Also tried connecting directly from printer's control panel. Nothing. Printer cannot connect to server, try using proxy settings, etc...
Could somebody please help me figure this out?

  • Installed ePrint on Officejet 6700, now cannot print wirelessly

    Greetings,
We have beenprinting wirelessly with our Officejet 6700 for quite some time. This morning the HP Connect/ePrint feature was installed...now we cannot print to the computer wirelessly. I have turned off the ePrint functionality on the printer, shut down and restarted...still not able to print.
Looking for suggestions, or a way to delete the eprint functionality.
    Much obliged...

    Hello Bugaloo911,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
Sorry to hear about the Officejet 6700 now being unable to wirelessly since you setup the ePrint portion of the printer. What is the Operating System installed on the computer, Windows or Mac? Also, what happens when you try to print? For example, is there an error or message of any kind on the computer?
Setting up ePrint should not have made any changes to the printers ability to wirelessly print via a computer connection. Does the printer still show a connection to the network? If you are not sure, touch the wireless icon from the printer home screen and then Print Wireless Test Report. If there is no connection, run the Wireless Setup Wizard.
Try running the HP Print and Scan Dr on the computer, if using a Windows computer.
Once the printer is working again on the computer we can look into re-setting up ePrint for you.

  • HP Officejet 7500 E910 Network. When asked to print "Unable to Communicate with Printer"

My printer has been functioning well for some time.  When my some installed a new wireless modum I would often receive the error message "Unable to Communicate with Printer" but it would blink a few times, then connect and print.  As of three days ago I receive that message when trying to print from both of my laptops.  I am wireless and have checked the wireless signal and it is strong,  The wirless connect symbol is lit on the printer.  I ran a wireless Network Test Report on the printer and the results indicated no problems.
The printer woks if I use it manually to print or scan.  Neither printing nor scanning work when command is sent from my computer.  The Wireless Network Test Report printed fine.  Interesting though the Wireless Network test Report had the following date:  Jan-00-00 00:00AM.

    Hello @Dalead,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand you're receiving a message stating "Unable to communicate" when printing a document using the Officejet 7500 E910. I will do my best to assist you! I would recommend following this entire HP document on Printer Does Not Maintain Wireless Connection.
Try assigning a static IP address and let me know if this resolves your issue or not. I will be looking forward to hearing from you. Have a great night!

  • OfficeJet 7500 won't print via WiFi anymore even though pings are successful

This is a new OfficeJet 7500 All-in-One that I have been trying to get set up over the weekend but have run into problems.
First here is the system data:
From the EWS printer information page:
    Product name: OfficeJet 7500 E910
    Product Model Number: C9309A
    Firmware Version: EMP1FN1126AR
From the Wireless Network Test Report printed out Jan 23 2012 9:07 AM:
No problems found. Congratulations on the successful setup of your wireless printer.
    Diagnostics Summary
    Wireless On: Pass
    Wireless Working: Pass
    Network Name (SSID) Found: Pass
    Security: Pass
Printer Settings Consistent with Wireless Router Settings: Pass
    No Filtering: Pass
    Connected: Pass
    Signal Quality: Excellent
Other networks detected matching your network name (SSID): No

    Configuration Summary

IP Address: [It is static and working--pings are successful]
    Configuration Source: Manual

