Officejet 8000 pro - page allignment only partially printed

Hello.
I've got the following issue with my hp officejet pro 8000 A809. After reinstalling the printhead, the allignment caanot be done succesfully, it stops just at the beginning:
By the way, the print quality is pretty good, but the printer forces me to allign the printheads each time.
The whole procedure described in the article [HP Officejet Pro 8000 - Alignment Page Printed Before Every Print Job] has been done.
What else can I do in this matter?

Hello janetmtb,
Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the HP Forums I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More.
I understand the alignment is not passing successfully and saw that you have troubleshot a help guide already. The error could very well be related to the printhead so I have another guide that I recommend you use.

On almost every page printed, the left-most part of the first letter on (mainly) the first line of the page does not print.  Frequently, first letters on subsequent lines (not necessarily consecutive)  also only partially print.  Sometimes, interior letters have the same problem.
I have changed cartridges several times and cleaned print heads several times (although the test sheet printed when cleaning printheads is invariably perfect). Sometimes the very lowest portion of several letters in a row will not print.
The problem happens with different paper stock, different fonts, and different cartridges (including genuine HP cartridges.

It sounds like you have an issue with the ink drying out in the printheads.  This could be caused by a defective service station area (the part that caps the printheads while not printing), bad ink or by turning the power off to the printer before the printheads have been put away properly.
It would take a long time for a change of ink cartridges to actually show up at the printheads, there would be a significant amount of ink that remains in the system even after a cartridge change.  You say you have used different cartridges (including genuine HP cartridges).  Does that mean you have used non-HP ink?   I would suggest putting in HP ink and running several (three or more) cleaning cycles but unfortunately if you have used bad ink it may be very difficult to flush this out of the system.

  • OfficeJet 8500 Pro A910 display freezed on "Printing in progress"

    Hi,
I've a problem with my OfficeJet 8500 Pro A910. When I send a file to print the print queue on PC shows "Print error" and on the printer display appears "Printing in progress" but nothing is printed. At this point I must switch off the printer, wait some seconds, switch on the printer and send again the file to the printer, so the file is finally printed.
The printer is plugged by wired network and I've the same error on Windows 8 and Windows 7 PC. Why?

Hello and thank you for your update.
In my honest opinion and from my experience working in this field, it could be anything at this point. Your printer may be having an issue where the screen is freezing when you send a command to the printer.
You want to try everything before you determine it's your printer that is at fault.
Make sure you have this printer plugged into a direct wall, not a surge protector?
Have you tried to uninstall and reinstall your software? (To make sure that's not a possible cause)
How long have you been experiencing this issue for?
Also, try a hard reset. Click here to perform this step.
Let me know your troubleshooting steps and I will continue to assist you further.

  • Printing Problems on HP OfficeJet 8000 Pro

I'm having a severe problem printig PDFs on the above mentioned printer. The situation:
I'm working a small network of three computers, 2 machines are working with Win XP, Service Pck 3, 1 machine Win 7. The printer is connected to the Win 7 computer. On one of the Win XP computers Adobe Reader 8.3 is installed. On the other one Adobe Reader 10.1. With both, the Win 7 machine (Reader 10.1) an the one XP computer with 8.3 I'm able to print PDFs. The only computer that does not print PDFs on the HP printer is the XP machine with version 10.1.
To make it a bit more complicated, PDFs are not printed exclusively by the HP printer. All other printers, HP LaserJet, Canon MFP, do the printjob normal.
Does anyone have a solution to that?  Sorry for my bad English, I'm not a native English speaker.
    Thanks in advance

What is the full Adobe Reader version on that machine: 10.1.2?  Try http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/pdf-wont-print-reader-10.html

  • MG5420 only partial printing

Canon MG5420 wireless printer one year old. Has worked perfectly until today. Will print a page of text from MS Word, only if the the “Fast” setting (less ink) is used. When attempting to print a page of text on “Standard” setting, prints the top one inch or so, then spits out the rest as a blank paper. Print queue still shows a document remaining, which I then cancel. If I try to print anything containing a picture, same problem. So basically the only thing that can print is a text document on Fast setting, not on Standard and nothing with pics. Cannot print a PDF file. Ink levels normal. Have downloaded and installed latest Canon driver from their site, no change. Rebooted printer several times, no change. Disconnected/reconnected printer from network, no change. Any ideas ??

    Hi papachuck,
I would ike to have you print a nozzle check pattern from the printer to see if the inkjet nozzles are dispensing the ink correctly. If they are not, performing a series of cleanings may resolve the issue you are experiencing.  To print the nozzle check pattern and perform the cleanings, please follow the steps located here.
If you still experience the same issue after performing at least one cleaning and two deep cleanings on the printer, it may require servicing; please call or email us at one of the methods on the Contact Us page to obtain your servicing options.

