OfficeJet L7680 runs dry after 5 pages at a time

Hi, I have an OfficeJet Pro L7680 that, up until a couple weeks ago worked pretty well. The main symptom is that it starts fading on the printing, basically ink seems to run out on all colors but magenta. The cartridges were half full, but about a year or so old when this started happening, so I replaced all the cartridges with absolutely no change in behavior. Now on a second set of all-new print cartridges for all colors, there's no change.
I've repeatedly run the clean printhead feature once or twice per day to try to clear this up, but the printer starts fading after about page 4 and won't print fully again for about 10 minutes of sitting idle -- at which point it'll print 1, maybe 2 pages and run out. If left to sit overnight, then I can print 4 or 5 pages again before running out of ink.
No errors are being reported on the printer or via printer software.
The cartridges are all new and genuine HP and show nearly 100% full status.
Nothing has changed on computer or network -- happens from all computers as well as the test pages printed from printer.
I know my way around printers having professionally maintained and cleaned them over last 30 years as a computer consulting expert, but this one has me stumped and its my own printer to boot, not one of my customers.
Any help appreciated -- not afraid to take printer apart to examine specific parts if anyone can tell me what's the most likely culprit here!

I understand you have an Officejet L7680 that is not always printing properly and doesn't seem to respond to the printhead cleaning. I will certainly do my best to assist you with this.
I believe your culprit in this scenario is either the printheads, or the ink lines that go from the cartridges to the printheads. The ink lines on this unit are essentially hidden so I don't really have any tips on how to check them, but as you are a tech person, you may be able to figure that one out better than I could
As for the printheads, I will suggest you manually clean your printheads and then once that is done, run the printhead cleaning on the unit again and hopefully all should be well again!

You can do this using a meta refresh but the problem is you have to add it to the html file for the page very time you publish changes.
A better way is to create a splash page and upload it to the server outside of the folder produced by iWeb. Example HERE.
The meta refresh is added to the head section of the html file...

Hi,
I create CD labels with Nero9 Cover Designer. I select Neato labels 2 to a page, which are centered on the page. But my Officejet L7680 prints the labels left-aligned instead of centered.
Is there any way to fix this, other than buying new label stock?

Thanks for replying. In my post, I mentioned
"The best results I've had are from selecting "other specialty paper" on the "best" setting."
I can't chose "Max DPI" because that setting requires HP Specialty Papers. My ink levels are about half full. Although the different settings I tested showed minimal diferences, I know all this is a matter of how deep into the layers of the paper the ink is absorbed. As mentioned, I think the ink is partially absorbed below the gloss, so I think the spotty appearance comes from the light reflecting differently from the ink as some of it is below the gloss layer and some is still sitting on top of the gloss layer. I noticed there is a little bit of smudging no matter how long I let it dry. Like I said, for some reason, the Dell printer I had AIO Dell 962 I think, was flawless. I may try some additional settings, but I hoped someone out there would have already foud the best combination.

Officejet L7680 spontaneously "disconnects". New USB, no help. Uninstalled, reinstalled, etc

My Officejet L7680 will start to print, then after 1/2 page, the solution center pops up with "disconnected" message. I purchased new USB, changed port, reinstalled, etc. Followed all instructions from HP. Still no help.

well it looks like I have a working solution ... I downloaded a freeware file called process.exe . I made a cmd file via notepad with the following contents:

the XXXX is your printer serial number with an extra character or two. Pull that number from the port tab after you pull up "properties" for the 8600 printer.
This cmd file basically restarts the printer link. It opens a command window that launches the program to re-establish the link.. then it closes the command window. The launched program shows that the communication link is dead (just for a few seconds), but then it makes the connection... THEN you hit the close button and coninue your work until it dies again.
I may have it autorun every X hours if I can narrow down a good time. Until then I have a shortcut on the desktop to "FIX HP LINK" ... I only had to do this for my XP machines, as the vista one seemed OK.
What ticks me off is that I shouldn't have to do all of this diagnosis. It would be nice if there is a fix in the pipeline so the link stays stable al the time. I've spent hours trying to figure this crap out.
Anyhow, I hope the time I spent helps someone. PS, thanks to the OJ6500 thread that had the info for the scantopcactivationapp.exe program.
PS ... I'm still waiting for an engineer to contact me, if any HP employees are reading this.
PSS I haven't tried this without killing and restarting the hpnetworkcommunicator stuff, but it works for now.

My macbook is running slow after upgrading to yosemite

Other's have posted similar experiences by when I ran etrecheck I didn't get a bunch of fails and yet my computer is extremely sluggish since moving from snow leopard to Yosemite. So much so, that I'm considering going back. Programs load slowly and switching between programs has a delayed response. Reminds me of the PC I had before I bought my macbook in 2008.
Any ideas on what might be causing the slow down?

