Officejet 7410 duplex printing

I have an Officejet 7410 all in one with a duplex attached, i recently upgraded to windows 7 professional 64 bit and cannot figure out how to print two sided documents automatically, they only print manually where you have to flip the first page over and manually reinsert it into the paper tray.
I downloaded the latest's software "HP solution center" and updates but can't seem to figure out how to get it to function properly.
I have checked all of HP online support and do not find a solution. can anyone help or direct me to a fix please?

Enable the duplexer as described in the Vista / Windows 7 Duplex Troubleshooting Guide.

  • Officejet 6500 duplex printing paper jam

Every time I run duplex printing, paper stucks inside duplexing unit. It just gets smashed.
Is there a solution for that?

I have just bought an OfficeJet 6500 and am also having major problems if I try to use automatic duplex printing. The first side prints ok then waits a while to dry but when it tries to print the second side the printer jams every time. When I remove the duplexing unit the paper is always concertina'ed between the unit and the rollers inside the printer. If anyone can point me in the right direction I'd be really grateful! This is one of the features I was hoping to make use of.

  • Officejet 6700 duplex printing problem

Hi. When I select duplex printing on my new Officejet 6700, the image looks squashed (horizontally) so the circle looks like an upright oval. It prints fine when in single-sided mode.

    Hello again Nich7503,
Thank you for the update and the feedback.  Contrary to popular belief, we do value this information and want our users to have the best possible experience.  I've included a section of the User's Guide below, would you mind validating the duplex process that you used to get these results?  Just in case, the link to the User's Guide is pasted below these steps.  Thanks again........
    Print on both sides (duplexing)
You can print on both sides of a sheet of media automatically by using the automatic twosided printing accessory (duplexer).
NOTE: Two-sided printing requires an automatic two-sided printing accessory
(duplexer) to be installed on the printer.
NOTE: You can perform manual duplexing by first printing only the odd pages,
flipping the pages over, and then printing only the even pages.
    Perform two-sided printing (Windows)
    1. Load the appropriate media. For more information, see Load media.
    2. Make sure the duplexer is installed correctly.
    Chapter 2
36 Print3. With a document open, click Print on the File menu, and then under the Print on
Both Sides options on the Layout tab, select either Flip on Long Edge or Flip on
    Short Edge.
    4. Change any other settings, and then click OK.
    5. Print your document.
Perform two-sided printing (Mac OS X)
    1. Load the appropriate media. For more information, see Load media.
    2. Make sure the duplexer is installed correctly.
    3. Select a paper size:
    a. From  the File menu in your software application, click Page Setup.
NOTE: If you do not see a Page Setup menu item, go to step 4.
    b. Make sure the printer you want to use is selected in the Format For pop-up menu.
    c. Select the paper size from the Paper Size pop-up menu, and then click OK.
    4. From the File menu in your software application, click Print.
    5. Make sure the printer you want to use is selected.
    6. Select the paper size from the Paper Size pop-up menu (if available).
NOTE: You might need to select the paper-size option labeled Two-Sided
    margins.
    7. Click the Two-Sided Printing pop-up menu, select Print Both Sides, and then click
the appropriate binding options for the document.
    - OR -
Click the Layout pop-up menu, and then select the appropriate binding options for

  • HP Officejet J4500 duplex printing with Windows 8

I have an HP Officejet J4500 All-in-One printer that I purchased about 5 years ago when I was still using MS XP on an Off Brand computer. It worked fine and would print double-sided when I wanted to save paper on a larger print job. It would even show me on the PC moniter with an illustration when to turn the pages to do the back side printing. However, my old computer died last summer, so I upgraded to an HP computer (without the printer, since I had a good one already!), using the newest Windows 8 system. My problem is, the printer still woks perfectly EXCEPT for two-sided printing (and no helpful illustrations on the moniter!)  How do I fix that? Do I need to re-install the printer wizard or do a Windows 8 upgrade for the printer?

