Officejet Pro8500 A910g cannot print test page from EWS

I got this officejet 1 week ago and it has been labour to install ..each time I turn on the pc and tried the Officejet there was a problem ( scanning could not be done because of no connection , printer was not found..etc) I actually uninstall and reinstall the software and driver 6 times ...so far it seems to be ok but when I use the IP address of the printer and want to try to print a test page i always get an error " an error has occured click go back"..it happen each time I tried to print a test page ..everything is working well ..I can print from the pc but not from that page ..any ideas ? thanks
PC=> window 7 (64 bits)- connected through wired router
Officejet connected wireless ( same router )

I have managed to solve this by changing page settings. These were oddly reset when the printer was installed.

    Hello,
    I have a P1102w that worked perfectly through the last 5 month.
    Two days ago it stopped printing anything for some reason. What happen is, when I print something, it spools, but then I get Error-Printing under the status when I double click the printer icon in the "devices and printers" manager of windows 7.
    Right now I can see the printer in Ad Hoc. I can load the embedded web server,. And I can print test pages from the embedded web server.
    However, if I tried to print test pages using the printer icon in "devices and printers" manager".. it doesnt print!
    If I go to Devices and Printers -> Properties -> Advanced -> "Print directly to printer" -> Apply
    I got an error box: "Printer settings could not be saved. Operation could not be completed (error 0x0000070c)."
     The printer works fine when connected to other laptops (with exactly the same driver/setting)..
    This problem is driving me crazy !

    Hi m-rasheed, 
    An ad-hoc connections is much more unstable than an infrustructure network using a router. At this point i would suggest getting a wireless router, and then connect the printer to your network through the router.

  • HP 1055 cm Plus Plotter will not print Test Page from any port - Vista 64

    Hello,
    Have a brand new computer with the Vista 64 bit platform and an HP 1055 cm Plus Plotter.  I have downloaded the software and drivers from the web, and got it to recognize the plotter.  With the plotter as the default, it will not print a test page from any of the ports.  I have tried all of the ports multiple times.  I must have the wrong driver, or is there another problem I am missing? 
    Please help, and help quickly, my idiotic boss keeps hounding me and making the most ridiculous suggestions "try turning it on and off again" "Why do you even need a driver, just print it", etc. etc.  HELP!

    I have reset the selected printer in my Firefox preferences as described in the link that was sent from the-edmeister.
    I am still having problems printing. All I see in the print preview is the address link on top of the page and that is all that prints.
    I have tried using the print-selection also with no luck.
    My printer works with any other application such as Word or Excel.
    This all started after I updated Firefox to Ver. 3.6.3
    Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

    All of a sudden I cannot print pages from Firefox. I cannot even print e-mails. I am on Mac OS 10.5.8 using Firefox 3.6.17. All I get is blank pages. I can, however, print from Safari.

    I did as benshaine posted in his thread here: https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/789780 I installed Firefox 3.5.10 to my desktop, printed from 3.5.10 and then went back into 3.6.x and I could print.

    Printing a test page only prints the very top line of the test page.  This printer was working with Windows 7 for me. I tried to print a word document with the same result (only the top line of the document will print - and errors)

    Hi MOTORBOATIN, I believe this printer is using the built-in driver that comes with the Windows 10 Operating System. As a close look at the software and drivers section, there doesn't appear to be any full feature software and drivers through HP for this printer. So as long as your Windows Operating System is up-to-date, you should have the latest driver.  I would recommend to try the following steps:  Uninstall the software. Uninstalling the Printer Software.Clean boot the computer. How to perform a clean boot in Windows.Disable any Antivirus programs. Disable Antivirus software.Disable any firewall programs. Windows Firewall from start to finish.Create a new user account. Managing User Accounts and Logins (Windows 8).Reinstall using the Installing and Using the Windows Built-in Print Driver. (These steps will work on Windows 10.)  Hope this information is helpful!  “Please click the Thumbs up icon below to thank me for responding.”

  • Cannot print 1st page from tray 2 and rest of document from tray 4

    I have letterhead paper in tray 2. If I went to printer features and select letterhead paper The print will pull from tray 2. If in paper feed options I select the first page to be pulled from tray 2 it will not and pulls from tray 4. I've deleted the printer and re-added the printer and that did not resolve the issue. HELP!!

