Officejet 4500 Wwireless data transmission problem

My officejet 4500 only prints about the first 1/8th of any given page then spits it out. I've tried connecting with a usb cable and reconfiguring the printer. It recognizes the wireless LAN and seems to recognize the computers, but it fails to print out complete documents

Hello Lost-in-Cyber,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I see you are having a very hard time scanning with the Officejet J6480 on Windows 7, it will work with out issue on XP. When you ran the Print and Scan Dr, do you remember if it came back with an error state, unable to fix, etc, when it was ran?
I would like you to download and run this update on the computer, Critical Update: Cannot find scanned image or document files after scanning completes. Once installed, re-start the computer and printer and then try to scan.
If this update fails to help, try scanning using Microsoft methods of scanning. --->How to Scan: Windows 7<--- "How to scan without HP software" is the drop down to select within the above guide. Let me know the results.
Cheers,
JERENDS

  • HP Officejet 4500 Ethernet / Wifi Driver Problem (blank fields) with Office 2013

    Hi,
I have an Officejet 4500 (Ethernet) and I have exactly the same problem as lots and lots of HP Printer owners!
Everytime I try to print on Office 2013 + Win 8 64-bit, the Printer window comes with strange "Asiatic" symbols, and not the original language (Portuguese or English, I tried both). (Note: my father has exactly the same printer I have and he already had some problems also on Win 7 + Office 2010, then I deleted all HP drivers, installed again and it solved the problem)
I already tried the menus you people talk about but in my model I do not have such options. I already installed everything again and again...and always the same problem! With another printer from another company I have no problems with the drivers on Office, so it must be from HP Drivers that do not get along with Office 2013!!! Please update them as soon as possible...

    Hello DaveZiffer,
    Welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that you are having an issue since the installation of the Office program.
Here is a link that will take you to the 4 updates that are available for your printer.
After doing the updates, if you are still having issues, please feel free to write me back and I will be happy to research this issue further.

  • NAT7210 to host data transmission problem

    Hello!
Years ago, our company developed a GPIB interface board, using a NAT7210 GPIB controller which is hosted by an Atmel 8 bit MCU. For a test, the board is connected to a NI GPIB PCI interface, using MAX and NI-488 Communicator for communication.
Everything works fine so far, except one thing: a customer complained about occasionally "distorted" responses to the *IDN? query. We verified this to be true.
The response sometimes contains one additional character. For example, if the response string to the *IDN? query would be 70 bytes (including end token 0xA), sometimes it is 71 bytes and the additional character, which is mostly a ">" (0x3E), is inserted in random position.
Sometimes it's even worse. Then the NAT7210 sends the string twice, making it 139 bytes. This error occurs every few times when querying *IDN?.
The MCU that controls the NAT7210 does not send this additional character. I can verify in the debug mode, that the buffer content that is sent to the GPIB controller is OK and the code is OK, so that sending data is not interfered. We don't have any clue how to stop this. The NAT7210 has no command to flush its output buffer, nor we know if it does automatically after sending the message via GPIB.
Does anybody have any idea what's causing this and how to stop it? TIA

    About NAT7210:
The problem with those GPIB controllers is that there are too many "ORs" in the manuals. "Do this OR do that". Too many options when setting up the config of a controller making it almost impossible to find the right one. We strictly adhered the initialisation sequence as told in the manual. But NI or other GPIB controller manufacturers don't mention a word about timing of the control data between host MCU and NAT7210. I also couldn't find example code for best configuration.
However, the chip and the GPIB device are working smooth on the bus, except that one single problem. So I doubt if the controller is set up incorrectly.
I can not ensure that there is no noise on the bus, but I only have that one controller chip as talker/listener on the bus.
The number of queries after the problem occurs again is arbitrary. Sometimes 1, sometimes 5, sometimes 10 queries. The frequency of the double string is not so high as that of the additional character.
    About rich text editor:
I'm using Chrome. The behaviour with the missing button strip and mode switching only happens when starting a new topic after searching the forum and pressing the blue button "Post" above the search result window. When replying to a thread, everything is fine, even switching between Rich Text and Preview modes. In the other case, the windows contents were deleted when switching view mode.
    Best regards,
    Maik

  • Officejet 4500 G510n-z scanning problem

    Hi,
I have a Mac (Mavericks) and when I try to scan a document via wireless I see the document scanned correctly, I can save the file only in  JPEG, but when I open the file it's all gray.
I already tried to disinstall and install the printer, but the problem remains.

Try scanning from your Mac. Use Image Capture app in your Applications folder.
Click once on the scanner on the left side, then click on Show Details along the bottom. Along the right side you will see LOTS of options for scanning and saving.

  • OfficeJet 4500 and Problem with Launching Windows Explorer (XP OS)

I installed HP OfficeJet 4500 wireless printer with XP operating system on my desktop PC in Wireless mode.  Printing works fine from desktop and wireless laptops.  However, when I try to access Windows Explorer on my desktop PC, using the desktop shortcut or executable file name in the "Run" menu, the screen flashes, goes blank (blue screen) then refreshes the desktop but will not launch Windows Explorer.  This also occurs when I go to My Computer or Network Places and select "My Documents" or click on the root of the C: drive.  The only way I can access my files is to use the actual program they were created in (i.e., Word, Excel, Adobe, etc.)  I used System Restore and restored my computer to a date prior to installing the printer and this solved the problem.  When I reinstalled the HP OfficeJet printer, the problem recurred, so it is definitely associated with installing the printer.  Anyone have a fix for this?  Thanks for your help.

