  • Link to Windows 8.1 Printer (Fax, Copy and Scan) Drivers for OfficeJet 4500 G510n-z

    Hello:
Need to know where I can find updated drivers for my OfficeJet 4500 G510n-z printer.   I am using Windows 8.1 operating system.
I have tried using the link at HP, but at the point that it supposedly gets to the install window, it asks me to insert the disc that came with the printer.  When I do that, I still get an error message saying something like "the link cannot be found."  I also get another message at some pont indicating that the full version needs to be uploaded.  Then, the same process starts all over again.   I should add that the printer disc says that it is compatible with XP, Windows 7 and other earlier versions, but not 8 or 8.1
I have tried this 6 or 7 times with the same result.  Dell (the company from which I bought the laptop) was useless and suggested I contact HP.
I can no longer scan, either, because the computer isn't recognzing that the printer has a scan function, so when I go to use PaperPort 12 to scan stuff, it doesn't recognize that a printer is attached.
Any help resolving these problems would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

  • "File Corrupt" error when opening Driver software for OfficeJet 4500 G510n-z

I'm trying to reinstall the software for my OfficeJet 4500 G510n-z printer and I have downloaded the drivers from the HP support site multiple times.  Each time I try to open the file I get an error of "File is Corrupt" and it stops opening.  I was able to eventually install the printer but not the HP Solution Software.
    I am running 64-bit Windows 7.
As you can see below, I have the printer installed but not the Solution Center.  How can I add the Solution Center?

What Anti virus software are you running?

    Hi sdrrmit,
It sounds like the printer didn't get installed correctly in your Windows operating system. Follow the steps below.
    Step one: Clear temp directory
On the Apps desktop right click the mouse, and select all apps. Type %temp% in the run app.
Highlight all the files in this folder, and then press the delete key to delete. If you get a message that the file is in use you will need to skip this file(s).
    Continue with Step 2 below
Step two: Downloaded and extracted to your system:
    1. Download the full feature software and drivers
    Full solution software
    2. Once the download is finished double click on the file to extract the software.
    3. When the installation window opens press the cancel button to stop the installation
    4. On the Apps desktop right click the mouse, and select all apps. Type %temp% in the run app.
    5. Look for, and open the folder starting with 7z (Example: 7zS2356)
    6. Right click on the folder, and select Copy
    7. Close that window, and all your open windows, and then in the middle of the desktop right click your mouse, and select Paste. This will move the 7z folder to your desktop.
    8. Open the 7z folder you just copied to your desktop
    9. Open folder Util
    10. Open folder CCC
    11. Run the uninstall_L4
    12. When the uninstall has completed restart the computer
    13. Run Disk cleanup by holding down the Windows button and R at the same time to pull up the Run prompt and type cleanmgr.exe and press enter.  Select all the boxes and delete everything. Click on the link below regarding this tool and any disclaimers.
    Cleanmgr Disclaimer
    14. Download and install the latest version of Adobe flash player
    Update Adobe Flash Player
    15. Open the 7z folder, and then double click on the Setup.exe file which will be toward the bottom of the open window. Follow the on screen instructions to reinstall your printer.
Let me know if you are able to successfully install the software and driver, and are able to print & scan?

  • HP Officejet 4500 G510n-z Wireless connection prints from Windows Vista but not from Windows 7

HP Officejet 4500 G510n-z printer appears to be connected to my Dell Notebook running Windows 7 on the HP Solution Center page but does not print.Documents just get stuck in the que. It was printing then it wasn't then it was then it wasn't. The printer works when I print from an older notebook running Vista. The last time this happened, I uninstalled and reinstalled HP software and that didn't seem to help. Then, for some inexplicable reason, printing started working. Now it has stopped working again.I can scan from the Windows 7 Notebook but no printing. I've tried all of the troubleshooting tools I could find without success. Thanks for trying to help.

    Hello-
It could be caused by a couple things :
    1. Firewall on PC or in router.
    2. wireless interference (ie microwave, cordless phone base @ 2.4 Ghz)
    3. distance from router
    4. corrupt print driver.
Turn off any firewalls you have and move anything that can cause interference away from router.
If none of the above resolves issue, I'll have you install another print driver.
    Click on start.
    Go to Devices and Printers.
    Click on Add a Printer.
Add a Local printer. Create a new Port and choose "Standard TCP/IP port.
    Hit Next.
Type in 192.168.1.12 in the Hostname or IP address box. (uncheck "Query the printer" box)
    Hit next.
When the Printer List opens up, click on windows update. ( this will take a few mins)
After the box shows up, Pick HP (not Hewlett Packard) on the Left and pick "Deskjet 990c" on the Right.
Click next, set as default, and finish.
Try to print using the Deskjet 990c.