    Encryption: Automatic (AES or TKIP)
The Network Configuration Report concurs with the info above and also shows that the nearest three 802.11 networks are at least five channels away from mine, but the fourth nearest one (with a signal value of -83: mine is -21) is the same as mine (channel 1).
The computer I'm using is a MacBook running OS X 10.6.8
    Things I have done:
Confirmed that MAC filtering is disabled.
Tried to figure out the router firewall. As far as I know, it is ordinary, and there are no other firewalls installed anywhere. I don't know how to determine if this is a firewall issue.
Rebooted everything many times, being sure to turn the router back on before the printer.
Uninstalled and reinstalled via USB cable the full driver package downloaded from the HP website.
Assigned the printer a static IP address.
Changed the channel in the router.
    Disabled and re-enabled Bonjour.
    Searched the forums.
The problem I'm having is that when the print queue says that the printer is ready and I send a print job, it looks for the printer a few moments and then says that the printer is offline. Nor can I print from my iPad or iPhone (although at first I could). At first I discovered a workaround by turning off the WiFi radio on the printer and then turning it back on, and for a very short time (a minute or two) after that, the printer would show up in the queue as "connected" and the job would print. This workaround no longer works. I don't know if any of the changes I made correspond with that.
Rebooting the printer is another workaround I discovered that continues to work, but only for a few moments. If I send a print job right away or a job is waiting in the queue, it will print it right after I turn the printer back on, but then everything goes haywire again. Rebooting the printer with the HP Utility window open produces alternating popup windows reporting attempts to connect to the printer and then reporting that it can't connect. They alternate at a sort of frenzied pace for a minute or so and then the "can't connect" popup stays. After a while, if the HP Utility window stays open, the frenzied popups return .The rest of the time the HP Utility says the printer is not available, even when pings are successful, even when I can access the EWS, and even when the printer is actually printing a job.
I can't seem to figure out what Bonjour is or what it does despite reading about it on the Apple site. Here is how it has been behaving: When I reboot the printer it shows up on the Bonjour list, but when I click on it there, it disappears and a Safari popup says that it can't find that printer server. Disabling Bonjour seemed to change nothing, and re-enabling it seemed to change nothing either.
So that's the data. Thanks in advance to whoever can shed some light.

    Hello Sindigirl,
Thanks for the detailed information. And from that information, I can allready see that we are dealing with a intermittent bonjour connection. Bonjour is the protocol that all apple systems work with, they have the option to automatically detect new devices in your network.
From what I can see, you did about everything humanly possible to resolve the issue. If however the router that you used always has worked fine and did not cause any network issue's whatsoever, the giving the router a powercycle should often resolve the issue if it is a bonjour compatible router, if possible, please report the manufactuar of the model that you have and its model number.
For a workaround so that you can at least print you can use the following steps. Please note however, that scanning will not work with the workaround, since this is bonjour dependant.
    [1] Go to Apple/sys. pref./Printer and faxing.
[2] Click on the[+] to add a printer
[3] Instead of [Default] in the upper tab, select [IP].
[4] Switch LPD (line printer deamon) to HP Jet Direct Socket.
[5] Fill in the printer IP adress at the the Option [IP]
[6] Leave the printing queue blanc
[7] Rename the printer [Should have the IP adress as name at the moment]
    [8] Leave location blanc aswell
[9] Select [Add printer software] If a list pops up, the use the filter to lookup the 7500 driver, if found or allready reported then click add printer.
You can now print without any issue via direct IP printing. Please let us now what router brand and model you got.
    Sorry for any typo's.
    Kind regards,
    van Baardewijk

  • Can't re-install HP Officejet 7500 E910

    Hi,
Got in this morning and the printer wasn't working. I tried to fix it using the various steps in this forum but without a luck. Next I removed the printer, re-set the printer's wireless network and now trying to re install it.
However, when I tried to add printer via the Control Panel>Hardware and Sound>Devices and Printers, the computer does not pick up any devices (to be added).
When I clicked on 'The printer that I want isn't listed' and 'Add a printer using TCP/IP address pr hostname', then entered the IP adress, the computer still cant pick up any printer.
I have also unistalled the driver.
Can someone please help on how to re-install the printer and the driver as if I am installing it for the first time?
    Regards

    Hello @WestMelb ,
I understand that you are having issues installing the Officejet 7500 E910 onto your computer, in an attempt to fix the printer not working.
I would like to first as a few questions that will better allow me to assist you.
What is the version of Windows installed on the computer?
Print and share the results of a Wireless Test Report; touch Setup, Network, Wireless Menu and then Wireless Test Report.
What type of router is the printer and computer connected to?
Look forward to hearing back from you.

