This model of printer does not support AirPrint for Apple devices. Here is link to a document that goes over some information and specifications for AirPrint. It also have a section that it dedicated to showing which printers are capable of this feature. Yours is not shown in the list.

  • AirPrint non–functional on office jet 8600 pro

I purchased my office jet pro 8600 a couple years ago. One reason was due to it having AirPrint capabilities. This functionality worked great for me until a couple months back. Now I read other posts about the 8600 AirPrint not working, and the response from support is to go look at apples list of AirPrint supported printers and the 8600 is not listed. I'm confused since HP advertised on the printer retail box as AirPrint compatible but now am told to check Apples site for compatible printers. I need AirPrint functionality so please tell me what is the correct place to find a printer that will work for me now and in the future. Is Apple the one that holds the master list, or is there really any list that will allow me to protect my investment by knowing AirPrint is support and will be a continued supported functionality of my new printer.

    Hello @nekiwi,
    Welcome to the HP forums.
I understand that you are having a problem printing from your iOS device to your Officejet Pro 8600.
    I would like to help.
Sometimes problems occur when the devices is upgraded to a newer iOS version.
Perhaps the problem occured after an upgrade?
More then likely you are just haveing a network issue.
Printing Over a Wireless Network with Apple's AirPrint FAQs
    Try cycling the network.
Turn the printer and the iOS device off.
Unplug the power cord to your router for at least a minute.
plug the power cord back into the router, and turn on the devices.
    Try a test print.
If it still does not work, try connecting to the printer through its wireless direct feature.
This will bypass your network altogether.
If it still will not print, there may be an issue with the printer.
If it prints, then something has happened to the network.
A work around you may find useful it the HP ePrint app.

  • Can I use AirPrint on my ipad2 with an office jet pro 8000 wireless?

I am currently using hp Eprint home and biz but can't print from pages
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

    Hi Unkljoey,
Are you referring to web pages inside the HP Home & Biz app, or are you referring to the actual app Pages?
Currently the Office Jet Pro 8000 Wireless does not support AirPrint or ePrint. The only way to print from the internet or selected saved files is to use the HP Home & Biz app. Here is a list of ePrint and AirPrint compatible printers.
In order to print web pages with the app it is required that you register the app itself with your eprincenter.com account. You can do this by selecting ePrint in the top right corner on the app, and then choose register with ePrint.

  • Lion and "powerPC applications no longer supported" with hp Office jet printer

I have an HP office jet 5510 all in one printer that is no longer compatible with my recent installation of Lion.  The "powerPC applications are no longer supported" prompt comes up when I try to open the app on my dashboard.  Do I need to buy a new printer? To have it be compatible with Lion? If I do, which type of printer and software do I need to be sure of to make the two compatible with Lion?

Possibly.  Check the HP website and make sure your drivers up to date.  If you need a new printer, look for one that says it is compatible with Lion.

    1.  It is possible you have a print job stuck in the print queue.  Double-click the Home button, and a row of recent Apps will line up along the bottom of the screen.  Scroll across and look for the Print Center.  If you find it, you should be able to clear it.
    2.  A bit more far-fetched, but I wonder if your iPad might have jumped to a neighbor's WiFi?  I have had this happen when the neighbor's WiFi SSID was the same as mine.  It showed up when I tried to print.  There are a LOT of WiFis out there named Linksys!

    Greetings,
I'm thinking of upgrading from an HP Photosmart Premium C309g-m All-In-One to an HP Office Jet Pro 8610 All-in-One.
I was able to create and use .pdf files on the C309g-m.  I have Adobe Reader on my computer.  Will I be able to do the same on the 8610?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Looks like you are talking about scanning to PDF.  Yes the 8610 can scan documents as PDF files. My suggestion: spend a bit more for a 8620 or 8630. Please check the following brochure, you will see why my recommendation is a 8620 or 8630.

  • My new ipad3 will not communicate and run my HP office jet 8500g printer wirelessly.  My daughter's Mac will wirelessly so my iPad 3 should right?

OK, bought my 1st Apple anything last week.....(iPad 3)!!  Tried to send a "OnSong" doc to my wireless HP Office Jet Pro 8500g today and iPad 3 can,t find the printer.  My daughter used her Mac wireless and sent a "Pages" doc wirelessly with no problem.  Apple support confirms that they are compatible but want to charge me $99 for a 1 year subscription right out of the gate.  I don't know if the issue is iPad 3 or HP printer?  Seems like my iPad is the issue since Mac has no problem?  Any ideas on what the problem is?

The simple answer is your printer is not Airprint Enabled, thus you can not print to it natively on your iPad.  There are options.
    1.  Purchase a new Airprint enable printer
    2.  Purchase an App from the App Store for about $9 that will permit printing.  Print Central and Printopia are two you could consider.

  • Cant set up my HP office jet 8600 printer with my iPad mini

Can't set my HP office jet 8600 printer with my iPad mini

That is not an AirPrint supported printer. Check for compatibility here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4356
Check the App Store for an HP app that may provide limited printing functionality. Alternatively, you can use your computer as a wireless print server using an app like Printopia. Note that your computer must be on and able to print for this solution to work.

  • How do I enable the e-cloud on my office jet 6700 and set up its email address

I have a new iPad that I'm trying to enable to print. (I never had any trouble syncing my old one.) I have followed the instructions but it's still not working. It seems perhaps it's because the printer is not set up for Cloud? Yet, There is an icon on my office jet 6700 that indicates it is cloud capable.

    Hi @Mes17333
Welcome to the HP Support Forums.  I gather that you are trying to print from your new iPad to your Officejet 6700 printer.
I am presuming that the printer is connected to your wireless network as you indicated that you were able to print with your older iPad.  To use Apple’s AirPrint feature you only need to have the printer connected to your wireless network and that the router supports Bonjour communication.
If you are using the HP ePrint Mobile app or the HP All-in-One Printer Remote app, then please click on either app’s name and it will bring up the appropriate FAQ document which will have the trouble shooting steps to get the iPad printing.
Please let me know how things turn out.

  • Why won't ipad print to HP office jet 8600 all in one printer model n911a ?

Why won't ipad print to HP Office Jet 8600 model n911a? My I Phone 4S will print to printer but Ipad won't.

    Hi,
The HP Officejet 8600 is an AirPrint enabled printer, there is no such 8600A model as listed above.
Try updating the printer firmware and check for any change:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c02919168&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en &product=4323659&tmp_track_link=ot_search
If the same persists it might happen due to lack of Bonjour compatibility or wrong configuration of your router.
Try bypassing the router using the HP Wireless Direct option:
Click the Network / Wireless Icon on the printer front panel and then tap on Settings.
Click on Wireless Direct and select On (No Security).
From your iPad go to Settings > Wi-Fi and connect to the printer's network, it should include either 8600 or n911.
Try printing and check for any change, if that works be sure to clarify your router brand and model to better understand if it support Bonjour and how that kind of support can be enable.
    Shlomi