Hello there bevspets, Welcome to the Forums! I hope you enjoy your experience
I saw your post about not being able to duplex print on Windows 8 with your OJ J4500 series. I would suggest running the HP Print and Scan Doctor
to start, which should correct printing or scanning issues for you. If there is more of a serious issue, it will alert you to what it is.
Please let me know the results!
Thanks for posting, enjoy your day

  • Wireless officejet 6500 duplex printing issue

duplex printing works fine until i have a document that is 6, 8, 10 pages long.  that's when duplex printing would be the most efficient.  but after 2-4 pages, it stops, the printer displays a "print cancelled" message & i have to start over where it left off.  then i can get another 2-4 pages.
i recently did my win7 upgrade (from vista) but that has not helped any.
what makes it stop in the middle??

The first side prints ok then waits a while to dry but when it tries to print the second side the printer jams every time. • Officejet 7310 duplex printing

My printer has suddenly stopped printing duplex. It copies a document double sided ok, but won't print a document. I'm using Microsoft Word with Windows XP.
It prints page 1 starting at the top of the page and print the text to the bottom of the page and then throws out the sheet. It then prints page 2 on another sheet starting with the text at the bottom of the page and prints the text to top!!! This means I have to turn round every second sheet to get the document in order.
The pages that I'm printing are quite full of text and include the page number and a one line footer.

    Hello geoff34falmouth,
First of all make sure that the duplexer is "activated" in the driver of the printer. Go to Printers&Faxes and right click the Officejet 7310 driver (should be called something like HP Officejet 7300 series) and click on Properties. Go to the tab called Device Settings and make sure that the duplexer is set to Installed.
Second make sure that you have the correct settings in the driver when printing, so in MS Word click File - Print, make sure that the Officejet 7310 is selected and then click Properties. Make sure that duplexing or two-sided printing is selected.
Third thing you might want to check is the margins of the document that you're printing as the top/bottom margin needs to be a bit larger when using the duplexer compared to when just printing a single-sided job. Top/bottom margins should be at least 12 mm (this is due to the paper handling of the duplexer).

  • OfficeJet J6480 Duplex Printing not working

Duplexer is installed correctly with my OfficeJet J6480.  When I try to print a two sided page using AUTOMATIC setting, it prints a page and pushces out the page without rolling it back to print on the other side.  Any input on correcting this issue?
I have the latest drivers installed.

Hi, I had the same problem. There is a setting on the porperties page for your printer. Right click on your printer and select printer properties. When you get the properties page, select the Device Settings tab. Make sure the Duplex Unit  (2 sided printing) is set to Installed.

  • Officejet 7510 duplex printing

i bought this officejet 7510 wide format this week but i cannot print in duplex. can someone tell me whether it is possible or not?

Hi, Its specs says: Paper handling input, standard250-sheet input trayPaper handling output, standard75-sheet output trayMaximum output capacity (sheets)Up to 75 sheetsDuplex printingManualSource:  http://www8.hp.com/au/en/products/printers/product-detail.html?oid=7127211#!tab=specs That means you have to turn papers manually to print duplex. Normally with will print odd or even pages and ask you to turn the papers up-side-down the RIGHT way for it to continue to print even or odd pages. Regards.

  • HP OfficeJet 6500: Duplex printing

    Hello,
I've just bought a HP OJ 6500 and after recognizing the shipped-with CD contains "up to 10.5" software and drivers only I downloaded 10.6 software from HP.
I installed the software and added the printer in system settings.
When choosing appropriate driver, software update started and downloaded HP drivers from Apple.
Now I'm unable to print duplex.
No matter if I activate the checkbox or manually select double-sided printing in Layout settings, sheets are always printed one-sided.
Any hint or advice on how to fix this?
    Thanks in advance,
    Peet

    Hello again.
Downloaded and (re-?)installed HP PrinterDriver Update 2.4.1 from Apple download and now it seems to work ... At least this time it warned me duplex is not available with "border-less" (or "margin-less"? In my German installation it's "Randlos A4") printing. Switching to normal paper size, with no special options set, and enabling duplex it worked.
    Bye,

The most likely case would be the failure of the automatic paper sensor.  If you have "automatic" paper type selected try selecting "Plain Paper" instead.
If this corrects the issue then you may have success cleaning the sensor with a damp Q-TIP.  The sensor is contained at the bottom of a small black rectangular protrusion on the lower right side of the carriage that holds the cartridges.
If this does not correct the issue please provide some details of the issue.  How does the printer show it is in best mode?  The solution I gave assumed the printer was printing in photo paper mode, which results in many many passes of the printheads on the page. There are other causes of slow printing that may apply.

