Officejet 4500 G510g-m | Windows 7 Driver Installation Problems

Hello!
I've just purchased a new Acer Aspire One 722 laptop running on Windows 7 64-bit for work and I'm having some problems getting it to play nice with the all-in-one at work. The model is an Officejet 4500 G510g-m and though I still have the CD, it seems to be of little help. Whenever I run any of the HP diagnostic tools, they attempt to download the full software suite (I assume, since it's the same 373MB package) and extract it, only to go back to step one of discovering the device and starting the download all over again.
I have tried running the Solution Center installer directly from the disk, at which point I get the 2732 error. I've uninstalled and reinstalled Flash to attempt to circumvent that error to no success. I have downloaded both the basic and the full driver suite from the HP site and attempted installation multiple times, using the scrubber in between to ensure a clean slate. I've copied the files from the CD to my computer and tried to install more directly, with exactly the same results, yet the printer continues to show up as problematic under the "Printers and Devices" window, troubleshooting which just returns me to the endless cycle of downloading a driver that seems to not want to install.
At this point, I haven't the faintest clue what's causing the problem, so I'd greatly appreciate any insights!
Thanks for your time in advance.

Hey Kyramor,
If you visit this link you can find the print and scan driver without the full feature software:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?cc=us&dlc=en&lang=en&lc=en&product=3919449&
This installation via this method.
Hope this helps!

  • Officejet 4500 g510g-m won't print

Officejet 4500 G510g-m; Windows 7 Pro 64bit; USB Connection; Unit worked great on my old computers running XP Pro 32bit;  Bought new desktop and laptop-now same problem on both computers;   I hope Shlomil is available.  I am having the same problem outlined by zax5 on 2-14-14.  I've downloaded and installed the full version software from hp, connecting the printer when instructed, but when I attempt to print, the printer indexes the blank sheet to the middle of the page (not the top??) and stops.  The que initially shows the print job but after the paper indexes, the que says the jobs complete, but nothing printed and the page never indexes out of the printer.  I am able to see ink levels. Fax works, don't know about scan yet.  There is a patch referenced in the other post:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?product=3919449&lc=en&cc=us&docname=c03030583
but when I click on it I get an Error 404, Page not Found.  I emptied the temp file, but it didn't help.  Any ideas?

OK since my first message I've tried running the print & scan doctor, and hp printer diagnostic tool,  following all instructions, cycling power on the printer, uninstalling, deleting temp file entries, doing selective startup, reinstalling, updating, everything I can think of, still to no avail.  Upon completion of install, message says install completed successfully but when I try to print anything, the printer indexes the paper to the middle of the page (not the top??) and stops.  Que says job pending until paper index, then indicates job complete, but nothing ever prints and the display on the unit continues to say "Printing".  Does anyone have any suggestions?  I'm at my end and thinking maybe its just time to buy a non-HP product to avoid the issue.

  • I can't seem to use the wireless connection to connect from my macpro to hp officejet 4500 g510g-m

Hi, I don't know how to connect my hp officejet 4500 g510g-m to my mac book pro. can anyone help me? i can't seem to find the ip address for the printer. this can be connected wireless right? it wasn't connected to the modem. it is okay?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
The Officejet 4500 support ethernet connection only, using wired network connection.
Only the 4500 Wireless model provide wireless connectivity.
Please make sure to connect the printer to your router, then it should become available from the Mac.
For any further issue, please clarify what router you are using.

  • Able to send fax, but cannot receive fax... I have a HP Officejet 4500 G510g-m fax

Officejet 4500 G510g-m (fax)... I am able to send faxes out without a hitch, but cannot receive... When someone is trying to send me a fax, the machine rings and I can view the fax number but nothing comes thru ... I also made sure that "my device" had the correct device checked... any suggestions

    Hello @Gibbs715,
    Welcome to the HP forums.
I  understand that you are having a problem receiving faxes.
    I would like to help.
Double check that the 'Auto Answer' is turned on.
Press the Setup button () on the control panel of the product.
Press the Right Arrow button () to select Fax Settings, and then press OK.
Press the Right Arrow button () to select Answer Options, and then press OK.
Press the Right Arrow button () to select Auto Answer, and then press OK.
Press the Right Arrow button () to select On, and then press OK.
Have you ran a fax diagnostic test?
Load plain white paper into the tray.
    Press the Setup button ().
Press the Right Arrow () to select Tools, and then press the OK button.
Press the Right Arrow () to select Run Fax Test, and then press the OK button. The product displays the status of the test and prints a report.
Also, if there is a voicemail service on your phone line, it could be intercepting the fax and preventing the 4500 form receiving the fax.

