Officejet 7000 faint printing

We have an Officejet 7000 E809a wide format printer in the office. It appears to be working perfectly for most people, except for one computer that when printing to the printer documents come out very faint, as if they were printed in draft mode. This computer is set up exactly the same as the other computers in the office - Windows 7, Office 2003, same printer driver. The printer preferences are set to 'best' quality and I've even copied the normal.dot template from a working machine to eliminate that as the cause.
The same document prints perfectly fine on a HP LaserJet in the office, just not to Officejet 7000.  I've tried deleting and recreating the printer on this computer, I've updated the driver, deleted the driver and reinstalled from the server hosting the printer, deleted the registry entries for the printer and reinstalled it, but nothing seems to have made any difference. Short of reinstalling Windows on this computer I really don't know what else to try.
Does anybody have any suggestions please?

Hi @GavinS38 ,
Thank you for taking the time out of your day to ask that question on the HP Forums today!
I understand you are experiencing feint printing on 1 specific computer in your office. All of the other computers print fine but this specific computer is printing feint.

  • Officejet 7000: Squeaky printing

I have a new Officejet 7000 printer which I just started using about 2 weeks ago. I only print a few sheets per day on average.
Over the last week the printer has developed a high pitched squeaky noise as it prints. It seems to be when the print heads travel back and forth.
    Any thoughts for a solution?
Should I return it for an exchange?
    Thank you.

While the printer should continue to work, the squeaking will probably not go away.
If you just bought your printer it will still be in warranty. Contact a phone support agent, who can best guide you on support options.

  • Officejet 7000 Wide Format not printing Black

Hi THere.  I have a HP Officejet 7000 wide Printing format and it is not printing Black.  The ink levels are showing full.  I have cleaned, 2nd tier clean & Aligned the printer with no affect.
I had removed the old cartridge when this happened and it was actually half full, so I also bought a new cartridge and it still prints the same.
    Any ideas out there?
    Thanks
    Finto

If the printer is out of warranty one thing that might be worth a shot is soaking the printhead...
    1) Get a pan and put 1/2" of very hot (not boiling) water in the bottom.
    2) Next remove all the ink cartridges, then remove the printhead assembly.
    3) Gently put the printhead nozzles down in the water and let it soak for five minutes.
    4) Remove the printhead and gently dry the electrical contacts.
    5) Put the printhead back in the printer and then reinstall the ink cartridges.

  • Officejet 7000 freezes CMS Intellicad CAD software after printing.

I am using a HP Officejet 7000 A3 printer with ethernet connection to my XP workstation to print from CMA Intellicad CAD software.  To print, I have to change the printer preferences to an A3 mono landscape shortcut in the printer setup.  When the job finishes printing, Intellicad freezes and has to be forcibly shut down.  Perhaps an incompatible DLL?

    Hello,
There is an print driver update available below for your product, try to install it and see if this helps:

  • Officejet 7000 Wide Format printing birds

    Hello my new HP friends.
I have an Officejet 7000 wide format printer, connected to a jetdirect box to print via NDPS. The people in the office are complaining that the printer is printing out 'little birds'. These are of course the birds on the alignment pages. Apparently it prints 2 of these per day.
Why is the printer doing this every day? The pigeons are starting to mount up.
    Thanks,
    Phil

    Hello MerlotLady,
The lines are indeed clearly visable and look like they are caused by the inkt not bleeding very well through the paper. In this case I would recommend using another paper. I checked the HP website for you and HP recommends using advanced paper. So any kind of HP Advanced Paper will do, either glossy or high gloss as long as it is from the HP Advanced line. A copy of the recomendation below. If this will not solved the problem, best thing to do is contacting your local HP support. Let me know if it helps.
    "Advanced photo paper
Best for printing with HP 02, 38, 60, 110, 564, 920, or 940 inks; you get vivid, instantly dry, smudge- and water-resistant photos"

  • HP Officejet 7000 Wide Format printing black AND white lines on photos

I am having some serious problems with my officejet 7000. I have contacted HP and have went through all the steps required (although all they could do is send me a new head and cartridges to help remedy the problem). This however has failed. Let me give a quick example of my problem. Although these 4 images are different in almost every way, they are printed on the exact same paper lol.
    <img src="http://a4.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc7/298367_2181658093219_999934383_32331922_448499237_n.j...">
The bottom two 4x6 are on HP Premium Plus photo paper.... Not cheap, and being wasted daily, trying to get this thing to print...
I finally had a break thru when I printed bordered on my 4x6 AND 8x10's.... The printer will work and print flawlessly on a bordered picture... This does not help me when the customers want a borderless picture though. When it is printing a borderless picture, it seems to be rushing through the process, but when it is printing bordered, it takes its time.... any ideas as to how to fix this?
It is a Windows 7 system. Ive tried wire and wireless printing to rule out communication failures. Which also concluded it is not software related due to reinstalling software for wire and wireless.
Sorry to rant, just getting fedup with what could be a great printer......
One more thing... Why cant you print 11x14 on a 13x19 page?!(no option for it  )

Sorry to hear about the issue you are facing.
There is an updated print driver for your product which was released:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=4062&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=3883...
Check if this newer print driver helps.
To answer your other query about selecting a different size media vs inputting different size, the printer actually does not allow it to protect it from overspray on the carriage.

  • Cannot print using HP Officejet 7000

Have just purchased an HP Officejet 7000 and find I cannot print from Firefox. Works OK with Internet Explorer and all other programmes.