  • Wireless installation of Officejet 7410 on a MacOS X under Snow Leopard (10.6.8) fails.

I have an Officejet 7410 wireless printer. It is connected to my wireless home network, as is my new MacBook Pro running MacOS X 10.6.8. The printer works fine (printing and scanning) from Windows 7 equipped PC's. The built in webserver of the printer is perfectly accessible from the MacBook using various webbrowsers. The printer can be used when it is hardwired via the USB port to MacBook. But there is no connection whatsoever when I try to print or configure the printer using software downloaded from HP.

    Let's reset the printing system:
    - Sys Prefs, Print & Fax
    - Right (control) click in the rectangle listing your printers and select Reset Printing System.
WARNING - this will delete ALL of your printers!
    - Select the plus sign to re-add it. Look for the printer, select it and wait until the "Add" button becomes available. Click it.

I have Windows 7 SP1 Ultimate 64 bit and I installed the basic drivers for the network of the Officejet 7410 AIO printer and I checked that all its functions worked properly.
Now, the functionality of the scanner and fax do not work more as in the "Devices and Printers" not appear more their relative icons. How come? How do I install them manually?

    Hi balubeto,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I see that you are having scanning, and faxing problems with your HP Officejet 7410 on Windows 7 SP1.
    I would recommend the following:
Run the HP Print and Scan Doctor, to diagnose the issue.
Uninstall the software. Uninstalling the Printer Software.
Re-install the software using the HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows.

  • HP Officejet 7410 All-in-One no longer 'automatically' print double sided

After upgrading my PC from Windows XP 32-bit to Windows 7 64-bit my HP Officejet 7410 All-in-One printer no longer prints double-sided automatically.  When sending something to print I am presented with only two options: Print One-Sided or Manually Print on Both Sides.  If I choose the latter I have to manually reload the paper when prompted.  I have tried searching for updates and downloading drivers but nothing  has resolved the problem.  I've even gone into printer properties printing shortcuts and changed the settings in "Print on Both Sides" to 'automatically' and still I am prompted to reload the paper.  It is a real pain when I have to print a very large slide pack especially when the printer decides to pick up two sheets at the same time.  I have spoken to HP and they say my printer is old and they cannot help me.  It is about 8-10 years old.  Any advice would be gratefully received.

    Hello Toosweet
In Printer Preferences make sure the duplexer is enabled. Do you have the full feature software installed?

    Hi,
Please follow the steps below to configure the driver for automatic duplex printing:
    1. Verify the duplex-printing accessory has been installed properly. To verify this open the System Preferences and go to Print & Fax. Open the print queue of your printer. Click on Printer Setup and from the tab menu choose Driver. Verify the box next to HP Two-sided Printing Accessory (Duplexer) is checked.
    2. On the File menu, select Print. The Print window appears.
NOTE: The Print window might be minimized. Click the blue triangle next to the printer name to see all available settings.
    3. In the expanded Print window you will find next to Copies the checkbox for Two-Sided. Check the box.
NOTE: If the checkbox does not appear within the specific application print dialog, skip this step.
    4. To select the binding type click the lowest selection box listed as the name of the program (e.g. TextEdit)
Will appear as Copies & Pages within Microsoft Office applications.
    5. Select Layout from the drop-down menu.
    6. Set the Two-Sided option as Long-Edge binding (Portrait), or Long-Edge binding (landscape).
You may save the settings for future use by clicking Presets > Save Current Settings as Preset...
Please let me know of any problem,