It is likely your antivirus firewall in the way. What do you use?  Download and run this utility: http://h20180.www2.hp.com/apps/Nav?h_pagetype=s-926&h_lang=en&h_client=s-h-e17-1&h_keyword=dg-NDU&ju...

  • Cannot complete wireless setup for Officejet 4500 G510n using HP Installer

    Hi,
I hope someone can help me with this problem.
I bought an Officejet 4500 G510n and all was working fine on my old MacBook laptop. I have recently switched to a MacBook Air running OS X 10.8 and I can no longer connect wirelessly to this printer.
    I have tried the following:
    - resetting printer settings from OS X "Preferences" using USB cable.
    - disconnecting USB cable to printer.
    - downloading and installing the latest software drivers for OS X 10.8
    - reconnect USB cable to printer to start printer setup.
The problem arrises when I am performing the set-up task:
    - Screen shows invalid network details and gives me no option to continue.... only to go back to the previous page. I am stuck with no options at the moment.
Attached is the screen-shot of what I'm seeing.
Any help would be very grateful.
    John

From what you describe, you are using a USB cable but the information displayed there is for wireless. What you would want to do is install the printer using the USB cable and selecting USB installation, then use the software to complete the USB to Wireless conversion.
Either this, or you can set up the printer on your wireless network using the wireless setup wizard and then install using Networked - Wireless as the installation type.
    Happy Holidays!

  • Officejet 4500 G510n won't scan wirelessly

I have an Officejet 4500 G510n-z printer/scanner/fax.  It prints wirelessly (most of the time - I have had regular issues with it not being "seen" by my laptop, but I digress), but will not scan wirelessly - it will scan when connected with a USB cable.
The Error message says "the HP imaging device cannot be found".  It then gives 5 steps to correct the problem.  After each step one is to try scanning again.  I have followed these steps multple times with no success.
I am, unfortunately, running Windows 8.1 (I HATE, HATE, HATE WINDOWS 8 - it truly sux, major league).  I have downloaded the latest drivers from HP, which, I have uninstalled and reinstalled, several times.
This happens way too may times.  I can get the printer working wirelessly, usually, but not the scanner.
Any advice will be appreciated.  I am really in a jam.
    Thanx

  • Firmware upgrade for Officejet 4500 G510n-z

Please. i need the firmware upgrade for Officejet 4500 G510n-z or at the original firmware. my machine is acting uncommon. The paper feeder process start and page stop in the middle.
    thanks for all your help.
    Regards;

Yes, there should have been either a firmware update/patch, or a full recall on this device.
The software setup and configuration is bad enough for one humble computer, but when used as
intended with multiple devices it's an absolute headache.
I am constantly having to unplug the printer because the machine has decided it needs to rest for a bit. Okay,
everybody deserves a break now and then. But it goes into coma mode and I could be jesus himself and the power
or any other button) still would not wake it.
I would get into the rest but I'm not getting a helpful vibe from the forum; it's more defensive of a product which, apparently just under 5000 people have come by to check on. My friend at Microsoft talked to an HP engineer, who
laughed and gave us the fix.
Uploading to FedEx-Kinko's is the better option.

  • Officejet 4500 G510n all-in-one printer freezes

When I try to copy, the printer display shows "starting copy" but won't go any further. The document doesn't feed. The same thing happens when I put the document on the glass. When I push  cancel button, the display shows "copy cancelled" but won't go any further. I am using the controls on the printer. The HP Utility shows "Device Status: Hard error" I tried a hard reset and get the same result.

    Hello donwatt,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand the Officejet 4500 G510n will not copy a document. I will do my best to assist you! Please make sure this printer is plugged into a direct wall, not a surge protector. I just want to see if this makes a difference.
What happens when you scan a document to your computer? Do you have the same results?
Have you tried this hard reset? Leave the printer turned on>Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer for more than 60 seconds.

  • Officejet 4500 G510n-z reports invalid serial number

I have a new Officejet 4500 G510n-z, model number CN547A, running factory firmware version MWM2FN0944AR. I'm using it with several computers running Ubuntu linux.
The printer reports a 14-digit serial number in both the embedded web server's status page and to the HP Device Manager utility on my client computers.  The serial number should be 10 digits.  That's what's on the printer's box.  HP's technical support e-mail page also rejects the 14-digit number as invalid, but accepts the truncated 10-digit number as valid.

The real printer serial number really does compose 14 digits. HP just uses the 1st ten digit number on the serial number to register it your printer. Neither of the numbers are invalid they are just used for specific purposes. The 10 digit number is used to check your warranty status once you're registered at HP. Hope this helps you.