    First suggestion is to update to 5.0.2. Does this occur with the PCL
    driver? Clone postscript drivers on HP printers have been known to be
    troublesome.

    I have just bought this printer and spent a few days trying to get to grips with it. I managed to solve one problem when I could not access the printing preferences by reinstalling the driver.  I cannot remove the print page number and date and time stamps from a print. Please help!

  • Cannot print Duplex pages from CS3, Need to Upgrade ID?

    I have been working with CS3 InDesign which meets my needs fine, until now, maybe...
    I just purchased one of the new "all-in-one" Epson 635 Workforce Printers and was not able to bring up 'Duplex Printing' for two-sided printing, in the print dialog box where is should show up under output options. I'm using a newer MacBook Pro with Snow Leopard 10.6.7. I've also gone to the Epson site and updated the printer drivers for Snow Leopard.
    In working with Epson technical support, we were able to get Word to print a duplex document from my computer, but when I go to InDesign, the print dialog does not contain the option for duplex printing.
    Are there any solutions to this or is my only option to go for the expensive upgrade to CS5?

    I'm not sure everyone reading this thread caught the subtlety: the spool time when you print from ID is in the foreground where you cannot work, whereas if you export to PDF that can happen in the background (for most of us), so it doesn't prevent work in ID.
    Your PPD file does not demonstrate the "Xerox problem" I was referring to -- indeed, as you note it has:
    *DefaultResolution: 600dpi
    *ScreenFreq: "200"
    So I draw a blank. My best guess is your problem is something else, or that InDesign isn't finding your PPD file. Since PPD files aren't [usually] the norm under Windows, well, I dunno.
    As for the linescreen question, see the PPD Spec but yeah:
    *ScreenAngle: “real”
    *ScreenFreq: “real”
    *DefaultScreenProc: spotOption
    These keywords provide the default halftone screen angle, frequency, and
    spot function, respectively. On Level 1 devices, these values are the angle,
    frequency, and proc arguments returned by the currentscreen operator after powering
    on the device. On Level 2 devices, only a type 1 halftone dictionary can
    be easily represented by these keywords. Therefore, if the value of
    *DefaultHalftoneType is 1, or if *DefaultHalftoneType is not present, these values are
    the Frequency, Angle, and SpotFunction entries in the default Halftone dictionary.
    If the value of *DefaultHalftoneType is anything other than 1, the values of
    *ScreenAngle, *ScreenFreq, and *DefaultScreenProc may be meaningless and application
    authors may not want to rely on them for anything important.
    Note
    To builders of PPD files: Although these are not required keywords,
    *ScreenFreq, *ScreenAngle, and *DefaultScreenProc should be present even for
    contone-only devices, because many applications have come to depend on
    their presence, even though their values may be useless on a particular
    device. You should assume that some applications will execute setscreen with
    the values provided by *ScreenFreq, *ScreenAngle, and *DefaultScreenProc. To prepare
    for this, if the value of *DefaultHalftoneType is anything other than 1, you
    should put reasonable values for angle, frequency, and spotOption in the keywords
    above. If you don’t know what values to use, try 45 for angle, 60 for
    frequency, and Dot for spotOption, and make sure that *ScreenProc Dot is defined in
    the PPD file.
    I don't know if its completely ludicrous though. 1200dpi/220lpi is something I think of as normal, as is 300dpi/60lpi, your printer is 600dpi so 200dpi seems high but no more than 2x as high as what might be reasonable... "It's only off by a factor of two, the engineer said."

    Within seconds of selecting the disk and clicking on the install button the following error message comes up:

  • Hp all-in One remote prints test page but cannot find printer for anything else

    The HP All-in-One application can print test pages on my 8610 but when I go to any document or photo and try to print I get the following message "This Printer is not available." I have checked and have the latest version of the HP All-in-one Printer Remote application and the HP Print Service Plugin applications from the Google Play store. I am using a Samsung Galaxy 5 running Android 5.0. If I print a page from my laptop using wireless to this printer, I can see the All-in-One application tracking my printer status so I know it can see the printer.  The app on the phone will show the status under the printer name going from Ready to Unavailable to Ready as a document is printed and then finished. I am printing directly with local WIFI and am not using the ePrint feature.

