Officejet 6500 709A windows 8

A while back I set the printer up to print black only not to waste color ink.  I now want to print color pictures and selected print in color.  it now only prints in black.  I printed a diagnostic page and the colors print fine.  Any suggestions here?

Hello again, thank you again for your response. How do you have the printer connected to the computer, USB or Wireless? One common issue that I have seen is when the printer is connected to a Power Bar or Power Strip. The reason why this causes issues is simply because the printer already has a built in surge protector. If you have it connected to a Bar or Strip the printer will NOT get all the power it needs to function properly. I have seen the printer give false errors such as Paper jams or Inks system issues when connected to the Bar's or Strip's. Try connecting to a wall outlet and power cycle the printer and the computer and see if that resolves the issue. If it does NOT resolve the issue, I would then suggest that you do a complete uninstall and then click on the link that I have provided to get to the updated drivers. Down load the drivers and follow the on screen instructions. Please keep in mind NOT to connect any cables that go from the printer to the computer until prompted to do so.

  • Windows 8.1 Dell 23" All In One & HP OfficeJet 6500 709a

When using Adobe Acrobat XI Pro to create a PDF from a scan, my HP OfficeJet 6500 709a opens the HP scanning utility, makes noise and will scan one page and then stop.   I know it scanned a page because one went through the printer and came out but the HP scan utility just says "In Progress" and does nothing.   I have to force quit both Acrobat and the HP Scan to get out of it.   I just paid $450 for Acrobat for this sole purpose and am a bit frustrated.  All I need to do is scan to pdf multi page documents and nothing else.  Any thoughts here?  The Dell is 8.1 and the driver is the 32bit version.

Just tried it on my Windows 7 Pro with an HP Officejet Pro L7680 and got the same error!   Seems HP and Acrobat XI doesn't play nice together?

  • Can I use my Officejet 6500 709a with HP e-print

I have recently got a Samsung Galaxy Tablet and would like to print from it can I use my Officejet 6500 709A on hp e-print?

    Hey midnite1rc,
The Officejet 6500 (E709a) series does not have the ability to connect to the web services server to obtain an ePrint code.  However, if you are using the ePrint app and have the Officejet 6500 connected to the same network as the Android device, then you can print to the 6500 using the Android device.  However, you will not have full ePrint access such as creating a custom email address for the printer and printing from anywhere in the world by emailing the printer.
    Hope this helps clarify,
    Jason

  • HP OFFICEJET 6500 709A WILL NOT SCAN FROM FRONT PANEL ON MACHINE os windows 7 what must be done?

I have an oj 6500 709a all in one that will not scan when I press the scan button on machine.I have doown loaded all the updates and drivers.what must be done ?

    Hi z5090joe,
    Thanks for the response!
We can check a few other things, since the scan communication itself seems to be working okay, just not from the front of the printer. I'd like to check the Scan Settings on the front panel with in the HP Solution Center.
Once you're in the HP Solution Center, please click on Settings along the bottom, click Scan Settings, then click Scan To... Setup.
You will then see a screen that has Available Scan Shortcuts on the left and Front Panel List (Scan To button) on the right. If there are no options on the right, please add the scan options you'd like from the left side by clicking on it and then clicking the Add button in the middle. If you add one by mistake just click on it and then click Remove. Once you've added the options click Update the Device and then OK on the next screen.
If there are options on the right side when you open it, please Remove all of the options, click Update the Device, and then go back to the Settings screen, before following the same process described above to add the options to the right side.
Once you've added the options check the front panel of the printer. If they still aren't there, please turn the printer off for 30 seconds before turning it back on (use the power button not the power cord) and try the Scan option again.
Let me know how this goes for you!

  • HP OfficeJet 6500A -e709 and HP OfficeJet 6500-e710 - Windows 8.1

I have purchased a couple of new laptops that both have Windows 8.1 on them.  I have my original set up disks.  I did not have to install to be able to use the printers, the drivers were installed during the laptop set up but I cannot get the desktop icons to appear so I can access the printer as scanner and fax from my desktop.  Any suggestions?
My disk says it is not compatible with Windows 8.1 and cannot run through the set up.

    TNG1,
    Welcome to the HP Forum.
    No worries.
You can go to the printers' support site to download and install the compatible software.
General Instructions to install the Printer Software
    Open  HP Drivers & Downloads
    Enter your Printer Model information
    Open HP OfficeJet 6500A series
Select your Printer from the “Results” list
Enter your Operating System in the Drop-down menu
     Click NEXT and Scroll down
Look for category Driver - Product Installation Software
Select the Basic Driver, e-print, or Full Feature Software
Save the *.exe installation package(s) on your computer
The file(s) will likely save to the "Downloads “folder.
    Next:
If available, you may wish to download the Print and Scan Doctor and / or other programs from Category – Utilities
    HINT:
Install the Utilities / Tools first; the little installation packages are smaller in size
If you have ‘Admin’ control, you may highlight the package and “double-click” to install it, else Right-Click, Select run as Administrator and install.
    NOTES:
    ·         On the bottom half of the main webpage for your printer, you can find helpful videos to assist with the installation.
    ·         Scroll the video list back and forth until you find the video that most closely matches your situation.
If using a USB connection:  Download and install the driver software before connecting a USB cable.
Ethernet:  If the printer supports Ethernet, you may connect the printer to the network (and assign the printer an IP address at the router, if you like).  Once the printer is connected to the network, be sure the printer is turned on and then install the printer software.
After the initial installation is complete and working, be sure to check for and install any relevant updates  - check Category  - Update
There is valuable information at the printer’s website, including manuals, how-to pages, Troubleshooting and SOLUTIONSfor problems, and alerts for your printer.  Be sure to take an extended look at what’s available.  Bookmark the page.