  • How long does it take to download and install full feature software for Officejet 4500 g510g-m?

I have been updating my software in hopes I can get my Officejet 4500 g510g-m to work wirelessly but the full feature software has been at the "installing software" stage for over an hour. Is this normal? Also, anyone know where I can find a step by step guide on setting up my printer for wireless use? Is it even possible?

The download speed is dependent on many things, but is often a factor of your Internet provider's service.  If you are on basic DSL, then over an hour is not out of line.  If you are on cable, something is wrong.

  • HP Officejet 4500 G510g windows 7 64 bit impossible to download working driver from HP

    Hi
I am connecting to an HP officejet 4500 with no installation discs.   I have been trying to download driver from HP .  All the installations just advise tht it has stopped working.  I have downloaded the correct drivers from HP website using Chrome and IE but same issues.   It would appear that HP just do not have any "working drivers" available for this printer.
I am aware that I need to not have the usb cable attached when installing the driver.  I have now tried installing same driver so many times now maybe I need to uninstal the previous driver instal attempts.
Either way, the HP printer ran out of warrenty Nov 2011 so I cannot chat direct to HP but guess could call them at a cost but just to get a working driver this should not be necessary.
The Product code of the printer appears to be CB867A.
Any advice much appreciated as otherwise it will have to go in the bin and never HP again.
    Cheers

    Hi John,
First of all, click the start button and type %temp% within the search box.
    Open the listed Temp folder.
Remove any of this folder's contrent by clicking CTRL + A and then the Delete key.
Any of this contect is a temporary content and can be deleted with no issues.
Next run the OJ4500vG510g_m_Full_13-en.exe once again.
Once the error appears again, run the patch as you listed on your previous post once again.
If it still points to the A-F folder, open the newly created HP folder within the same Temp folder, copy its path and paste it into the patch once it shows the installation path and check for any change.
Please let me know if that may help,

  • Windows 7 Installation problem: "no drives were found, click to load driver..."

I just purchased a Toshiba Satellite laptop (U945-S4140) that came with windows 8. I am trying to install windows 7 enterprise 64 bit.
I have the installation file on a bootable USB stick. In order to boot from the USB, I have to go into the BIOS settings and change from UEFI to CSM boot mode. Then the computer will boot from the usb stick and the windows 7 installation begins to work fine.
However, I soon get an error message that "no drives were found. click to load driver to provide a mass storage driver for installation."
I cannot figure out how to proceed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers

I have tried many solutions....Maybe I should provide more details on my options.
Through my university I am granted the rights & license to use a copy on windows enterprise. From them I obtained a valid product key and also downloaded an ISO install file. It seems as if this file was designed to be burned to a dvd. I used windows 7 usb/dvd tool to burn the ISO file to a DVD. No problem there. However, my new laptop does not have an optical drive. So, I borrowed an external one that plugs in via USB. Again, in order to get ANYTHING to happen, I need to boot the USB(dvd rive) in CSM mode. Even then, it doesn't work. (I'm sorry but I forget the specific error I got here.....there have been so many methods and so many errors today)
Now, with this DVD, I have had a little bit of progress if I click the setup.exe file while Windows 8 is running. It begins the Windows 7 setup program, and even sees the harddrive! It asks me what partition I want to install to, and I selected the only 1 (of 4) that it said was 'available' to write to. Then, it loaded the installation files, but when it went to automatically restart, it froze during the 'starting windows' screen just as the little colored circles appear, that eventually form the windows logo. Again, I think the problem here might have been that during the restart, it looked to the USB-DVD drive, which needs CSM mode to boot properly, but Windows 8 can only start in UEFI mode.
Any attempt to put this ISO file onto a USB stick have not worked well. I used Rufus and the only thing that slightly worked was burning the ISO to the USB stick with a 'GPT partition scheme for UEFI controller' with the 'FAT32' file system. When using this to boot, I did not have to change the BIOS to CSM mode. The screen for 'loading files' came up like the installer was going to work. However, the computer then froze during the 'Starting Windows' screen, however, this time the little circles actually were able to form the windows logo. But, at that point I was left with a pulsing windows logo and it was stuck. It did not even make it to the actual installer.
The situation I posted about originally is slightly different. Some tech guys at my department's electronic shop have a bootable USB stick with the windows 7 enterprise installation software already on it. I used that and was at least able to get a little bit into the windows 7 setup before it told me it cannot find a disk to install to (as in my original post).

