Officejet 7612 cartridge stuck

Officejet 7612 Cartridge stuck so carrier won't move. No paper jam. Am suspecting that one of the ink cartridge clicked out ... and is causing the blockage -- ie carrier can't move... No info in manual. No info on website. Telephone support -- over 1 hr 34 minute wait and eventually cancelled the call. I would like HP to stand behind their products. sdcinc

Hello,  Is the carriage stuck on far right in the printer ? If yes,Ensure the printer is ON, try moveing the carrriage ( which holds the cartridge ) from right to left slowly. If it does not move, then call HP Tech Support as the printer has to be serviced in this kind of a situation. Please call HP Tech Support for further assistance.

  • H470 officejet printer - disassembly (ink cartridges stuck)

My H470 Officejet ink cartridges are stuck on the left side. There's a plastic post (and a couple rubber covered ink sensors?) sticking up from the bottom that block the movement. Normally they must get retracted to allow the cartridges to move. Can't push them down. Tried multiple power recycling to see if it would go through a mode where the post gets retracted while gently pushing down on it. No help.
My printer is out of warrantee.
I need to know how to DISASSEMBLE the unit to try to fix the problem myself from underneath. It's most likely mechanical.
So far I've removed the two screws from the top front and two from the rear bottom. There are a couple plastic snap devices in the right inside front. Releasing those lets me partially lift the top right housing up about 1/4 inch. Seems to be stuck at the rear - maybe more plastic snaps, but I can't get at them. Also, can't lift the top left housing because I can't get to the plastic snaps (if they're there) since the cartridges are in the way.
So I need further disassembly instructions. I'm willing to cut into the plastic housing if necessary to attempt a repair rather than trash it and buy a new printer. I'm pretty competent both mechanically and electrically.
    Please help.
    Thanks,
    Jack

It sounds like something has mechanically gone bad in the printer; possibly a gear.  Disassembling the printer may not even be able to repair the issue at hand.  However, I will let you know that HP does not produce any documentation on the schematics or breakdowns of the hardware of their printers.
Due to the amount of time invest that would be required to attempt such a fix without any ability to know for sure if it will truly fix the issue, I would advise replacing this printer.  Have you considered calling HP Tech Support about the upgrade program?  The upgrade program is where one can purchase a newer model reconditioned HP printer, with a full factory warranty, at a discounted rate.

  • HP Officejet 7612 won't connect wirelessly since Windows 10 update

Update: I have the IP Address settled. I actually think it isn't a wireless problem... because the blue light is on the wireless symbol on the printer. When I get to the install network printer stage, it takes ages, and then says "unsuccessful network installation" so that is the real problem. Whether that also means the wireless connection between the printer and the computer is not established I am unclear. So hope someone can help  Thanks Selene

Hi I am stuck. When I first set up my HP Officejet 7612 on the same computer I am using now, everything went fine. I set the printer to print wirelessly and it worked great. I didn't use the printer for a week. Then I upgraded to the free Windows 10. Was running Windows 8. The computer- laptop is only 7 months old. Today, day two of operating Windows 10, the printer won't print wirelessly. The print window came up as if I was sending a fax, and there was no HP Officejet 7612 in the drop down menu of printers, just the Fax HP Officejet 7612. Problem solving done to date:Deleted HP software  off laptop and reinstalled everything. Still on wireless connection.Re-set printer to default settings and re-set up wireless on printer using the wizzard. Still no wireless connection.Rebooted internet. Didn't help.Printed HP Network Configuration Page and noted IPv4 IP Address was different on page one to page two. Tried 'other' IP Address, system told me that definitely was wrong.Retired original IP address - no improvement. In the middle of all this trouble shooting, I realised that the initial IP address that the printer gave me at the very beginning of this problem was one digit different to what it gave me tonight when I sat down to try and fix this issue. I am about to try the this discovered IP address. But if anyone can help, I would really appreciate your assistance. I am just stabing in the dark now. Thank you for your time. Selene

