Officejet 7000 Wide Format not printing Black

Hi THere.  I have a HP Officejet 7000 wide Printing format and it is not printing Black.  The ink levels are showing full.  I have cleaned, 2nd tier clean & Aligned the printer with no affect.
I had removed the old cartridge when this happened and it was actually half full, so I also bought a new cartridge and it still prints the same.
Any ideas out there?
Thanks
Finto

If the printer is out of warranty one thing that might be worth a shot is soaking the printhead...
1) Get a pan and put 1/2" of very hot (not boiling) water in the bottom.
2) Next remove all the ink cartridges, then remove the printhead assembly.
3) Gently put the printhead nozzles down in the water and let it soak for five minutes.
4) Remove the printhead and gently dry the electrical contacts.
5) Put the printhead back in the printer and then reinstall the ink cartridges.

Can you please let me know how you get on?
Thanks, Ciara

Cleaned heads (first and second level clean)
    Aligned cartridges
replaced cartridges - it printed one sheet with faint black after replacing cartridge, then stopped printing black.
Let it sit for several hours
It still doesn't print black. help?

So it's hopeless? I have had this printer for about 6 months and babied it the entire time. Only use it when I need color prints. Printed faint black then stopped. did all of the things suggested- nothing. Replaced the ink cartridge- nothing.
What do I do? Sure makes you look crappy to your boss when you got to pick the printer and this happens.
Hi beccalecca, as the printer is 6mths old it's likely still in warranty. So if you've followed the usual troubleshooting I'd recommend contacting HP phone support as you may require a replacement.

  • Officejet 7000 Wide Format printing birds

    Hello my new HP friends.
I have an Officejet 7000 wide format printer, connected to a jetdirect box to print via NDPS. The people in the office are complaining that the printer is printing out 'little birds'. These are of course the birds on the alignment pages. Apparently it prints 2 of these per day.
Why is the printer doing this every day? The pigeons are starting to mount up.
    Thanks,
    Phil

    Hello MerlotLady,
The lines are indeed clearly visable and look like they are caused by the inkt not bleeding very well through the paper. In this case I would recommend using another paper. I checked the HP website for you and HP recommends using advanced paper. So any kind of HP Advanced Paper will do, either glossy or high gloss as long as it is from the HP Advanced line. A copy of the recomendation below. If this will not solved the problem, best thing to do is contacting your local HP support. Let me know if it helps.
    "Advanced photo paper
Best for printing with HP 02, 38, 60, 110, 564, 920, or 940 inks; you get vivid, instantly dry, smudge- and water-resistant photos"

  • HP Officejet 7000 Wide Format Printer - E809a - losing connection through router

We have an issue getting sustained response from our HP Officejet 7000 Wide Format Printer - E809a which is linked to the wireless network by ethernet cable to a Netgear router.  We have tried stripping out the driver software & uninstalling the printer from the register, then re-installing through latest downloads from the HP site.  This works, especially if the device is set as the default printer, but within an hour the printer greys out in the device register and the default automatically resets to another printer.  Does anyone know why this printer is losing its connection?

Hi , I see by your post that the default printer keeps changing. I would be happy to help you.
Uncheck the SMTP setting in the print drivers, to see if that will help. From Devices and Printers, right click on the printer and left click on Printer Properties, click on the Ports tab, select Configure Port, uncheck SMTP and the printer should show online again. If the issue persists, please take a look at this document. • Blink the catridge led one by one in officejet 7000 wide format

When send the test page the printer become offline and the led of catridge is blink one by one. Please suggest to how to resolve it.