  • Tourbles with HP Officejet 7500 E910

I have my HP Officejet 7500 E910 network, now i can not connect to my network switch, nor by wireless. Also i can not move into the printer software from its small monitor, the bottoms on the sides of the monitor are not working, Any help how to retrive my printer back?

    Hello Primevent,
    Welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that you are having an issue with connecting over a wireless network.
I do have a few steps that we can try to troubleshoot this issue.
First off, please make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a power bar/strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer as an example but it is meant for HP products in general. Please click on the following link that explains the Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector.
I have also located a document that deals with when the Printer Does Not Maintain Wireless Connection.
If the troubleshooting does not help resolve your issue, I would then suggest calling HP's Technical Support to see about further options for you. If you are calling within North America, the number is 1-800-474-6836 and for all other regions, click here: click here.
    Thanks for your time.

  • Cannot print wirelessly from MacBook Pro OSX Mavericks

I cannot get my new MacBook Pro (using OSX Mavericks) to communicate with my HP Officejet4500 Wireless.  I can print when I use a connecting USB cable, but cannot print wirelessly.  All of my Mac software updates are current as of 4/20/2014, which included an update for HP printers.  When I used the disk to install the printer software, it did not have a screen for entering my wireless router ID or passcode.  In the Mac System Preferences for Print and Scan, my Officejet 4500 G510n-z is listed, but to no avail.  What do I have to do to get my Mac to print wirelessly?  Thanks.

OK, thanks for that.  It may indeed may be the problem, but let's check a couple of things first.
    1. On the printer: Setup > Network > Print Network Test.  Is the printer connected to the network?  If it is not:
         a. In the Network menu, Restore Defaults
         b. In the same Network menu, run the Wireless Setup Wizard to connect the printer to your network.
    2. On your Mac, download and install this: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL907
         Restart your Mac.
    3. Reset the printing system:
    - Go to System Preferences > Print & Scan
    - Right (or control) click in the rectangle listing your printers and select Reset Printing System.
WARNING - this will delete ALL of your printers!
    - Select the plus sign to re-add a printer. Select the Defualt tab on the top of the window. Look for the printer, select it and then next to the "Use" pulldown, select the printer model (not AirPrint). Wait until the "Add" button becomes available. Click it.
Say thanks by clicking "Kudos" "thumbs up" in the post that helped you.

First, I would like to ask you a couple of questions to clarify: When you installed this printer on your computer, were you able to print a document? Did the installation state it had a successful wireless connection?
I would recommend following this entire HP document on Printer Does Not Maintain Wireless Connection.

If you were never able to install this printer over a wireless connection through the software, then please follow this HP document on 'Unable to Find Printer' Error Message Displays on the Computer During a Wireless Network Installati.... I cannot print wirelessly from Macbook Pro: this is the error message I receive /Library/Printers/EPSON/InkjetPrinter2/Filter/rastertoescpII.app/Contents/MacOS /rastertoescpII failed. Can anyone help. I have been able to print on this printer for months, then yesturday out of the blue I get this error.

    "/Library/Printers/EPSON/InkjetPrinter2/Filter/rastertoescpII.app/Contents/MacOS /rastertoescpII failed"
I also saw this same error message above the Print Queue, ever since allowing the Epson Printer Software Update (August 2013) to install. After this update installed, I was able to print a basic Test Page from the Print Queue, but when printing from any application I only got "Looking for printer..." displayed above the Print Queue, which would stall and never print.
2008 MacBook, 10.7.5. It used to print to my Epson WorkForce 845 wirelessly without problems, before this software update was installed.
Changing the driver from "Epson WorkForce 845" to "Epson WorkForce 600 - Gutenprint v5.2.3" was a workaround that did allow me to print, but I wasn't satisfied with that.
Found this better solution in https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5233149?start=0&tstart=0
    (with thanks to Yuengdog1983):
This issue may be a result of the Computer Name being left empty:
Open System Preferences and choose Sharing.
Enter a name for your computer.
Even without restarting the MacBook, I was able to now change back to using the Epson WorkForce 845 driver v9.0 successfully. I never would have guessed that a Computer Name is required in order to print!