  • Officejet 8100 Pro - chaotic flashing

    Hi,
since a week ago, we have problems with our Officejet 8100 pro. In between two printing jobs, LEDs and symbols on the printer's display started to blink in a chaotic way and the printer froze.  Only restarting the printer by removing the power cord could bring it back to life. The "blink code" is no usual error code as described in the online documentation, but it is more chaotic. Even the single parts of the ink levels blink. This problem now occurs most times the pritner switches to standby mode.
Does somebody have an hint? Is there a way to reset the device or to install another firmware?
    Thanks!
    dc

I'm also having the same problem with an HP OfficeJet Pro 8100.
Resume, Wireless and Power leds are blinking. Ink levels vary between two configurations just like if a debug message is being provided. Or the printer is nuts...

  • HP Officejet Pro 8500A Premium will not print docs from computer, but will print a test page.

HP Officejet Pro 8500A Premium will not print docs from computer, but will print a test page.  I continually get a message that the computer cannot communicate with the printer.   Not only will it not print docs, it will not print web pages using IE 11 or Google Chrome.
I've used Print and Scan Doctor, it always reports there are no issues and prints a test page even though I can't print anything else.
Each time I want to print, I must reboot the computer.  After reboot I have one chance to print.   This problem started February 15, 2015.
My operating system is Windows 8.1.   I have unintalled the HP software, rebooted, then reinstalled the software:
    OJ8500_A910_1315-1.exe
HP Print and Scan Doctor - HPPSdr.exe
    HPSupportSolutionsFramework-11.51.0049.msi
All versions were last downloaded on April 4, 2015.
I have a home wireless network (Ubee DDW366 router).  All other devices in the house will print to the 8500A printer without issues:  2 Toshiba laptops, 2 Android phones, and 1FireHD.
The desk top is installed with a Netgear Network card I don't know the model, but I had it tested by a PC Tech to confirm that the card is working.   The card and Windows 8.1 were installed on January 3, 2015.
I have run virus scans and malware scans.  Each time they show there are no issues with my desktop.  What kind of desktop? Specifically made to my specs from store parts. . . no brand name computer.  ASUS Motherboard P6X580 Premium.  Now I will probably get hacked!
I am at my wits end.  And it is frustrating when I need to make a print of something and the system locks up.  I often resort to screen printing to a word document to save in order to reboot. . . .but then I lose all sorts of capabilites when I salvage what I needed.  Also this is a time consumer.
This printer has served us well for two years and I have expensive cartridges waiting; another two rounds of refills.
    Help?
Addendum:  I can scan using HP Printer Assistance.  I open the HP Printer assistant, it "retrieves" info from the printer, then I select "scan a document or photo" and the printer responds.   I have no trouble with scanning.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 - Now won't print in Black Ink Only!

Hi! After previously owning the Hp Officejet 8500a pro and experiencing numerous issues related to the 'Black Only' printing! We then decided to scrap the HP Officejet 8500a and move on to a new printer! We did a LOT of research into the new printer and at the time of purchasing the 8600 around August 2012 last year, we found no online content of similar issues relating to the 8500.  We even contacted Live HP support to check if the 8600 would print in Black Ink Only with the colours cartridges levels at empty. The HP live chat representative informed us the printer WOULD indeed print in black only with all COLOUR cartridges installed and empty. Since we bought the new 8600, we have replaced just the Black setup cartridge with a Genuine HP Black 950xl. A few days ago all colours where at about 10% levels, apart from the yellow which then ran empty. We have been printing in Black Ink Only with the following message appearing, since the yellow ran out: "Yellow Cartridge out of ink, click continue to print in Black Ink only" As of this morning, the below message appeared with no option to print ink black only! "Depleted cartridges must be replaced to resume printing" The Yellow and now Magenta where out of ink, with no option but to purchase both cartridges, we replaced them and ran off 8 order sheets in Black Ink Only.  Both cartridges where replaced with Genuine HP. Directly after printing these 8 pages, the current Ink Levels are now: Magenta - 100% fullCyan - Has now ran out with a Red X (Annoying!!!)Yellow - Is showing a 10% Ink level with a brand new cartridge installed!!!Black - 40% full 1. Why am I no longer able to print in Black Ink Only with the empty colour cartridges installed?2. Why is the Yellow showing 10% full with a brand new ink cartridge installed full of ink? Does anyone have any advice on how to resolve this, I would very much appreciate some imput. Kind RegardsKev Challis

I know it won't print without a cartrige. I was trying to explain that this "problem" is one that needs to be prepared for in advance by not having empty cartriges installed. I am not trying to find a way around the way the printer is made to function. My printer came with the color cartriges that I plan on having for a long time because I rarely need to print anything in color. The link Jason posted clearly states that this printer, being a IIC, needs all cartriges installed in order for it to print. Here is the section:  For example, a driver color setting (by selecting "print in grayscale with the black cartridge only" in printing preferences) specifies printing using only black ink. In addition, many IPH printers can operate in "reserve mode," which allows the user to continue to print with just the black cartridge when the color cartridge is removed or not installed. In HP IIC systems, all supplies are required to be installed in the printer for the printer to function. (empahsis mine) Why it needs all supplies installed to function? I don't know and don't care. Why does it not print with empty color cartriges installed (the first question of the person that started this thread)? I don't know and it doesn't really matter. Have one set of color cartriges on reserve in case one of the ones you have runs out of ink. Don't want to hassle with this "problem"? Own another printer that is not an IIC inkjet printer.