Hello , I may be able to help you with the blinking lights on your Officejet 7000 wide format printer. Using the Blinking Lights on the HP Officejet 7000 (E809a) document I found out that the light sequence you described is related to the printhead installation. To make it easier for I have copied the suggested steps here for you; Solution One: Check the printhead installation
Use the following steps to make sure the printhead is correctly installed.
Step one: Remove the printheadMake sure that the product is on.Lift the top cover. The carriage moves to the center of the product.
Figure : Open the top cover
Wait until the carriage is idle and silent.Disconnect the power cord from the back of the product.Remove the cartridges. Press the tab on each cartridge, and then remove each cartridge from its slot.
NOTE:Do not leave the cartridges outside the product longer than 30 minutes. Doing so can result in damage to both the product and the cartridges.Lift the latch handle on the carriage until it stops.
Figure : Lift the latch handle
Lift the printhead straight up to remove it.
    Figure : Remove the printhead
    Step two: Reinstall the printhead
Reinsert the printhead. Make sure the green and purple blocks on the sides of the printhead align with the corresponding color blocks on the carriage; green to green, purple to purple.
    Figure : Insert the printhead
Carefully lower the latch handle before reinserting the cartridges.
NOTE:Leaving the latch handle raised can result in incorrectly seated cartridges and printing issues. The latch must remain down to correctly install the cartridges.Figure : Lower the latch handle
Reinstall the cartridges. Using the colored shape icons for help, slide the cartridges into their appropriate slots until they snap into place and are seated firmly in the slot.Close the top cover.Try printing again. You could also try the steps in 'Printhead Problem' or 'Printhead Appears to be Missing or Damaged' Displays for HP Officejet 7000 Wide Format Printers.  If the issue continues, I would Contact HP Support for further assistance. Fill in the model number and the form to receive a case number. You can view all other ways of contacting HP from their list of Support Options.  Please let me know if any of these steps resolved your issue, or if there is anything else I can do to help.    Thanks,

  • HP Officejet 6000 Wireless - Does not print black correctly.

HP Officejet 6000 Wireless - Does not print black correctly.
Previously the printer was printing fine.
This evening I printed a diagram I made in MS PowerPoint. The diagram contained black and red text along with black, red, and blue lines. When I took the printed page from the printer, all the black items looked faded. Instead of black, they printed as a light, faded gray. The red and blue printed correctly.
Another user of the printer printed some documents around the same time. These documents had nothing but black text. Every page this user printed showed up completely blank. The black was not even faded. There were no signs of anything being printed on the pages at all.
It seemed strange that one print job would print faded black and the other printed nothing. Considering the possibility that the ink was low, a new black cartridge was placed into the printer. The exact same results occured. My diagram printed correctly except for the fact that the things that were supposed to be black were coming up as light gray. Once again, the documents printed by the other user came up completely blank.
I ran a print test on the printer. It printed a Windows logo with the word "Windows" below. The logo printed correctly. The text showed up as a light, faded gray.
A third user printed an Excel spreadsheet. The cell borders were printed as a light gray. Nothing else printed. Everything in the spreadsheet was supposed to be black.
The third user also printed a recipe from MS Word. Most of the text showed up as a light, faded gray. Some text did not show up at all. I could not see any correlation between what showed up in faded gray and what did not show up.
It seems to me that if something was wrong with the cartridges, it would either always be faded or not print at all. I can consistently get some things to print faded and other things to not print at all. Color always prints correctly.
The print jobs were sent to the printer wirelessly from three different computers. Two computers run Windows 7 (x64). The third computer runs Windows XP SP2.
As far as I can tell, nothing was changed or done differently between now and the last time something printed correctly.
Might this be a driver issue? Since the printing consistently prints one way for certain files and another way for other files, I don't see it as being caused by hardware. If it's not a software issue, what could possibly cause the effects I described above?

This article should help resolve your partial/blank pages:

  • Officejet 7000 wide format

Please can someone help me -before I get carted off to the funny farm!
I recently bought a 7000 wide format and as I live in Spain, I had it sent out from Amazon to me.  No problem there - I installed it and started to print.  I was well pleased.....BUT....
after about 20 pages, I got messy print-outs. I carried out head cleaning, but there were still smudges on the paper.
So, following the instructions I removed the printhead and found there was ink all over it, so I carefully cleaned it and replaced it.
Now I keep getting the error message from the toolbox telling me the printhead either isn't compatible or is damaged.
I have tried to contact HP in Spain where the warranty is registered, but the site won't allow me access, as it says I don't
have an HP printer.  It says the model number I entered doesn't exist either, so I can't get any information from there.
If I have inadvertantly damaged the printhead, can I get a new one?  Someone told me that I can, but I just can't find out
    how and where.
I can't send it back to Amazon because, owing to a shgortage of space,  I binned the original box and packaging - so
    I'm totally stuffed.
Any help would be really appreciated.
    Thanks
    Lee

