wep key. Not acceptable. I have 2 Windows PC's that work fine on this network, with a 13 character wep key. Have tried the $ and all the other hints and no luck.
Suggestions please! I purchased this Macbook to be able to show that it could be a more reliable and productive machine, working in the office environment. So far, can't get into the office environment!
Thanks
Macbook Mac OS X (10.4.6)Ok, some progress, but not in yet. I was able to "connect", but have no Internet connection. On the "Network Diagnostics", I have a green light for "AirPort", "Airport Settings", "Network Settings", BUT I have a red light for "ISP", "Internet" and "Server". I checked by "Sharing" settings, and have the Firewall On, since I know that the company requires such (tried with it off, and same status). Are there some ports I need to open? What other steps do I need to take to get beyond "connected" and really access the internet??
Thanks, -
Firefox keeps freezing in office, but not in other public/home network
Firefox keeps freezing starting from yesterday in my office wireless network. When it is opened, the browser screen does not show up, I have to right click on the icon in order to have the screen brought up. Search bar and tab functions respond real slow. However, everything works perfectly fine in public and my home network.
I'd really appreciate your input and help. The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information.
Note: ''This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.''
To Reset Firefox do the following:
#Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
#Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
#Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
#Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.

Airport Extreme Card (will not automatically connect to home network)
Running OSX (10.4.7) on a G5 2.0 DualCore. I just had an Airport Extreme Card installed by Apple a week ago. Everything was working fine with WiFi ( I use a Lynksys Router. But oddly now when I cold boot up, the Airport Extreme will not automatically connect to my home network. The little Airport icon on the upper right is always greyed out ( even though clicking on the icon... says that Airport is "On" ). So I now have to manually select my home network everytime I boot up. The first week or so though, I didn't have to do this...it just automtically connected to my home network. I made no changes to the router settings, nor the Network prefs.
I have been able to get my home network running with simultaneous access to the internet with the MacMini and the PB G4 via a WL router (Netgear WGR614v4 with four ethernet ports).
This was the process:
1a) Turned off airport on both computers.
1b) Turned off both compters and
1c) disconnected the router from the cable modem.
a) Disconnected ethernet cable from WL router to Macmini.
2b) Powered down the router for 10 seconds.
3a) Keeping both computers unpowered, repowered router and pressed the reset button (behind an unmarked tiny hole in the back of the router) then re-connected it to cable modem. Waited 30 - 40 seconds until internet service lights flickered green.
3b) Reconnected ethernet cable to MacMini and turned on power for MacMini. No Airport running. With administrator privilege I configured in Syst. Prefs. "Sharing" folder Internet access using "Built in Ethernet" port for computers running "Airport".
4) Turned Airport network on in MacMini and started browser.
Result: Internet connection established.
5a) Powered up PB G4 and then turned Airport on.
5b) In Syst. Prefs. in "Sharing" folder turned Internet Sharing off. But set "Share your connection from Airport" to computers using: Airport with check-mark. (No Built-in Ethernet and no Built-in FireWire!)
5c)Started browser. Result: Internet connection established.
6a) In the Finder window of both computers I clicked on "Go" in toolbar and looked for the name of the other computer, which were listed as alias besides the "Library" and "Servers" aliases. Clicking on the computer alias brought up the 'Networked Globe' and a control button "Connect".
6b) Clicking on "Connect" brought up the mounted drive of the other computer.
Result: Wireless network operational.
PS: I don't dare yet using encryption for the airport network. That's for another day.

Today my ipad will not connect to my home network
new ipad air, set it up fine and used it with my home network 2 days ago. Charged it last night and now will niot let me connect to my home network. I did reboot
Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
• Launch Settings app
• Tap on Wi-Fi
• Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

Airport on my Macbook will no longer connect to my internet network at home. I was on campus using my university's network today and now Airport only wants to connect to it and will not change back to my home network. It has something to do with the 802.1X, and I don't know enough about networks to know what that does. Is there someway I can just reset my entire airport settings to where it would be like the first time I used my Macbook and configured it to my home network?

Did you Shut Down the Mac and then power it back up? Can you connect to your home network now if you click the fan shaped AirPort icon at the top of the Mac's screen?
If your home network name does not appear, click Join Other Network, then click Show Networks.
Click the name of the network that you want to join and enter the password if required

Devices not showing up on home network
I have a home network that includes a Mac Mini hooked up to our TV, MPB, MB, iPhone, and iPod Touch. The Mac Mini is my media hub. I have home sharing turned on, so that in a perfect world, I could watch my iTunes library on my phone, etc. Additionally, I often use the "Remote" app on my phone to control iTunes on the big screen.
The problem is that sometimes my phone can connect to the mini, sometimes it can't. Sometimes the MPB sees the MB, or the Mini, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes restarting the router solves the problem, sometimes it doesn't. Basically, sometimes any or all of the devices can see each other, and sometimes they can't. Durring all of this, connection to the internet is always working.
Any advice would really help.I am pleased it is sorted

It's possible your wi-fi router needs to be reset, or the firmware needs to be updated.

action i have taken
1) Set the evryone group permission in system admininstration.
Is this issue related to uploadding initialpermissions.xml file.
Solution to the above problem:
we have to use the usr which is created in frontend(portal) so that we can avoid this type of display problems.
Reason: The user created in the backend is not consistent from portal point of view so if you want to navigate the portal use the user which is created from portal.