Macbook Pro still running slow after reformat

So my Macbook pro, which is about 3-4 years old now, just started running slow after the latest update i did, whichever the latest one was. Possibly a security update or whatever it was. So i decided it was time to reformat and just clear out the stuff on my computer so i erased the HD and reinstalled Snow Leopard. After all that it still lags and is slow. Its slow on things like scrolling down a web page, or opening programs, or when i use expose, it isn't super smooth like it normally is.
My MBP has 4gb of ram and 2.2ghz. I have also tried to repair the disk permissions, but didnt seem to help drastically. Any suggestions?

Have you applied all updates? Using Software Update or manually? Checked for EFI and SMC versions?
Don't you have any clue from Console logs?
Repair as T posted and bring back news and info about your Graphic Card.

Problem in running a jsp page on tomcat 5.0

i made a java class abc.java and then compiled it to get a java class file named abc.class in a package named pkg.
Then i copied this package in the classes folder of the WEB-INF folder in tomcat 5.0.
After that i created a jsp page in which i imported this class file. Now when i run the jsp page on tomcat 5.0 i get an error saying this:

Leads me to believe that you're compiling and targeting a java version that your tomcat installation doesn't support. What version of the JDK are you using?

Officejet L7680 won't complete a scan. Windows 8.1

I have Dell desktop with Windows 8.1. I recently had to install a new hard drive and reinstall all my software. Prior to that I had Windows 8.0 and my Officejet L7680 printed and scanned just fine. After the new hard drive, it will not complete a scan and the HP scan app gets hung up. I upgraded to 8.1 and installed the proper drivers from HP for Windows 8.1. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers a number of times. I've also used the HP Scrubber to remove all the software twice using Uninstall_L4.bat. No luck. Also tried HP Print & Scan Doctor and even it gets hung up. I'm about to just dump the printer and go get a new one. Since I've owned this printer I've always had issues with the software.

First, back up all data immediately, as your boot drive may be failing.
Launch the usual set of applications you use when you notice the problem.
Step 1
Launch the Activity Monitor application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Activity Monitor in the page that opens.
Select the CPU tab of the Activity Monitor window.
Select All Processes from the menu in the toolbar, if not already selected.
Click the heading of the % CPU column in the process table to sort the entries by CPU usage. You may have to click it twice to get the highest value at the top. What is it, and what is the process? Also post the values for % User, % System, and % Idle at the bottom of the window.
Select the System Memory tab. What values are shown in the bottom part of the window for Page outs and Swap used?
Next, select the Disk Activity tab. What approximate values are shown for Reads in/sec and Writes out/sec?
Step 2
You must be logged in as an administrator to carry out this step.
Launch the Console application in the same way as above. Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left.
Post the 50 or so most recent messages in the log — the text, please, not a screenshot.
Important: Some personal information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Edit it out before posting.

Running slow after downloading a mandatory update

I had zero complaints until today when I downloaded an update and restarted my machine.
Now It feels like I'm back in the PC world.
Any suggestions?

If it is Safari loading web pages slowly, I would suggest http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3230 or http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1594, one of these will surely help. If not, as previously suggested, more detail will greatly help.

Using af:clientListener after page load

Hi,
I need to run a js function after* the page finishes loading.
I tried to use <af:clientListener type="load" method="fillProjectList"/>, but the script starts running before the table on the page finished loading.
The table has: clientComponent="true"
How can I make the script to start runng only after all table components are loaded?

Why oh WHY do you want to fiddle with the server.xml file?
You don't need to.
Under tomcat is a directory called "Webapps"
This is where you put your web applications.
You will see there is an existing one there called ROOT - which funnily enough is the root one used for Tomcat.
If you put your hello.jsp in the ROOT directory, http://localhost:8080/hello.jsp will work.
However it is not recommended to use the ROOT directory. Make your own one.
Create a new directory in the "Webapps" directory eg "test"
Put your jsps in here.
under test create a directory called "WEB-INF"
Copy the web.xml file from [TOMCAT_HOME]/webapps/ROOT/web-inf into the new web-inf directory.
Now go to http://localhost:8080/test/hello.jsp

HT1199 I have been trying to redownload itunes. The download seems stuck on the "Running Package Scripts" page. It says "about one minute" remaining for the download but, that was 2 hours ago. Anything I can do?

I have been trying to re-download itunes. This is in an effort to try to recover my new iphone 5s which after the latest update, was put into recovery mode. When I connected to itunes, I was given the message that I couldn't recover the phone. So, support suggested that I re-download itunes. The installation seems stuck on the "Running Package Scripts" page. It says it only has about a minute left to complete this process - however that was over 2 hours ago! Help! What can I do next?

Disconnect the iPhone from your Mac.
Shut down your Mac, wait about ten seconds then restart.
Then try downloading iTunes > Apple - iTunes - Download iTunes Now
Do not reconnect the iPhone until iTunes is installed.
If that didn't help, the startup disk may need repairing.
Launch Disk Utility located in HD > Applications > Utillities
Select the startup disk on the left then select the First Aid tab.
Click: Verify Disk (not Verify Disk Permissions)
If DU reports errors, start up from your Mac install disc to make repairs.