  • Officejet 6500 709a printer noises?

When I send a document to be printed the printer makes many noises like it may be cleaning the print head before it prints. When the document does print, sometimes without making these noises, it almost always makes them after it has printed the document and I must wait to print another one until the printer is finished whatever it is doing. Seems to me that the printer should just print the document instead of making me wait. Am I asking too much? Is there a way to turn whatever is going on, off? Thanks in advance for your help.

The sound you hear is the printer servicing the printheads.  It will do this before a print job depending on how long it has been since the last print and also at the end of a job.  There is not a way to disable this.

  • HP officejet 6500 drivers for windows phone

    IHello,
I have officejet 6500 with ethernet card. I use with wireless. I have Nokia 1020, Win8.1 mobil phone. I want print text on my phone. I installed HP Aio Remote Beta program. Aio found my printer but it said that this printer isn't supported. How can I print my text using my mobil phone on the officejet 6500? Is there any driver for mobil phone or any different program? or is that an upgrade for Aio (it must include my printer's driver ofcourse)
    Thanks...

    Hi,
I afraid the printer is not compatible with Windows Phone.
Only the models listed within the "What printers support printing features for the HP AiO Remote app for Windows 8 Phones?" below can be used for printing from Windows 8 Phone devices:

  • HP OfficeJet 6500 E709a: cannot scan from Windows 8.1; uninstall crashes at step 8 of 10

When I try to scan from Windows 8.1, launched from the HP Solution Center, it fails before giving me a preview, saying:
    Scanning error
    4,[(2,22,80040001),(3,22,0)]
When I run the HP Print and Scan Doctor and select "Fix Scan", it fails on the first check, saying it failed to find the driver. The text field that gets uploaded to HP includes the string "hpbxpsrender.dll: Not Found".
I tried uninstalling, using uninstall.bat in the "OJ_AIO_6500_E709_EntScruber_140" (HP OfficeJet Enterprise 14.0), which I downloaded from HP.com. It gets to step 8 of 10 ("removing unnecessary components..."); then it hangs and Windows 8.1 says "HP Installer Uninstaller has stopped working" and kills it.
I have tried running uninstaller in regular mode, in regular mode with my anti-virus / firewall (Kaspersky) paused (disabled), and in Safe Mode with Networking. Same result every time.
I have run the Installer without error. I can view the HP OJ status web page in my browser (http://192.168.1.5) from both computers.
I don't remember if scanning has ever worked on this computer. Scanning works on another computer (Windows XP). Both computers are wired (Ethernet) to the same network switch as the HP OJ.

    Hi DonaldPayne,
Welcome back to the HP Support Forums! I see you are not able to scan to your HP Officejet 6500 with your computer running the Windows 8.1 Operating system. You have tried to uninstall the software but get an error message.  I see you have done ALOT of troubleshooting already, thank you for that, this allows me to see what has failed for you.

    4. Press the Windows key + R on the keyboard to bring up the run menu.
    5. Type %programfiles(x86)% in the run field, and click OK. This is for 64 bit systems only.
    6. Delete any HP/Hewlett Packard folders.
    7. Press the Windows key + R on the keyboard to bring up the run menu.
    8. Type %appdata% in the run field, and click OK.
    9. Delete any HP/Hewlett Packard folders.
    10. Press the Windows key + R on the keyboard to bring up the run menu.
    11. Type %programdata% in the run field.
    12. Delete any HP/Hewlett Packard folders.
    13. Press the Windows key + R on the keyboard to bring up the run menu.
    14. Type regedit in the run field.
    15. Delete any HP/Hewlett Packard folders or keys that you find. (backup the reg file b4)
    16. Run Disk cleanup from Administrative Tools
    17. Now run the HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows it was created to help Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1 users download and install the latest and most appropriate HP software solution for their HP Printer.
    18. I have an Asus laptop running Windows 8.1.  Every few days I can not print on our Officejet 6500 e709n.  The message says the print driver is unavailable.  I must then uninstall and reinstall the print driver.  We have a Dell laptop running Windows 7 and a Macbook also connected wirelessly that we have no problems with this issue.  How do I correct the issue so I do not have to uninstall/reinstall every few days?

  • HP Officejet 6500 Installing Problems Windows 7

    Hello,
When I triy to install the HP Officejet 6500 on my Windows & desktop, I get a error that setting up te printer failed.
This happens after I select the printer (wired) en select the printer that is found from the list. After that he try's to install it. After 10 seconds I get the Error. I can only select TRY AGAIN or NEXT to install Software. When I pressed Next, he installs the Printer and places an shortcut on my Desktop called "Add Printer". When I use this, I do the same steps as Above, but still I get the same error.
Can anybody help? Already disabled the firewall.

OK, make sure that all your firewalls are disabled for the installation process (Windows and your security system's).
If you just cannot get it to work still, do an L3 uninstall.  Look for  \util\ccc\uninstall_l3.bat  on your printer's install CD and run it. This will strip the software from your system very thoroughly.  Then install the software from here.

    Hi,
Probably you have to do a cleanup and try again. HP may know that therefore it supplies a cleanup program. You can download the cleanup program from the following link:

  • Compatibility Windows XP HP officejet 6500 (E709) printer with new HP Pavilion

I just purchased a HP Pavilion 23 all-in-one.  The store where I bought it said that they could not set up my HP Officejet 6500 (E709) printer because it was not compatible with the new Windows installed on the Pavilion.  The CD for the printer says Windows XP, Vista Version 12.00 on the label.  I hate to give up a perfectly good printer just because it is not compatible with the new PC.  Is there a fix for this or was the technician just not looking in the right place for the driver.

Here is a link for the 6500 E709a drivers.