    I hope you have a pleasant experience here. I'd like to help you with the issues you are having printing from your Samsung Galaxy S5 to your HP Officejet Pro 8610 e-All-in-One printer. Firstly, do you have the printer plugged directly into a wall outlet? The printer has a power moderator built in, so if it is plugged into a power surge bar or battery backup it may be getting inconsistent power. This can cause all kinds of firmware glitches (like the printer status not being broadcast properly). If that doesn't immediately resolve the issue, please follow the steps below: Network Power Reset: Let's leave the router on and unplug the power cable (NOTE: Do not reset the router.), then do the same with the printer, and shut down the computer. After a full minute, plug the router back in, wait for it to fully power up, then plug the printer back in and wait for the wireless light to become solid. Once both the router and printer are on, go ahead and turn the computer back on. Doing this will refresh the network connection. Restore Network Defaults and Reconnect:  1. On the front panel of the printer, touch your wireless icon at the top2. Select Settings.3. Select Restore Network Defaults.4. Restart your printer.5. Once it's booted back up, touch the wireless icon again.6. Select Settings.7. Select Wireless Setup Wizard and follow the prompts to enter your wireless network details.8. Try enabling the web services again. Another thing I would suggest, would be to download the HP ePrint app, rather than the All-in-One Remote. The Remote is moreso suited for scanning to your phone from your product, so I would suggest trying the ePrint app (you can download it from the Play Store). If the issue persists after these steps, please answer the following questions so I'm better able to assist: Are you able to print reliably from any other devices on your network?What brand and model of router are you using?What is it that you are trying to print? (ie. E-mail, photo, document)What app are you printing from? (Some Android apps have a direct printing feature)I look forward to hearing back from you and working towards a resolution to this issue!Have a great weekend.

  • Just installed the latest Canon printer software update (V 3.2) from the App store. Canon Pixma MX850 will not print. Dialog says job stopped at the server - no pages found. Utilities, print test page works. Printing via Airport.

    Just installed the latest Canon printer software update (V 3.2) suggested by the App store in effort to get printer working after OS update. Canon Pixma MX850 will not print. Dialog says job stopped at the server - no pages found. Utilities, print test page works. Attempting to print via Airport from a MacBook Pro. Also from a Mac Pro via ethernet. Both worked before updating to Yosemite. Canon Pro 9000 Mk 2 works via USB. Tried installing driver 10.84 from OS 10.9 as suggested by PAHU; no luck.

    The "stopped at server - no pages found" message would suggest an image with the print file that is created by the printer driver on the MacBook Pro. But if the Mac Pro is getting the same message then that is unusual.
    To rule out a couple of causes I would try connecting the MacBook Pro directly to the MX850 by USB cable. This action should result in a new printer for the USB connection being created automatically. If not then you may need to manually create it as you won't be able to use the existing printer that exists for the network connection. With the new printer created see if this will let you print without error.
    If this USB connected printer also fails with the same message then try a reset of the printing system. Note that this action will also remove the Pro 9000 from Printers & Scanners so you will have to add it and the MX850 again.

  • Officejet 8100e prints test page only

    New computer add to network, windows 8, network printer located on this computer, other work stations xp, installed printer to xp stations over network, prints test page fine, no other software prints to the printer. Updated firmware to printer, updated drivers, installed, reinstalled, installed, same issue. What is missing settings in windows 8?

    I understand you have updated the Firmware and uninstalled and reinstalled as well.
    I am going to suggest these steps, in order:
    Uninstalling the printer using this driver removal utility - Level 3
    Restart you PC
    Installing the printer using The Printer Install Wizard for Windows

  • HP Photosmart C4585 - can't print test pages + copies are all reduced in size

    I have 2 problems with an HP Photosmart C4585 All-in-one printer.
    Firstly, I cannot print test prints ie 'Network Configuration Page' and the 'Run Wireless Network Test' page. It sounds as though it's printing but it produces blank sheets.
    Secondly, trying to Copy A4 originals to A4 paper the printout is always reduced in size to about a quarter of the sheet (more like photo size) - no matter which setting I select. It's also printed blue.
    The printer is not connected to a computer but I successfully print A4 documents in black, from an iPad using the HP ePrint app. So it is just the copy facility which is malfunctioning.