  • Why can't I print 11x17 on my HP Officejet 7612? Windows 8

Hello All, I have been trying for DAYS to print 11x17 on my new HP Officejet 7612 Wide Format Printer and to NO avail. I have uninstalled and reinstalled driver after driver and nothing has worked. I have seen on other posts that others with Windows 8 are experiencing the same issue.                               When on the print screen, 8.5x13 is the largest it will allow me to print. Others have had the same issue. (See Link Below)

Could someone PLEASE tell me why Windows 8 OS is so horrible. Just kidding, I just need to know how to get this driver to give me the option to print 11x17 on my WIDE FORMAT printer. Otherwise, this HP Officejet 7612 is going back to the store. Thanks in Advance,JessTandi

Hello JessTandi, Welcome to the HP Forums.  I see that you are having an issue when attempting to print on 11x17 paper. What is the software or printing program you are using when attempting to print on this size?  Please make sure the size is set in the software and on the printing preferences. We can run the HP Print and Scan Doctor just in case there is an issue with the software. Please feel free to write me back if you have any other questions.   Cheers,

  • Officejet 7612 Wide Format e-All-in-One

Hi, my printer shows a message wireless communications has been disabled, and I cannot access the wireless setup wizard,  can someone help me to fix this.
    Thank you

Hello @Grant2484  Welcome to the HP Forums
I read about how you cannot access the Wireless Setup Wizard on your Officejet 7612, and I would like to help you!
I would either suggest trying to restore the Network Defaults, or restore the printer itself to Factory Defaults. Definitely try restoring the network defaults first.
Select Setup, Network, Restore Network Defaults, Yes
Select Setup, Tools, Restore Factory Defaults, Restart the printer and try running the Wireless Setup Wizard again from the Network Menu.
Let me know what happens when you try to connect to your network again!

  • Officejet 7612 E All in one printer will not wake up from sleep mode or powersave

We cannot get a Officejet 7612 to wake up from sleep mode or powersave.  I have tried logging into the web interface but I am only able to delay sleep mode up to 15 minutes.  I need to shut this off or have the issue fixed.  The only way to use the device is to unplug the power cord and plug it back in.  The printer does not even respond to the power button.

    Hello,
Please try the  below mentioned steps... Firstly print an network configuration page by touching the Setup > wireless Menu > Wireless Settings > Display Network Configuration > Print info [Ok] -type in the printer's ip in address bar of your browser ( Internet explorer or firefox or chrome ), which would display printer inforamtion. click on Network Menu ,
click Network on Left, of the window.
click on Network Address (IP), the info will be displayed on the right side. - by default the selection will be on Automatic IP.- click on Manual IP and then type in the following..
printer's ip address in "Manual IP address"
subnet mask using the printed report in "Manual Subnet Mask"
default gateway using printer report in "Manual Default Gateway" Now click Apply. Wait untill the settigns are applied.-After which, power Off the Printer.
    -Restart the PC.
-Power On the printer.  Hopefully the issue should be resolved.

  • HP OfficeJet 7612 - Can't scan on OS X Yosemite

Hi, i am having trouble connecting a HP OfficeJet 7612 to a Macbook Air running OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 (14C109).
When searching for printers through the HP Utility setup or just by adding a printer it does not show in the list of available printers.
I can add the printer by IP address but i can only print to it. It says at the bottom of the window  "Please note: An IP connection is supported. However, only the print feature will work properly."
The printer is connected to the router via ethernet and the Macbook is connected to the router via Wifi.
    Things i have tried already:
Uninstalling the driver, printer and software with the HP Uninstaller, this includes a "Reset printing system…"
Downloading and installing the latest drivers and software from the HP website.
    Repairing Disk Permissions.
In EWS chaning the Bonjour Highest Priority Service to 9100 Printing.
Any help would be really appreicated thanks!

