ISSUE:
Problems or issues may arise when an HP LaserJet series printer is connected to an uninterruptible power supply (UPS), a power strip, or a surge protector
This is not limited to Laserjet printers.
If you have the printer connected directly to a wall outlet, you can try doing Resetting the Printer.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus stalls displaying "Now Printing".

Hi, in the office i work in we have 2 HP Officejet Pro 8500 A910 Series. One is networked to 3 PC's running WIndows 7 and the other is connected via wifi to a  PC also running Windows 7.
The problem is the printer that is networked often stalls displaying "now printing" on the printer screen. The only way to continue printing is to turn the computer off and then on again, wait for it to do its cleaning etc then press print again. This is usually ok for that print job but as soon as further print jobs are added it has to be reset and the whole cycle repeats endlesly throughout the day. Until recently the other printer that is connected via wifi was working fine but now that is also doing exactly the same thing described above.
Recently i searched the forums and have discovered this is a common problem with this type of printer.
I have done partial and full resets of both printers to no avail.
Bothe printers are currently using firmware version: LRP1FN1126AR , which i believe is the latest firmware.
Please can someebody explain how to make these printers work properly? Many thanks

ok, i have done the most research into this issue of all people, as i bought 3 of them for buisness.
the most common problem is the printer will only print for 20 or so mins after a reboot, then it goes to sleep,
if attempting print after this time, it will display "now printing" but nothing prints.
after hours to customer support, and a new printer delivered, plug in the expired/refilled genuine cartrige, same issue.
you can wake up the machine tempoarily by opening and closing the cartridge door.
i finally got the lady from HP to admit there is a page count on the chips, and instead of an error on screen, they do this to avoid law suits.she didnt admit to the last bit tho, lol.
i have 3 expired , refilled genuine chips now, all do the same all after around 5000 pages.
    cheeky buggers!!
someone with time and money, please sue them , im tired of bieng ripped off.

  • HP OFFICEJET PRO 8600 CONTROL PANEL IS VERY DIM

I have the hp officejet pro 8600 printer. The control panel is very dim I can barely read the panel.  I have tried the trouble shooting suggestions and  adjusting the brightness on the panel.  None of this works. Any sugguestions?  Thanks for your help.

    Hello,
This seems like a hardware issue, I would suggest doing a hard reset with the printer, and making sure the printer is plugged into a wall outlet and not a surge protector.
If the step below doesn't work, please try and call HP @8004746836 and see what options they have to assist you.
    Hard Reset:
    Take out the toner/cartridges
Unplug the power cord from the printer and wall
    Wait 30 sec
Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall (Make sure the printer is plugged into the wall and not a surge protector)
Insert the toner/cartridges back into the printer
    Let me know the outcome

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 control panel is just a blank screen

My warranty has expired - and my touchscreen just went blank!  I have tried all the troubleshooting ideas others have (unplugging from the machine, unplugging from the wall, etc.). Nothing has worked thus far.
My question is - this appears to be an issue that many of us are having. Is HP doing something about this? Or do we just buy new printers every 16 months? I love(d) this printer - and I have found some work-arounds by using the icons on my computer. But it is not convenient and does not work for everything.
Please let me know if anyone has found a way to fix this - and if HP is going to do something about this very coincidental issue that we are having.
    Thanks!

    Hello otcheryl,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
Sorry to hear about the display screen issues you have been experiencing with the Officejet Pro 8600. I seen that you have also posted here: Re: PRINTER DISPLAY SCREEN ALMOST COMPLETELY WHITE (TOO BRIGHT/FADED/?). The troubleshooting provided by Advance23 covers all of the support options available with a service.
On the off chance you have not looked within the last couple days, I see that there has been a firmware update for this printer released just this past Friday.
If you have a Windows computer, a USB and a small amount of time, it will be worth a try.

  • Hp officejet pro 8500a - get "error - printing" on all documents

    Quick history:
Both my laptop and my printer HP Officejet Pro 8500 A910 have been working happily for months, with wireless connection via Belkin wireless hub.
    > Had printer jam errors - so just replaced printer under warranty - completed set-up - printed test pages - wireless connection ok (did wireless test report, albeit signal quality "Very low", but has always been like that and worked in past.)
    > Printing word document - just generates error "Error - printing" and stays stuck in queue.
Anything else that has happened in interim ...
    > I have installed LiveDrive in the interim to back up all my files on the cloud - works in the background. Can't imagine it's relevant?
    > Any help greatfully received, driving me mad!!
    Neil

Hi Rossainz,  I don't know that I can answer 'what is wrong with it', but I would be happy to help you figure it out and better yet, resolve the issue. Let's first try leaving the printer on and unplugging the power cable out of the back. Leave it unplugged for a full minute during which time you can hold down the power button for just a few seconds to help release and build up power, then plug the power cable back in.  If the issue persists, please let me know and we will see what other solutions might do the trick.