    Hi @Ratboy2k
I understand you are having some troubles with our Officejet 7000. I would be happy to help you. From your description, it sounds to me like the printer might need to be aligned. Please use the following steps to align the printer and let me know if doing so resolves the issue.
Load plain white paper in the input tray.
    Open HP Solution Center:
Windows XP: Click Start, click All Programs, point to HP, and then click HP Solution Center.
Windows Vista or Windows 7: Click the Windows icon (), click All Programs, point to HP, and then click HP Solution Center.HP Solution Center opens in a separate window.
    Click Settings ().
Under Print Settings, click Printer Toolbox. The printer Toolbox opens in a new window.
    Click the Device Services tab.
    Click Align the Printheads.
    - Source
If this does not resolve the issue, please print a Print Quality report so we can determine if the issue is the printer itself or somehow related the driver or program you are printing from. To print a Quality report, use the steps above, but instead of choosing Align printheads, select Print a Print Quality Diagnostic Page, and then click Print Page.
    The report should look like the image below;

  • HP OfficeJet Pro 8000 does not print black

Hi We bought an HP office pro 8000 printer which we have had in the box in a cupboard for the last 14 months (never been opened), I have finally got around to getting it out of the box ans setting it up, however it does not seem to print black only the other colours. The black ink looks fine and I can see it comes out of the cart. HP will not help with the problem as the printer is out of warranty even though it has never been used. Anyone got any idea's why it will not print black

  • HP Officejet 7000 Wide Format printing black AND white lines on photos

I am having some serious problems with my officejet 7000. I have contacted HP and have went through all the steps required (although all they could do is send me a new head and cartridges to help remedy the problem). This however has failed. Let me give a quick example of my problem. Although these 4 images are different in almost every way, they are printed on the exact same paper lol.
    <img src="http://a4.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc7/298367_2181658093219_999934383_32331922_448499237_n.j...">
The bottom two 4x6 are on HP Premium Plus photo paper.... Not cheap, and being wasted daily, trying to get this thing to print...
I finally had a break thru when I printed bordered on my 4x6 AND 8x10's.... The printer will work and print flawlessly on a bordered picture... This does not help me when the customers want a borderless picture though. When it is printing a borderless picture, it seems to be rushing through the process, but when it is printing bordered, it takes its time.... any ideas as to how to fix this?
It is a Windows 7 system. Ive tried wire and wireless printing to rule out communication failures. Which also concluded it is not software related due to reinstalling software for wire and wireless.
Sorry to rant, just getting fedup with what could be a great printer......
One more thing... Why cant you print 11x14 on a 13x19 page?!(no option for it  )

Sorry to hear about the issue you are facing.
There is an updated print driver for your product which was released:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=4062&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=3883...
Check if this newer print driver helps.
To answer your other query about selecting a different size media vs inputting different size, the printer actually does not allow it to protect it from overspray on the carriage.

  • HP Officejet Pro L7580-Will not print black ink after I have replaced cartridge.

I Have an Officejet Pro L7580. It worked fine until I replaced the black ink cartridge. After replacing it I cannot print in black. I printed 1 or 2 sheets when first replaced-then it stopped (only the black will not print). After a hard reset it printed 1 or 2 sheets then stopped (printing the black). The quality test page did not print any black and there were globs of black ink on the page. The color prints fine and it show a full black cartridge. Followed multiple troubleshooting steps, to no avail.

    Hi melissaccss,
I see you have replaced a cartridge and can no longer print black ink. I appreciate the troubleshooting you have done so far, but please take a look at the following document to see if you have done all that can be done; Fixing Ink Streaks, Faded Prints, and Other Common Print Quality Problems.