Thank you for your help. When I try the "reset firefox printer setting" and type "print" in the search field, I get the settings for the two previous computers and the current one. If I type "print-printer", I get a blank page. Also the menu button disappears. If I click on the setting, "delete" is not one of the options. If I try to"reset all firefox printer setting" and click on "show folder" under application basics, a list of files and folders opens. the prefs.js file is only 23KB (JScript Script File) long and cannot be opened, so I cannot remove any lines that start with "print".

  • HP Officejet 7000 Wide Format Printer - E809a - losing connection through router

We have an issue getting sustained response from our HP Officejet 7000 Wide Format Printer - E809a which is linked to the wireless network by ethernet cable to a Netgear router.  We have tried stripping out the driver software & uninstalling the printer from the register, then re-installing through latest downloads from the HP site.  This works, especially if the device is set as the default printer, but within an hour the printer greys out in the device register and the default automatically resets to another printer.  Does anyone know why this printer is losing its connection?

Hi , I see by your post that the default printer keeps changing. I would be happy to help you.
Uncheck the SMTP setting in the print drivers, to see if that will help. From Devices and Printers, right click on the printer and left click on Printer Properties, click on the Ports tab, select Configure Port, uncheck SMTP and the printer should show online again. If the issue persists, please take a look at this document. • Officejet 7000 Sharing Problems

I have a small office network setup and the officejet 7000 is shared from a windows vista business machine (using MS network). The printer is connected to the PC with a usb connector.
I have a new laptop running windows 7 home and I am having problems setting up the printer. You can install the printer no problem and it sees the shared printer correctly and as you install the printer it comes up with no error messages but for some reason it will not print.
Sometimes when I print a test page it will send to the spooler with no error and the print job then disappears from the spooler but it does not print. Sometimes when I try and print a test page it comes up with the error can't print page.
Its all very strange and I have tried multiple re installs and checked all the windows updates and drivers and I still can't get it to print.
    Any ideas... please help?

Why are you using Windows Print Sharing with this printer?  It will only share printing, not scanning nor faxing.
This is a network printer.  Plug it into your router via Ethernet cable and all computers will be able to use all of its functions.  You will have to re-run the HP software on each computer to create a network instance of the printer.

  • Officejet 7000 wide format

Please can someone help me -before I get carted off to the funny farm!
I recently bought a 7000 wide format and as I live in Spain, I had it sent out from Amazon to me.  No problem there - I installed it and started to print.  I was well pleased.....BUT....
after about 20 pages, I got messy print-outs. I carried out head cleaning, but there were still smudges on the paper.
So, following the instructions I removed the printhead and found there was ink all over it, so I carefully cleaned it and replaced it.
Now I keep getting the error message from the toolbox telling me the printhead either isn't compatible or is damaged.
I have tried to contact HP in Spain where the warranty is registered, but the site won't allow me access, as it says I don't
have an HP printer.  It says the model number I entered doesn't exist either, so I can't get any information from there.
If I have inadvertantly damaged the printhead, can I get a new one?  Someone told me that I can, but I just can't find out
    how and where.
I can't send it back to Amazon because, owing to a shgortage of space,  I binned the original box and packaging - so
    I'm totally stuffed.
Any help would be really appreciated.
    Thanks
    Lee

    Hi @Ratboy2k
I understand you are having some troubles with our Officejet 7000. I would be happy to help you. From your description, it sounds to me like the printer might need to be aligned. Please use the following steps to align the printer and let me know if doing so resolves the issue.
Load plain white paper in the input tray.
    Open HP Solution Center:
Windows XP: Click Start, click All Programs, point to HP, and then click HP Solution Center.
Windows Vista or Windows 7: Click the Windows icon (), click All Programs, point to HP, and then click HP Solution Center.HP Solution Center opens in a separate window.
    Click Settings ().
Under Print Settings, click Printer Toolbox. The printer Toolbox opens in a new window.
    Click the Device Services tab.
    Click Align the Printheads.
    - Source
If this does not resolve the issue, please print a Print Quality report so we can determine if the issue is the printer itself or somehow related the driver or program you are printing from. To print a Quality report, use the steps above, but instead of choosing Align printheads, select Print a Print Quality Diagnostic Page, and then click Print Page.
    The report should look like the image below;
Thanks, I look forward to hearing from you.

After updating to Corel's PSPX7 from X6, I found that the printer properties windows when called from the 64bit version of the software where showing "foreign characters for labels and the shortcuts were empty.

Having spent several hours with Corel support on a remote access linkup we discovered that not only was PSPX7 64bit affected but all print capable  apps in win 8.1 64bit
i.e Notepad, Wordpad, IE, Windows Journal, Windows Fax & Scan and Paint.
It also affects the latest 64bit version of Textpad (v7.4.0)
All 32 bit software versions are unaffected and work correctly.
this only came to light as I use few of the in house apps of windows  as I have 64bit Office 2010 which along with PSPX6 have no problems.
Even though these drivers were only released in August something has changed that needs to be addressed.

    Hi @don1952,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums! I see you are running into some software problems with the Officejet 7000 drivers and your computer running the Windows 8.1 Operating system. After some research you are not alone, it's actually the Microsoft Operating system and the language settings, if it is set to English (United Kingdom) then this will cause the issues you are experiencing. You just need to go in and change the systems language to English (United States), please follow the steps listed below:
    1. Go to Control Panel
    2. Select, Clock Language and Region
    3. Now select Change Region
    4. In the Format tab select the English (United States)
    5. In the Location tab ensure you have United states in the Current location drop down
    6. Now select Apply
    I hope this helps!