Hello Maxxpower33, thank you for your words.
I looked through the error logs that could be generated from the tool and found this one which may be what you experienced.  Kindly let me know if this is what you got:
"Files copied successfully. However, we were unable to run bootsect to make the USB device bootable. If you need assistance with bootsect, please click the "Online Help" link above for more information."
Some further information is that I found this post where another user experienced the same error on a laptop, although the speculation mentioned in the post is that the user does not have a Windows store account under which he purchased the license for Windows
7 Home Premium, which is the flavor he was trying to get on the bootable drive.  However, this does not seem to be a valid response due to the fact that the tool does not check Windows XAuthCert Servers for validation on licensing.  So ignore that
portion of the post, but the 2nd post helps a bit by linking to another article, providing both below.
    Forum Port With Same Error
Article with 4 methods to create
a bootable Windows 7 USB Drive
In that first post, further down, is another reply to a tool that I have not tested with.  So please use caution on this one as I cannot find very much feedback other than on their own website, but sounds much like the first tool I mentioned in my first
post "Unetbootin", but this one is called Rufus, and two people did mention they had good success with this tool after having difficulties with the Windows utility.
    Rufus
After all that is said and done, there is not 1 tool that will work for everyone all of the time on every environment.  Why?  I would like to know also...but speculate hardware/firmware/bios combinations could be the culprit.  One of these
tools should work for you and it would be my recommendation to try them in this order (skipping what you've already tried):
    1) Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool
    2) Unetbootin
    3) Manually creating the partition and xcopy'ing the extracted ISO to it
    4) Rufus
    5) Borrow a PC with a DVD-R in it and burn the ISO to a disc and install from it.  If your laptop does not have a DVD drive, an external drive can be purchased for roughly $25 or less.  Or if you have an internal drive laying around, buy an enclosure
for about $15 and put the drive inside there and attach it to your laptop via USB or eSATA.
As always, my advice is nothing more than my opinion, which are like bungholes...everyone has one and they all stink!  LOL!

New printer has been connected to Window Vista for several months; no changes made to system.
Getting msg that Officejet 4500 series disconnected.
Ethernet cable is fully connected; have uninstalled and re-installed software.
Have run scan doctor which is showing Officejet 4500 series  connected w/USB; will not connect.
Any suggestions on how to get this printer working?
Thanks in advance for all help.  Thanks.

    Hello OrchidSkys,
Welcome back to the HP Forums.
I see that you are having a connectivity issue with the printer.
First off, please make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a power bar/strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer as an example but it is meant for HP products in general. Please click on the following link that explains the Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector.
Please remove the usb cable or the Ethernet cable from the printer and the computer and leave them off.
Click on the following link for the HP Officejet Software and Driver Removal Utility.
Once all the software and driver have been removed, please click on the next link for the HP Officejet J4500/J4600 All-in-One Printer series Full Feature Software and Driver.  Save this download to your desktop so that it creates its own icon.  Double click the icon and follow the instructions for the install.  Please do not connect any cables until the installation prompts you to do so.
If the troubleshooting does not help resolve your issue, I would then suggest calling HP's Technical Support to see about further options for you. If you are calling within North America, the number is 1-800-474-6836 and for all other regions, click here: click here.

