Officejet K80 printing black pages

My Officejet K80 was working perfectly for 3 years and two days ago started printing each page solid black within the margins of the printed page.  Holding a printed page up to the light shows that the desired printout is there, but the entire page is printed with black ink within the margins of the page. Tried disconnecting the printer and driver and then reinstalling, but still get each page, including the "Print Test Page" printed with a large black square over the desired printout.  The system is Windows Vista, but it was working great so I don't think it's a system issue.  Has anyone heard of this problem before and is there an easy fix?

Hi - Try clicking on the Windows icon (lower left), then Devices and Printers, right click on the v40 and click Printer Properties.  From there, click the Advanced Tab and click on Print Directly to Printer.  I've seen this resolve issues related to printing from the internet.
Hope that helps.

  • HP2420 Laser Jet printer only printing black pages

I have an HP2420 laser jet printer that is only printing black pages.  I have tried 3 different toner cartridges so the cartridge is not the issue.  I saw that there are maintenance kits.  Could these help solve my problem and if so, how do I use them?
    Many thanks

Okay, now where was the paper jam located? Was there any paper torn off when you cleared the jam? As I stated before, almost sounds like a voltage problem, might be one of the contacts might be having an issue. Also, since the machine is new, I would suggest contacting HP, the machine should still be under warranty, if it is in fact new, and see if they can either provide service for it or just replace it. That is of course if you do not get it resolved.

How do I get my HP Officejet K80 printer to work

Check the HP site for a driver for your OS. http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?prodNameId=2 0497&lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=18972&prodSeriesId=30000&taskId=135
I don't see any drivers there for Apple computers but I did not do an extensive search.
If there are no drivers then you are out of luck, unless you can find a generic driver that will work.

  • C5280 prints black page when copying and scanning

    Can anybody help please.
C5280 prints a black page when I want to copy or scan but it prints ok from the computer. The light seems to be working on it. I am unable to reinstall with the disc as the CD drive is not working now. Does it need to be reinstalled.
    Thanks for any help possible.

    Hi @Dani77 ,
I see by your post that you are getting a black page when copying and scanning from the printer. You can print fine and you updated the HP software, the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet and you have the same results.
I would really like to be able to help you resolve this issue.
I wasn't sure whether you just updated the printer software on the printer or the firmware.
If you haven't already, please update the printer's firmware. HP LaserJet Pro M1536dnf Multifunction Printer Drivers.
Disconnect the USB or Ethernet cable from the printer.
Make sure the printer is still connected directly to a 3 prong wall outlet.
Try making a copy with a blank sheet.
If the output is blank, then try and copy a text document.
I will send you another step to try in a private message.
In the forum beside your handle name just click on the envelope to view it.
How is the printer connected? (USB/Ethernet)
Please let me know the outcome.
    Have a nice day!

  • NEW Officejet 4620 prints blank pages!

We got a replacement for a not very old HP Officejet, a new right out of the box, Officejet 4620.  It is networked with a Mac desktop and an older Macbook.  I installed it yesterday using the ink cartridges it came with, got it networked with both computers, and it worked GREAT -- yesterday.  Today it is only printing blank pages from the desktop!  Argh!  What's going on?

  • HP LaserJet p3005 prints black pages

    Hi
I have a problem with a HP laserJet p3005 it prints always black pages (like this) i install a new toner cartridge but i still have the same problem.
Please help me to troubleshoot my problem.
    Thanks.

Looks like a high voltage power supply issue with the black only.  Since the laser/scanner on this model uses 1 motor for 2 colors that would eliminate the laser/scanner.  Repair by a repair shop may cost more than the printer.  Only suggestion I can give to is do a google search for the service manual and download it.  Look for instructions for the removal of the high voltage ps and remove it and then put it back in.  There is always the possibility one of the connectors has become loose and is causing the issue.  Good Luck.

  • Printing black pages

I have Laser jet Pro MFP 127fw multifunction printer. A few days back there was paper jam. I removed it as per the procedure. Since then wheneverI print, it gives out completely black pages. Any quick solutions to resolve this issue. Thanks

  • My HP LaserJet 1536dnf Printer is printing black pages after replacing toner with a new one!

I changed out the toner cartridge for my HP LaserJet 1536dnf printer with a genuine HP toner cartridge and now it is printing out black pages.  Any suggestions as to how to fix this?

