公司正在进行SAP BPC 10和SAP PCM 10的安装测试并进行项目前期准备。在安装之后发现，EPM Add-in for Microsoft的PC和PCM版本安装之后，本来在Excel里的u201CData Manageru201D菜单消失了。也许是PCM和BPC的Add-in不兼容。
第二个问题是使用Web版本的客户端时，PCM和BPC针对IE浏览器的Add-on有冲突。安装了PCM之后就不能够再链接BPC了。是否是ActiveX的问题？

BPC cannot connect to ABAP server

Hello Experts,
I'm facing the following issue when installing SAP BPC NW 7.5 SP04
When the installation is done (succesfully) I try to login to the server manager and get following error message:
"Cannot connect to ABAP server; Check your ABAP server configuration"
In the diagnostic, it is also the SAP ABAP Server connection that fails.
I'm installing this with a domain user called BPCADMIN.
In the ABAP system I added this domain user to the UJA3_WRITE_SYS_USERS program.
When I check the table: UJA_SVR_DEFAULT I see 3 times the domain\BPCADMIN user.
In the log file I get following error:

Strange enough, a ABAP connection with SAP LOGON works...

HI,
I checked the 3 BPC SAP ID (BPC_SYSADMIN; BPC_ADMIN; BPC_USER). They are not locked.
And all of them are communication users. I set the rules according to inst. guide.
I run the UJA3_WRITE_SYS_USERS program too.
The UJA_SVR_DEFAULT table contains these lines:
ADMIN -> BPC_ADMIN
SYSADMIN->BPC_SYSADMIN
USER->BPC_USER
I tried to login manually with these users, it is OK. (they were dialog users )
(the .Net server and the SAP BI system are not the same machines. I think this is no problem isnu2019t it ) Firewall are off on both machines.
Can I create these users at the .Net server side and login to win server with them?
I set these SAP users to BPC server .BPC_ADMIN is the BPC_ADMIN and so on. Is it OK ?
I have no idea what can be the problem.
How can I check they are BPC specified users or not?

SAP Operating System Users

The company wants to rename these users to meet their standards. In other words they want to rename <SAPSID>ADM to Z<SAPSID>adm and so on for the other user names.
I know there is a lot involved when doing this, but I need something official from SAP that advices against this or steps to complete this. Preferable something from SAP that is against this.
Can anyone direct me to some SAP documentation on the matter?

I don't think a company wants to make changes to standards/recommendations to maintain their standards.
Yeah, you'd think that, and that's been repeated back to the one's wanting to make this change. This company Does want to do that, they just do not understand what will happen and they do not understand SAP.
Which is why I'm looking for something official saying this Should not be done from SAP. Any Notes anything.

BPC is the strategic Business Planning & consolidation tool going forward. The other product(IP) will remain active as described in the product roadmap but the bulk of development and enhancement efforts will be focused on BPC.SAP is already providing the roadmap/ integration for BI/IP to BPC, from BPC 8.x onwards. The full details will be avialble soon.Again going for IP/BPC , will solely depends upon customer/client discretion & requirements, and SAP will always take care of the client's Investments spend on SAP.IP & BPC are two separate tools as of now/will remain as same.
Key differences:
1. BPC uses MS Office as it UI (with Excel being the main one) so end users are already familiar with the tool which reduces learning time and training costs.
2. Because BPC uses Excel you can take existing XLS workbooks that you might be currently using and add the BPC connection into them reducing development time.
3. BPC is a delivered application that is configured to meet modeling needs. Products such as BI-IP are tool kits for building applications so they would generally take longer to implement and require much more IT and technical resources.
4. BPC is a business user application that is designed to be managed and maintained by the business users that own the business processes.
5. BPC is function based (just as XLS is) so many of the concepts are already familiar to users. For example, the main query function is EVDRE which is used to both send a receive data. By opening a blank spreadsheet and typing =EVDRE() and pressing enter a wizard is launched that prompts the user for thier basic screen layout. When they close the dialog they have a fully functioning report connected to the database. This takes about 4 mouse clicks and less that 1 min, I think,in BI-IP will take 2-3hrs to do the same.

Hi Deepak,
It is not possible to get, you cannot officially get SAP preparation materials online. You need to enroll to SAP training course for getting the books. You may try to ask your colleagues / friends who took SAP training before - maybe they still have the books and can lend them to you.

BPC Service packs

Dear All,
I would like you to do a simple test:
1- Find someone who know a bit the SAP portal (or even someone who doesnt know it)
2- Ask him to download the latest service pack of BPC and its details (what the updates does...)
3- Go for a coffee.
4- Go for another coffee...
I mean by that, and this message is for SAP portal admins, the SAP portal website is a nightmare! The information is a bit everywhere and nowhere....Why not creating something simple to download Service Packs and its notes?
I am not new at all in their website, but each time I struggle to find the link for the download... I mean a real struggle...
So, today, I need the SP7, could someone give me a direct link? Is there a SP8, if yes could someone give me the link also?

SAP BO 4.0 Connection to ECC 6

My client needs demo on BO 4.0. He want reports to be generated by BO 4.0 on ECC 6. How can I integrate BO 4.0 with ECC 6?

Although this is a 4 months old thread, but enormously important to us. Need a clarification please (For connectivity to SAP ECC system).
We are using SBO BI Platform 4.0 SP2 (Version- 14.0.2.364)
We understood the Transient Provider approach to connect to SAP ECC system.
However, as we learnt from one of your published books, it is depicted there in a connectivity diagram that BI Platform 4.0 can directly access SAP HCM, SAP SD, SAP FIN using "Universe Based Access". We could not find an option from within the Information Design Tool to create a universe on the top of SAP ECC system.
Another SAP's official Presentation (SAP BI Solution Architecture u2013System Landscape #2-Customers using SAP ERP without DWH -) depicts in the connectivity diagram the Rapid Marts soultions for the respective SAP transactional systems in between the Universe and the respective SAP transactional system layer.
I'm little confiused here as how to exactly connect to SAP ECC system. Request you to kindly throw some more light on this for help us better understand the solution.

1.What kind of questions do we have? I mean is it choose the correct or T/F. Basically what is the test pattern?
2.What is pass percentage to clear the certification?
3. Can I take SAP professional certification without an SAP associate certification? I mean are they independent of each other? If they are not then what the pre requisites to write the SAP Professional certification

Hi,
you are running you system as dbo.
remove profile parameter dbs/mss/schema from DEFAULT.PFL
also remove MSSQL_SCHEMA from environment variable of your sidadm and SAPServiceSID users.
Check that it is removed by using the SAP MMC, right-mouseclick on the application server and choose All Tasks -> View Environment.
If necessary, remove value HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SAP\<SID>\Environment\MSSQL_SCHEMA from the registry.

NW BPC and MaxDB

My organization is planning a NW BPC 10.0 implementation later this year. Due to cost considerations, we are considering using MaxDB as the underlying database. Weu2019ve reviewed the PAM and know MaxDB is a supported; however, we are unable to locate a customer who has installed BPC over MaxDB. We would appreciate feedback regarding actual experience (i.e. performance, stability, etc.) with a BPC/MaxDB configuration.

SAP uses internally all instances of BPC over MaxDB.
I use internally in SAP BPC with MaxDB and it works very well.
Unfortunately, I do not have expertise with MaxDB + BPC + Production Environments.
As you are considering using MaxDB (SAP product) with BPC (SAP product), I strongly recommend you to hire SAP Services. They will size perfectly you environment.