  • SB X-Fi Driver Installation Problem (X-Fi does not install on Asus A8N-VM CSM

    Dear forum members,
I want to install Soundblaster X-Fi Xtreme on my Windows XP x64 Professional computer, but i am not able to succesfully finish 64bit X-Fi driver installation. Whether i use newer x64bit X-Fi beta driver or older official x64bit X-Fi driver, the installation of the driver stops at the end of the installation, when "CTDVINST.DLL" file is being installed and MY COMPUTER REBOOTS instantly. After the reboot, i am being asked to install Soundblaster X-Fi driver again and again. So all the X-Fi software installs well, but when i want to upgrade to x64bit drivers downloaded from Creative web site, the installation process reboots my computer right at the end of it, when "CTDVINST.DLL" file (it seems to be the last file in the driver package) is mentioned.
Help me please solve this problem, so that i can use my new Soundblaster X-Fi Xtreme on my computer soon.
    Thank you very much.

    --------------->
    - new Windows installation did not help,
    - it is not caused by x64bit operating system, beacuse it did not install neither on Win XP 32bit
    - i tryed both driver updates (2 and 3) on both operating systems
    - i tryed to start driver installation from X-FI Driver\Drivers\Support\ctzapxx.exe, no change at all
    - i tryed to uninstall previous driver first through ctzapxx.exe as well
    - i tryed to install the driver on fresh installation of both Windows XP x64bit and x32bit
driver installation reboots the computer just a percent before it should finish, allways, no matter how i try to install the driver

  • MSI - NX6800 GT driver installation problem

    Hello,
I've got a tricky problem, i'll try to give as much details as possible, so if i forget something, just ask =)
    My Configuration :
Motherboard : Asus A7n8X Deluxe (first version)
    CPU : Athlon XP 2400+
    RAM : 1.5Gb (DDR Ram)
    Graphic Card : MSI - NX6800 GT (256 Mb)
    Hard Drives : 80GB(Western Digital) and 250Gb(Hitachi)
Ok, i haven't put too many hardware informations because apparently the problem isnt coming from the hardware side.
First, i've been running with this configuration (just without the second hard drive), for a year and a half, on Windows 2000, and it's been working fairly fine. No problems detected.
i've acquired a second Hard Drive a few weeks ago (the 256 Gb one), so i've decided to put a fresh install of XP on it.
Installed XP without any problems, but it's while installing the drivers that the problem popped up.
I've installed Windows XP Professional on my newly acquired Hard Drive (the 250Gb one), and then tried to reinstall the latest NVidia Drivers for the Geforce.
I've first installed the drivers of the motherboard (1.16 from Asus), then i installed Direct X 9.0c, and i finally installed the latest Nvidia drivers for GFX Cards (91.31).
Unfortunately, right in the middle of the installation of these drivers, the screen switched to black, then went to sleep mode (like if there was no video output). Finally the computer reboots, and i have to use the latest working configuration to be able to go back to Windows XP again.
I've tried with different versions of the drivers for the motherboard and for the Geforce 6800 GT, but still the same problem.
So for now i'm still using only my first Hard Drive with Windows 2000 on it, till we find what to do to solve the problem. (and since it works on Windows 2000, the problem can only be a software one).
Thank you in advance for your help!
PS : Here is the detail of the 1.16 drivers from Asus :
This nForce WinXP driver package contains the below components:
    Audio driver 3.14 (WHQL'd)
    Audio utilities 3.07
    Network driver 2.81 (WHQL'd)
    GART driver 2.78 (WHQL'd)
    SMBus driver 2.75 (WHQL'd)
    Memory controller driver 2.75 (WHQL'd)
IDE driver 2.70 In The Box (WHQL'd)
    IDE driver 3.07 Full Driver
    Installer 3.11

I've already tried the Vid Card on another comp, and it works without any problems there.
I've been making an hypothesis, though the chance that its coming from that is very slim i think.
A bit more than a year ago, there was a storm(pretty violent and really near my house), and my comp was plugged on (though it was shut down). After that incident, 2 USB slots of my mobo were dead, along with one network card on it. But the rest was working fine. So i've been working if it couldnt have affected a bit the rest. I have no idea how it works whn installing new drivers, about the tests it does with the system and hte hardware. But if it tries to take full power on the vid card, it might be that. I dont know how i could verify that though.