    Hi,
I haven't seen that issue specifically.  I would download and run the HP Printer Diagnostic Utility.  There might be some file conflicts during the installation that are not resolved that this utility might fix.  I have a C309a AiO that had some other issue that the Diagnostic utility fixed.

  • HP OfficeJet 4500 and MAC OSX 10.6.8 installation problem

I've recently bought a HP OfficeJet 4500 and I'm having problems with the Macintosh installation.
I'm on Intel Mac OS X 10.6.8 and I connected the printer to my iMac by using the USB cable.
The CD included with the printer is not readable, so I had to download the driver (OJ4500vG510a-f_Mac.dmg) from the HP website.
When I run the installer, the application is not able to recognize the device so no model is displayed in the list; then, I choose to continue the installation without specifying the model but when I have to do the configuration the installer is not able to find the correct device and so the setup procedure fails.
What I want is to use the printer wireless, so I think I should perform the configuration procedure and to specify that I want to use the Wi-Fi connection but I never reach this step because installer fails before.
I have to say that I successfully installed this printer on Windows XP and Windows 7 by downloading the drivers from the HP website and installing them without problems, but I'm not able to do the same thing with my Mac.
    Can you help me, please?
What I have to do to get my printer work with my mac?

    Hi,
I got the impression you are using the wrong software for your printer.
In order to get aligned, there are 3 sub models of the 4500 series:
HP Officejet 4500 Desktop (G510a) - Provide USB connectivity only. - The driver posted above intended for this model.
HP Officejet 4500 (G510g) - provide USB and Wired ethernet network connection
HP Officejet 4500 Wireless (G510n) - Provide USB and Wireless network connection,
As you mentioned the printer connected to the network, therefore I doubt if the correct driver has been used.
Above you may find a direct download link for both of the models
Simply click the model which identical to the one listed on the front of the printer,

  • HP Officejet 4500 = Printing problem

    Hello,
I have an HP Officejet 4500.  When I run a printing test, it prints out fine so it does not appear to be an ink problem or connection issue.  But when I try to print out a document from my computer, the paper feeds through but does not print.
    Any ideas?

    Hi Perplexed99,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums.  I gather that when sending a print job to your Officejet 4500 printer that the printer only prints blank pages.
I’ve included the Troubleshooting Print Quality document.  I know you said the test page seemed to print fine but please follow the steps in this document.  If that doesn’t assist you, please also Try the HP Print and Scan Doctor for Windows.  You can find the download for the Print And Scan Doctor at hp.com/go/tools.

It's possible that you need new drivers from HP, in order to be compatible with OS X 10.8.3. Looking at HP website, they haven't released new drivers since last November. You might need to wait for new drivers or contact HP to push for an update.

  • Officejet 4500 G510g-m | Windows 7 Driver Installation Problems

    Hello!
I've just purchased a new Acer Aspire One 722 laptop running on Windows 7 64-bit for work and I'm having some problems getting it to play nice with the all-in-one at work. The model is an Officejet 4500 G510g-m and though I still have the CD, it seems to be of little help. Whenever I run any of the HP diagnostic tools, they attempt to download the full software suite (I assume, since it's the same 373MB package) and extract it, only to go back to step one of discovering the device and starting the download all over again.
I have tried running the Solution Center installer directly from the disk, at which point I get the 2732 error. I've uninstalled and reinstalled Flash to attempt to circumvent that error to no success. I have downloaded both the basic and the full driver suite from the HP site and attempted installation multiple times, using the scrubber in between to ensure a clean slate. I've copied the files from the CD to my computer and tried to install more directly, with exactly the same results, yet the printer continues to show up as problematic under the "Printers and Devices" window, troubleshooting which just returns me to the endless cycle of downloading a driver that seems to not want to install.
At this point, I haven't the faintest clue what's causing the problem, so I'd greatly appreciate any insights!
Thanks for your time in advance.

    Hey Kyramor,
If you visit this link you can find the print and scan driver without the full feature software:

  • Officejet 4500 Vista Wireless Problem

I'm trying to print to my new Officejet 4500 from a notebook running Vista using a wireless connection with no luck. When I try to print, a message pops up saying "Windows cannot print due to a problem with the current printer setup".
I have no problems printing to this printer from a desktop running XP using a wireless connection and I have no problems with the laptop connection to wireless (I can surf the internet with no problems).
    I have:
Used the disc that came with the printer to set up both the laptop and desktop.
Then, I downloaded the current drivers and firmware from HP and installed that on the laptop
I have checked the printer setup using the wireless connection wizard on the printer, and the printer reports no problems
I have manually added the printer to the laptop
It has to be a problem with Vista or my laptop.
Any ideas would be appreciated. I am all out of them now!