    Hi @JWest28
Based on what you have described, I don't feel the issue is related to the software or Mac, instead, I have a feeling the issue is related to the network.  Specifically, the Bonjour protocol or the IP setting.
    Please disable the IPv6 on from the front panel of the printer with the following instructions;
Scroll to the second screen of the home menu
    Touch Setup
    Choose Network Setup
    Touch Advanced Settings
In the IPv6 option, choose 'Off'
If the issue persists, let's leave the router on and unplug the power cable (NOTE: Do not reset the router.),  then do the same with the printer, and shut down the computer. After a full minute, plug the router back in, wait for it to fully power up, then plug the printer back in and wait for the wireless light to become solid. Once both the router and printer are on, go ahead and turn the computer back on. Doing this will refresh the network connection.
Also, make sure that your router can forward Bonjour packets, and then restart the Apple device. Follow these steps to make sure that your router can forward Bonjour packets, and then turn the Apple device off and on.
Step 1: Make sure that your router can forward Bonjour packets. Not all wireless routers support Bonjour or all of Bonjour's features. Since Bonjour is the default method for discovering printers on a network, you must first make sure that your wireless router supports Bonjour.
Check the specifications or support documentation for your router, or contact the router manufacturer, to make sure that your router supports Bonjour. It must also support forwarding Bonjour packets.
If your router supports Bonjour, continue to the next solution in this document.
If your router does not support Bonjour, contact the router manufacturer for options. Alternatively, you can work around the issue by adding the printer with the printer IP address.

  • OfficeJet R60 cartridges won't stay aligned

    Hi,
I've had my OfficeJet R60 since 2000 and never had any problems with it, however lately (within the past month or so), the print cartridges keep going out of alignment. I run the Align Cartridges function, and make the best selections I can (sometimes none of the options are aligned well), and sometimes have to 'align' it several times in order for the alignment sheet to look satisfactory. After that, I get maybe one or two good prints and then it's back out of alignment again. I've tried removing and replacing the ink cartridges, cleaning the cartridges, resetting the factory defaults, but nothing seems to solve the problem. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance for any help!
(Don't think it's relevant, but I use Windows XP SP2, the printer is connected via parallel port, and it's on a very sturdy/level surface.)

I have the exact same problem, allmost got used to it but still annoyng. Let me ask you a question...one or all of your cartridge chips are showing that the cartridge is empty(the "?" sign), am I right?. Because from what I gathered with my 8500a plus this seems to be the source of this problem. My printer is quite new so I didnt got to change any cartridge yet and one of my cartridge chips shows "?", and then my printer started to have this problem. First it froze when it jumped out of sleep(could not print anything utill you open/close cartridge/printhead door), then after firmware update they repaired the freeze problem but it still jumps out of sleep mode for no reason.
So am I right that one of your cartridges shows empty-"?" ?

  • Printer cartridges stuck

    Hi
I have an HP Photosmart C3100 All in one printer.  The cartridges are stuck on the left side of the machine, and they won't slide over to the right side like they should.  Whenever I turn on the printer, it tries to slide them to the right, but they keep sticking and jamming.   And as a result, I can't print.
There doesn't seem to be a way to access the cartridges from the left side of the machine.  So if the problem is simply a stuck cartridge, I can't fix it because I can't access them.   Any advice?  Thanks!

I had the same problem and was not able to use the steps in your post to fix the issue but it did lead me to determine what the problem was.  I have attached a photo of the piece that is broken and the piece that broke off.  It took me a little bit to figure out why I was not able to get my setup working even though it looked almost identical to your image.  The black piece that was not real visible in the picture was the culprit.  In the attached photos below to see what I am talking about, I removed one of the gears to be able to get a better view of the broken piece.  I hope this helps those that are still having the problem and simply lining up the gears and levers does not work.

  • Hp 7510 ink cartridge stuck on right

I have a hp photosmart 7510 . I just got through printer pictures and was going to change the color ink. I opened the printer and ink cartridge was stuck on right and won't budge. It keeps giving me an error saying I have a paper jam but there is no paper jam. I've turned it off and unplugged the printer and still saying same error message.

I have a question, when you open the carriage access door, and power off the printer using the power button, does the carriage try to move to the left? Otherwise, troubleshooting a false paper jam error is the same as troubleshooting a actual one.  Have you had a jam recently in the past? Even a small amount of paper left as a scrap can cause that message to appear.  I will provide the document for the error message that you are currently getting as a starting point.  Here  is that link. I hope this helps.