  • HP OfficeJet Pro 8500 Premier doesn't print black, only color

The OfficeJet Pro 8500 was printing normally, then it began cycling repeatedly through cleaning the printhead so I turned it off and back on. I also replaced the black ink cartridge. Now it prints as requested with normal functionality in my hoome network, but it only prints the color features of a page, not black.
    Please help.

    Hello LindaSN,
    Welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that you are having an issue with printing black ink.
I do have a few suggestions we can try in that attempt to troubleshoot this issue.
First off, please make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a power bar/strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer as an example but it is meant for HP products in general. Please click on the following link that explains the Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector.
I have also done some research and I have found a great document that deals with Fixing Print Quality Problems for the HP Officejet Pro 8500 All-in-One Printer Series (A909).
Please feel free to write me back if you have any other questions or concerns.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8610 All-in-One Printing Preference does not have Print Last Page First option

HP Officejet Pro 8610 All-in-One printer:  Printing Preference missing Print Last Page First option.  Print lots of multipage documents.  Spending enormous amount of time resorting pages.
Prior to this printer?  .... grab printed stack -  staple  -  DONE!
Now?   Have to resort every document!
Anyone out there have a solution?

Reply to mkjohnson42. It doesn't matter what application I'm in. The option is NOT there. Just to confirm, I started from Word 2010, Excel 2010, a web page using Internet Explorer, Foxfire and Chrome. Plus, I did the old stand-by of going to Printers and Devices>Preferences. Under Preferences I have the choice to print on both sides of paper but NO Print Last Page First. I REALLY did check ALL of this before resorting to the Community. So, I really don't understand your question. Sorry.

  • Printer will print only partial page

I have a HP all in one printer C6250.  Sometimes but not always it will print only a partial part of a page or just select information.  For instance, I tried to print out a request form for an absentee ballot and it printed only the bottom part of the page.  All the print on the page was the same.
The day before, I printed out some concert tickets and airline tickets (in color) and they printed fine.
Last week, I tried to print a rebate form and only parts of the form printed (mainly the top part).
I have the latest drivers as I ran a test and all ink cartridges are full. I have to admit that I don't have all HP cartridges but the black one is an original one.
I also ran a print test page today and only the header printed with some partial character marks under.
I have windows vista operating system.

My HP C6380 printer only prints a partial page in Excel or Publisher. All others print fine. K

    Hello dhronek,

I see that you are having an issue when attempting to print from Internet Explorer.
So I can better assist you, please respond with which Operating System you are running:
Which Windows Operating System am I running?
You can try to run the HP Print and Scan Doctor.  IF the Doctor finds an issue, it will troubleshoot it for you.  If the Doctor comes back with no issues, this could be an issue with the version of Internet Explorer you are using and this is why it works with Chrome.

  • HP Office Pro L7480 All in One Printer only prints half test page then stops - Windows 8.1

    Hi
wonder if anyone can help with this one
Just replaced an old pc with a new Windows 8.1 Machine
I have 2 printers - An A3 HP printer and the Office Pro L7480
My A3 printer prints fine but the Office Pro starts to print a test page....gets half way down the DLL listing then ends and pushes the page out then prints another page with a line of garbage then pushes the page out then the printer stops responding and I have to turn on and off to try and print again with the same result.
    Printer is connected via USB
I have tried different USB ports
Uninstalled the printer driver and resintalled
Tried both 32 and 64 bit versions
My Windows install is WIndows 8.1 64 bit
If I use the same usb cable as my A3 printer the issue remains
If I switch back to my old windows vista machine the printer works fine
I'm convinced that the printer driver is the issue with windows 8.1 as other printers work fine and the problem printer works fine on windows vista and my windows 7 laptop
The drivers I installed are from the HP drivers download and the printer is on the compatability list for windows 8.1
    Any advice would be appreciated

    Hi @Martyn1060
I have a couple of ideas.
Let's first run the Print and Scan Doctor to see if it can identify and/or resolve the issue for us; Click here to download and run the Print and Scan Doctor> www.hp.com/go/tools.
If the issue persists, try the following Microsoft Hotfix; A wireless, high-quality print job to a WSD port is automatically canceled on a Windows 8.1 computer.
