Officejet 4500 wireless printing problem

We have an HP Pavilion g7 laptop that has always worked great with our 4500 wireless printer.  Now the computer says the printer is offline.  The wireless button is blue.  The computer hard wired to the printer shows that it is online.  What else am I missing?  Can anyone help?!?

  • Unable to print from Internet to HP Officejet 4500 Wireless printer.

I have a new HP Pavilion g6 Notebook and an HP Officejet 4500 Wireless printer.
The printer will print regular documents OK but will not print directly from the Internet. I get a message that says 'an error has occurred in the script on this page'.  If I save the Internet page to a document file, it prints OK.  Any idea how to fix this?

I had the same problem.  The printer worked fine with all my documents, but would not print anything from the internet.  I tried several fixes that didn't work.  Then I realized that I was using the 64 bit connection and when I switched to the 32 bit the problem was solved.

  • HP Officejet 4500 Wireless Printing Issues with Online Maps & Financial Institutions

I have an HP Officejet 4500 Wireless printer that I have wireless connection to my HP G72 Laptop running Windows 7 (64 bit) with Internet Explorer 9.  I am having trouble printing online maps from either Bing Maps or Google Maps.  It seems the print jobs get stuck in the print que and always show an indefinite status of “Printing” in the que but never get printed.
I’ve tested my other applications including Office 2010 and all other jobs seem to print just fine.  I do use the “Print” button located in each of the online Map sites (Bing, Google).  This is when the jobs get stuck.
I do also have the HP Bing Bar installed with Smart Print.  The Smart Print feature seems to work with the online maps just fine (seems I’ll just use it instead).
Another separate printing issue is that I can never get any of my online financial transactions to print from any of my online financial institutions with either the Internet 9 print features or the HP Bing Smart Print feature.  I can never get those to print (have to wait for the PDF statements to be available).
Any ideas as to why I can print the maps or online financial transaction?  I get no error messages either.

  • Why won't my officejet 4500 wireless print from microsoft word or excel?

My new officejet 4500 wireless printer will not print from microsoft word or excel.  The paper goes through the printer but there is nothing printed on it.

    Hello.
It seems like the black cartridge could be running out of ink. Since most of what is commonly printed from MS word and excel might be black text, this is the first reason I can figure out why your printer is not printing only from these applications.
Check this document to see if your printer is performing good and to check if ink is coming out from all of the cartridges.
    Cheers.

    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand you're receiving an error message when installing the Officejet 4500 software. What is the exact error message on your computer? Could you send a screen shot of your exact error?
How will you be connecting this printer? Wireless or USB?

  • Help with HP Officejet 4500 Wireless Printer

We have two HP 4500 Wirless Printers. We could print through our wireless network (unsecured)  until we secured it.
    Now it will not print.
We selected the tool icon on the printer.  Next we selected WIRELESS MENU.  Next, SET UP WIZARD.
It started searching for the network.  We located our wirless network and selected it.
Then it asked for the WPA Passphrase?  Our passphrase is all lower case, one word.  We entered it, but when we used the printer's keyboard, it automatically capitalized the first letter.
The message said, "Connecting".  Then INVALID PASSPHRASE.
We called the 800# for HP and the message was that tech support was not available at this time.  Both printers are still in warranty.
We tried the live chat with tech support:  BUT the Product Number on the back of the printer is only 5 letters long, and the message said it should be 6 or 7 letters long.  Thus no connection with live chat.
Needless to say, we are very frustrated!!!
Any ideas from the community would be welcomed because we can't reach HP tech support.
If HP is reading this message, please email me.

OK, in a web browser on a computer connected to the router (wired or wireless, does not matter), type 192.168.0.1 into the address bar (not the search or 'Google' bar).
When it asks for a login and password enter 'admin' for the login and leave the pasword blank.
Now, navigate to the wireless section and under wireless security you will find your wirless passphrase.

  • Hp officejet 4500 wireless won't print from laptop. It is connected to laptop. It prints from desktop

We have a HP Officejet 4500 wireless printer which was first installed in 2011 without any problems. We also utilize a HP LaserJet P1006 printer (not wireless) with our network. I cannot print from my laptop to either printer, but hubby's desktop has no problem. Both printers stopped working for my laptop at the same time. Everything worked perfectly until a few weeks ago when I could no longer print directly from my Dell Inspiron laptop. When I check on the connectivity of both printers to my laptop, the information tells me the printers are connected to my laptop.
My husband has a Dell desktop (our main computer).
I have tried everything I know to fix this problem, including shutting down the desktop, my laptop, the router, and the printers (including disconnecting the printers from the desktop with the cords that connect to the printers). I have followed all instructions on how to restart the entire system...plug the router in, plug in the printers & turn them on, and lastly restart both computers.
I am not what one would call "computer savvy"; as a matter of fact, I am quite computer-challenged. If any of you can tell me in extremely-easy-to-understand language what to do, I would appreciate your help.

    Hi,

  • Printer ink drying up. Officejet 4500 wireless

I have a Officejet 4500 Wireless printer.  I am a snowbird and vacation in Arizona.  Upon my return the printer ink has dried up.  Is there a solution to this problem?  Is there a different printer that does not let the ink dry up?

    Hi @HarveyAZ
The good thing about the ink system in your Officejet 4500, is that the printhead is intergrated into the cartridge. You do not have to worry about both a printhead and the cartridge.
    I can't say there is a printer that does not let the ink dry up, but here is some helpful information;
    Storing and Handling Ink Cartridges
    Storing Opened Cartridges and Printheads
I hope this helps.    Safe travels!

The link below will bring you to the HPshopping website for the Officejet 4500 supplies. Click on the "Paper" link at the top of the webpage and it should show you the supported paper types. I would personally asuggest the Advanced photo paper for photo pritning.

  • Remote wireless printing problem

Using Officejet 4500 Wireless printer and Mac running Lion. Printer works great on network. I was told that I could print to my new printer "from Grandma's house", but I fail to understand how. If this is possible, could someone explain to me how?

The HP Officejet 4500 All-in-One Printer Series (G510) is not ePrint enabled. ePrint would allow you to print "from Grandma's house".  With the Officejet 4500, the only smartphone printing you can do would be with the HP ePrint Home & Biz app available for iPhone and Android phones.  You can learn more at:  http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01930282&lc=en&cc=us&destPage=document&dlc=en&j...

  • Disabled scan functionality of HP Officejet 4500 Wireless with 10.9.1. HP says this printer is not supported for 10.9. Is there a solution?

HP Officejet 4500 Wireless with 10.9.1 - Problem is not the printer, just the scanner. The scanner seems to be working but the saved files are not good images, just a bunch of scanned lines. My printer shows up under Preferences>printers and Scanners.
I have found a clumsy work around  - accessing the scanner under Preferences>printers and Scanners allows me to produce a savable file. Problem is I loose functionality provided in the standard HP mode. Specifically I cannot change the image size. Doing that under Preferences>printers and Scanners just makes the window around the picture larger, it doesn't scale the image itself.
My HP connection is strictly with USB, I do not use the wireless feature.
HP tells me this printer is no longer supported for 10.9 Maverick. Is there anything else I can do to regain the scalable image size functionality with this printer/operating system combo?
    Thanks,
    Rcintio_Gray
