Official N-Gage always installed on Phone Memory

Hi,
I downloaded N-Gage from www.n-gage.com for N96, the downloaded file is named as n-gage_v1.20_1459.sisx,
then, transfer this file to Mass Memory via PC Suit and install it,
But, this application always install N-Gage to Phone Memory(C), and no option for chooseing install to Mass Memory(E).
Why????????
P.S.: I have used 3 keys way formatted my N96, after formatting, N-Gage application is gone, so I downloaded one from n-gage.com and found above issue.
Please help.
Thanks

hi, for some reason before, i downloaded n gage to my 2g memory card. now i try to download games, it wont. But now i think i found the solution. when i took out my memory card and put it back in, n gage is gone. so i figure i downloaded n gage in my mmc. so i try to download n gage in my fone but it needs 10.3 mb and i only have 10 left. it may sound dumb becuase i should just delete some other stuff but is there anyway i can download n gage in my fone through using my mmc ? if not how can i download it to my fone using phone memory ?

I am not sure how to use the phone memory and the card memory on my N70. I thought that the memory card was simply an overflow which was activated when my phone memory was full. However when I download music from my PC and my phone memory is full I will get the message "not enough memory". Obviously I'm being a "thicko" again. Help!Message Edited by holein1 on 26-Apr-2006

It doesn't quite work in the way you suggest. You will always have the option to use the memory card instead of the phone memory. If you want your phone to have a fairly quick response time it's best practice to keep as much free phone memory as possible, eg. of my approx 20MB, I use about 5MB which leaves approx 15MB unused. There are some files I do store in phone memory in order to keep my N70 running relatively quick and that's actively used ringtones and any themes that I currently use.
When you install 3rd party applications, your phone will ask you whether you want to install to phone memory or to the memory card.
If your having issues of filling up the phone memory with incoming messages then you can choose to have incoming messages routed directly to your memory card thus bypassing the phone memory. To access the setting go to:
Menu > Messaging > Options > Settings > Other > Memory in use
Change memory in use from phone memory to memory card.
This should cure your "not enough memory" error messages.

  • 5230-Phone memory vs Memory card memory

How to move messages from phone memory to memory card?
Because, in messaging - options- settings-other-memory in use- if i set it to memory cars, phone memory messages are hidden....so how to transfer them to memory card...
    Pl help

1: If you have Opera Mobile installed, Clear cache.
    2. If you have too many "Saved pages" in Opera Mobile, delete those.
    3. If you are using Opera Mini, change its "Saved Pages Location" to somewhere on memory card.
    4. If using Ovi Music, Clear cache.
If you have installed any other application which uses phone memory to store Temporary files change its location to memory card, if it allows you...
Also Go to Settings>application manager>installed apps>do you see a mini memory card icon on the right side of each application you installed?
If you don't see that icon that means they are installed on phone memory, uninstall them and reinstall on memory card. (please don't mind if you already know these thing, i am just trying to explain to make it clear if you don't know).
And the ultimate way to free up Maximum phone memory is to do a reset, which i'd recommend to do ONLY IF YOU WANT THE PHONE MEMORY BACK ON EVERY COST. Just ask if you don't know how to do that.

  • Unable to install updates due to lack of space in phone memory

    Hello,
I am unable to install software updates into my phone due to lack of space in phone memory. Some non movable apps need to be moved to sd card. Give me suggetion.

    @Sekhar1987,
Unfortunately you can not move apps from phone memory to the SD card without rooting. (rooting will void your warranty)
Search the forum and you'll find many similar topics.

  • Software install only in phone memory

Its a very big problem that nokia lumia phone is not allow to download application in sd card. And some of software like youtube and hot songs and software like you tube downloader has their own offline storage so what ever we store it store in to phone memory which is limited, and we also can't transfer this thing to sd card. Why windows phone? If this phone is like that we should not buy it right guys?

Application install on the SD Card will be available with the upcoming WP8.1 update slated for release during Q3 of 2014.

  • Nokia 5800 - phone memory always full

got my phone yesterday from prepay mania, i hav an 8gb memory card in it btw, whenever i go to the menu i get messages saying c: phone memory full, please delete some data. sometimes it doesnt let me access particular features such as "settings" and even returns me to my home screen
my question was how do i move all my future downloads and all the stuff on my phone memory to my memory card, so i wont get these messages coming up all the time
Message Edited by roshan93 on 08-Jul-2009 08:57 AM

if you have installed applications, uninstall them and reinstall them but this time choose the memory card as your main destination (the application should ask where do you want to install it). Also, if you have configured an email account, make sure you choose the memory card to store your emails (go to the messaging/email application, select options - settings - other and where it says memory in use select E: Memory Card (instead of phone memory). Finally, if you have been using the Web application, go to options - clear privacy data (select cache and cookies).
If none of these options solve your problem, then do a hard reset (after backing up the phone, of course)
    Hope it helps..

    Go to the application list
Scroll to and open Storage sense

Select a category (apps + games, music, videos, podcasts, photos)
    Select the app
    Tap 'move to SD card'

  • How can I recover my phone memory after the software update...

    Hi,
My has been dead for one day, after continuous trying, I got a pop window to install the updates. I thought only updates and clicked on it. But it took long time and my phone got reset. All my data which was stored on phone memory got wiped out. I didn't use blackberry link before. First time I used it and it was happened like this.
Please help me how can I recover that data again. Please guys..I lost very important data..plz do help me..

    Hello,
Restore depends on a source of data from which to restore. BB provides plenty of FREE methods to backup your data and thereby protect that priceless resource. If you did not avail yourself of that, then you have migrated from the latter to the former in this old saying...there are 2 kinds of computing device users -- those who have lost data, and those who will. Backups, like insurance, are neither a reactive nor an optional activity.