    Hi @Beaglemom49779,
I see by your post that you replaced the toner and are now getting all black pages. I can help you with this.
Did you have the same issue with the printer before replacing the toner?
It could be a hardware or fuser issue with the printer.
If the issue just started after replacing the toner then most likely it is the toner.
Make sure the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet. (don't use a power hub or a surge protector)
Number one cause of toner issues.
Inspect the toner cartridge for damage:
    1. Remove the toner cartridge from the product and verify that the sealing tape has been removed.
    2. Check the memory chip for damage.
    3. Examine the surface of the imaging drum on the bottom of the toner cartridge.
CAUTION: Do not touch the roller (imaging drum) on the bottom of the cartridge.
Fingerprints on the imaging drum can cause print-quality problems.
    4. If you see any scratches, fingerprints, black on the drum, or other damage on the imaging drum, replace the toner.
    5. If the imaging drum does not appear to be damaged, rock the toner cartridge gently several times and reinstall it. Print a few pages to see if the problem has resolved.
Please call our technical support if the there is a issue with the toner and inquire about a replacement, at 800-474-6836. If you live outside the US/Canada Region, please click the link below to get the support number for your region. Contact HP.

  • Officejet 4500 prints partial pages

My Officejet 4500 started printing partial pages.  I have tried unpluging it, and reloading it.  It will not complete an alinement.

    Hey @ACHO ,
Thank you for taking the time to post on the HP Forums today! Hope you enjoy the experience.
I understand you are experiencing partial prints from your Officejet 4500. In my experience this means either the top or the bottom of the page is being cut off and not printed.
Here is a document that addresses that issue. Printed Text is Cut Off at the Top or Bottom of the Page
Hope this helps! Have a great day!

  • HP Officejet J4540 Prints Blank Pages

Yesterday, my J4540 all-in-one started printing blank pages. I just replaced the cartridge a couple of weeks ago, and it still has plenty of ink left. I'm using a USB connection, and Windows Vista. I tried doing a search for what the problem could be, but haven't found anything yet. I also tried to copy something with the printer, and it copied fine, so I don't believe it's the ink. No error messages come up, and when I ran the HP diagnostic, it said there was nothing wrong with the printer. I tried restarting the printer, leaving it off for a minute and then plugging it back in, but that didn't do anything. If anyone has any ideas, I would appreciate hearing them. Thank you.

  • HP Color LaserJet 2605dn - prints black pages over print

thanks, I pulled out all the cartridges, and they all look the same on the left side, all look to be the same, so don't see anything out of place. Wiped down the inside while everything off and out, and reinstalled cartridges.  First test print from button on back came out perfect (was so excited) so I tried a second test print, and the black came back on about half the page, then a third test print and the entire page was almost covered (no longer excited) Hopeully original and these photos get approved to help show what I'm seeing.  Here is picture of contacts:   Here is picture of the three pages printed:

Looks like a high voltage power supply issue with the black only.  Since the laser/scanner on this model uses 1 motor for 2 colors that would eliminate the laser/scanner.  Repair by a repair shop may cost more than the printer.  Only suggestion I can give to is do a google search for the service manual and download it.  Look for instructions for the removal of the high voltage ps and remove it and then put it back in.  There is always the possibility one of the connectors has become loose and is causing the issue.  Good Luck.

  • Officejet 7210xi prints blank pages.

The 7210 at my office won't print.  You send it jobs, it goes through the whole process, pulls the paper through, and it comes out with nothing on it.  Black and color both come out blank.  I have tried re installing the driver.  Both of the catridges have ink in them.
    Thoughts?

Print a diagnostic page as shown in step 3 of this document.  Is the page blank?  If so I would suggest running three cleaning cycles from the toolbox or front panel as described in this document.  If after three cleaning cycles there is still no ink on the page then I would soak the cartridges in separate teacups with the printhead down in about 1" of very hot water for ten minutes.  Now remove the cartridge and gently dry the electrical contacts on the back.  Do not disturb the nozzles.  Put the cartridge back in the printer and try printing a test page again.  If there is now at least some sign of ink on the page the issue was due to clogged nozzles.  In this case running up to three additional cleaning cycles may help.  If there is printing after the cleaning but the quality is not good replace the cartridges.

  • Officejet 6110xi printing blank pages from ADF

Officejet 6110 connected to iMac Mavericks. Last several years has periodically started "grinding" noise and wouldn't work, eventual message was "scanner failure". Solution was to turn off, wait, sometimes hours, and restart. Recently, no amount of restarting heped. In desperation I took off top of unit, cleaned all glass and mirrors etc, cleaned rod on which scanner runs, applied very light coat of oil on rod and reassembled. Voila! It worked!
BUT, eventually discovered that trying to use ADF for multipage copying or scanning produces only blanks. Self-test report seems OK, ADF detected. There seems to be a long delay on printing with ADF, and finally it pulls the page in but prints only a blank. Have tried resets # 3, and # 6 (not so far # 9) without help
    Any ideas?

  • HP officejet 9130 Prints Blank Pages

Hp 9130 is full on ink and everytime I go to print it prints as normal, but only with blank pages. I have checked the print heads and ink cartriges and there is not tape on them that would prevent ink from coming out. I do not believe it is a issue with the print driver I am using because the test pages also print out blank. Any possible solution would be greatly appreciated.