    Hey @Geneferg,
Thanks for getting back to me regarding this issue. Because your printer shows connected on the Wireless Test Report, I am going to have you run some standard Mac troubleshooting steps to see if we can resolve this issue.
Step 1: Uninstall Drivers and Software:
First, it's important to have a nice clean slate to work with. Therefore, I am going to have you remove and uninstall the software and drivers for your HP Envy.
To start, can I please have you click here and run through the steps on how to Reset the Print System for your computer. Please run through the steps on 'Resetting the printing system in Mac OS X v10.5.x or 10.6.x'. This will remove every printer from your computer. However, this does not uninstall the printers. Therefore, if you use other printers on your Mac computer simply ensure that the printer is connected through the USB Cable or network connected and (+) add the printer back in via the Print & Scan window. Do not add your HP Envy back in at this time.
Next, please click here and follow through with the uninstall steps under the 'Mac OS X v10.6, OS X v10.7, OS X v10.8, and OS X v10.9' dropdown.
Once the uninstall is complete, please proceed to the next step.
Step 2: Verify and Repair your Disk Permissions on the Mac:
Open Macintosh HD and go to Applications
    Go to the Utilities Folder
    Open the Disk Utility
Select the Hard Drive volume you are using (usually on the left)
    Select Verify Disk Permissions
Once that process is done, select Repair Disk Permissions
Step 3: Check for Apple Updates:
    Go to Apple
    Select System Preferences
    Select Software Update
    Click Update Now
    Install your available updates
    Restart your computer
Step 4: Reinstall your Software and Drivers:
Please click here to download the latest drivers for your printer
Once the website opens, select the Download button on the top left
Once the download is complete, please follow any onscreen instructions to reinstall your wireless printer
Once your printer has been successfully reinstalled please test the printing function again to verify if the 'offline' issue has been resolved.
Please respond to this post with the result of your troubleshooting. Good luck!

  • OfficeJet 6500 E709N Series ~ Cannot Print Wirelessly....

    TRIED EVERYTHING~
Here it goes: We have a Mac running OSx 10.5.7 and PC with Windows XP, and A Laptop with windows XP. Our Wireless Router is a Lnksis 3-G wireless.
I purchased the HPOJ-6500-e709n yesterday and have setting it up all night.  Tried this on the mac.
At first how I had everything connected.Ethernet Cable to the router, and usb to the printer. Set up went through all phases including fax. Was able to print fine. I was never prompted to disconnect the cables but directions included state you must test the wireless connection. I did and the printer did nothing. I reconnected the ethernet cable and was able to print what was in the que. However not wirelessly as I tried this several times.
Directions lead me to test firewall rules and check them. I added rules for UDP and TCP to allow all coming from the URL given in the network config page I printed from the printer. I also added the mac address to the list of allowed attached devices as I added access control as well. I tested this several times and also added the printer using the url. After I had done all this allowing all ports to connect it was able to allow me to view supply levels for ink and even print diagnostic reports wirelessly through the printer manager but cannot print documents.... WEIRD.
I loaded it each time with the correct driver and did all I can to allow it on all ports. The only thing that I can think of at this juncture is that we have a house system that apparently is running on here that I do not administrate. It really has nothing to do with it but I changed the URLs to start managing at 0.100+ as the rep wanted 1-100 to be used by there system so we are running it at 192.168. 0.101...
    What should I do?
    This question was solved.

OK, there may be something else going on, but try this:
Remove the Ethernet and USB cables
Make sure the radio is on (may not hurt to reboot the router and printer, too)
Delete and add the printer under the Default tab - the one marked with Bonjour
Reboot the computer and try to print.