  • NO phone memory - N97 - Absolutely RIDICULOUS

Right, my phone memory (C is now down to about 200kb. I've not really got anything installed on it other than email and maps, also I store my messages on my mass memory. Yet my C: drive just shrinks and shrinks. I'm now left with not even enough memory to send an email. It's an absolute joke.
Does anyone have any ideas what I can do with this phone, other than throw it in a river? I'm just disgusted with the piece of junk. Shame on you, Nokia. Shame on you. I will never buy another phone from you again. This is the last straw.

For messaging all your messages can be saved to E, assuming you are useing the standard email client and NOT Nokia Messaging, which both has to install on and save messages to C, which is why I don;t use it ! The rest of the advice is pretty straight forward, but there are 100's of threads on the forum regarding saving and optimising the C memory on the N97, do a couple of searches in the search function on the forum !

  • Missing phone memory theory

I think i might be the only one suffering with this problem, but anyway. I've been losing alot of memory on my N8. Mass memory and memory card lost 1gb, i actually pulled out the card now and never install much. Just a few essential apps like Foursquare and Opera Mini. The phone memory, however, drops at certain times, and this is what i noticed: I always use Xplore to open .rar files. Open the files, which are usually temporary extracted and deleted afterwards. It seems with Belle, its saving the temp extracted files. I'm actually down to 40mb now because of this. If you go into the file manager and check details, it says other files are 123mb, and there is nothing on phone memory. Just be careful when using Xplore. Don't open rar files because you won't be able to find the files that are taking up the memory

  • Nokia (N8) phone memory : best practices / guide t...

    Hi,
I'd like to know what are the best practices to manage space / memory on my phone.
On the N8 user guide, it is simply written : "If possible, install applications to the mass
memory or memory card, rather than the device memory." (p.112) And that's all !
If I understood well there are 3 types of memory on N8 :
    256 Mo RAM
    512 Mo ROM (Phone memory, C: )
    16 Go storage (Mass memory, E: )
[and also 32GB expendable memory SDHC card 4x minimum]
Since I bought my N8, I installed everything (apps and multimedia files) on E: (mass memory)
    Today I have on :
C: Phone memory : 158 Mo free space over 254,4 Mo
    E: Mass memory : 732,1 Mo / 14,3 Go (with 12,3 Go of MP3 files)
I am using a software called Netqin Mobile Guard for S^3 (which by the way I like a lot, especially the "prompt for connection" and the "web usage manager" functions) and it tells me that I have "insufficient memory on disk E:"
So here are my questions :
1 - Is it true that 732 Mo free on disk E: is not enough ?
2 - Why is better to install everything on mass memory if there is 256 Mo RAM and free space on phone memory ?
3 - If I use a SDHC card to free some space on E: (move all my MP3 files), will it consumes more battery power?
I spent some time looking for answers on internet but I didn't find any to these questions... Any help would be much appreciated. Also if you have any advice on RAM optimisation, I'd take it ! My way to optimise it is to close all apps I'm not using from the app manager. Thanks in advance and sorry for the long post, but I think it would be helpful for a lot of people!
    Regards

Question 1.> 732MB is what is left on the internal mass memory. NetQin is just warning you that you do not have much storage left if you want to add more files. The " insufficient memory on disk E " is just an over dramatic warning in my opinion.
--> this is also what I thought but as I wrote in my previous answer, I'd like to be sure my phone is not going to crash if my data reach 99% of E: capacity
Question 2. > It is better to leave as much free memory as possible on the C drive to give the phone better performance. The less memory their is on C the slower the phone becomes.
--> that's what I understood from what I've read but does it mean that "C: memory" is used more or less as additional RAM memory? Or is it just (as you say about Netqin app.) an "over dramatic warning" from Nokia to prevent users from reaching full capacity and then crashing the phone?
Question 3. > I'm not sure by adding an SD card would consume any significant amount of extra power. Unless you are permanently accessing the SD card. It wont consume extra power when the phone is idle.
--> then I may need to buy a SD card to  store all my MP3s and let everything else on the mass memory. I asked this question 'cause I remember having noticed using a palm with a sd card (I know this is old stuff) that it impacted the battery.
It would be nice to have official statements from Nokia on these topics, don't you think?
    Thanks anyway for your answers!

  • Delete file from NOKIA C5-03 phone memory

I still face a problem that when I buy mobile then phone memory was 40MB, but now it reduced to 30MB. I try to browse and remove unwanted file from phone memory. But nothing gonna happen.  I also use pc suite, mass storage etc, but can't. What can I do now?

Try clearing browser cache and your messages from inbox. Try installing ET optimizer or netqin mobile guard. They both can be used to remove trash files.

    Hello,
I too am a Nokia Lumia 720 user. I went to the 'Storage Check' section, and checked the breakup of the memory usage, which showed 808MB temp files stored. I clicked on 'Clear' and now it shows 727MB of temp files stored. I tried clicking on the clear button multiple number of time, but it just doesn't clear those files. It's stuck on 727MB. Kindly help me with this predicament. Thanks a lot.
Not all the files in "Other" storage are unnecessary/unneeded/temporary files. There may be system files, mail attachments, app specific files and if the Clear button cannot clear all of them, that means they are used in some way.
"Other" files are the files which cannot be classified as Music/Video/Photo/Document, but that doesn't mean they are unused files.
If your "Other"  usage increases dramatically, especially after installing a specific app, then it's time to worry. But in normal usage conditions, 1-1.5 GB is OK for "Other" storage
    The silence will fall