  • Dv4-3106tx: Bluetooth driver installation problem

    Hi and good day,
Im having a problem with my integrated bluetooth. Before this everything works well until recently I cannot discover bluetooth device, send/receive file. And I confidently, uninstall the bluetooth driver from device manager with intention to reinstall it back using the driver included in C: drive.
However, the problem is when Windows keep install the driver with built in driver that comes with windows. I thought, ooh ok nevermind, I'll just run the setup and it will overwrite and use the Ralink/Motorola bluetooth driver instead.
But that's not the end. When I run the setup, I got this dialog
and I select "Yes, restart the computer now" and click on finish. Then the computer restart and relaunch the setup and again I got this same message again..again and again and again.
So I'm pretty much stuck now. Right now the bluetooth is installed with built in windows driver being used. But I cannot discover, send/receive file whatsoever.
    Any help is much appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.
    This question was solved.

Oh my gosh. I'm completely forgot this thread.
Actually I managed to solve the bluetooth problem by:
    1. Getting the driver backup files from my friend. He's using same lappy with me. I asked him to backup the driver using Driver Magician software.
    2. I run the driver magician software and do the restoration. Then it requires a restart. Restart the computer
    3. Upon restart, I launched the bluetooth driver installation software and it manages to complete the installation without any problem.

    Hi
Problems to get 'drivers'/'driver updates' installed for your Li've! or other SB models on XP or W2k system?
If ctzapxx.exe method didn't work either for you, have you tried 'forced' driver installation yet? If not here is what you can do.
NOTE: THIS METHOD DOES NOT WORK W/ ALL DRIVER PACKAGES, BECAUSE OF THE USED INSTALLER IS NOT THE SAME (ctcomp.dat is not available on those)
    . download [url="http://members.aol.com/dvdking200/Pub/ctcomp.exe">this utility[/url]
    2. download driver package (or installation ISO/rip) you want to install and extract it to your HD (you can also install Audigy X drivers for your Li've! card if you like)
    3. run ctcomp.exe and point it to look from
    - ..\Audio\Setup -folder, found as a subfolder in folder you extracted the ISO/rip
    - 'main folder' (for. ex. AUD_EAX4DRV_0303) when you're installing driver update (data.cab must exist on that folder)
    4. press Patch button
    5. install your drivers by running setup.exe located
    - at same ..\Audio\Setup -folder when setting up from extracted ISO
    - at 'main' folder when you're installing driver update

= No SB0220 support available? SO, IS THERE exactly a model numbered as SB0220 AT ALL?
    I think there is not.

The reason i said this should be a sticky is that these boards move so fast that its impossiable for new comers to keep up with threads that have AWESOME tips that may or may not help but how many of us have accually gone through every post in the last 60 days to try and find a fix? I know I have not, but in the end you need to try everything you can.
Something like this is not on the Creative FAQ data base so the only people to know about this possiable fix are the few who catch it in time.
In my experience there is ALWAYS more than way to do things and 0 ways to get it to work with 20 other methods to run it. Thats a lot of ways to do the one thing. So unless we have a huge data base with every possiable fix, method or forceiable way to do something then more and more people will get really upset that Creative offer no help.
Take the way Creative say to un-install drivers, man, this for the most part never works, so something like this may be the only way to get it to work for some people.
What I do is though, I copy a thread like this one and will pass it on to others if need be. Ofcause with all credit to the original poster and I never pass it off as my fix and/work.
I I like to cover every possiable aspect to do something. Ya know what i mean

Wireless install is only possible with the G510n-z models of the Officejet 4500 series printer. I should be able to point you to the right software, if I know your OS, but you won't be able to set the printer up wirelessly. What OS are you using?