  • When turning on my Officejet 6210 the control panel flashes about 2 / second and I can't do anything

When turning on my officejet 6210 the front control panel lights flash about twice a second continuously and I can't do anything else with it.

It won't shut down, otherwise I could just restart it. that's the problem! It's only a year old. I guess I'll have to wait until it dies
If you are still under warranty and/or have AppleCare, call them.  Let them deal w/it.

  • Why can't I print to my HP OfficeJet Pro 8500A Plus All-in-One from my wired PC?

I have an HP OfficeJet Pro 8500A Plus All-in-One on my network.  My router is wireless, which several of my devices (laptops, ipads, etc.) use to get an internet connection, but I have one desktop PC that is actually wired to the router via ethernet cable.  For some reason, when I attempt to print to the 8500 from the wired PC, the doc just sits in the que, eventally registering as an 'error'. But all of my wirelss devices can print to it just fine.
Oddly, this is somewhat of an intermittent issue, as I have printed successfully from this PC before, but I can't right now.  I'll also throw this in: I have at times, plugged an ethernet cable into my wireless-capable laptop and had the same issue.  But then I just unplug the calbe, reboot, and turn on wireless, and can print without any issues ... so I suspect it has something to do with the fact that the PC is wired to the router.
Don't know if this has anytthing to do with it, but my wireless network is called 'FrogNet', but my wired PC doesn't see 'FrogNet' like all my wireless devices do.  It just indicates that this is part of a generic network.   Ideas?  (All computers run Win7.)

Hi. You are on the proper board!  Unfortunately to fix the account mis-match issue you are having you will need to share personal information.  To protect your identify and the security of your account I will private message you with what HP will need in order to get your Snapfish/HP Connected accounts synced up so you can use the web services!

  • HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus e-All-in-One (A901g)

I'm thinking about getting a MacBook...would the "HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus e-All-in-One (A901g)" work well with this and for what i need?
I need an All-in-One...I have an iPhone, so I would like the Air-Print feature...and since I might be getting the MacBook, I would like a printer that is wireless. I also want something that is good for printing quality pictures.
It appears this printer has everything i am looking for, but it doesnt say anything about being wireless...does anyone know if it is or not?? if not, can anyone recommend a printer for what i am looking for?
    thanks

Also is this printer quiet? I am considering this for a library setting, and don't need a noisy printer! Thanks.

  • HP Officejet pro 8500A premium, all-in-one printer, scanner problems

I have an HP Officejet pro 8500A premium, all-in-one printer.
Tried uninstalling using the HP supplied uninstall software and installed recommended OSX 10.8 software for this device.
I use wireless scanning. Scanner only scans the first page then shows an error.
Anyone have this problem as well and any possible solutions?
    Thanks

The HP Scan works just fine in Mountain Lion for me. Always has.
    OfficeJet Pro 8500 A909a
I think the original poster needs to reinstall the latest software for the printer that came with his printer or directly from HP. Then, install the Apple HP updates.
When he unistalled the HP software, it may have removed the software needed for HP Scan to work properly.
The last software I installed from HP was -> HP_Installer_Officejet_Full_Group05_10.3.dmg
Yes, there have been Apple HP updates, but they never stopped my HP Scan from working.

  • What do I do when I get the message my printer is not connected? HP Officejet Pro 8500A e-All-in-One

What do I do when I get the message my printer is not connected when I want to print wirelessly.? HP Officejet Pro 8500A e-All-in-One.  I have a macintosh computer using snow leopard.  I have used the printer for 6 months.  Nothing has changed.  I shut off the printer and turned it on.  The internet is working altough I will turn it off and on.  What do I do next?  Thank you.

The easiest and fastest thing for you is to reset the printer to its defaults and then just install the printer again following the instructions in the manual when you received it.  If you don't have these you will find this on the HP web site.

  • I live out in the county where WiFi is not available.  I don't have internet either.  I have purchased the ipad2 and have been told that I can print from the ipad2 directly to the HP Officejet Pro 8500A eprint all-in-one.  Is that true?

I would like to be able to print from my ipad2 or my iphone4 directly to a wireless printer.  I don't have WiFi at home or internet.  I am able to get my emails and use the internet thru both these at home.  Will I be able to use them to print? Any suggestions which printer?  I was told that the HP OfficeJet Pro 8500A eprint all-in-one should work and wouldn't have to use a router.  I don't want to go purchase this and try to set it up if it won't work thru the 3G network.
